PurposeThe potential of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) in assessing pathologic response and surgical margins in locally advanced breast cancer patients (n = 38) undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy was investigated.MethodsDWI was performed at pre-therapy (Tp0), after I (Tp1) and III (Tp3) NACT at 1.5 T. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of whole tumor (ADCWT), solid tumor (ADCST), intra-tumoral necrosis (ADCNec) was determined. Further, ADC of 6 consecutive shells (5 mm thickness each) including tumor margin to outside tumor margins (OM1 to OM5) was calculated and the data analyzed to define surgical margins.ResultsOf 38 patients, 6 were pathological complete responders (pCR), 19 partial responders (pPR) and 13 were non-responders (pNR). Significant increase was observed in ADCST and ADCWT in pCR and pPR following therapy. Pre-therapy ADC was significantly lower in pCR compared to pPR and pNR indicating the heterogeneous nature of tumor which may affect drug perfusion and consequently the response. ADC of outside margins (OM1, OM2, and OM3) was significantly different among pCR, pPR and pNR at Tp3 which may serve as response predictive parameter. Further, at Tp3, ADC of outside margins (OM1, OM2, and OM3) was significantly lower compared to that seen at Tp0 in pCR, indicating the presence of residual disease in these shells.ConclusionPre-surgery information may serve as a guide to define cancer free margins and the extent of residual disease which may be useful in planning breast conservation surgery.  相似文献

PurposeTo compare diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging (DCE-MRI) for characterization of prostate cancer (PC).Methods104 PC patients who underwent prostate multiparametric MRI at 3T including DWI and DCE-MRI before MRI-guided biopsy or radical prostatectomy. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) with histogram analysis (mean, 0–25th percentile, skewness, and kurtosis), intravoxel incoherent motion model including D and f; stretched exponential model including distributed diffusion coefficient (DDC) and a; and permeability parameters including Ktrans, Kep, and Ve were obtained from a region of interest placed on the dominant tumor of each patient.ResultsADCmean, ADC025, D, DDC, and Ve were significantly lower and Kep was significantly higher in GS ≥ 3 + 4 tumors (n = 89) than in GS = 3 + 3 tumors (n = 15), and also in GS ≥ 4 + 3 tumors (n = 57) than in GS ≤ 3 + 4 tumors (n = 47) (P < 0.001 to P = 0.040). f was significantly lower in GS ≥ 4 + 3 tumors than in GS ≤ 3 + 4 tumors (P = 0.022), but there was no significant difference between GS = 3 + 3 tumors and GS ≥ 3 + 4 tumors, or between the remaining metrics in both comparisons. In metrics with area under the curve (AUC) >0.80, there was a significant difference in AUC between ADC025 and D, and DDC for separating GS ≤ 3 + 4 tumors from GS ≥ 4 + 3 tumors (P = 0.040 and P = 0.022, respectively). There were no significant differences between metrics with AUC > 0.80 for separating GS = 3 + 3 tumors from GS ≥ 3 + 4 tumors. ADC025 had the highest correlation with Gleason grade (ρ = −0.625, P < 0.001).ConclusionsDWI and DCE-MRI showed no apparent clinical superiority of non-Gaussian models or permeability MRI over the mono-exponential model for assessment of tumor aggressiveness in PC.  相似文献

PurposeMagnetic resonance imaging is used to stage thyroid tumors. Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) can be used to reflect tumor microstructure. Our aim was to compare ADC values of malignant and benign thyroid lesions based on a large sample.MethodsMEDLINE library, EMBASE and SCOPUS databases were screened for the associations between ADC values and thyroid lesions up to August 2021. The primary endpoint of the systematic review were ADC values of benign and malignant thyroid lesions. In total, 29 studies were suitable for the analysis and were included into the present study.ResultsThe included studies comprised a total of 2137 lesions, 1118 (52.3%) benign and 1019 (47.7%) malignant lesions. The pooled mean ADC value of the benign thyroid lesions was 1.88 × 10−3 mm2/s [95% CI 1.77–2.0] and the pooled mean ADC value of malignant thyroid lesions was 1.15 × 10−3 mm2/s [95% CI 1.04–1.25].ConclusionsADC can well discriminate benign and malignant thyroid tumors. Therefore, DWI should be implemented into the presurgical diagnostic work-up in clinical routine.  相似文献

