A phase transition has been discovered in Cd2Ta2O7 near 200 K which is about the same temperature at which Cd2Nb2O7 is known to become ferroelectric. However, Cd2Ta2O7 does not become ferroelectric below this transition. The nature of this transition was also studied in the Cd2Nb2?xTaxO7 series using low temperature X-ray, SHG, and DSC techniques.  相似文献

The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the ferroelectric phase transition temperature in [NH2(CH3)2]3[Sb2Cl9] (DMACA) has been studied by electric permittivity measurements at pressures up to 400 MPa. The pressure-temperature phase diagram is given. The phase transition temperature (Tc) increases with increasing pressure up to 150 MPa, passes through a maximum and then decreases with a further increase of pressure. The unexpected nonlinear decrease in Tc with pressure increasing above 150 MPa suggests that the mechanism of ferroelectric phase transition in DMACA is different from hitherto assumed.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the spectral results of Dy3+ and Pr3+ (1.0 mol%) ions doped Bi2O3-ZnF2-B2O3-Li2O-Na2O glasses. Measurements of X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) profiles of these rare-earth ions doped glasses have been carried out. From the DSC thermograms, glass transition (Tg), crystallization (Tc) and melting (Tm) temperatures have been evaluated. The direct and indirect optical band gaps have been calculated based on the glasses UV absorption spectra. The emission spectrum of Dy3+:glass has shown two emission transitions 4F7/26H15/2 (482 nm) and 4F7/26H13/2 (576 nm) with an excitation at 390 nm wavelength and Pr3+:glass has shown a strong emission transition 1D23H4 (610 nm) with an excitation at 445 nm. Upon exposure to UV radiation, Dy3+ and Pr3+ glasses have shown bright yellow and reddish colors, respectively, from their surfaces.  相似文献

Single crystals of Bi2Sn2O7 were grown in a Bi2O3 flux. Phase transitions were identified at about 90 and 680° using X-ray, SHG, DSC, dielectric, and optical data. γ-Bi2Sn2O7, which exists above 680°C is centric and cubic with a = 10.73 Å at 700°, and it probably has the ideal pyrochlore structure. β-Bi2Sn2O7, which exists between 680° and about 90°C, is acentric but remains cubic with a = 21.40 Å. α-Bi2Sn2O7, which exists from about 90°C to below room temperature, is acentric and noncubic, probably tetragonal with a = 21.328 and c = 21.545 Å. The α-β transition is first order, and the β-γ transition appears to be second order. Substitutions of Pb2+ or Cd2+ for Bi3+ and of Ga3+, Rh3+ Sc3+, In3+, Sb5+ Nb5+ or Ta5+ for Sn4+ lower the α-β transition temperature.  相似文献

The heat capacity of the layer compounds tetrachlorobis (n-propylammonium) manganese II and tetrachlorobis (n-propylammonium) cadmium II, (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2MnCl4 and (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2CdCl4 respectively, has been measured over the temperature range 10 K ?T ? 300 K.Two known structural phase transitions were observed for the Mn compound in this temperature region: at T = 112.8 ± 0.1 K (ΔHt= 586 ± 2 J mol?1; ΔSt = 5.47 ± 0.02 J K?1mol?1) and at T =164.3 ± (ΔHt = 496 ± 7 J mol?1; ΔSt =3.29 ± 0.05 J K?1mol?1). The lower transition is known to be from a monoclinic structure to a tetragonal structure, while the upper is from the tetragonal phase to an orthorhombic one. From comparison with the results for the corresponding methyl Mn compound it is deduced that the lower transition primarily involves changes in H-bonding while the upper transition involves motion in the propyl chain.A new structural phase transition was observed in the Cd compound at T= 105.5 ± 0.1 K (ΔHt= 1472.3 ± 0.1 J mol?1; ΔSt = 13.956 ± 0.001 J K?1mol?1), in addition to two transitions that have been observed previously by other techniques. The higher of these transitions(T = 178.7 ± 0.3 K; ΔHt = 982 ± 4 J mol?1 ΔSt = 6.16 ± 0.02 J K? mol?1) is known to be between two orthorhombic structures, while the structural changes at the lower transition (T= 156.8 ± 0.2 K; ΔHt = 598 ± 5 J mol?1, ΔSt = 3.85 ± 0.03 J K?1 mol?1) and at the new transition are not known. It is proposed that these two transitions correspond respectively to the tetragonal to orthorhombic and monoclinic to tetragonal transitions in the propyl Mn compounds.In addition to the structural phase transitions (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2MnCl4 magnetically orders at t? 130 K. The magnetic contribution to the heat capacity is deduced from the heat capacity of the corresponding diamagnetic Cd compound and is of the form expected for a quasi 2-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of R2Ru2O7 pyrochlore compounds (R=Yb, Dy) were studied using specific heat down to 0.4 K and bulk magnetic measurements. These two rare-earth elements were chosen to demonstrate the effect of Ru-R exchange interaction on R magnetic sublattice, in two cases of anisotropy: axial in Dy and planar in Yb. Dy2Ru2O7 undergoes a second order transition to a fully ordered state at 1.85 K with no signs of the spin-ice state. In Yb2Ru2O7 the Yb sublattice orders gradually around 8 K due to the Ru molecular field and no further transition is observed down to 0.4 K. Including the Ru molecular field at the R site in calculations based on crystal field parameters known from titanates R2Ti2O7, allowed us to interpret experimental data.  相似文献

