High field magnetoresistance measurements have been made on samples of AuPb2, which consist of islands of oriented AuPb2 surrounded by eutectic mixture. The results obtained are very similar to what would be expected for single crystal samples. Open orbits are observed in 〈100〉, 〈110〉, 〈101〉, 〈112〉 and 〈211〉 and [001] directions. The results are consistent with predictions of the Nearly Free Electron Model.  相似文献

Magnetization measurements on TbAl2 single crystals are reported for 4.2 K in magnetic fields up to 50 kOe applied in the three symmetry directions. We find 〈111〉 as the easy and 〈100〉 as the hard direction of magnetization. No quenching of the magnetic moment is observed. The results are interpreted in terms of the crystalline electric field.  相似文献

Several dense Kondo compounds have a low-temperature ordered phase in which the magnetic moments are reduced with respect to the values expected for the crystal-field (CEF) ground state. In the present work the phenomenon of moment reduction is studied within a molecular-field theory combined with a variational solution of the one-impurity Anderson model with CEF effects. The calculated zero-temperature magnetization and susceptibility agree well with available exact results; the present method is easily applied to systems of any symmetry. We first study the f 1 configuration in cubic symmetry, for small values of the ratio T K/Δ between Kondo temperature and CEF splitting. With a Γ ground state and a field along a 〈100〉 direction, an inflection point occurs in the magnetization curve, which gives rise to a first order transition in the zero-temperature phase diagram. This feature is not found for a field along 〈110〉 or 〈111〉, for which the transition is second order. For a Γ 7 ground state and small values of T K/Δ, the magnetic-nonmagnetic transition is second order for all field directions. On increasing T K/Δ an inflection point in the magnetization curve appears first for a field along 〈111〉. The theory is applied to a study of cubic CeAg, CeAl2, CePb3, CeIn3, CeTe, and hexagonal CePd2Ga3. The bare value of the moment is found to be strongly increased by exchange coupling to excited CEF states, and the amount of Kondo reduction is found to be substantial, confirming the importance of the Kondo effect in these compounds.  相似文献

Spin polarized field emission from thin film Fe- and Co-coated W(001) and W(111) tips has been investigated. A transverse spin polarization component is detected in each case. For W(111) tips, the azimuthal orientation of polarization showed only a weak preference for the set of 〈1?10〉 and 〈112?〉 tip directions due to the competing influence of magnetocrystalline anisotropy and tip morphology on tip magnetization. On the contrary, the polarization direction for W(001) tips exhibited a strong preference for alignment with the transverse low-index crystallographic directions, i.e. the 〈110〉 for Co and 〈100〉 for Fe. Superparamagnetic fluctuations of the tip magnetization are evident in the polarization direction of emitted electrons when film coatings are very thin. At marginally larger thickness, long-term stability of the polarization magnitude and direction is observed at 300 K. A method for changing the stable spin polarization direction is also presented that exploits spontaneous flipping of the tip magnetization at elevated temperature.  相似文献

The effect of an in-plane magnetic field on the dependence of the domain-wall velocity on the acting magnetic field is investigated for bismuth-containing garnet ferrite single-crystal films of the composition (Bi,Y,Pr)3(Fe,Ga)5O12 with the (210) orientation. The in-plane magnetic field is applied along the 〈120〉 and 〈001〉 crystallographic axes. The domain-wall velocity is measured in directions perpendicular and parallel to the in-plane magnetic field.  相似文献

It is shown for ferromagnetic US that an extremely large anisotropy restrains magnetic moments to 〈111〉 easy axes, resulting in a near cos θ angular dependence of the magnetization away from the 〈111〉 axes. This is further confirmed by torque measurements, which in addition show large hysteresis effects upon rotation through the hard axes. It is illustrated through torque and magnetization measurements that a near stable domain configuration can be established by field rotation through decreasing angular amplitude around a hard 〈001〉 direction. The anisotropy constant K1(T) is estimated by computing the small angle through which the magnetization deviates from the 〈111〉 axes when a field is applied along the [001] direction.  相似文献

