The reversible thermochromic behaviour of homoleptic [{V(OR)(4)}(n)] complexes in solution [R = Pr(i) (product I), Bu(s) (B(s)), Nep (N) and Cy (C)] is accounted for the existence of an aggregation equilibrium involving dimeric and monomeric species in which vanadium(iv) is respectively five- and four-coordinate. Bulky R groups such as Bu(t) and Pe(t) (tert-pentoxide) prevent aggregation and therefore give rise to exclusively mononuclear compounds (B(t) and P(t), respectively) that are not thermochromic. The complexes and their temperature-dependent interconversion were characterised by single crystal X-ray diffractometry, magnetic susceptibility measurements and electronic, FTIR and EPR spectroscopies in a wide temperature range. Equilibrium constants and enthalpy and entropy changes for the dimerization reactions have been determined and compared with literature data.  相似文献

The densities of anthracene, tetracyanoethylene, maleic anhydride, N-phenylmaleineimide, trans, trans-1,4-diphenylbuta-1,3-diene, and their Diels-Alder adducts were measured in the solid state and in solution at 25 °C. The reaction volumes in the solid state were calculated from the difference in molar volumes. They turned out to be low, close to each other (–4 to –11 cm3 mol–1), and slightly different from the reaction volumes (–8±1 cm3 mol–1) calculated from the van der Waals radii. The reaction volumes in solutions (–15 to –32 cm3 mol–1) were found from the difference in partial molar volumes of the reactants in dioxane, acetonitrile, and 1,2-dichloroethane, The experimental Diels-Alder reaction volumes in solution are determined not only by the formation of new bonds in an adduct: a considerably higher contribution (to 75%) is made by a change in the volume of intermolecular empty spaces in solution on going from reactants to adducts.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The spectral properties and Z,E-photoisomerizations of three 4-styrylstilbenes, a 4,4'-bis(P-methylstyryl)benzene and a 4,4'-distyrylstilbene were investigated in solution and in the solid state. Some notable features of the absorption and fluorescence spectra due to the structures and the phases (solution or solid) were observed, especially the Stokes shifts. Interesting photochemical behaviors in solution and in the solid state were also found. While the (E,Z)-4-styrylstilbenes undergo a one-way photoisomerization to their E,E-isomers with almost equal rates in solution, their quantum yields in the solid state decrease with increasing substituent size at the terminal aromatic rings. On the other hand, the 4,4'-bis(beta-methylstyryl)benzene undergoes a mutual photoisomerization in solution, but its E,Z-isomer isomerizes in a one-way manner to the E,E-isomer in the solid state. Additionally, the (Z,E,Z)-4,4'-styrylstilbene was found to undergo a one-way photoisomerization to the E,E,E-isomer via the E,E,Z-isomer in solution and the crystalline E,E,Z-isomer to the E,E,E-isomer in the solid state.  相似文献

The protonation of leucoemeraldine in power form and in N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP) solution by HCIO4 and HBF4 has been studied by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), infrared (IR), and ultraviolet (UV)-visible absorption spectroscopy. In powder form, less than 25% of the amine nitrogens can be protonated in the absence of oxygen. The effects of oxygen on the degree of protonation and the distribution of amine and imine units upon deprotonation of the salt are investigated. The degree of protonation in leuccemeraldine can be increased to about 50% with 3 M HCIO4, similar to that achievable with emeraldine base in powder form. In NMP solution, leucoemeraldine is easily oxidized by dissolved oxygen. Protonation of both leucoemeraldine and emeraldine base in NMP solutions results in metastable species which gradually undergo deprotonation. The resulting products are affected by the O2 content of the solutions. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We examined the deep UV 229 nm photochemistry of NaNO(3) in solution and in the solid state. In aqueous solution excitation within the deep UV NO(3)ˉ strong π → π* transition causes the photochemical reaction NO(3)ˉ → NO(2)ˉ + O·. We used UV resonance Raman spectroscopy to examine the photon dose dependence of the NO(2)ˉ band intensities and measure a photochemical quantum yield of 0.04 at pH 6.5. We also examined the response of solid NaNO(3) samples to 229 nm excitation and also observe formation of NO(2)ˉ. The quantum yield is much smaller at ~10(-8). The solid state NaNO(3) photochemistry phenomena appear complex by showing a significant dependence on the UV excitation flux and dose. At low flux/dose conditions NO(2)ˉ resonance Raman bands appear, accompanied by perturbed NO(3)ˉ bands, indicating stress in the NaNO(3) lattice. Higher flux/dose conditions show less lattice perturbation but SEM shows surface eruptions that alleviate the stress induced by the photochemistry. Higher flux/dose measurements cause cratering and destruction of the NaNO(3) surface as the surface layers are converted to NO(2)ˉ. Modest laser excitation UV beams excavate surface layers in the solid NaNO(3) samples. At the lowest incident fluxes a pressure buildup competes with effusion to reach a steady state giving rise to perturbed NO(3)ˉ bands. Increased fluxes result in pressures that cause the sample to erupt, relieving the pressure.  相似文献

