The ratio of the sample variance to the sample mean estimates a simple function of the parameter which measures the departure of the Poisson-Poisson from the Poisson distribution. Moment series to order n24 are given for related estimators. In one case, exact integral formulations are given for the first two moments, enabling a comparison to be made between their asymptotic developments and a computer-oriented extended Taylor series (COETS) algorithm. The integral approach using generating functions is sketched out for the third and fourth moments. Levin's summation algorithm is used on the divergent series and comparative simulation assessments are given. 相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional (2D) fluid system with the linear Soret effect and Yudovich's type data. We obtain global unique solution for this system without imposing any smallness conditions on the initial data. Explicit formula is given for the lifetime distribution of a consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system. It is given as a linear combination of distributions of order statistics of the lifetimes of n components. We assume that the lifetimes are independent and identically distributed. The results should make it possible to treat the parametric estimation problems based on the observations of the lifetimes of the system. In fact, we take up, as some examples, the cases where the lifetimes of the components follow the exponential, the Weibull, and the Pareto distributions, and obtain feasible estimators by moment method. In particular, it is shown that the moment estimator is quite good for the exponential case in the sense that the asymptotic efficiency is close to one.This research was partially supported by the ISM Cooperative Research Program (94-ISM-CRP-5). 相似文献

Solutions of boundary value problems in three‐dimensional domains with edges may exhibit singularities which are known to influence both the accuracy of the finite element solutions and the rate of convergence in the error estimates. This paper considers boundary value problems for the Poisson equation on typical domains Ω ? ?3 with edge singularities and presents, on the one hand, explicit computational formulas for the flux intensity functions. On the other hand, it proposes and analyzes a nonconforming finite element method on regular meshes for the efficient treatment of the singularities. The novelty of the present method is the use of the explicit formulas for the flux intensity functions in defining a postprocessing procedure in the finite element approximation of the solution. A priori error estimates in H1(Ω) show that the present algorithm exhibits the same rate of convergence as it is known for problems with regular solutions. 相似文献

In this paper we give new results for the stability of one equilibrium solution of an autonomous analytic Hamiltonian system in a neighborhood of the equilibrium point with n-degrees of freedom. Our Main Theorem generalizes several results existing in the literature and mainly we give information in the critical cases (i.e., the condition of stability and instability is not fulfilled). In particular, our Main Theorem provides necessary and sufficient conditions for stability of the equilibrium solutions under the existence of a single resonance. Using analogous tools used in the Main Theorem for the critical case, we study the stability or instability of degenerate equilibrium points in Hamiltonian systems with one degree of freedom. We apply our results to the stability of Hamiltonians of the type of cosmological models as in planar as in the spatial case. 相似文献

The proof is based on de Branges' theorem (1959) on weighted polynomial approximation. In this article, we study the Drude models of Maxwell's equations in three‐dimensional metamaterials. We derive new global energy‐tracking identities for the three dimensional electromagnetic problems in the Drude metamaterials, which describe the invariance of global electromagnetic energy in variation forms. We propose the time second‐order global energy‐tracking splitting FDTD schemes for the Drude model in three dimensions. The significant feature is that the developed schemes are global energy‐preserving, unconditionally stable, second‐order accurate both in time and space, and computationally efficient. We rigorously prove that the new schemes satisfy these energy‐tracking identities in the discrete form and the discrete variation form and are unconditionally stable. We prove that the schemes in metamaterials are second order both in time and space. The superconvergence of the schemes in the discrete H1 norm is further obtained to be second order both in time and space. Their approximations of divergence‐free are also analyzed to have second‐order accuracy both in time and space.
