We introduce a spin chain based on finite-dimensional spin-1/2 SU(2) representations but with a non-Hermitian "Hamiltonian" and show, using mostly analytical techniques, that it is described at low energies by the SL(2,R)/U(1) Euclidian black hole conformal field theory. This identification goes beyond the appearance of a noncompact spectrum; we are also able to determine the density of states, and show that it agrees with the formulas in [J. Maldacena, H. Ooguri, and J. Son, J. Math. Phys. (N.Y.) 42, 2961 (2001)] and [A. Hanany, N. Prezas, and J. Troost, J. High Energy Phys. 04 (2002) 014], hence providing a direct "physical measurement" of the associated reflection amplitude.  相似文献

The known relationship between non-linear partial differential equations which have soliton solutions, and SL (2, R), is developed to the point where it provides a framework for discussing Bäcklund transformations, and equations for the inverse scattering method.  相似文献

We propose a Lorentz-covariant Yang-Mills “spin-gauge” theory, where the function-valued Pauli matrices play the role of a nonscalar Higgs field. As symmetry group we choose SU(2) × U(1) of the 2-spinors describing particle/antiparticle states. After symmetry breaking, a nonscalar Lorentz-covariant Higgsfield gravity appears, which can be interpreted within a classical limit as Einstein's metrical theory of gravity, where we restrict ourselves in a first step to its linearized version.  相似文献

TheSU(2)/U(1) dynamical system is defined and its dynamics are studied. It is shown to be chaotic in a certain range of parameters. Links corresponding to the cycles ofSU(2)/U(1) are studied.  相似文献

We show that the composition of not only two SO(3,1) boosts, but also that of two SO(n,1) boosts for anyn 2, is basically an SO(2,1) problem and hence can be analysed completely using SL(2,R) matrices. By computing the expression for the Thomas/Wigner angle directly using SL(2,R) matrices we show that this approach results in considerable economy of algebra.  相似文献

We determine here the most general electroweak interaction based on the groupSU(2)L×SU(2)R×U(1). When we rotate theZ 1,Z 2 basis to theZ,D basis such that the total interaction ofZ with the right-handed current is zero, we obtain an interaction that is free of triangle anomalies. This condition enables us to know the angle through whichZ 1,Z 2 basis is to be rotated. We show that the triangle anomaly free interaction obtained by others is contained here as a special case. We also determine the triangle anomaly free weak interaction whenever the neutral (Z,D) bosons are mass eigenstates and show that it reduces to the neutral sector of the standard model whenever g R 2 goes to infinity. The charged sector is also developed here. The most general elements of the masssquared matrix of theZ,D bosons are evaluated. The masses of the left- and right-handed charged bosons are also determined.  相似文献

A nonrelativistic color quark model based on the spectrum generating group SU(6)×SL(3, R) is presented. The model unifies SU(6) and the Regge classification with linear L vs m2 mass spectrum. Baryons are predicted to belong to the (56, LP = (even+) and (70, LP = (odd?) multiplets of the SU (6) × O(3) group.  相似文献

A systematic study of the ground state, excitation spectrum, and “isospin-magnetic” properties of the U(1)-Thirring model, based on its exact (Bethe-ansatz) solution, is presented. The exact results obtained for the renormalized mass spectrum in all sectors of the phase diagram of the model allow us to observe a continuous transition from the weak-coupling theory into a strong-coupling (asymptotically free) regime, taking place by varying the coupling constants, g and g. Some questions concerning universality and the relation to other models are discussed.  相似文献

We propose a rational quantum deformed nonlocal currentsin the homogeneous space SU(2)k/U(1),and in terms of it and a free boson field a representation for the Drinfeld currents of Yangian double at a general level k=c is obtained. In the classical limit h→0,the quantum nonlocal currents become SU(2)k parafermion, and the realization of Yangian double becomes the parafermion realization of SU(2)k current algebra.  相似文献

We consider infinite Jacobi matrices with ones off-diagonal, and independent identically distributed random variables with distributionF(v)dv on-diagonal. IfF has compact support and lies in some Sobolev spaceL 1 , then we prove that the integrated density of states,k(E), isC inE.Research partially supported by USNSF under Grant MCS-81-20833Research partially supported by USNSF under Grant MCS-82-01766A01  相似文献

The predictions ofSU(2)×U(1)×U′(1) andSO(10) gauge models for the asymmetry parametersA-,B-,C L andC R in the deep inelastic scattering of polarized electrons and positrons by unpolarized protons and deuterons are compared with those calculated in the Weinberg Salam model for different values ofy. The model based on,SU(2)×U(1)×U′(1) group has been found almost indistinguishable from the Weinberg Salam model with regard to the parametersA-,B- andC L (except forB- in the region 0≦y≦0.2) althoughC R exhibits marked distinguishability. TheSO(10) model, for certain choice of its model parameters, can be distinguished from the Weinberg Salam model through measurement of the asymmetry parameters for different values ofy.  相似文献

The moduli space of flat SL(2, R)-connections modulo gauge transformations on the torus may be described by ordered pairs of commuting SL(2, R) matrices modulo simultaneous conjugation by SL(2, R) matrices. Their spectral properties allow a classification of the equivalence classes, and a unique canonical form is given for each of these. In this way the moduli space becomes explicitly parametrized, and has a simple structure, resembling that of a cell complex, allowing it to be depicted. Finally, a Hausdorff topology based on this classification and parametrization is proposed.  相似文献

Under a general class of assumptions we show that the present data for partiy violating effects in atomic bismuth and for inclusive neutral current neutrino (anti-) nucleon scattering exclude all SU(2) × U(1) gauge models except one, as far as the light quarks and light leptons are concerned. Furthermore the smallness of parity violation in Bi is a strong evidence for the existence of right-handed charged weak current.  相似文献
