An axisymmetric contact-impact problem is considered for an elastic layer subjected to normal indentation of a rigid body. An exact analytical solution is obtained in the case of a blunt shape of the indenter having a given velocity, and the stress pattern under multiple reflections is analyzed depending on the layer thickness. A numerical solution of the problem with arbitrary indenter shape is obtained on the basis of the simplified model of the theory of elasticity having a single displacement coincident with the impact direction. The explicit finite difference algorithm is designed on the basis of the mesh dispersion minimization technique. A parametric analysis is presented of the stress pattern developed with time with respect to variations of irregular shapes of the indenter and its masses.  相似文献

Under study is an equilibrium problem for a plate under the influence of external forces. The plate is assumed to have a thin rigid inclusion that reaches the boundary at the zero angle and partially contacts a rigid body. On the inclusion face, there is a delamination. We consider the complete Kirchhoff–Love model, where the unknown functions are the vertical and horizontal displacements of the middle surface points of the plate. We present differential and variational formulations of the problem and prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution.  相似文献

The contact problem for an arbitrary punch acting on a transversely isotropic elastic layer bonded to a rigid foundation is solved by the generalized images method developed by the author earlier. The problem is reduced to that of an electrostatic problem of infinite row of coaxial charged disks in the shape of the domain of contact. The solution can be obtained by the method of iteration, collocations or any other standard procedure for solving integral equations. Exact inversion can be obtained in the case of a circular domain of contact. The mean value theorem can be used for estimation of the resultant force and tilting moment acting on a punch of arbitrary shape and circular domain of contact. A limiting case of general solution gives the solution for an isotropic layer.

On the basis of the expansion formulas of the vector solutions of the Lamé equations in spherical coordinates with respect to the solutions of the Lamé equations in oblate spheroidal coordinates and on the basis of their inverse formulas, one solves the problem of the compression of an elastic ball with an absolutely rigid inclusion in the form of an oblate spheroid. The problem is reduced to an infinite system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind with a completely continuous operator in 2. Results of the numerical solution of the infinite system are given and the obtained results are analyzed.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Prikladnaya Mekhanika, No. 20, pp. 9–13, 1989.  相似文献

Static rigid 2-D indentation of a linearly elastic half-plane in the presence of Coulomb friction which reverses its sign along the contact length is studied. The solution approach lies within the context of the mathematical theory of elastic contact mechanics. A rigid punch, having an unsymmetrical profile with respect to its apex and no concave regions, both slides over and indents slowly the surface of the deformable body. Both a normal and a tangential force may, therefore, be exerted on the punch. In such a situation, depending upon the punch profile and the relative magnitudes of the two external forces, a point in the contact zone may exist at which the surface friction changes direction. Moreover, this point of sign reversal may not coincide, in general, with the indentor's apex. This position and the positions of the contact zone edges can be determined only by first constructing a solution form containing the three problem's unspecified lengths, and then solving numerically a system of non-linear equations containing integrals not available in closed form. The mathematical procedure used to construct the solution deals with the Navier-Cauchy partial differential equations (plane-strain elastostatic field equations) supplied with boundary conditions of a mixed type. We succeed in formulating a second-kind Cauchy singular integral equation and solving it exactly by analytic-function theory methods.Representative numerical results are presented for two indentor profiles of practical interest—the parabola and the wedge.  相似文献

On the basis of the expansion formulas of the vector solutions of the Lame equations in cylindrical and spherical coordinates, the problem of a circular stamp is formulated in the form of an integro-algebraic system of equations. By the method of orthogonal polynomials, it is reduced to a collection of infinite systems of linear algebraic equations, for which the method of reduction is justified. Formulas for the normal and tangential stresses under the stamp are given.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Prikladnaya Mekhanika, No. 18, pp. 14–20, 1987.  相似文献

