Due to many applications of spherical shells on a circular planform such as the nose of the plane and spacecraft and caps of pressurized cylindrical tanks, in this article, free vibration analysis of a thin functionally graded shallow spherical cap under a thermal load is considered. A decoupling technique is employed to analytically solve the equations of motion. Introducing some new auxiliary and potential functions as well as using the separation method of variables, the governing equations of the vibrated functionally graded shallow spherical cap were exactly solved. The superiority of the relations is validated by some comparative studies for various types of boundary conditions. Also, thermal buckling phenomenon is considered. Using new different material models, efficiency of the functionally graded materials is investigated when the shell is subjected to a temperature gradient. The effects of various parameters such as radius of curvature, material grading index and thermal gradient are discussed.  相似文献

An elastic-plastic solution is presented for an internally pressurized thick-walled plane strain cylinder of an elastic linear-hardening plastic material. The solution is derived in a closed form using a strain gradient plasticity theory. The inner radius of the cylinder enters the solution not only in non-dimensional forms but also with its own dimensional identity, which differs from that in classical plasticity based solutions and makes it possible to capture the size effect at the micron scale. The classical plasticity solution of the same problem is recovered as a special case of the current solution. To further illustrate the newly derived solution, formulas and numerical results for the plastic limit pressure are provided. These results reveal that the load-carrying capacity of the cylinder increases with decreasing inner radius at the micron scale. It is also seen that the macroscopic behavior of the pressurized cylinder can be well described by using classical plasticity based solutions.  相似文献

A circular plate is inelastically deformed by uniform pressure, unloaded and then alternately reloaded to the same peak level. For each iteration, snap-through occurs at an increased pressure relative to the previous one, leading to additional plastic deformation. By repeating this process, the plate either fails or a limit state of deformation is reached under peak pressure without snap-through. For the case of a limit state, the results of [1] are extended to numerically determine the pressure above the peak level causing the plate to snap-through again. This is compared to the snap-through pressure of an initially unloaded spherical cap whose radius corresponds to the maximum displacement achieved in the limit case. An approximate analytical solution of the moderately large deflection axisymmetric response of moderately thick conical and spherical polar orthotropic caps is presented using first-order shear deformation theory. Governing equations in terms of deflection w, rotation ψ of the midsurface and stress function Φ are used. Rotational and inplane inertia are neglected. The rotation ψ is approximated by a one-term spatial mode shape. The moment equation of equilibrium and the compatibility equations are solved exactly for w and Φ. Galerkin's method is applied to the transverse equation of motion to obtain governing equation for the central deflection. The effect of the radius-to-thickness ratio of the cap on the response is studied.  相似文献

Axisymmetric buckling analysis is presented for moderately thick laminated shallow annular spherical cap under transverse load. Buckling under central ring load and uniformly distributed transverse load, applied statically or as a step function load is considered. The central circular opening is either free or plugged by a rigid central mass or reinforced by a rigid ring. Annular spherical caps have been analysed for clamped and simple supports with movable and immovable inplane edge conditions. The governing equations of the Marguerre-type, first order shear deformation shallow shell theory (FSDT), formulated in terms of transverse deflection w, the rotation ψ of the normal to the midsurface and the stress function Φ, are solved by the orthogonal point collocation method. Typical numerical results for static and dynamic buckling loads for FSDT are compared with the classical lamination theory and the dependence of the effect of the shear deformation on the thickness parameter for various boundary conditions is investigated.  相似文献

