In this paper, we define a new class of sets called rgp-closed and use the sets to obtain further characterizations of almost p-regular spaces and almost regular spaces. Bent functions have many applications in the fields of coding theory, communications and cryptography. This paper studies the constructions of bent functions having the form for odd n and for even n, over the finite field of odd characteristic p, where . Based on the irreducibility of some polynomials on , we focus on characterizing the bent functions for n=p v q r and n=2p v q r , where is an odd prime and p a primitive root modulo q 2. In this paper, we characterize the space of almost periodic (AP) functions in one variable using either a Weyl–Heisenberg (WH) system or an affine system. Our observation is that the sought-for characterization of the AP space is valid if and only if the given WH (respectively, affine) system is an L 2(ℝ)-frame. Moreover, the frame bounds of the system are also the sharpest bounds in our characterization. This draws an intriguing and quite unexpected connection between L 2(ℝ) representations and AP-representations.   相似文献

Quadratic fractional functions are proved to be quasilinear if and only if they are pseudo-linear. For these classes of functions, some characterizations are provided by means of the inertia of the quadratic form and the behavior of the gradient of the function itself. The study is then developed showing that generalized linear quadratic fractional functions share a particular structure. Therefore it is possible to suggest a sort of “canonical form” for those functions. A wider class of functions given by the sum of a quadratic fractional function and a linear one is also studied. In this case generalized linearity is characterized by means of simple conditions. Finally, it is deepened on the role played by generalized linear quadratic fractional functions in optimization problems.  相似文献

Let T(λ, ε ) = λ2 + λC + λεD + K be a perturbed quadratic matrix polynomial, where C, D, and K are n × n hermitian matrices. Let λ0 be an eigenvalue of the unperturbed matrix polynomial T(λ, 0). With the falling part of the Newton diagram of det T(λ, ε), we find the number of differentiable eigenvalues. Some results are extended to the general case L(λ, ε) = λ2 + λD(ε) + K, where D(ε) is an analytic hermitian matrix function. The goal of this paper is to complete an investigation begun by Cohn and Knopp in their 1994 paper, Application of Dedekind eta-multipliers to modular equations. The paper concerned k (z), a family of modular forms on 0(N) (N a positive integer) with possibly non-trivial multiplier systems. Cohn and Knopp defined new functions k (z) and a new group containing 0(N) and proved that for all S in the larger group and for all k, k (Sz) = M k(S) k (z), where M k(S)24 = 1. This yielded interesting invariance properties of k , dependent on the values of M k(S). Fixing a constant integer e, independent of k, Cohn and Knopp proved that for all k and all S in the larger group, M k(S) e = (±1) e . They determined the sign of M k(S) e in many, but not all, cases. In this paper, we give a complete determination of the values of M k(S) e in the remaining cases.  相似文献
