New, physically motivated static sources for the Reissner-Nordström metric are found. One is a generalization of the Schwarzschild interior solution representing a sphere of constant nongravitational energy density. The other is a family of solutions for which the mass is electromagnetic in origin. Some general results are found. For a charged fluid sphere in equilibrium with pressure,m 2 >q 2. The formation of near-extremal Reissner-Nordstr?m black holes in the S-wave approximation can be described, near the event horizon, by an effective solvable model. The definition of entropy consistent with the Nernst theorem of ordinary thermodynamics contradicts the area theorem, which means the breakdown of weak energy condition in an adiabatic process. Such has never occurred in the ordinary thermodynamics. It implies that the extreme black hole is not so alike as the ordinary system and it cannot be treated as the limit of the non-extreme case. We study the Einstein-Maxwell equations for isotropic pressure distributions. We postulate a relationship between the electric field intensity and one of the gravitational potentials. An algorithm is developed that allows us to systematically generate new classes of exact solutions for charged relativistic stars. The solutions are expressed in terms of simple elementary functions; it is possible to parametrize the solutions so that different values of a constant allows us to tabulate the models. For a particular class it is possible to generate models without any integration. We study the qualitative features of a particular solution, and show that it is physically reasonable in the region of a spherical shell surrounding the centre.  相似文献

In this letter, we first consider the famous non-vacuum solution of general relativity for a static spherically symmetric charged object, i.e. the Reissner-Nordström solution. Afterwards, by adopting an isotropic coordinate system, we derive the equivalent form of this solution in the so-called geometry. Dirac equation in Kerr geometry was separated by Chandrasekhar in 1976. In the present paper, the radial parts of Dirac equation in Reissner-Nordström (RN) geometry are solved. We concentrate on two cases. The first one is that the energies of the waves are greater than the height of the potential barrier and the second one is that the waves hit on the potential barrier. In each case, the reflection and transmission coefficients and the wave function are computed. We compare the solutions with several parameters to show how the properties of the scattered wave depend on these parameters.  相似文献

With the physical interpretation of quasinormal modes proposed by Maggiore, we investigate the quantum area and entropy spectra of d-dimensional extreme Reissner-Nordström black holes. Employing two methods, the method of Maggiore and the action variable quantization, we arrive at the spectra consistent with each other. Results show that the spectra are irrelevant to the black hole parameters and the perturbation field parameters but relative to the spacetime dimension. For a given dimension, the spectra are equally spaced.  相似文献

Following Visser’s approach (Visser in Phys. Rev. D 39:3182, 1989; Nucl. Phys. B 328:203, 1989; Lorentzian wormholes. AIP Press, New York, 1996) of cut and paste, we construct Reissner–Nordström thin-shell wormholes by taking the generalized cosmic Chaplygin gas for the exotic matter located at the wormhole throat. The Darmois–Israel conditions are used to determine the dynamical quantities of the system. The viability of the thin-shell wormholes is explored with respect to radial perturbations preserving the spherical symmetry. We find stable as well as unstable Reissner–Nordström thin-shell wormhole solutions depending upon the model parameters. Finally, we compare our results with both generalized and modified Chaplygin gases.  相似文献
