Michiels et al. (SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 32(4):1399–1421, 2011) proposed a Krylov-based model order reduction (MOR) method for time-delay systems. In this paper, we present an efficient process, which requires less memory consumption, to accomplish the model reduction. Memory efficiency is achieved by replacing the classical Arnoldi process in the MOR method with a two-level orthogonalization Arnoldi (TOAR) process. The resulting memory requirement is reduced from quadratic dependency of the reduced order to linear dependency. Besides, this TOAR process can also be applied to reduce the original delay system into a reduced-order delay system. Numerical experiments are given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our method.  相似文献

Many reduced-order models are neither robust with respect to parameter changes nor cost-effective enough for handling the nonlinear dependence of complex dynamical systems. In this study, we put forth a robust machine learning framework for projection-based reduced-order modeling of such nonlinear and nonstationary systems. As a demonstration, we focus on a nonlinear advection-diffusion system given by the viscous Burgers equation, which is a prototypical setting of more realistic fluid dynamics applications due to its quadratic nonlinearity. In our proposed methodology the effects of truncated modes are modeled using a single layer feed-forward neural network architecture. The neural network architecture is trained by utilizing both the Bayesian regularization and extreme learning machine approaches, where the latter one is found to be more computationally efficient. A significant emphasis is laid on the selection of basis functions through the use of both Fourier bases and proper orthogonal decomposition. It is shown that the proposed model yields significant improvements in accuracy over the standard Galerkin projection methodology with a negligibly small computational overhead and provide reliable predictions with respect to parameter changes.  相似文献

Viscous internal damping in joints of high speed rotor systems causes instabilities above a certain frequency of revolution. In the majority of cases a nonlinearity adjusts the stability margin towards higher frequencies. In this paper an analytical solution of a nonlinear four degrees of freedom rotor model with internal damping is proposed, which enables to clearly analyse the influence of shaft stiffness, connection stiffness, rotor mass and shaft mass. The steady state solution of the unbalance case and the stability boundaries are deduced analytically. The stabilizing effect of the nonlinearity is shown. The analytical solutions are in good agreement with numerical results obtained by FERAN, a rotor dynamic simulation tool. A model, representing the rotor–shaft connection with an o–ring has been analyzed by a hydro pulse rig. Beneath the linear way, two further approaches to describe the measured hysteresis, a cubic and a bilinear force law are shown in the paper. The different analytical and numerical results for the whole rotor system with these three approaches are compared. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

We consider second order nonlinear lattices under the effect of nonlinear damping. The family we study is subject to cyclic boundary conditions and includes as distinguished examples the Fermi–Pasta–Ulam and sine-Gordon lattices. We prove global well posedness and existence of a global attractor.  相似文献

Summary Using the integral average method, we give some new oscillation criteria for the second order differential equation with damped term (a(t)Ψ(x(t))K(x'(t)))'+p(t)K(x'(t))+q(t)f(x(t))=0, t<span style='font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Lucida Sans Unicode"'>≧t0. These results improve and generalize the oscillation criteria in<span lang=EN-US style='font-size:10.0pt;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>[1], because they eliminate both the differentiability of p(t) and the sign of p(t), q(t). As a consequence, improvements of Sobol's type oscillation criteria are obtained.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a class of even order nonlinear damped differential equations
where n is even and tt 0. By using the generalized Riccati transformation and the averaging technique, new oscillation criteria are obtained which are either extensions of or complementary to a number of existing results. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Using a generalization of Sturm’s comparison theorem, some new oscillation criteria are established for the matrix differential system with damping
(P(t)Y)+R(t)Y+Q(t)Y=0(P(t)Y)+R(t)Y+Q(t)Y=0
under the hypothesis: P(t)=P(t)>0P(t)=P(t)>0, Q(t)=Q(t)Q(t)=Q(t), Y(t)Y(t) are n×nn×n matrices of real valued continuous functions on the interval [t0,∞)[t0,), and R(t)=R(t)∈C1([t0,∞),Rn2)R(t)=R(t)C1([t0,),Rn2). Our results are sharper than some previous results.  相似文献

The first-order nonlinear autoregressive model is considered and a semiparametric method is proposed to estimate regression function. In the presented model, dependent errors are defined as first-order autoregressive AR(1). The conditional least squares method is used for parametric estimation and the nonparametric kernel approach is applied to estimate regression adjustment. In this case, some asymptotic behaviors and simulated results for the semiparametric method are presented. Furthermore, the method is applied for the financial data in Iran’s Tejarat-Bank.  相似文献

We investigate the time domain model order reduction (MOR) framework using general orthogonal polynomials by Jiang and Chen [1 Y.L. Jiang and H.B. Chen, Time domain model order reduction of general orthogonal polynomials for linear input-output systems, IEEE Trans. Autom. Control 57 (2012), pp. 330343. doi:10.1109/TAC.2011.2161839[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] and extend their idea by exploiting the structure of the corresponding linear system of equations. Identifying an equivalent Sylvester equation, we show a connection to a rational Krylov subspace, and thus to moment matching. This theoretical link between the MOR techniques is illustrated by three numerical examples. For linear time-invariant systems, the link also motivates that the time-domain approach can be at best as accurate as moment matching, since the expansion points are fixed by the choice of the polynomial basis, while in moment matching they can be adapted to the system.  相似文献

Summary. In this paper, we perform the numerical analysis of operator splitting techniques for nonlinear reaction-diffusion systems with an entropic structure in the presence of fast scales in the reaction term. We consider both linear diagonal and quasi-linear non-diagonal diffusion; the entropic structure implies the well-posedness and stability of the system as well as a Tikhonov normal form for the nonlinear reaction term [23]. It allows to perform a singular perturbation analysis and to obtain a reduced and well-posed system of equations on a partial equilibrium manifold as well as an asymptotic expansion of the solution. We then conduct an error analysis in this particular framework where the time scale associated to the fast part of the reaction term is much shorter that the splitting time step t thus leading to the failure of the usual splitting analysis techniques. We define the conditions on diffusion and reaction for the order of the local error associated with the time splitting to be reduced or to be preserved in the presence of fast scales. All the results obtained theoretically on local error estimates are then illustrated on a numerical test case where the global error clearly reproduces the scenarios foreseen at the local level. We finally investigate the discretization of the corresponding problems and its influence on the splitting error in terms of the previously conducted numerical analysis.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65M12, 35K57, 35B25, 35Q80, 34E15, 80A32, 92E20  相似文献

In this work, a model order reduction (MOR) technique for a linear multivariable system is proposed using invasive weed optimization (IWO). This technique is applied with the combined advantages of retaining the dominant poles and the error minimization. The state space matrices of the reduced order system are chosen such that the dominant eigenvalues of the full order system are unchanged. The other system parameters are chosen using the invasive weed optimization with objective function to minimize the mean squared errors between the outputs of the full order system and the outputs of the reduced order model when the inputs are unit step. The proposed algorithm has been applied successfully, a 10th order Multiple-Input–Multiple-Output (MIMO) linear model for a practical power system was reduced to a 3rd order and compared with recently published work.  相似文献