The structure of the hypoglycemic agent Gliclazide has been studied by 1H, 13C, and 15N NMR in solution (CDCl3 and DMSO‐d6) and in the solid state. In the solid state, the compound crystallizes as an EZ isomer without dynamic properties. In CDCl3 solution, the structure is still EZ but with a slow nitrogen inversion about the pyrrolidine nitrogen: two invertomers have been observed and characterized. In DMSO‐d6, the rate is faster and only averaged signals were observed. GIAO calculated absolute shieldings were used to confirm the nature of the observed species. In the solid state, Gliclazide presents the phenomenon of solid‐solution with two disordered conformations present in the crystal at a 90:10 ratio. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article reviews our recent studies on structure and properties of rotaxanes and pseudorotaxanes with Fe-, Pd- and Pt-containing complexes as the axle component. Electrochemical oxidation of ferrocenylmethylamine in the presence of a hydrogen radical precursor induces formal protonation of the amino group and produces a pseudorotaxane of the resulting ammonium species with a crown ether. Single crystals of the ferrocene-containing pseudorotaxane undergo a thermal crystalline phase transition accompanied by changes in the optical properties of the crystals. X-Ray crystallographic studies of the low- and high-temperature phases revealed different intermolecular interactions and orientations of the aromatic rings in the crystalline state depending on the temperature. End-capping of the ferrocene-containing [2]pseudorotaxane using a cross-metathesis reaction yields [2]rotaxane under mild conditions. A rotaxane having a platinum-carboxylate complex as its axle is converted into related organic and inorganic rotaxanes by partial dissociation of the Pt-O bond. An N-alkylbipyridinium forms [3]pseudorotaxane with alpha-cyclodextrin (alpha-CD), and it reacts with platinum and palladium complexes to form the corresponding [5]rotaxanes containing four alpha-cyclodextrin moieties. Complexes without alpha-CD components form micelles in aqueous solution, while the addition of alpha-CD causes degradation of the micelles and the formation of rotaxanes.  相似文献

The packing behavior of benzoylterryleneimide was determined by X-ray powder and electron diffraction. The latter was applied to a material solidified from a solution after spreading it onto a water surface. By this procedure various nonequilibrium structures were prepared: crystalline lamellae are embedded in a structure of lower order, the texture of which looks similar to a texture seen in rigid liquid-crystalline polymers. The transition between both regimes is gradual. X-ray diffraction was applied to an annealed crystalline powder. The crystalline packing of the dark-blue compound can be described by a monoclinic unit cell with lattice parameters a?=?11.25?Å, b?=?10.93?Å, c?=?27.78?Å, β?=?91.0°, ρ?=?1.38?g/cm3 and Z?=?4?at ambient temperature. In order to enable optimum space-filling, the molecules are arranged parallel two by two with the planes of the aromatic ring systems 3.47?Å apart in centrosymmetrical relation and shifted longitudinally so that the diisopropylphenyl group of one molecule fits into the cavity at the carbonyl oxygen of the adjacent molecule.  相似文献