The load-carrying capacity of circular plates made of a fiber-reinforced composite and loaded with axisymmetric transverse forces under axisymmetric boundary conditions is investigated. The plates can be freely supported or clamped along their contour. To the known yield condition used, in the plane of main bending moments, there correspond irregular hexagons, which depend on the mechanical properties of composite constituents and some characteristic geometrical parameters. It is shown that, depending on the ratio of ultimate radial and circumferential bending moments, in the plastic state, the circular plates (the central part of the clamped plates) take the form of a cone or a frustum of cone. For each of the cases, the limit load is found, which is a function of the above-mentioned mechanical parameters. The statically allowable fields of bending moments and the corresponding allowable fields of deflection rates are determined. The solutions found are exact. The J-integral is a fracture criterion, which permits measurement of the fracture toughness of a specimen where fracture occurs in the elastic–plastic regime. An understanding of the ratio of plastic zone size (radius) to the crack tip blunting (stretch zone) is required to determine the upper temperature for transition curves, where elastic–plastic fracture becomes invalid and general yielding occurs. This study endeavors to acquire this ratio using finite element techniques. The development of the plastic zone in dynamic tear (DT) specimens and non-standard three-point bending fracture test specimens was the main focus of the study. The ABAQUS finite element software was used to model the elastic–plastic behaviour of the specimens. The cracks in the specimens were induced by pressing the notch followed by fatigue cracking at 30–40% of the limit loads. The shapes of these cracks were adequately modelled in the finite element analysis. The specimens were made of 350WT steel and 304 stainless steel materials and were loaded until fixed amounts of permanent deformation were recorded. Results were obtained in the form of plots, showing the progression of the plastic zone around the crack tip. For each case, mid-point plastic deflection, stretch zone width and plastic zone radius were computed.  相似文献

结合轴线偏移情况开展回转窑滚圈多轴疲劳寿命研究,采用了Wang和Brown提出的多轴疲劳准则和雨流计数法及Miner准则进行累积损伤评估.回转窑运行轴线偏移会导致滚圈承受的支承载荷分布严重不均,因此引入载荷比来描述轴线偏移程度以进一步定量分析滚圈应力.采用有限元软件ANSYS进行了各载荷比下滚圈的接触应力分析,并根据滚动接触区域情况计算得到了切向摩擦应力.以某回转窑滚圈为分析对象,计算得到了随载荷比变化的疲劳寿命曲线,揭示了轴线偏移对滚圈疲劳寿命的影响规律.研究对减少滚圈疲劳失效有重要意义,同时也可作为轴线调整和优化调窑的理论依据.  相似文献

基于应变梯度塑性理论,分析了内压作用下厚壁圆筒和球壳的塑性极限荷载.结果表明:圆筒内径在微米量级时,存在尺度效应现象,内径减小,其尺度效应增强;变形越大,影响越大;应变速率敏感指数越大,尺度效应越明显.经典塑性理论结果是当前解的特例.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to take into consideration the influence of the limited load carrying capacity of the connections on the plastic limit state of elasto-plastic steel (or composite) framed structures under multi-parameter stochastic loading and probabilistically given conditions. In addition to the plastic limit design to control the plastic behaviour of the structure, bound on the complementary strain energy of the residual forces is also applied. This bound has significant effect for the load parameter. If the design uncertainties (manufacturing, strength, geometrical) are expressed by the calculation of the complementary strain energy of the residual forces a reliability based extended limit design problem is formed. The formulations of the problems yield to nonlinear mathematical programming which are solved by the use of sequential quadratic algorithm. 应用轴对称旋转扁壳的基本方程,研究了在任意载荷作用下具有型面锥度的浅波纹壳的非线性弯曲问题· 采用格林函数方法,将扁壳的非线性微分方程组化为非线性积分方程组· 再使用展开法求出格林函数,即将格林函数展成特征函数的级数形式,积分方程就成为具有退化核的形式,从而容易得到非线性代数方程组· 应用牛顿法求解非线性代数方程组时,为了保证迭代的收敛性,选取位移作为控制参数,逐步增加位移,求得相应的载荷· 在算例中,研究了具有球面度的浅波纹壳的弹性特征· 结果表明,由于型面锥度的引入,特征曲线发生显著变化,随着荷载的增加,将出现类似扁球壳的总体失稳现象· 本文的解答符合实验结果·  相似文献

The motion of a ball of constant spherical shape on a grassy lawn represented by a set of deformable rods with one end rigidly attached to a plane, while the other end is free and can contact the ball, is investigated. The contact area on the ball surface is represented by a spherical sector, whose dimensions and location on the ball surface depend on the position of the centre of the ball and its orientation. The projection of the contact area onto the plane is a circle, whose centre and radius vary as the centre of the ball moves. When the rods come into contact with the ball, they experience longitudinal and flexural strains, as well as impact actions on the boundary of the contact area. The translational–rotational motion of a ball on a lawn of rods without friction, as well as motion with viscous friction at the points of contact of the ends of the rods with the ball, is considered.  相似文献
