Propagation of small perturbations in a two-layer inviscid stratified fluid is studied. It is assumed that the higher density fluid occupies the lower unbounded half-space, while the lower density fluid occupies the upper unbounded half-space. The source of the excitation is a plane wave traveling along the interface of the fluids. An explicit analytical solution to the problem is constructed, and its existence and uniqueness are proved. The long-time wave pattern developing in the fluids is analyzed.  相似文献

In the context of the finite elasticity theory, we considera model for compressible solids called ‘compressible neo-Hookeanmaterial’. We show how finite-amplitude inhomogeneousplane wave solutions and finite-amplitude unattenuated solutionscan combine to form a finite-amplitude Love wave. We take alayer of finite thickness overlying a solid half-space, bothmade of different prestressed compressible neo-Hookean materials.We derive an exact solution of the equations of motion and boundaryconditions and also obtain results for the energy density andthe energy flux of the waves. Finally, we investigate the specialcase when the interface between the layer and the substrateis in a principal plane of the prestrain. A numerical exampleis given.  相似文献

Consider the scattering of a time-harmonic electromagnetic plane wave by an open cavity embedded in a perfect electrically conducting infinite ground plane, where the electromagnetic wave propagation is governed by the Maxwell equations. The upper half-space is filled with a lossless homogeneous medium above the flat ground surface; while the interior of the cavity is assumed to be filled with a lossy homogeneous medium accounting for the energy absorption. The inverse problem is to determine the cavity structure or the shape of the cavity from the tangential trace of the electric field measured on the aperture of the cavity. In this paper, results on a global uniqueness and a local stability are established for the inverse problem. A crucial step in the proof of the stability is to obtain the existence and characterization of the domain derivative of the electric field with respect to the shape of the cavity.  相似文献

A viscous incompressible fluid between two plane boundaries is stratified by maintaining the planes at different temperatures. The upper plane moves with a uniform velocity. The suction/injection mechanism with constant injection velocity at the upper plane and suction velocity varying sinusoidally along the lower plane with a wave numberk is introduced at the boundaries. The steady linearised equations are solved using similarity variables for the velocity components. The wave numberk is shown to be effective in controlling the boundary layer thickness.  相似文献

The complete 3D dynamic Green’s functions in the multilayered poroelastic media are presented in this study. A method of potentials in cylindrical coordinate system is applied first to decouple the Biot’s wave equations into four scalar Helmholtz equations, and then, general solutions to 3D wave propagation problems are obtained. After that, a three vector base and the propagator matrix method are introduced to treat 3D wave propagation problems in the stratified poroelastic half-space disturbed by buried sources. It is known that the original propagator algorithm has the loss-of-precision problem when the waves become evanescent. At present, an orthogonalization procedure is inserted into the matrix propagation loop to avoid the numerical difficulty of the original propagator algorithm. At last, the validity of the present approach for accurate and efficient calculating 3D dynamic Green’s functions of a multilayered poroelastic half-space is confirmed by comparing the numerical results with the known exact analytical solutions of a uniform poroelastic half-space.  相似文献

A new approach for constructing functionally invariant solutions for dynamic problems of the plane theory of elasticity of anisotropic media is proposed. Solutions of the equations of motion in displacements and potentials, which express plane waves and waves from a point source, and also complex solutions of a general type are obtained and investigated. The problem of the reflection of plane waves from the boundary of a half-space is solved for comparison with earlier results [1]. The solutions obtained agree with the physical meaning of the problems and with the solutions for isotropic media.  相似文献

The problem of Stoneley waves in a non-homogeneous orthotropic elastic medium under the influence of gravity was studied recently by Abd-Alla and Ahmed [A.M. Abd-Alla, S.M. Ahmed, Stoneley waves and Rayleigh waves in a non-homogeneous orthotropic elastic medium under the influence of gravity, Appl. Math. Comput. 135 (2003) 187–200], who derived the secular equation of the wave in the implicit form. In this paper, by using an appropriate representation of the solution, we obtain the secular equation of the wave in the explicit form. Moreover, considering its special cases, we derive explicit secular equations for a number of investigations of Stoneley waves under the influence of gravity, for which only the implicit dispersion equations were previously obtained.  相似文献

In the present paper, we consider the discrete sources method as applied to the analysis of a scalar problem of the diffraction of a plane wave on a particle partly immersed in an absorbing half-space. The convergence of the method is proved with the use of a system of surface integral equations. We prove the Fredholm property of the obtained system and its unique solvability.  相似文献

The effect of pre-stress on the propagation and reflection ofplane waves in an incompressible isotropic elastic half-spacehas been examined recently by the authors (Ogden & Sotiropoulos,1997). In the present paper the corresponding analysis for compressiblematerials is detailed. In the two-dimensional context consideredfor incompressible materials the (homogeneous) plane waves werenecessarily shear waves. By contrast, in the compressible contextpure shear waves can propagate only in specific directions inthe considered principal plane and, in a general direction,a quasi-shear wave may be accompanied by a quasi-longitudinalwave, as is the case in the anisotropic linear theory. The dependenceof the (in-plane) slowness section on the pre-stress (and finitedeformation) and on the choice of constitutive law is elucidated.This information is used to determine the reflection coefficientsfor reflection of either a (quasi-) shear wave or a (quasi-)longitudinal wave from the boundary of the half-space and tocharacterize the different cases which arise depending on thegeometry of the slowness section. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical calculationsfor the range of possible types of behaviour with referenceforms of strain-energy function and different states of finitedeformation and to the question of stability of the half-space.  相似文献