Phased-array volume coils were used in conjunction with the phase rotation STEAM (PR-STEAM) spectroscopy technique to acquire very short TE data from the anterior cingulate gyrus at 3 T. A method for combining PR-STEAM data from multiple subcoils is presented. The data were acquired from seven healthy participants using PR-STEAM (repetition time/mixing time/echo time=3500/10/6.5 ms, 6 cm3, NEX=128, spectral width=2000 Hz, 2048 complex points, Δφ1=135°, Δφ2=22.5°, Δφ3=112.5° and ΔφADC=0°). In addition to the primary metabolites, LCModel fit results suggest that glutathione and glutamate can also be identified with Cramér-Rao lower bounds of 10% or less.  相似文献

PurposeTo investigate the relationship between the Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging (DKI) parameters and conventional metrics provided by Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in patients affected by Brain or Head and Neck (HN) cancer.MethodsTen patients affected by brain tumor and nine patients with HN tumor underwent a pre-treatment MR examination at 3 T. The largest tumor section was manually contoured by two expert neuroradiologists. The apparent diffusion coefficient (Dapp) and apparent diffusional kurtosis (Kapp) parameters were determined at the voxel level by using the DKI model, and compared to the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and the tissue diffusion coefficient (Dmono) obtained from mono-exponential fitting methods. The Akaike Information Criteria (AIC) was calculated to assess the quality of the fitting methods. Cross-correlations between all the variables were assessed using the Spearman rank test.ResultsIncreased Kapp values were found in each lesion. All parameters were strongly related, in particular an inverse relationship emerged between median values of Kapp and Dapp/Dmono/ADC in both patient groups, while Dapp showed positive correlations with Dmono and ADC. From the analysis at the voxel level, significant inverse associations were found between Kapp and Dmono within the lesions, while a weak or moderate association emerged between Kapp and ADC or Dapp.ConclusionsA significant association between the apparent diffusional kurtosis Kapp and the tissue diffusion coefficient Dmono emerged for both brain and HN tumors at 3 T, suggesting that both variables may consistently reflect deeper insight into the microstructural characteristics of tumors.  相似文献

PurposeTo explore the application of intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging(IVIM-DWI) on account of field-of-view optimized and constrained undistorted single shot (FOCUS) and iteraterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation quantitation(IDEAL-IQ) sequences in evaluating the vertebral microenvironment changes of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients and the correlation with bone mineral density(BMD).Method128 T2DM patients (mean age 63.4 ± 5.28 years) underwent both dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) and spine MRI. The FOCUS IVIM-DWI and IDEAL-IQ derived parameters of the vertebral body(L1, L2, L3, L4)were measured on corresponding maps of the lumbar spine. The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to T-scores as follows: normal (n = 37), osteopenia (n = 43), and osteoporosis(n = 48) group.One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to compare the vertebral parameters(ADCslow, ADCfast, f, FF, R2*) among three BMD cohorts.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses and Spearman's rank correlation were performed to test the diagnostic performance and the correlation between them respectively.ResultsThere were significant differences in vertebral ADCslow, ADCfast, FF and R2* between the three groups (P < 0.05).Statistically, BMD was moderately negatively correlated with FF (r = −0.584, P < 0.001) and weakly positively with ADCslow (r = 0.334, P < 0.001), meanwhile moderately positively correlated with R2*(r = 0.509, P < 0.001) and ADCfast(0.545, P < 0.001).ADCfast was moderately negatively correlated with FF (r = −0.417, P < 0.001), weakly positively correlated with R2*(0.359, P < 0.001).Compared with the area under the curve (AUC) of ADCslow, ADCfast, FF and R2*, the AUC of ADCfast was higher in identifying between normal and abnormal(osteopenia and osteoporosis), normal from osteopenia, while the AUC of FF was higher in identifying osteopenia from osteoporosis.ConclusionsFOCUS IVIM-DWI and IDEAL-IQ of lumbar spine might be useful to evaluate the vertebral microenvironment changes of T2DM patients.  相似文献

