In this paper, the history and the main results of the theory of Gröbner–Shirshov bases are given for commutative, noncommutative, Lie, and conformal algebras from the beginning (1962) to the present time. The problem of constructing a base of a free Lie algebra is considered, as well as the problem of studying the structure of free products of Lie algebras, the word problem for Lie algebras, and the problem of embedding an arbitrary Lie algebra into an algebraically closed one. The modern form of the composition-diamond lemma (the CD lemma) is presented. The rewriting systems for groups are considered from the point of view of Gröbner–Shirshov bases. The important role of conformal algebras is treated, the statement of the CD lemma for associative conformal algebras is given, and some examples are considered. An analog of the Hilbert basis theorem for commutative conformalalgebras is stated. Bibliography: 173 titles.  相似文献

Quasi-hereditary algebras can be viewed as a Lie theory approach to the theory of finite dimensional algebras. Motivated by the existence of certain nice bases for representations of semisimple Lie algebras and algebraic groups, we will construct in this paper nice bases for (split) quasi-hereditary algebras and characterize them using these bases. We first introduce the notion of a standardly based algebra, which is a generalized version of a cellular algebra introduced by Graham and Lehrer, and discuss their representation theory. The main result is that an algebra over a commutative local noetherian ring with finite rank is split quasi-hereditary if and only if it is standardly full-based. As an application, we will give an elementary proof of the fact that split symmetric algebras are not quasi-hereditary unless they are semisimple. Finally, some relations between standardly based algebras and cellular algebras are also discussed.  相似文献

We use the fusion construction in twisted quantum affine algebras to obtain a unified method to deform the wedge product for classical Lie algebras. As a by-product we uniformly realize all non-spin fundamental modules for quantized enveloping algebras of classical types, and show that they admit natural crystal bases as modules for the (derived) twisted quantum affine algebra. These crystal bases are parametrized in terms of the q-wedge products.  相似文献

We investigate the relationship between the Gröbner-Shirshov bases in free associative algebras, free left modules and “double-free” left modules (that is, free modules over a free algebra). We first give Chibrikov’s Composition-Diamond lemma for modules and then we show that Kang-Lee’s Composition-Diamond lemma follows from it. We give the Gröbner-Shirshov bases for the following modules: the highest weight module over a Lie algebra sl 2, the Verma module over a Kac-Moody algebra, the Verma module over the Lie algebra of coefficients of a free conformal algebra, and a universal enveloping module for a Sabinin algebra. As applications, we also obtain linear bases for the above modules.  相似文献

Any commutative algebra equipped with a derivation may be turned into a Lie algebra under the Wronskian bracket. This provides an entirely new sort of a universal envelope for a Lie algebra, the Wronskian envelope. The main result of this paper is the characterization of those Lie algebras which embed into their Wronskian envelope as Lie algebras of vector fields on a line. As a consequence we show that, in contrast to the classical situation, free Lie algebras almost never embed into their Wronskian envelope.  相似文献

With the exception of the three step real free Lie algebra on two generators, all real free Lie algebras of step at least three are shown to have trivial Tanaka prolongation. This result, together with the known results concerning the step two real free Lie algebras and the step three real free Lie algebra on two generators, gives a complete list of Tanaka prolongations for real free Lie algebras.   相似文献

Necessary and sufficient criteria are given for the existence of BGG-resolutions (finite resolutions of modules by finite direct sums of Weyl modules) for simple modules over quasi-hereditary algebras, which have strong exact Borel subalgebras and strong Δ-subalgebras. Our main technical tool is the existence of Cartan decompositions for these algebras. The results apply to simple objects in the BGG-categoryO of a finite-dimensional semisimple complex Lie algebra and to finite dimensional simple rational modules over simply connected semisimple algebraic groups.  相似文献

We show how the recently again discussed N-point Witt, Virasoro, and a?ne Lie algebras are genus zero examples of the multipoint versions of Krichever–Novikov-type algebras as introduced and studied by Schlichenmaier. Using this more general point of view, useful structural insights and an easier access to calculations can be obtained. The concept of almost-grading will yield information about triangular decompositions which are of importance in the theory of representations. As examples, the algebra of functions, vector fields, differential operators, current algebras, a?ne Lie algebras, Lie superalgebras, and their central extensions are studied. We define the socle of a nondegenerate Lie algebra as the sum of all its minimal inner ideals. The socle turns out to be an ideal which is a direct sum of simple ideals, and satisfies the descending chain condition on principal inner ideals. Every classical finite dimensional Lie algebra coincides with its socle, while relevant examples of infinite dimensional Lie algebras with nonzero socle are the simple finitary Lie algebras and the classical Banach Lie algebras of compact operators on an infinite dimensional Hilbert space. This notion of socle for Lie algebras is compatible with the previous ones for associative algebras and Jordan systems. We conclude with a structure theorem for simple nondegenerate Lie algebras containing abelian minimal inner ideals, and as a consequence we obtain that a simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 is finitary if and only if it is nondegenerate and contains a rank-one element.  相似文献

