The Hopf bifurcation of a new modified hyperchaotic Lü system with only one equilibrium is investigated in this paper. A detailed set of conditions are derived, which guarantee the existence of the Hopf bifurcation. Furthermore, by applying the normal form theory, the direction and type of the Hopf bifurcation, and the approximate expressions of bifurcating periodic solutions and their periods are determined. In addition, numerical simulation results supporting the theoretical analysis are given. 相似文献

In this paper, we report a novel effect of a particular kind of non-Gaussian noise (NGN), especially its deviation from Gaussian noise, on the spiking activity in a deterministic Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) neuron. It is found via numerical simulations that the coefficient of variation (CV), characterizing the spiking regularity, nonlinearly changes with varying deviation and passes through a minimum at an optimal deviation value, representing the presence of the coherence resonance (CR). This phenomenon shows that, when the NGN is optimal, the neuron can exhibit the most regular firing behavior. This result provides a constructive role of the NGN in the timing precision of information processing and signal transduction in neural systems. 相似文献

突触输入刺激神经元产生的电活动,在神经编码中发挥着重要作用.通常认为,兴奋性输入增强电活动,抑制性输入压制电活动.本文选取可调节电流衰减速度的突触模型,研究了兴奋性自突触在亚临界Hopf分岔附近压制神经元电活动的反常作用,与抑制性自突触的压制作用进行了比较,并采用相位响应曲线和相平面分析解释了压制作用的机制.对于单稳的峰放电,快速和中速衰减的兴奋性自突触分别可以诱发频率降低的峰放电和混合振荡(峰放电与阈下振荡的交替),而中速和慢速衰减的抑制性自突触也可以分别诱发频率降低的峰放电和混合振荡.对于与静息共存的峰放电,除上述两种行为外,中速衰减的兴奋性和慢速衰减的抑制性自突触还可以诱发静息.兴奋性和抑制性自突触电流在不同的衰减速度下,分别作用在峰放电的不同相位,才能诱发同类压制行为.结果丰富了兴奋性突触压制电活动反常作用的实例,获得了兴奋性和抑制性自突触压制作用机制的不同,给出了调控神经放电的新手段. 相似文献

Synchronization transition of a coupled system composed of neurons with coexisting behaviors near a Hopf bifurcation 下载免费PDF全文
The coexistence of a resting condition and period-1 firing near a subcritical Hopf bifurcation point, lying between the monostable resting condition and period-1 firing, is often observed in neurons of the central nervous systems. Near such a bifurcation point in the Morris-Lecar (ML) model, the attraction domain of the resting condition decreases while that of the coexisting period-1 firing increases as the bifurcation parameter value increases. With the increase of the coupling strength, and parameter and initial value dependent synchronization transition processes from non-synchronization to compete synchronization are simulated in two coupled ML neurons with coexisting behaviors: one neuron chosen as the resting condition and the other the coexisting period-1 firing. The complete synchronization is either a resting condition or period-1 firing dependent on the initial values of period-1 firing when the bifurcation parameter value is small or middle and is period- 1 firing when the parameter value is large. As the bifurcation parameter value increases, the probability of the initial values of a period- 1 firing neuron that lead to complete synchronization of period- 1 firing increases, while that leading to complete synchronization of the resting condition decreases. It shows that the attraction domain of a coexisting behavior is larger, the probability of initial values leading to complete synchronization of this behavior is higher. The bifurcations of the coupled system are investigated and discussed. The results reveal the complex dynamics of synchronization behaviors of the coupled system composed of neurons with the coexisting resting condition and period-1 firing, and are helpful to further identify the dynamics of the spatiotemporal behaviors of the central nervous system. 相似文献

We investigate the effects of the non-Gaussian colored noise on a calcium oscillation system using stochastic simulation methods. It is found that the reciprocal coefficient of variance R has a maximum (R max ) with increasing noise intensity Q. The non-Gaussian noise parameter q has an important effect on the system. For some values of q (e.g., q = 0.9, q = 1.0), R has a maximum with increasing correlation time τ. Non-Gaussian noise induced spikes are more regular than Gaussian noise induced spikes when q is small and Q has large values. The R has a maximum with increasing q. Therefore, non-Gaussian noise could play more effective roles in the calcium oscillation system. 相似文献

Direct time delay feedback can make non-chaotic Chen
circuit chaotic. The chaotic Chen circuit with direct time delay
feedback possesses rich and complex dynamical behaviours. To reach a
deep and clear understanding of the dynamics of such circuits
described by delay differential equations, Hopf bifurcation in the
circuit is analysed using the Hopf bifurcation theory and the
central manifold theorem in this paper. Bifurcation points and
bifurcation directions are derived in detail, which prove to be
consistent with the previous bifurcation diagram. Numerical
simulations and experimental results are given to verify the
theoretical analysis. Hopf bifurcation analysis can explain and
predict the periodical orbit (oscillation) in Chen circuit with
direct time delay feedback. Bifurcation boundaries are derived using
the Hopf bifurcation analysis, which will be helpful for determining
the parameters in the stabilisation of the originally chaotic