PurposeQuantification of myocardial oxygenation (MO) in heart failure (HF) has been less than satisfactory. This has necessitated the use of invasive techniques to measure MO directly or to determine the oxygen demand during exercise using the cardiopulmonary exercise (CPX) test. We propose a new quantification method for MO using blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) myocardial T2* magnetic resonance imaging (M-T2* MRI), and investigate its correlation with CPX results.MethodsThirty patients with refractory HF who underwent cardiac MRI and CPX test for heart transplantation, and 24 healthy, age-matched volunteers as controls were enrolled. M-T2* imaging was performed using a 3-Tesla and multi-echo gradient-echo sequence. M-T2* was calculated by fitting the signal intensity data for the mid-left ventricular septum to a decay curve. M-T2* was measured under room-air (T2*-air) and after inhalation of oxygen for 10 min at a flow rate of 10 L/min (T2*-oxy). MO was defined as the difference between the two values (ΔT2*). Changes in M-T2* at the two conditions and ΔT2* between the two groups were compared. Correlation between ΔT2* and CPX results was analyzed using the Pearson coefficient.ResultsT2*-oxy was significantly greater than T2*-air in patients with HF (29.9 ± 7.3 ms vs. 26.7 ± 6.0 ms, p < 0.001), whereas no such difference was observed in controls (25.5 ± 4.0 ms vs. 25.4 ± 4.4 ms). ΔT2* was significantly greater for patients with HF than for controls (3.2 ± 4.5 ms vs. -0.1 ± 1.3 ms, p < 0.001). A significant correlation between ΔT2* and CPX results (peak VO2, r =  0.46, p < 0.05; O2 pulse, r =  0.54, p < 0.005) was observed.ConclusionΔT2* is increased T2*-oxy is greater in patients with HF, and is correlated with oxygen metabolism during exercise as measured by the CPX test. Hence, ΔT2* can be used as a surrogate marker of MO instead of CPX test.  相似文献

Purpose

To evaluate the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of skeletal muscle based on signal intensity (SI) attenuation vs. increasing b values and to determine ADC differences in skeletal muscles between genders, age groups and muscles.

Materials and Methods

Diffusion-weighted images (b values in the range of 0–750 s/mm2 at increments of 50 s/mm2) of the ankle dorsiflexors (116 subjects) and the erector spinae muscles (86 subjects) were acquired with a 1.5-T MR device. From the two different slopes obtained in SI vs. b-value logarithmic plots, ADCb0–50 (b values=0 and 50 s/mm2) reflected diffusion and perfusion, while ADCb50–750 (b values in the range of 50–750 s/mm2 at increments of 50 s/mm2) approximated the true diffusion coefficient. Moreover, to evaluate whether this b-value combination is appropriate for assessing the flow component within muscles, diffusion-weighted images of the ankle dorsiflexors (10 subjects) were obtained before and during temporal arterial occlusion.

Results

ADCb0–50 and ADCb50–750 were found to be 2.64×10–3 and 1.44×10–3 mm2/s in the ankle dorsiflexors, and 3.02×10–3 and 1.49×10–3 mm2/s in the erector spinae muscles, respectively. ADCb0–50 was significantly higher than ADCb50–750 in each muscle (P<.01). The erector spinae muscles showed significantly higher ADC values than the ankle dorsiflexors (P<.01). However, for each muscle, there were few significant gender- and age-related ADC differences. Following temporal occlusion, ADCb0–50 of the ankle dorsiflexors decreased significantly from 2.49 to 1.6×10–3 mm2/s (P<.01); however, ADCb50–750 showed no significant change.