The domain states and phase transitions in 0.67Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.33PbTiO3 single crystals were investigated by studying their relative permittivity under various dc bias at constant heating and cooling rates. The orientation dependence of the bias field effect was revealed by examining the temperature dependence of relative permittivity as a function of crystal orientation (the 〈111〉, 〈011〉 and 〈001〉 directions) and dc bias field. The crystals basically have a macrodomain rhombohedral ferroelectric state in the ferroelectric phase under zero dc bias. External bias field could modulate the domain state and induce a stable macrodomain state in the crystals. Also, it is proposed that the dc bias applied along the 〈001〉 or 〈011〉 direction could induce a tetragonal ferroelectric phase or an orthorhombic ferroelectric phase, respectively, in an intermediate temperature range.  相似文献

Inelastic neutron time of flight measurements have been carried out on the intermetallic compound HoRh at different temperatures. Well resolved transitions between crystal field levels were observed at 4.0 and 9.7 meV. The complete crystal field level scheme was deduced and the crystal field parameters were found to be A40r4〉 = ?10.98 meV and A60r6〉 = ?1.59 meV. An approximate expression for the Euclidean Green function of a massless scalar field in the spacetime of a multidimensional global monopole has been derived. Expressions for the vacuum expectation values 〈?2ren and 〈T 00ren have been derived by the dimensional regularization method. The ESR of single crystals of yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ), containing color centers due to reduction in a flowing H2 atmosphere, has been measured at room temperature. The spin density is about 3 × 1017 cm?3 and the strong ESR line displays axial symmetry with principal values g6 = 1.989, g = 1.860.The behaviour of the ESR spectra when the magnetic field is rotated about the 〈1 0 0〉 and 〈1 1 0〉 directions shows that the centers have axial symmetry, the symmetry axis being along the 〈111〉 and equivalent directions. The derivative peak to peak envelope width is g-dependent and varies from 18 Gauss at g = 1.989 to 65 Gauss at g = 1.860. The results are interpretable in terms of an electron trapped at an oxygen vacancy adjacent to an yttrium ion.  相似文献

The photophysical properties of molecules adsorbed in composite films (e.g. surface island films) depend on the local electromagnetic field within the film. The ratio between the average field intensity 〈|E|2〉 in the film and the intensity |EI|2 associated with the incident field is a measure of the electromagnetic contribution to the surface influence on molecular photophysical phenomena. This ratio depends on the film composition and morphology, on the dielectric properties of the pure components making the film and on the frequency, direction and polarization of the incident radiation. Calculations of this ratio as a function of these parameters for several models of composite films are presented. Image interactions and retardation effects as well as radiative damping and finite size contributions to the dielectric response of the films are taken into account. In addition, an estimate of the field inhomogeneity within the film is obtained by calculating also the ratio 〈|E|2shell/|EI|2 associated with the field in thin shells surrounding the dielectric particles which constitute the film.  相似文献

The processes of polarization evolution in single crystals of the PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3 model ferroelectric relaxor in a sinusoidal electric field are investigated at temperatures near and above the temperature T d 0 of destruction of the induced ferroelectric state upon heating in zero electric field. The polarization switching current loops are measured in the ac electric field applied along the 〈111〉 and 〈110〉 pseudocubic directions. The electroluminescence intensity loops are obtained under the combined action of ac and dc electric fields applied along the 〈100〉 direction. In a certain temperature range above T d 0 and the freezing temperature T f in lead magnesium niobate, there are electric current anomalies, that correspond to the dynamic formation and subsequent destruction of the ferroelectric macroregions throughout each half-cycle of the ac electric field. The measurements of electroluminescence hysteresis loops demonstrate that the observed depolarization delay (related to the ac electric field amplitude) increases with an increase in the dc electric field and decreases as the ac field amplitude increases. The nature of the observed phenomena is discussed.  相似文献