Cyclobutane compounds are a class of compounds that can be conveniently synthesized in the solid state by employing crystal engineering principles. The rctt-isomer (or the syn-dimer) is the most common form of any cyclobutene compound that is obtained in the solid state by the photochemical [2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions. However, these rctt-isomers can be converted to other less accessible forms, under some special conditions. Isomerization of cyclobutane compounds thus plays an important role in synthetic chemistry. Such isomerization of cyclobutane compounds have been reported in organic salts, metal complexes, coordination polymers and metal-organic frameworks. In this review, these fascinating examples of isomerization that occur both in the solid state and solution phase have been discussed.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the pentanuclear complex of formula Mn(II)(O(2)CCH(3))(2)[12-MC(Mn(III)(N)shi)-4](DMF)(6), 1, was investigated using magnetization and magnetic susceptibility measurements both in the solid state and in solution. Complex 1 has a nearly planar structure, made of a central Mn(II) ion surrounded by four peripheral Mn(III) ions. Solid state variable-field dc magnetic susceptibility experiments demonstrate that 1 possesses a low value for the total spin in the ground state; fitting appropriate expressions to the data results in antiferromangetic coupling both between the peripheral Mn(III) ions (J = -6.3 cm(-1)) and between the central Mn(II) ion and the Mn(III) ones (J' = -4.2 cm(-1)). In order to obtain a reasonable fit, a relatively large single ion magnetic anisotropy (D) value of 1 cm(-1) was necessary for the central Mn(II) ion. The single crystal magnetization measurements using a microsquid array display a very slight opening of the hysteresis loop but only at a very low temperature (0.04 K), which is in line with the ac susceptibility data where a slow relaxation of the magnetization occurs just around 2 K. In frozen solution, complex 1 displays a frequency dependent ac magnetic susceptibility signal with an energy barrier to magnetization reorientation (E) and relaxation time at an infinite temperature (τ(o)) of 14.7 cm(-1) and 1.4 × 10(-7) s, respectively, demonstrating the single molecule magnetic behavior in solution.  相似文献

We have synthesized poly(methyl methacrylate- b-4-vinylpyridine) (PMMA- b-P4VP) and poly(styrene- r-vinylphenol) (PS- r-PVPh) copolymers by using anionic and free radical polymerizations, respectively. Well-defined micelles through hydrogen bonding have been prepared by mixing PMMA- b-P4VP diblock copolymer and PS- r-PVPh random copolymer in a single solvent. Block copolymers were mixed with random copolymers, with various [N]/[OH] ratios (4/1, 2/1, 1/1, and 1/4) in which "[N]/[OH]" represents the molar ratio of pyridine groups on P4VP to hydroxyl groups on PVPh. The presence distribution of PVPh/P4VP and PVPh/PMMA hydrogen bonding depends on the feeding ratio of PVPh to P4VP. When the PVPh content is lower than that of P4VP, hydrogen bonding occurs only between PVPh and P4VP; with excess PVPh, additional hydrogen bonding between PVPh and PMMA would occur. Furthermore, the effect of the solvent quality on the self-assembly behavior of PMMA- b-P4VP/PS- r-PVPh blends is investigated by considering tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dimethylformamide (DMF) as common solvents. We can mediate the strength of hydrogen bonding in blend systems by adopting different solvents and inducing different morphology transitions.  相似文献

The low aqueous solubility of celecoxib (CCB) hampers its oral bioavailability and permeation from aqueous environment through biological membranes. The aim of this study was to enhance the aqueous solubility of CCB by complexation with cyclodextrin (CD) in the presence of water-soluble polymer. The effects of different CDs (αCD, βCD, γCD, 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and randomly methylated β-cyclodextrin (RMβCD)) and mucoadhesive, water-soluble polymers (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), chitosan and hyaluronic acid) were investigated. The phase solubility profiles and CCB/CD complex characteristics were determined. RMβCD exhibited the greatest solubilizing effect of the two CDs tested. However, γCD was also selected for further investigations due to its safety profile. Addition of polymer to the aqueous CD solutions enhanced the CD solubilization. Formation of CCB/RMβCD/HPMC and CCB/γCD/HPMC ternary complexes resulted in 11 and 19-fold enhancement in the apparent complexation efficiency in comparison to their CCB/CD binary complex, respectively. The size of ternary complex aggregates in solution were determined to be from about 250 to about 350 nm. The data obtained from Fourier transform infra-red, differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffraction indicated presence of CCB/CD inclusion complexes in the solid state. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance data demonstrated that CCB was partially and totally inserted into the hydrophobic central cavities of RMβCD and γCD.  相似文献