Conclusion

Based on the SI attenuation pattern, muscle ADC could be divided into ADC that reflects both diffusion and perfusion, and ADC that approximates a true diffusion coefficient. There were significant differences in ADC of functionally distinct muscles. However, we barely found any gender- or age-related ADC differences for each muscle.  相似文献

PurposeWe aimed to investigate whether quantitative diffusivity variables of healthy ovaries vary during the menstrual cycle and to evaluate alterations in women using oral contraceptives (OC).MethodsThis prospective study (S-339/2016) included 30 healthy female volunteers, with (n = 15) and without (n = 15) intake of OC between 07/2017 and 09/2019. Participants underwent 3T diffusion-weighted MRI (b-values 0–2000 s/mm2) three times during a menstrual cycle (T1 = day 1–5; T2 = day 7–12; T3 = day 19–24). Both ovaries were manually three-dimensionally segmented on b = 1500 s/mm2; apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) calculation and kurtosis fitting (Dapp, Kapp) were performed. Differences in ADC, Dapp and Kapp between time points and groups were compared using repeated measures ANOVA and t-test after Shapiro-Wilk and Brown-Forsythe test for normality and equal variance.ResultsIn women with a natural menstrual cycle, ADC and kurtosis variables showed significant changes in ovaries with the dominant follicle between T1 vs T2 and T1 vs T3, whilst no differences were observed between T2 vs T3: ADC ± SD for T1 1.524 ± 0.160, T2 1.737 ± 0.160, and T3 1.747 ± 0.241 μm2/ms (p = 0.01 T2 vs T1; p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.003 T3 vs T1); Dapp ± SD for T1 2.018 ± 0.140, T2 2.272 ± 0.189, and T3 2.230 ± 0.256 μm2/ms (p = 0.003 T2 vs T1, p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.02 T3 vs T1); Kapp ± SD for T1 0.614 ± 0.0339, T2 0.546 ± 0.0637, and T3 0.529 ± 0.0567 (p < 0.001 T2 vs T1, p = 0.86 T2 vs T3, p < 0.001 T3 vs T1). No significant differences were found in the contralateral ovaries or in females taking OC.ConclusionPhysiological cycle-dependent changes in quantitative diffusivity variables of ovaries should be considered especially when interpreting radiomics analyses in reproductive women.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to determine differential diagnostic value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in high-grade brain astrocytomas, brain solitary metastases and brain abscesses. 53 patients with cerebral solitary lesions which showed ring enhancement on contrast-enhanced T 1-weighted images were enrolled in this study. Brain tissues were examined pathologically from 49 patients to confirm the cerebral occupational diseases. Four patients have been diagnosed with primary cancer plus brain solitary metastasis. DTI measurements were obtained from regions of interest placed on central cavity, white matter of the immediate peritumoral region (IPR) and cerebral white matter of the normal side. The cavity of high-grade astrocytoma and brain metastases displayed hypointense signals; most of the brain abscess cavities displayed high signal intensity except for one case with uneven signal intensity. Mean diffusivity (MD) and fractional anisotropy (FA) values could be used for differentiation between tumor and abscess in brain. The brain abscess cavities showed restricted diffusion and anisotropy [MD = (0.604 ± 0.13) × 10−3 mm2/s, FA = 0.185 ± 0.03], whereas the central portion of high-grade astrocytoma [MD = (2.76 ± 0.26) × 10−3 mm2/s, FA = 0.069 ± 0.02] and solitary brain metastases [MD = (2.82 ± 0.29) × 10−3 mm2/s, FA = 0.064 ± 0.02] showed unrestricted diffusion and isotropy. Brain abscess could be differentiated by MD and FA values in their cavities from brain tumors (P < 0.01). The IPRs were all depicted as hyperintense or isointense signals on diffusion-weighted imaging. The difference between FA values in the IPR of high-grade brain astrocytomas and other groups was statistically significant (P < 0.01). In conclusion, our results suggested the potential role of the cavity MD and FA values in the differential diagnoses of brain tumors and brain abscesses; meanwhile, high-grade astrocytomas could be distinguished from solitary metastases and abscesses by evaluating their corresponding FA values in the IPR on brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Combined with conventional MRI, DTI may help radiologists to facilitate the differential diagnosis of ring-enhancing cerebral lesions in clinical practice.  相似文献