Under study is the problem of bending an elastic plate with a thin rigid inclusion which may delaminate and form a crack. We find a system of boundary conditions valid on the faces of the crack and prove the existence of a solution. The problem of bending a plate with a volume rigid inclusion is also considered. We establish the convergence of solutions of this problem to a solution to the original problem as the size of the volume rigid inclusion tends to zero.  相似文献

Under consideration is a 2D-problem of elasticity theory for a body with a thin rigid inclusion. It is assumed that there is a delamination crack between the rigid inclusion and the elastic matrix. At the crack faces, the boundary conditions are set in the form of inequalities providing mutual nonpenetration of the crack faces. Some numerical method is proposed for solving the problem, based on domain decomposition and the Uzawa algorithm for solving variational inequalities. We give an example of numerical calculation by the finite element method.  相似文献

In nonstationary formulation in the context of the classical theories of shells and curvilinear rods we solve the axisymmetric problem of scattering of sound on a spherical shell stiffened by a rib. We analyze the effect of the rib on the spectral density of the echo-signal. We give the results of computing the reflected pulse and classify the sequence of pulses of peripheral waves in the echo-signal. Under consideration is the conjunction problem for a thin elastic and a thin rigid inclusions that are in contact at one point and placed in an elastic body. Depending on what kind of conjunction conditions are set at the contact point of inclusions, we consider the two cases: the case of no fracture, where, as the conjunction conditions, we take the matching of displacements at the contact point and preservation of the angle between the inclusions, and the case with a fracture in which only the matching of displacements is assumed. At the point of conjunction, we obtain the boundary conditions for the differential formulation of the problem. On the positive face of the rigid inclusion, there is delamination. On the crack faces, some nonlinear boundary conditions of the type of inequalities are set, that prevent mutual penetration of the faces. The existence and uniqueness theorems for the solution of the equilibrium problem are proved in both cases.  相似文献

In this work a 3-D contact elasticity problem for a thin fiber and a rigid foundation is studied. We describe the contact condition by a linear Robin-boundary-condition (by meaning of the penalized and linearized non-penetration and friction conditions). The Robin parameters are scaled differently in the longitudinal and cross-sectional directions. The dimension of the problem is reduced by a standard ([3], [4]) asymptotic approach with an additional expansion suggested to fulfil the contact conditions. The 3-D contact conditions result into 1-D Robin-boundary-conditions for corresponding ODEs. The Robin-coefficients of the 1-D problem depend on the ones from the 3-D statement and on the cross-section of the fiber. (© 2011 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Within the frame work of the three-dimensional linearized theory of stability of deformable bodies (TLTSDB), the near-surface buckling instability of a system consisting of a half-plane (substrate), a viscoelastic bond layer, and an elastic covering layer is suggested. The equations of the TLTSDB are obtained from the three-dimensional geometrically non linear equations of viscoelasticity theory by using the boundary-form perturbation technique. By employing the Laplace transform, a method for solving the problem is developed. It is supposed that the covering layer has an insignificant initial imperfection. The stability of the system is considered lost if the imperfection starts to increase and grows indefinitely. Numerical results for the critical compressive force and the critical time are presented. The problem of the impact of a box with an elastic bottom on a thin liquid layer is solved in a planar formulation in the shallow water approximation. Using the method of normal modes, the problem is reduced to a non-linear system of ordinary differential equations, which is solved by the Runge–Kutta method. It is shown that the elasticity of the bottom not only affects all the characteristics quantitatively but also qualitatively.  相似文献

A three-dimensional unilateral contact problem for thin viscoelastic layers bonded to rigid substrates shaped like elliptic paraboloids is considered. Two cases are studied: (a) Poisson’s ratios of the layer materials are not very close to 0.5 and (b) the layer materials are incompressible with Poisson’s ratio of 0.5. Poisson’s ratios are assumed to be time independent. In the present paper we derive the general solutions to the problems of elliptical contact between thin compressible or incompressible layers of arbitrary viscoelastic materials. The approach is based on the analytical method developed by the authors for the elliptical contact of thin biphasic cartilage layers. The obtained analytical solution is valid for monotonically increasing loading conditions.  相似文献
