As shown by Thanh Hao [Acta Math. Vietnam 31, 283–289, 2006], the solution existence results established by Facchinei and Pang [Finite-Dimensional Variational Inequalities and Complementarity Problems, vol. I (Springer, Berlin, 2003) Prop. 2.2.3 and Theorem 2.3.4] for variational inequalities (VIs) in general and for pseudomonotone VIs in particular, are very useful for studying the range of applicability of the Tikhonov regularization method. This paper proposes some extensions of these results of Facchinei and Pang to the case of generalized variational inequalities (GVI) and of variational inequalities in infinite-dimensional reflexive Banach spaces. Various examples are given to analyze in detail the obtained results. B. T. Kien: On leave from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. Criteria for the super-Poincaré inequality and the weak-Poincaré inequality about ergodic birth-death processes are presented. Our work further completes ten criteria for birth-death processes presented in Table 1.4 (p. 15) of Prof. Mu-Fa Chen's book "Eigenvalues, Inequalities and Ergodic Theory" (Springer, London, 2005). As a byproduct, we conclude that only ergodic birth-death processes on finite state space satisfy the Nash inequality with index 0 ν≤ 2.  相似文献

The affine Weyl group acts on the cohomology (with compact support) of affine Springer fibers (local Springer theory) and of parabolic Hitchin fibers (global Springer theory). In this paper, we show that in both situations, the action of the center of the group algebra of the affine Weyl group (the spherical part) factors through the action of the component group of the relevant centralizers. In the situation of affine Springer fibers, this partially verifies a conjecture of Goresky–Kottwitz–MacPherson and Bezrukavnikov–Varshavsky. We first prove this result for the global Springer action, and then deduce from it the result for the local Springer action. This gives an application of global Springer theory to more classical problems.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a theory of Lyapunov stability of sets for semigroup actions on Tychonoff spaces. We also present the main properties and the main results relating these new concepts. We generalize several concepts and results of Lyapunov stable sets from Bhatia and Hajek (Local Semi-Dynamical Systems. Lecture Notes in Mathematics, vol. 90. Springer, Berlin, 1969), Bhatia and Szegö (Dynamical Systems: Stability Theory and Applications. Lecture Notes in Mathematics, vol. 35. Springer, Berlin, 1967; and Stability Theory of Dynamical Systems. Springer, Berlin, 1970).  相似文献

We introduce the notion of minimal reduction type of an affine Springer fiber, and use it to define a map from the set of conjugacy classes in the Weyl group to the set of nilpotent orbits. We show that this map is the same as the one defined by Lusztig in Lfromto, (2011) and that the Kazhdan–Lusztig map in Kazhdan and Lusztig, (1998) is a section of our map. This settles several conjectures in the literature. For classical groups, we prove more refined results by introducing and studying the “skeleta” of affine Springer fibers.  相似文献

Recall that the Springer correspondence relates representations of the Weyl group to perverse sheaves on the nilpotent cone. We explain how to extend this to an equivalence between the triangulated category generated by the Springer perverse sheaf and the derived category of differential graded modules over a dg-ring related to the Weyl group.  相似文献

This paper establishes an isomorphism between the Bar-Natan skein module of the solid torus with a particular boundary curve system and the homology of the (n, n) Springer variety. The results build on Khovanov’s work with crossingless matchings and the cohomology of the (n, n) Springer variety. We also give a formula for comultiplication in the Bar-Natan skein module for this specific three-manifold and boundary curve system.  相似文献

We consider the Springer fiber over a nilpotent endomorphism. Fix a Jordan basis and consider the standard torus relative to this. We deal with the problem of describing the flags fixed by the torus which belong to a given component of the Springer fiber. We solve the problem in the hook, two-row and two-column cases. We provide two main characterizations which are common to the three cases, and which involve dominance relations between Young diagrams and combinatorial algorithms. Then, for these three cases, we deduce topological properties of the components and their intersections.  相似文献

We generalize Springer representations to the context of groups over a global function field. The global counterpart of the Grothendieck simultaneous resolution is the parabolic Hitchin fibration. We construct an action of the graded double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) on the direct image complex of the parabolic Hitchin fibration. In particular, we get representations of the degenerate graded DAHA on the cohomology of parabolic Hitchin fibers, providing the first step towards a global Springer theory.  相似文献

We determine the Betti numbers of the Springer fibers in type A. To do this, we construct a cell decomposition of the Springer fibers. The codimension of the cells is given by an analogue of the Coxeter length. This makes our cell decomposition well suited for the calculation of Betti numbers.  相似文献

We connect different results about irreducible components of the Springer fibers of type A. Firstly, we show a relation between the Spaltenstein partition of the fibers and a total order on the set of standard Young tableaux. Next, using a result of Steinberg, we connect a work of the first author to the Robinson–Schensted map. We also perform the Spaltenstein study of the relative position of the Springer fibers and -fibrations of the flag manifold. This leads us to consider the adjacency relation on the set of standard Young tableaux and to define oriented and labeled graphs with the standard Young tableaux as vertices. Using this adjacency relation, we describe some smooth irreducible components of the Springer fibers. Finally, we show that these graphs can be identified with some full subgraphs of the Bruhat graph.  相似文献

We define the notion of basic set data for finite groups (building on the notion of basic set, but including an order on the irreducible characters as part of the structure), and we prove that the Springer correspondence provides basic set data for Weyl groups. Then we use this to determine explicitly the modular Springer correspondence for classical types (defined over a base field of odd characteristic p, and with coefficients in a field of odd characteristic ?p): the modular case is obtained as a restriction of the ordinary case to a basic set. In order to do so, we compare the order on bipartitions introduced by Dipper and James with the order induced by the Springer correspondence. We provide a quick proof, by sorting characters according to the dimension of the corresponding Springer fibre, an invariant which is directly computable from symbols.  相似文献

Springer fibers are subvarieties of the flag variety parametrized by partitions; they are central objects of study in geometric representation theory. Schubert varieties are subvarieties of the flag variety that induce a well-known basis for the cohomology of the flag variety. This paper relates these two varieties combinatorially. We prove that the Betti numbers of the Springer fiber associated to a partition with at most three rows or two columns are equal to the Betti numbers of a specific union of Schubert varieties.  相似文献

We use a theorem of Cartlidge and the technique of Redheffer's ``recurrent inequalities" to give some results on inequalities related to Hardy's inequality.

We compute the integral cohomology of the minimal nontrivial nilpotent orbit in a complex simple (or quasi-simple) Lie algebra. We find by a uniform approach that the middle cohomology group is isomorphic to the fundamental group of the parabolic subsystem generated by the long simple roots. The modulo reduction of the Springer correspondent representation (in the parametrization of the original paper by Springer) involves the trivial representation exactly when divides the order of this cohomology group. The primes dividing the torsion of the rest of the cohomology are bad primes.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish several new Hilbert-type inequalities with a homogeneous kernel, involving arithmetic, geometric, and harmonic mean operators in both integral and discrete case. Such inequalities are derived by virtue of some recent results regarding general Hilbert-type inequalities and some well-known classical inequalities. We also prove that the constant factors appearing in established inequalities are the best possible. As an application, we consider some particular settings and compare our results with previously known from the literature.  相似文献