The field and temperature dependences of the magnetization of GaAs/δ〈Mn〉/GaAs/In x Ga1 ? x As/GaAs quantum wells with the δ〈Mn〉 layer separated from the well by a 3-nm GaAs spacer have been studied in the temperature range of 3–300 K in a magnetic field up to 6 T. An external magnetic-field-induced phase transition to a ferromagnetic state with a magnetization hysteresis loop shifted from a zero magnetic field has been found to occur at a temperature below 40 K. A theoretical model is proposed that implies the coexistence of ferromagnetically and antiferromagnetically ordered regions within the GaAs layers.  相似文献

Cyclotron resonance in n-GaP has been observed at 119 μm in pulsed magnetic fields up to 410 kG. From the experiments with the magnetic field parallel to the 〈100〉, 〈110〉 and 〈111〉 axes, it is concluded that the transverse effective mass for electron is m1⊥/m0 = 0.254 ± 0.004 and that the anisotropy factor of the conduction band is K = 7.9+3.2?2.0. An anomalous shape of the absorption curve was found in the magnetic field directions parallel to the crystal axes 〈110〉 and 〈111〉.  相似文献

The λφ24 Euclidean (quantum) field theory is studied in the multiphase region, and the following results are proven: (1) The “low temperature” expansion converges for Dirichlet (D), free (F), Neumann (N), and periodic (P), boundary conditions, and the even-point Schwinger functions for these boundary conditions have a mass gap; (2) ob = 12〈o〉+ + 12 〈o〉?, where b = D, F, N, P, and 〈o〉± are the pure states of Glimm, Jaffe, and Spencer; (3) 〈o〉±ξ = 〈o〉± for all ξ > 0, where ξ is the buondary field; (4) alternative characterizations of the pure states 〈·〉± are given.  相似文献

The angular dependences of the magnetization and Hall resistance have been investigated by the method of the sample rotation in the magnetic field in the high-quality single-crystal samples in the paramagnetic and magnetically ordered phases of CeB6 in the magnetic field up to 60 kOe. It has been shown that, as CeB6 undergoes the transition from the antiferromagnetic modulated phase to the so-called antiferroquadrupolar phase, the easy-magnetization axis in the [110] plane changes from 〈100〉 to 〈110〉. The magnetic field dependences of the anisotropic component of the magnetization differ radically in these magnetically ordered phases. The analysis provides evidence in favor of the formation of a state with the spin density wave (SDW phase) in the temperature range T N ≈ 2.3 K < T < T Q ≈ 3.3 K in CeB6.  相似文献

The motion of H+ and He+ ions with energies of 230 and 2000 keV in C60 and K3C60 crystals was calculated by the Monte Carlo method. Ion channeling was shown to occur in the 〈100〉 and 〈111〉 directions. The main parameters characterizing channeling were determined. Medium-energy ions were found to be preferable in the detection of channeling in C60 films.  相似文献

The atomic parameters of the average cell of δ1-Bi(Y)O1.5 were determined by powder neutron diffraction. The evidence indicates that the disorder in the structure has many features in common with the structure of the oxygen deficient zirconia. Most oxygens (78%) are in sites displaced 0.335 Å along 〈100〉 directions from the normal fluorite positions, while a smaller proportion (22%) are displaced 0.80 Å along 〈111〉 directions and no oxygen remains in normal positions. In addition to the anion displacements a smaller displacement (0.25 Å) along the 〈111〉 direction was found for the cations. Comparison with the structure of β-Bi2O3 suggests that the displacements may be precursors to a δ→β phase transition.  相似文献

在八个(111)面磁泡膜上,观察了施加面内(in-plane)磁场后在不同晶轴方向上条状畴的消失过程,测量了条畴消失场Hs*和磁畴消失场Hk*与面内磁场的方向的关系。本文计及立方磁晶各向异性,完善了面内磁场中条畴的稳定性理论。用该理论定性地解释了实验结果的主要特点。导出了Hs*与立方各向异性及面内场方向的两种近似的理论关系,它们分别适用于面内场方向靠近和不十分靠近〈110〉晶轴的情形。它们和实验结果是大致符合的。在〈110〉晶轴上,理论关系具有下列简单的形式:Hk*<110>=Hs*<110>=Hk{1+(k1/2Ku)-[al/h(4πMs/Hk)2]2/3},此式与实验结果符合得相当好。 关键词:  相似文献