The hippocampus plays a central role in the generation and propagation of seizures in patients with complex partial seizures. Hippocampal sclerosis (HS) is a common structural abnormality in patients with refractory epilepsy. The aim of this study was to quantify diffusion in the hippocampus in patients with epilepsy to evaluate the diffusion changes associated with HS. We scanned 20 subjects (14 patients and 6 controls) with a 1.5T magnetic resonance (MR) system using a cardiac-gated, navigated spin-echo diffusion-weighted sequence. Hippocampal ADC measurements were performed on maps of the ADC measured in three orthogonal directions labeled x, y, and z. The mean ADC (ADCav) and an anisotropy index (AI) were calculated. Hippocampi which fulfilled the MR criteria for HS had a higher ADCav (p < 0.001) and a lower AI (p = 0.04) than normal appearing hippocampi in patients and hippocampi in controls. These results imply a loss of structural organization in sclerotic hippocampi and an expansion of the extracellular space. Quantitative measurements of diffusion can be used as an independent parameter for the identification and characterization of abnormal hippocampi in epilepsy.  相似文献

Purpose

Our aim was to characterize bi-exponential diffusion signal changes in normal appearing white matter of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients.

Methods

Diffusion parameters were measured using mono-exponential (0–1000 s/mm2) and bi-exponential (0–5000 s/mm2) approaches from 14 relapsing-remitting subtype of MS patients and 14 age- and sex-matched controls after acquiring diffusion-weighted images on a 3T MRI system. The results were analyzed using parametric or nonparametric tests and multiple linear regression models.

Results

Mono-exponential apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) slightly increased in controls (P=.09), but decreased significantly in MS as a function of age, nonetheless an elevated ADC was observed with increasing lesion number in patients. Bi-exponential analyses showed that the increased ADC is the result of decreased relative volume fraction of slow diffusing component (fs). However, the fast and slow diffusion components (ADCf, ADCs) did not change as a function of either age in controls or lesion number and age in MS patients.

Conclusions

These data demonstrated that the myelin content of the white matter affects diffusion in relapsing-remitting subtype of multiple sclerosis that is possibly a consequence of the shift between different water fractions.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo test the performance of free-breathing Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) using a radial volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE) sequence combined with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for quantitative solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) assessment.MethodsA total of 67 SPN cases receiving routine MRI routine scans, DWI, and dynamic-enhanced MRI in our hospital from May 2017 to November 2018 were collected. These cases were divided into a malignant group and a benign group according to the characteristics of the SPNs. The quantitative DCE-MRI parameters (Ktrans, Kep, Ve) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of the nodules were measured.ResultsThe Ktrans and Kep values in the malignant group were higher than those in the benign group, while the ADC values in the malignant group were lower than those in the benign group. Furthermore, the Ktrans value of adenocarcinoma was higher than that of squamous cell carcinoma and small cell carcinoma (P < 0.05). The Ve value was significantly different between non-small cell carcinoma and small cell carcinoma (P < 0.05). With an ADC value of 0.98 × 10−3 mm2/s as the threshold, the specificity and sensitivity to diagnose benign and malignant nodules was 90.6% and 80%, respectively.ConclusionHigh-temporal-resolution DCE-MRI using the r-VIBE technique in combination with DWI could contribute to pulmonary nodule analysis and possibly serve as a potential alternative to distinguish malignant from benign nodules as well as differentiate different types of malignancies.  相似文献

