Let X be a 1-connected CW-complex of finite type and Lx its rational homotopy Lie algebra. In this work, we show that there is a spectral sequence whose E2 term is the Lie algebra ExtULx(Q, Lx), and which converges to the homotopy Lie algebra of the classifying space B autX. Moreover, some terms of this spectral sequence are related to derivations of Lx and to the Gottlieb group of X.  相似文献

It is known algebraically that any abelian group is a direct sum of a divisible group and a reduced group (see Theorem 21.3 of [L. Fuchs, Infinite Abelian Groups, vol. I, Academic Press, New York-London, 1970]). In this paper, conditions to split off rational parts in homotopy types from a given space are studied in terms of a variant of Hurewicz map, say and generalised Gottlieb groups. This yields decomposition theorems on rational homotopy types of Hopf spaces, T-spaces and Gottlieb spaces, which has been known in various situations, especially for spaces with finiteness conditions.  相似文献

Two constructions of a Lie model of the interval were performed by R. Lawrence and D. Sullivan. The first model uses an inductive process and the second one comes directly from solving a differential equation. They conjectured that these two models are the same. We prove this conjecture here.  相似文献

For an affine algebraic variety X we study a category of modules that admit compatible actions of both the algebra A of functions on X and the Lie algebra of vector fields on X. In particular, for the case when X is the sphere S2, we construct a set of simple modules that are finitely generated over A. In addition, we prove that the monoidal category that these modules generate is equivalent to the category of finite-dimensional rational GL2-modules.  相似文献

If X is a simply connected space of finite type, then the rational homotopy groups of the based loop space of X possess the structure of a graded Lie algebra, denoted LX. The radical of LX, which is an important rational homotopy invariant of X, is of finite total dimension if the Lusternik-Schnirelmann category of X is finite.Let X be a simply connected space with finite Lusternik-Schnirelmann category. If dimLX<, i.e., if X is elliptic, then LX is its own radical, and therefore the total dimension of the radical of LX in odd degrees is less than or equal to its total dimension in even degrees (Friedlander and Halperin (1979) [8]). Félix conjectured that this inequality should hold for all simply connected spaces with finite Lusternik-Schnirelmann category. We prove Félix’s conjecture in some interesting special cases, then provide a counter-example to the general case.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the theory of higher order homotopy coalgebras as a collection of spaces between co-H-spaces and suspensions, which dualizes Stasheff's theory of Ak-spaces when these are defined through Ak-structures. Moreover we extend two Berstein-Hilton theorems which deal with the primitive homotopy type of a suspension and the class of a suspension map, respectively.  相似文献

Given a Lie bialgebra (g,g), we present an explicit procedure to construct coisotropic subalgebras, i.e. Lie subalgebras of g whose annihilator is a Lie subalgebra of g. We write down families of examples for the case that g is a classical complex simple Lie algebra.  相似文献

Let X be a k-fold homotopy coalgebra of order j with respect to the pair of adjoint functors Σk and Ωk. We show that, under some connectivity conditions on the map , Y inherits a k-fold homotopy coalgebra structure of the same order for which f is a morphism of homotopy coalgebras. In particular, this holds for skeleta of homotopy coalgebras under some mild assumptions. As a consequence, we complete results on [M. Arkowitz, M. Golasiński, Homotopy coalgebras and k-fold suspensions, Hiroshima Math. J. 27 (1997) 209-220] and [T. Ganea, Cogroups and suspensions, Invent. Math. 9 (1970) 185-197] by detecting k-fold suspensions among skeleta of k-fold homotopy coalgebras.  相似文献

The settings for homotopical algebra—categories such as simplicial groups, simplicial rings, AA spaces, EE ring spectra, etc.—are often equivalent to categories of algebras over some monad or triple T. In such cases, T is acting on a nice simplicial model category in such a way that T descends to a monad on the homotopy category and defines a category of homotopy T-algebras. In this setting there is a forgetful functor from the homotopy category of T-algebras to the category of homotopy T-algebras.  相似文献

We construct irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras over left ideals of the algebra of differential operators on the circle, through certain irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries. The structures of vertex algebras associated with the vacuum representations of these algebras are determined. Moreover, we prove that under certain conditions, the highest-weight irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries naturally give rise to the irreducible modules of the simple quotients of these vertex algebras. From vertex algebra and its representation point of view, our results with positive integral central charge are high-order differential operator analogues of the well-known WZW models in conformal field theory associated with affine Kac-Moody algebras. Indeed, when the left ideals are the algebra of differential operators, our Lie algebras do contain affine Kac-Moody algebras as subalgebras and our results restricted on them are exactly the representation contents in WZW models. Similar results with negative central charge are also obtained.  相似文献

The equivariant fundamental groupoid of a G-space X is a category which generalizes the fundamental groupoid of a space to the equivariant setting. In this paper, we prove a van Kampen theorem for these categories: the equivariant fundamental groupoid of X can be obtained as a pushout of the categories associated to two open G-subsets covering X. This is proved by interpreting the equivariant fundamental groupoid as a Grothendieck semidirect product construction, and combining general properties of this construction with the ordinary (non-equivariant) van Kampen theorem. We then illustrate applications of this theorem by showing that the equivariant fundamental groupoid of a G-CW complex only depends on the 2-skeleton and also by using the theorem to compute an example.  相似文献

In the rational category of nilpotent complexes, let E be an H-space acting on a space X. With mild hypotheses we show that the action on the base point factors through a map ΓE:SEX, where SE is a finite product of odd-dimensional spheres and ΓE is a homotopy monomorphism. Among others, the following consequences are obtained: if and only if is essential and if and only if X satisfies a strong splitting condition.  相似文献

The Euler-Poincaré characteristic of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra vanishes. If we want to extend this result to Lie superalgebras, we should deal with infinite sums. We can observe that a suitable method of summation, which goes back to Euler, allows to do that to a certain degree. The mathematics behind it is simple: we just glue the pieces of elementary homological algebra, first-year calculus and pedestrian combinatorics together, and present them in a (hopefully) coherent manner.  相似文献

Given any model category, or more generally any category with weak equivalences, its simplicial localization is a simplicial category which can rightfully be called the “homotopy theory” of the model category. There is a model category structure on the category of simplicial categories, so taking its simplicial localization yields a “homotopy theory of homotopy theories”. In this paper we show that there are two different categories of diagrams of simplicial sets, each equipped with an appropriate definition of weak equivalence, such that the resulting homotopy theories are each equivalent to the homotopy theory arising from the model category structure on simplicial categories. Thus, any of these three categories with the respective weak equivalences could be considered a model for the homotopy theory of homotopy theories. One of them in particular, Rezk’s complete Segal space model category structure on the category of simplicial spaces, is much more convenient from the perspective of making calculations and therefore obtaining information about a given homotopy theory.  相似文献

This paper represents a step toward a model structure on pro-spectra in which the weak equivalences are the maps inducing pro-isomorphisms of all pro-homotopy groups. We construct a category in which these weak equivalences are inverted and show that we have not inverted “too much,” in the sense that isomorphic objects still give pro-isomorphic cohomology groups.  相似文献