A hysteretic Subcritical period-doubling bifurcation is observed in the nonlinear strain dynamics of a magnetostrictive oscillator. The dynamic strain response of the magnetostrictive oscillator was observed with a high-resolution fiber optic interferometer. The effects of low-frequency modulation and band-limited stochastic fluctuations on such a bifurcation are investigated. Power spectral density measurements show that for an optimal value of externally injected noise the signal-to-noise ratio of a low-frequency modulation signal is enhanced by greater than 14 dB, thus indicating the first experimental observation of stochastic resonance near a bistable period-doubling bifurcation. 相似文献

We study the response of a MEMS resonator, driven in an in-plane length-extensional mode of excitation. It is observed that the amplitude of the resulting vibration has an upper bound, i.e., the response shows saturation. We present a model for this phenomenon, incorporating interaction with a bending mode. We show that this model accurately describes the observed phenomena. The in-plane (“trivial”) mode is shown to be stable up to a critical value of the amplitude of the excitation. At this value, a new “bending” branch of solutions bifurcates. For appropriate values of the parameters, a subsequent Hopf bifurcation causes a beating phenomenon, in accordance with experimental observations. 相似文献

通过线性与非线性状态反馈, 实现了对四维Qi系统零平衡点的Hopf分岔反控制.首先确定产生Hopf分岔的线性控制项,得到线性控制增益的选取原则.然后,利用稳定性分析,借助于对线性受控Qi系统的Jordan标准型的直接控制以及适当的变换,确定影响Hopf分岔稳定性的非线性控制项,得到非线性控制增益的选取原则.针对所考虑分岔参数的不同,给出不同的控制方案.最后通过数值模拟验证了理论分析结果的正确性.

Previous works have shown that time asymmetric forcing on the one hand, as well as non-Gaussian noises on the other, can separately enhance the efficiency and current of a Brownian motor. Here, we study the result of subjecting a Brownian motor to both effects simultaneously. Our results have been compared with those obtained for the Gaussian white noise regime in the adiabatic limit. We find that, although the inclusion of the time asymmetry parameter increases the efficiency value up to a certain extent, for the present case this increase is much less appreciable than in the white noise case. We also present a comparative study of the transport coherence in the context of colored noise. Though the efficiency in some cases becomes higher for the non-Gaussian case, the Péclet number is always higher in the Gaussian colored noise case than in the white noise as well as non-Gaussian colored noise cases. 相似文献

To date, there are very few studies on the second Hopf bifurcation in a driven square cavity, although there are intensive investigations focused on the first Hopf bifurcation in literature, due to the difficulties of theoretical analyses and numerical simulations. In this paper, we study the characteristics of the second Hopf bifurcation in a driven square cavity by applying a consistent fourth-order compact finite difference scheme recently developed by us. We numerically identify the critical Reynolds number of the second Hopf bifurcation located in the interval of(11093.75, 11094.3604) by bisection. In addition, we find that there are two dominant frequencies in its spectral diagram when the flow is in the status of the second Hopf bifurcation, while only one dominant frequency is identified if the flow is in the first Hopf bifurcation via the Fourier analysis. More interestingly, the flow phase portrait of velocity components is found to make transition from a regular elliptical closed form for the first Hopf bifurcation to a non-elliptical closed form with self-intersection for the second Hopf bifurcation. Such characteristics disclose flow in a quasi-periodic state when the second Hopf bifurcation occurs. 相似文献

The effect of inhomogeneous fluctuations in a reaction-diffusion system exhibiting a Hopf bifurcation is analyzed using the master equation approach. A Taylor expansion of the logarithm of the stationary probability, known as the stochastic potential, is calculated. This procedure displays marked analogies with the theory of normal forms. The critical potential, reduced to its local expansion around an arbitrary point of the limit cycle, brings out the essential role played by the phase of the oscillating variables. A comparison with the Langevin analysis of Walgraefet al. [J. Chem. Phys.

We study the Hopf bifurcation and the chaos phenomena in a random early detection-based active queue management (RED-AQM) congestion control system with a communication delay. We prove that there is a critical value of the communication delay for the stability of the RED-AQM control system. Furthermore, we show that the system will lose its stability and Hopf bifurcations will occur when the delay exceeds the critical value. When the delay is close to its critical value, we demonstrate that typical chaos patterns may be induced by the uncontrolled stochastic traffic in the RED-AQM control system even if the system is still stable, which reveals a new route to the chaos besides the bifurcation in the network congestion control system. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the theoretical results. 相似文献
