Various local connectedness and compactness properties of topological spaces are characterized by higher degrees of distributivity for their lattices of open (or closed) sets, and conversely. For example, those topological spaces for which not only the lattice of open sets but also that of closed sets is a frame, are described by the existence of web neighborhood bases, where webs are certain specific path-connected sets. Such spaces are called web spaces. The even better linked wide web spaces are characterized by F-distributivity of their topologies, and the worldwide web spaces (or C-spaces) by complete distributivity of their topologies. Similarly, strongly locally connected spaces and locally hypercompact spaces are characterized by suitable infinite distributive laws. The web space concepts are also viewed as natural extensions of spaces that are semilattices with respect to the specialization order and have continuous (unary, binary or infinitary) semilattice operations.  相似文献

Sufficient conditions for abstract (proximal) hit-and-miss hyperspace topologies and the Wijsman hyperspace topology, respectively, are given to be Baire spaces, thus extending results of McCoy, Beer, and Costantini. Further the quasi-regularity of (proximal) hit-and-miss topologies is investigated.

In this paper we study important quantities defined from solutions of first order linear systems of ordinary differential equations. It will be proved that many quantities, such as solutions, eigenvalues of one-dimensional Dirac operators, Lyapunov exponents and rotation numbers, depend on the coefficients in a very strong way. That is, they are not only continuous in coefficients with respect to the usual L^p topologies, but also with respect to the weak topologies of the Lp spaces. The continuity results of this paper are a basis to study these quantities in a quantitative way.  相似文献

Spaces which are maximal with respect to a semi-regular property are characterised. Furthermore, a method to construct such topologies is given. Consequently, new characterisations of maximal pseudocompact spaces and of maximal Q.H.C. spaces are presented. Known characterisations of maximal connected spaces and of maximal feebly compact spaces are given alternative proofs.

Let C(X,Y) be the set of all continuous functions from a topological space X into a topological space Y. We find conditions on X that make the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies on C(X,Y) equal for all Y. For zero-dimensional spaces X, we show there is a space Z such that the coincidence of the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies on C(X,Z) implies the coincidence on C(X,Y) for all Y. We then consider the question of when the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies coincide on the set of continuous real-valued functions. Our results are similar to results established for consonant spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we will introduce two other topologies, coarser than the so-called strong topology, on a class of Šerstnev probabilistic normed spaces, and obtain some important properties of these topologies. We will show that under the first topology, denoted by τ0, our probabilistic normed space is decomposable into the topological direct sum of a normable subspace and the subspace of probably null elements. Under the second topology, which is in fact the inductive limit topology of a family of locally convex topologies, the dual space becomes a locally convex topological vector space.  相似文献

We provide a representation for strong-weak continuous dynamic risk measures from Lp into Lpt spaces where these spaces are equipped respectively with strong and weak topologies and p is a finite number strictly larger than one. Conversely, we show that any such representation that admits a compact (with respect to the product of weak topologies) sub-differential generates a dynamic risk measure that is strong--weak continuous. Furthermore, we investigate sufficient conditions on the sub-differential for which the essential supremum of the representation is attained. Finally, the main purpose is to show that any convex dynamic risk measure that is strong-weak continuous can be approximated by a sequence of convex dynamic risk measures which are strong--weak continuous and admit compact sub-differentials with respect to the product of weak topologies. Throughout the arguments, no conditional translation invariance or monotonicity assumptions are applied.  相似文献

In this paper we will prove that, for an arbitrary metric space X and a fairly arbitrary collection Σ of subsets of X, it is possible to endow the hyperspace CL(X) of all nonempty closed subsets of X (to be identified with their distance functionals) with a canonical distance function having the topology of uniform convergence on members of Σ as topological coreflection and the Hausdorff metric as metric coreflection. For particular choices of Σ, we obtain canonical distance functions overlying the Wijsman and Attouch-Wets topologies. Consequently we apply the general theory of spaces endowed with a distance function and compare the results with those obtained for the classical hyperspace topologies. In all cases we are able to prove results which are both stronger and more general than the classical ones.  相似文献

Abstract

Absolutely summing processes are defined, which form a subclass of weakly operator harmonizable processes. When the parameter space is the set of real numbers, it is proved that an absolutely summing process is represented as an integral of operator stationary processes with respect to an appropriate probability measure. To do this, weak convergence of scalar and vector measures is considered. Then we prove compactness of the unit ball of vector measures under certain topologies, and we apply the Choquet theorem to derive an integral representation.  相似文献

This paper is a continuation of [1]. That is, it considers fuzzifying topologies, a special case of I-fuzzy topologies (bifuzzy topologies), introduced by Ying [2]. It investigates topological notions defined by means of α-open sets when these are planted into the framework of Ying’s fuzzifying topological spaces (by Łukasiewicz logic in [0, 1]). Other characterizations of fuzzifying α-compactness are given, including characterizations in terms of nets and α-subbases. Several characterizations of locally α-compactness in the framework of fuzzifying topology are introduced and the mapping theorems are obtained.  相似文献

Basic properties of probabilistic topologies associated with L-fuzzy uniformities are studied, e.g. regularity, uniform continuity and 1-completeness. The main result is the existence and uniqueness of the probabilistic completion of L-fuzzy uniform spaces. Lowen introduced the concept of fuzzy neighbourhood spaces (fns's), and proved that the family of level topologies of a fns is an antichain. Wuyts characterized fns's as being those fully stratified fuzzy topological spaces (fts's) whose level topologies form antichains and whose fuzzy topologies are the finest possible for thier level topologies. Mashhour et al. introduced the axiom of structure A on fts's, and derived for it several characterizations and fuzzy topological consequences. We use those characterizations of structure A and Wuyts' characterization of fns's to prove that a fts is a fns iff it is of structure A and fully stratified.  相似文献

A study is made of two classes of product topologies on powers of spaces: the general box product topologies, and the general uniform product topologies. Some examples are given and some results are shown about the properties of these general product spaces. This is applied to show that certain spaces of continuous functions with the fine topology are homeomorphic to box product spaces, and certain spaces of continuous functions with the uniform topology are homeomorphic to uniform product spaces.  相似文献

The concept of relative N-compactness is defined and characterized in terms of nets. It is shown that the relative N-compactness is hereditary with respect to L-fuzzy sets and the relative N-compactness is L-good extension. Some connections between the N- compactness and the relative N-compactness are investigated. It is also proved that induced relative N-compact spaces are productive, and the product of finite relative compact sets is relative compact.  相似文献

In the general context of functorial topologies, we prove that in the lattice of all group topologies on an abelian group, the infimum between the Bohr topology and the natural topology is the profinite topology. The profinite topology and its connection to other functorial topologies is the main objective of the paper. We are particularly interested in the poset C(G) of all finite-index subgroups of an abelian group G, since it is a local base for the profinite topology of G. We describe various features of the poset C(G) (its cardinality, its cofinality, etc.) and we characterize the abelian groups G for which C(G)?{G} is cofinal in the poset of all subgroups of G ordered by inclusion. Finally, for pairs of functorial topologies T, S we define the equalizer E(T,S), which permits to describe relevant classes of abelian groups in terms of functorial topologies.  相似文献