Hydrogen isotherms have been measured from 423 to 573 K for the disordered and L12 ordered forms of Pd3Mn and, from these equilibrium isotherms, ΔHHΔHH and ΔSHΔSH have been determined over a range of r values where r  =H-to-metal, atom ratio. ΔHHΔHH values are significantly more negative for the L12 ordered form than for the disordered form. H diffusion constants have been determined for the L12 and disordered forms of Pd3Mn from gas phase H permeation measurements through Pd3Mn membranes (423–573 K). The activation energy for diffusion of H in the L12 form is 35.2 kJ/mol H which is more reasonable than the value of 76.3 kJ/mol H previously reported. The diffusion constant is greater for the disordered than for the L12 form.  相似文献

PurposeTo explore the application of histogram analysis in preoperative T and N staging of gastric cancers, with a focus on characteristic parameters of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps.Materials and methodsEighty-seven patients with gastric cancers underwent diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (b = 0, 1000 s/mm2), which generated ADC maps. Whole-volume histogram analysis was performed on ADC maps and 7 characteristic parameters were obtained. All those patients underwent surgery and postoperative pathologic T and N stages were determined.ResultsFour parameters, including skew, kurtosis, s-sDav and sample number, showed significant differences among gastric cancers at different T and N stages. Most parameters correlated with T and N stages significantly and worked in differentiating gastric cancers at different T or N stages. Especially skew yielded a sensitivity of 0.758, a specificity of 0.810, and an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.802 for differentiating gastric cancers with and without lymph node metastasis (P < 0.001). All the parameters, except AUClow, showed good or excellent inter-observer agreement with intra-class correlation coefficients ranging from 0.710 to 0.991.ConclusionCharacteristic parameters derived from whole-volume ADC histogram analysis could help assessing preoperative T and N stages of gastric cancers.  相似文献

PurposeThe aim of this work is to test the use of aqueous solutions of Ficoll®**, a highly branched polymer displaying crowding properties, to build a phantom suitable for Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).MethodsWe developed a test object made of a cylindrical plastic container with a precise geometrical arrangement suitable for measuring several samples at the same time. The container was designed to host single vials with variable geometry and number, and to fit inside common commercial head coils for MRI scanners.In our experiments, vials were filled with 8 aqueous solutions of Ficoll 70 and Ficoll 400 spanning a range of polymer concentration from 5 to 30% by weight. Vials containing ultra-pure water were also used as reference. Experiments were performed on both 1.5 and 3 T clinical scanners (GE, Philips and Siemens), under the conditions of a standard clinical examination.ResultsThe geometry of the phantom provided reduced imaging artifacts, especially image distortions at magnetic interfaces. We found that the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) varied in the range of 0.00125–0.00223 mm2/s and decreased with Ficoll concentration. ADC vs Ficoll concentration exhibited a linear trend. Results were consistent over time and among different MRI clinical scanners, showing an average variability of 3% at 1.5 T and of 7.5% at 3 T. Moreover, no substantial difference was found between Ficoll 70 and 400. By varying Ficoll concentration, ADC can be modulated to approach tissue-mimicking values. Preliminary results for relaxation measurements proved that both T1 and T2 decreased with Ficoll concentration in the ranges 1.3–2.4 s and 150–800 ms respectively.ConclusionsIn this work, we propose a 3D phantom design based on the widespread crowding agent Ficoll, which is suitable for DWI quality assurance purposes in MRI acquisitions. Aqueous Ficoll solutions provide good performance in terms of stability, ease of preparation, and safety.  相似文献