SrMn2As2 single crystals were grown by the Sn flux method. Structural features of these crystals were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD results show that the single crystal has a rhombohedral structure and grows along the c-axis direction. The microstructure and layered structural features of this material have been examined by SEM and high-resolution TEM observations. The measurements of in-plane resistivity as a function of temperature demonstrate that SrMn2As2 undergoes a phase transition of semiconductor-insulator at a low temperature; the active energies are estimated to be Δ=0.64 and 0.29 eV for two distinct regions. Magnetic measurements show a clear antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition at about TN=125 K. Therefore, the SrMn2As2 material is an AFM insulator at low temperatures and could be a potential parent compound for superconductors.  相似文献

Orthorhombic CsH2PO4 undergoes a ferroelectric transition at Tc = ?119.5°C, whereas the ferroelectric transition temperature in isomorphous CsD2PO4 is Tc = ?5.55°C. The transitions are of first order in both cases. The rather large isotope effect demonstrates the importance of the OHO bonds in the transition mechanism.  相似文献

借助与示差扫描量热法、磁化率测量、电子自旋共振、铁电与介电性质测量及电子衍射系统地研究了Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3(PFN)的电、磁性质和相变特征.结果表明发生在380K附近的顺电-铁电转变和发生在145K附近的顺磁 反铁磁转变分别为一级相变和二级相变或弱一级相变.在室温下,PFN的剩余极化与矫顽场分别为11.5μC/cm2和3.04kV/cm.介电测量表明PFN的顺电-铁电相变为弥散型相变.其弥散指数为1.62.电子衍射表明Fe3+与Nb5+离子在B位置上是无序分布的,正是这种与无序分布相关联的成分涨落导致铁电相变的弥散性. 关键词:  相似文献

用差热分析、X射线物相分析和点阵常数的精确测定,研究了Ba2CaWO6-Sr2CaWO6赝二元系的相平衡和相变。发现在高温(860℃以上)时,形成连续固溶体。在室温时,在富Ba2CaWO6一侧,形成以Ba2CaWO6为基的固溶体;在富Sr2CaWO6一侧,形成以Sr2CaWO6为基的固溶体,相变点在成分为Ba2CaWO:Sr2CaWO6=25:75(克分子比)处。同时研究了作为高压钠灯灯丝涂层材料的BaxSr2-xCaWO6的几个重要性质:电子发射和多次启动时的灯压升高等。发现成分为BaSrCaWO6时,性质最好。 关键词:  相似文献

We have studied experimentally the electrical magneto-conductivity near the superconducting transition of YBa2Cu3O7-δ, YBa2 (Cu2.95Zn0.05)O7-δ and Y(Ba1.75Sr0.25)Cu3O7-δ polycrystalline samples. The measurements were performed in magnetic fields ranging from 0 to 400 Oe applied parallel to the current orientation. The results show that the resistive transition of these systems proceeds in two stages. The pairing transition occurs at the bulk critical temperature Tc, where superconductivity is stabilized within small and homogeneous regions of the sample generically called grains. The regime of approach to the zero resistance state reveals the occurrence of a coherence transition at a lower temperature Tc0. This transition is related to the connective nature of the granular samples and is controlled by fluctuations of the order-parameter phase of individual grains. Our experiments show that the Zn-doping, besides depressing the pairing critical temperature, strongly enlarges the temperature range dominated by effects related to the coherence transition. The substitution of Ba by Sr causes only a small reduction of Tc, but also enhances significantly the effects related to the grain coupling phenomenology. In general, our results indicate that these impurity substitutions in YBa2Cu3O7-δ produce or magnify the granularity at a microscopic level, enhancing the effects of phase fluctuations in the conductivity near the transition.  相似文献