Thermal decomposition of magnesium borohydride, Mg(BH(4))(2), in the solid state was studied by a combination of PCT, TGA/MS and NMR spectroscopy. Dehydrogenation of Mg(BH(4))(2) at 200 °C en vacuo results in the highly selective formation of magnesium triborane, Mg(B(3)H(8))(2). This process is reversible at 250 °C under 120 atm H(2). Dehydrogenation at higher temperature, >300 °C under a constant argon flow of 1 atm, produces a complex mixture of polyborane species. A borohydride condensation mechanism involving metal hydride formation is proposed.  相似文献

The results of NMR spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic studies are critically discussed with respect to the structure of hydantoins, their tautomerism, and their acidity. The imide NH proton of the preferred, nearly planar 2,4-imidazolidine-dione tautomer proved to be more acidic than the corresponding amide NH proton. Phenyl substituents at the ring nitrogen atoms and at C-5 are twisted from the plane of the hydantoin ring; in case ofortho substituents restricted rotation about the N-aryl bond was found and the barrier to rotation determined by dynamic NMR spectroscopy. For 5-benzyl substituents, afolded conformation of the two rings, due to intramolecular interactions, was found and for 5-exo-methylene substituted hydantoins the relevant E/Z isomerism at theexo-cyclic C, C double bond was studied. In addition, the1H and13C chemical shifts of the hydantoins proved to excellently indicate the electronic distribution along the hydantoin ring moiety. Tolbutamide-hydroxypropyl-gamma-cyclodextrin (TBM-HPGCD) interaction has been investigated in an aqueous environment and in the solid state. The solubility of TBM was increased in accord with the amount of HPGCD added to the aqueous medium forming a soluble inclusion compound. The phase solubility diagram obtained was of A(L) type. Physical mixtures and kneaded systems of the drug and cyclodextrin derivative were prepared in 1:1 and 1:2 drug/cyclodextrin mol/mol ratio. All solid binary systems were characterised by hot-stage microscopy (HSM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG) and X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD). An inclusion complex was formed in both of the kneaded systems. In the 1:2 kneaded system, the entire drug was included in the cyclodextrin cavity, while, in the 1:1 kneaded system only a part of the drug formed an inclusion complex with the cyclodextrin. A significant improvement in the dissolution of the drug was obtained from the kneaded systems in comparison with that of the pure TBM and physical mixtures. However, there was no significant difference between the dissolution profiles of the two kneaded systems. The study suggests that an inclusion complex was obtained both in aqueous solution and in solid state.  相似文献

Corrosion behavior of magnesium and its alloy in NaCl solution   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The electrochemical behavior of cast Mg, AZ91, and cast AZ91 in 0.1 M NaCl solution is investigated by measuring open-circuit potential (OCP), steady-state current-potential, and electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). The similar electrochemical impedance behavior is found of three corrosion electrodes. There are two capacitances in high-and medium-frequency domains and one inductive loop or component in low-frequency domain. From equivalent circuit simulation, cast AZ91 has the worst corrosion resistance. The EIS results are in good agreement with those obtained by OCP and polarization curves. Based on the Cao theory, a simple corrosion mechanism is put forward, supplying a possible explanation for low-frequency inductive behavior for Mg and its alloy in NaCl solution at OCP. Novel Janus-type nucleoside analogues (1a-d) were synthesized. Their pyrimido[4,5-d]pyrimidine base moiety has one face with a bidentate Watson-Crick donor-acceptor (DA) H-bond array of adenine and the other face with an acceptor-donor (AD) H-bond array of thymine. These nucleosides may self-associate through the self-complementary base pair. Indeed, in the solid state, compound 6d displayed a honeycomb-like supramolecular structure with tetrameric membered cavities formed through the combination of reverse Watson-Crick base pairs and aromatic stacking, in which the solvent molecules were accommodated. The result of temperature-dependent CD studies showed that the free nucleosides can form higher order chiral structures in aqueous solution.  相似文献