In this article, we review results on primitive elements of free algebras of main types of Schreier varieties of algebras. A variety of linear algebras over a field is Schreier if any subalgebra of a free algebra of this variety is free in the same variety of algebras. A system of elements of a free algebra is primitive if it is a subset of some set of free generators of this algebra. We consider free nonassociative algebras, free commutative and anti-commutative nonassociative algebras, free Lie algebras and superalgebras, and free Lie p-algebras and p-superalgebras. We present matrix criteria for systems of elements of elements. Primitive elements distinguish automorphisms: endomorphisms sending primitive elements to primitive elements are automorphisms. We give a series of examples of almost primitive elements (an element of a free algebra is almost primitive if it is not a primitive element of the whole algebra, but it is a primitive element of any proper subalgebra which contains it). We take the Lie algebra A1 as an example to illustrate a detail approach for expanding a finite dimensional Lie algebra into a higher-dimensional one. By making use of the late and its resulting loop algebra, a few linear isospectral problems with multi-component potential functions are established. It follows from them that some new integrable hierarchies of soliton equations are worked out. In addition, various Lie algebras may be constructed for which the integrable couplings of soliton equations are obtained by employing the expanding technique of the the Lie algebras.  相似文献

A structure of a left-symmetric algebra on the set of all derivations of a free algebra is introduced such that its commutator algebra becomes the usual Lie algebra of derivations. Left and right nilpotent elements of left-symmetric algebras of derivations are studied. Simple left-symmetric algebras of derivations and Novikov algebras of derivations are described. It is also proved that the positive part of the left-symmetric algebra of derivations of a free nonassociative symmetric m-ary algebra in one free variable is generated by one derivation and some right nilpotent derivations are described.  相似文献

A metric Lie algebra is a Lie algebra equipped with an invariant non-degenerate symmetric bilinear form. It is called indecomposable if it is not the direct sum of two metric Lie algebras. We are interested in describing the isomorphism classes of indecomposable metric Lie algebras. In the present paper we restrict ourselves to a certain class of solvable metric Lie algebras which includes all indecomposable metric Lie algebras with maximal isotropic centre. We will see that each metric Lie algebra belonging to this class is a twofold extension associated with an orthogonal representation of an abelian Lie algebra. We will describe equivalence classes of such extensions by a certain cohomology set. In particular we obtain a classification scheme for indecomposable metric Lie algebras with maximal isotropic centre and the classification of metric Lie algebras of index 2.  相似文献

A Poisson algebra is a Lie algebra endowed with a commutative associative product in such a way that the Lie and associative products are compatible via a Leibniz rule. If we part from a Lie color algebra, instead of a Lie algebra, a graded-commutative associative product and a graded-version Leibniz rule we get a so-called Poisson color algebra (of degree zero). This concept can be extended to any degree, so as to obtain the class of Poisson color algebras of arbitrary degree. This class turns out to be a wide class of algebras containing the ones of Lie color algebras (and so Lie superalgebras and Lie algebras), Poisson algebras, graded Poisson algebras, z-Poisson algebras, Gerstenhaber algebras, and Schouten algebras among other classes of algebras. The present paper is devoted to the study of structure of Poisson color algebras of degree g0, where g0 is some element of the grading group G such that g0 = 0 or 4g0≠0, and with restrictions neither on the dimension nor the base field, by stating a second Wedderburn-type theorem for this class of algebras.  相似文献

The derivation algebras of all locally finite dimensional locally simple Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0 are determined. Every locally finite dimensional Lie algebra of countable dimension is a subalgebra of the outer derivation algebra outder (ℒ) for every Lie algebra ℒ, which is the direct limit of diagonally embedded classical Lie algebras. We study ideals of Novikov algebras and Novikov structures on finite-dimensional Lie algebras. We present the first example of a three-step nilpotent Lie algebra which does not admit a Novikov structure. On the other hand we show that any free three-step nilpotent Lie algebra admits a Novikov structure. We study the existence question also for Lie algebras of triangular matrices. Finally we show that there are families of Lie algebras of arbitrary high solvability class which admit Novikov structures.  相似文献

We determine commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some infinite-dimensional Lie algebras. We show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on loop algebras are trivial. This extends the results for finite-dimensional perfect Lie algebras. Furthermore, we show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on affine Kac–Moody Lie algebras are “almost trivial”.  相似文献

We prove that assosymmetric algebras under the Jordan product are Lie triple algebras. A Lie triple algebra is called special if it is isomorphic to a subalgebra of the plus-algebra of some assosymmetric algebra. We establish that the Glennie identity of degree 8 is valid for special Lie triple algebras, but not for all Lie triple algebras.  相似文献