The glass-forming regions of the GeSe2-CdI2-TeO2 (I), GeSe2-CdI2-Bi2O3 (II) and GeSe2-TeO2-Bi2O3 (III) systems have been determined. The obtained glassy phases have been characterized by their basic physicochemical parameters such as temperatures of glass transition, crystallization, and melting, density and microhardness. The phase T-X diagram of the GeSe2-CdI2 system, which is the basic joint line for systems I and II, has been specified. Three non-variant equilibria (two eutectic and one syntectic) have been observed at temperatures 350, 280 and 375 °C for compositions containing 15, 95 and 33.3 mol% GeSe2, respectively. A new intermediate phase with probable composition of 2CdI2·GeSe2 has been formed.  相似文献

We report a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser emitting at 1074 nm, based on the 4 F 3/2-4 I 11/2 transition, generally used for a 1064 nm emission. A power of 323 mW at 1074 nm has been achieved in continuouswave (CW) operation with a fiber-coupled laser diode emitting 18.2 W at 808 nm. Intracavity second-harmonic generation in CW mode has also been demonstrated with a power of 18 mW at 537 nm by using a LiB3O5 (LBO) nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

We used optical birefringence, X-ray and neutron diffraction methods with single crystals to study the structural phase transitions of the perowskite-type layer structures of (CH3NH3)2MeCl4 with Me=Mn, Fe. The Mn-compound shows the following structural transitions at 394 K — a continuous order-disorder phase transition from tetragonal symmetry I4mmm to orthorhombic space group Abma (Cmca in reference 10); at 257 K — a discontinuous transition to a second tetragonal modification; at 95 K — a discontinuous transition to a monoclinic phase. For the Fe-compound the corresponding transition temperatures are 328 K and 231 K, respectively. A low temperature monoclinic phase could not be observed. The lattice parameters of the different modifications were determined as a function of temperature. The temperature dependent course of the order parameter has been investigated for the order—disorder transition. For both compounds, all the methods used gave the same value for the critical exponent of β = 0.315.  相似文献

The successive phase transitions of the cubic spinel structure CuV2S4 have been studied by the electrical resistivity and the specific heat. In the resistivity and the specific heat two anomalies have been observed at T1~91 K and T3≈55 K. The specific heat indicates that the phase transition at T1 is in the vicinity of a tricritical point, where the resistivity has a small sharp peak. On the other hand, the specific heat shows a step at T3, where a hysteresis of the resistivity indicates the existence of the first-order phase transition.  相似文献

The structures of α and β(PO4)2Pb3 show that there is a condensation of an Au type soft mode at the ferroelastic transition point (180°C). Since only the C11 elastic constant has a strong discontinuity at the transition point, the interaction term in the free energy is ΔW3=2b?11Q2. The calculated discontinuities of the spontaneous deformations are in good accordance with the experimental results.  相似文献

Hg2Cl2 undergoes a second order phase transition around 185 K. All the elastic constants have been measured above (tetragonal phase) and below (orthorhombic phase) the transition point. The results support the hypothesis that the transition is induced by the condensation of a transversal acoustical mode at an X point of the first Brillouin zone in the tetragonal phase. The coefficients of the coupling terms in the free energy are evaluated and the relative values of the spontaneous deformations are evaluated.  相似文献

We have observed the anomalous temperature dependence of the phonon modes in the Raman spectra of Bi2Ti4O11 and the modified Bi2Ti4O11 with the dopant of PbO. The square of the lowest mode frequency in both substances decreases linearly with increasing temperature, while the damping constant increases reaching a peak value at the transition temperature. The mode frequency, however, does not tend to zero but stays finite and the damping constant decreases above the transition temperature. The mode is Raman-active both above and below the transition temperature.  相似文献