PurposeTo investigate the feasibility for preoperative prediction of IDH mutation and MGMT promoter methylation status in glioblastomas(GBMs) by intravoxel incoherent motion(IVIM) and dynamic susceptibility contrast(DSC).MethodsPreoperative IVIM and DSC images of 71 patients(IDH mutation:45, IDH wildtype: 26; MGMT methylation: 31, MGMT unmethylation:40) with glioblastomas were analyzed retrospectively. Perfusion parameters including microcirculation perfusion coefficient(D*), perfusion fraction(f), cerebral blood volume(CBV) and cerebral blood flow(CBF) were measured. Corrected perfusion parameters containing corrected perfusion coefficient(ADCperf) and simplified perfusion fraction(SPF) were from the simplified IVIM with 3 b values. Correlations among parameters were analyzed by Spearman correlation. All parameters were compared with Mann-Whitney U test. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were constructed. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was analyzed.ResultsThe IVIM parameters showed merely moderate correlations with CBV and showed no correlation with CBF. IDH mutation GBMs showed lower D*, ADCperf, SPF, CBV and higher f than IDH wildtype GBMs(all p < 0.05). D* was the independent predictor for IDH mutation with the highest AUC of 0.912(95%CI: 0.821–0.966). The D*, ADCperf, SPF and CBV of MGMT promoter methylation GBMs were lower than unmethylation GBMs while f was higher(all p < 0.05). Multivariate model showed the highest prediction efficacy for MGMT promoter methylation with an AUC of 0.915(95%CI: 0.824–0.968). The CBF was not useful in distinguishing IDH mutation and MGMT promoter methylation status(p = 0.055, 0.215).ConclusionIDH mutation and MGMT promoter methylation status in GBMs can be assessed effectively by IVIM and DSC. Besides, D* was the independent predictor of IDH mutation status.  相似文献

ObjectiveMultiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and PI-RADS (Prostate Imaging – Reporting and Data System) has become the standard to determine a probability score for a lesion being a clinically significant prostate cancer. T2-weighted and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) are essential in PI-RADS, depending partly on visual assessment of signal intensity, while dynamic-contrast enhanced imaging is less important. To decrease inter-rater variability and further standardize image evaluation, complementary objective measures are in need.MethodsWe here demonstrate a sequence enabling simultaneous quantification of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and T2-relaxation, as well as calculation of the perfusion fraction f from low b-value intravoxel incoherent motion data. Expandable wait pulses were added to a FOCUS DW SE-EPI sequence, allowing the effective echo time to change at run time. To calculate both ADC and f, b-values 200 s/mm2 and 600 s/mm2 were chosen, and for T2-estimation 6 echo times between 64.9 ms and 114.9 ms were used.ResultsThree patients with prostate cancer were examined and all had significantly decreased ADC and T2-values, while f was significantly increased in 2 of 3 tumors. T2 maps obtained in phantom measurements and in a healthy volunteer were compared to T2 maps from a SE sequence with consecutive scans, showing good agreement. In addition, a motion correction procedure was implemented to reduce the effects of prostate motion, which improved T2-estimation.ConclusionsThis sequence could potentially enable more objective tumor grading, and decrease the inter-rater variability in the PI-RADS classification.  相似文献

The giant magneto-impedance (GMI) ratio, ΔZ/Z=[(Z(H)−Z(Hmax)]/Z(Hmax), in a nearly zero magnetostrictive Co68.5Mn6.5Si10B15 amorphous microwire has been investigated for the frequency range 0.5–10 MHz, driving current amplitude of 0.5–2.5 mA, bias DC magnetic field up to 2400 A/m and under applied tensile stress up to 132 MPa. A maximum relative change in the GMI ratio up to around 130% is observed at a frequency of 10 MHz, magnetic DC field of about 180 A/m, driving current amplitude of 1 mA and under tension of 60 MPa. The tensile stress dependence of the magnetic field, Hm, corresponding to the maximum ΔZ/Z ratio allows to estimate the magnetostriction constant (λs≈−2×10−7) to be in good agreement with λs values estimated by different methods and in amorphous alloys with similar compositions.  相似文献