采用解析的方法研究了饱和地基上受一简谐竖向荷载作用下弹性基础的动力响应.在分析中,首先利用积分变换技术获得了饱和介质基本控制方程的变换解,然后基于基础-半空间完全放松接触、半空间表面完全透水或不透水的假设,建立了该动力混合边值问题的对偶积分方程,并把该对偶积分方程进一步化为易于数值求解的第二类Fredholm积分方程A·D2文末数值算例给出了动力柔度系数、位移和孔隙水压力随振动频域和土-基础体系物理力学参数特性的变化曲线.结果表明:饱和地基上弹性基础的动力响应完全不同于饱和地基上刚性圆板的动力响应.所用方法可用于研究波的传播、土-结构动力相互作用等许多问题.  相似文献

At the present time a number of papers has been already devoted to the dynamics of two-phase media. One may mention the papers by Frenkel' [1], Rakhmatulin [2], Biot [3,4], Zwikker and Kosten [5], and others. However, the basic problem of the setting up of the equations of motion in two-phase media still cannot be considered solved and requires additional study and experimental verification.

This paper is concerned with the study of the simplest case of motion, which is the propagation of elastic waves in a homogeneous isotropic medium consisting of a solid and a fluid phase. The problems of the reflection of plane waves and surface waves at the free boundary of the half-space are solved. It is shown that the stress-strain relations established by Frenkel' are equivalent to the analogous relations proposed by Biot and that the equations of motion of the latter are more general.  相似文献

A numerical-analytical solution to problems of seismic and acoustic-gravitational wave propagation is applied to a heterogeneous Earth-Atmosphere model. The seismic wave propagation in an elastic half-space is described by a system of first order dynamic equations of the elasticity theory. The propagation of acoustic-gravitational waves in the atmosphere is described by the linearized Navier-Stokes equations. The algorithm proposed is based on the integral Laguerre transform with respect to time, the finite integral Bessel transform along the radial coordinate with a finite difference solution of the reduced problem along the vertical coordinate. The algorithm is numerically tested for the heterogeneous Earth-Atmosphere model for different source locations.  相似文献

In this paper, mathematical modeling of the propagation of Love waves in a fluid-saturated porous layer under a rigid boundary and lying over an elastic half-space under gravity has been considered. The equations of motion have been formulated separately for different media under suitable boundary conditions at the interface of porous layer, elastic half-space under gravity and rigid layer. Following Biot, the frequency equation has been derived which contain Whittaker’s function and its derivative that have been expanded asymptotically up to second term (for approximate result) for large argument due to small values of Biot’s gravity parameter (varying from 0 to 1). The effect of porosity and gravity of the layers in the propagation of Love waves has been studied. The effect of hydrostatic initial stress generated due to gravity in the half-space has also been shown in the phase velocity of Love waves. The phase velocity of Love waves for first two modes has been presented graphically. Frequency equations have also been derived for some particular cases, which are in perfect agreement with standard results. Subsequently the lower and upper bounds of Love wave speed have also been discussed.  相似文献

在充满两种互不相溶粘性流体的多孔固体中,研究弹性波的传播.用3个数性的势函数描述3个纵波的传播,用1个矢性的势函数单独描述横波的传播.根据这些势函数,在不同的组合相中,定义出质点的位移.可以看出,可能存在3个纵波和1个横波.在一个弹性固体半空间与一个充满两种互不相溶粘性流体的多孔固体半空间之间,研究其界面上入射纵波和横波所引起的反射和折射现象.由于孔隙流体中有粘性,折射到多孔介质中的波,朝垂直界面方向偏离.将入射波引起的反射波和折射波的波幅比,作为非奇异的线性代数方程组计算.进一步通过这些波幅比,计算出各个被离散波在入射波能量中所占的份额.通过一个特殊的数值模型,计算出波幅比和能量比系数随入射角的变化.超过SV波的临界入射角,反射波P将不再出现.越过界面的能量守恒原理得到了验证.绘出了图形并对不同孔隙饱和度以及频率的变化,讨论它们对能量分配的影响.  相似文献

An analytical version of the discrete-ordinates method is used to derive solutions for a class of problems defined in terms of the S-model kinetic equations. In addition to a general derivation, which is common to all the problems, specific analytical and computational aspects for each one of the problems are presented. In particular, numerical results for velocity profile, heat-flow profile and flow rates are obtained with high accuracy for the plane channel problems. Using a boundary method, we investigated the scattering of elastic plane harmonic SH, SV, P, and Rayleigh waves by three-dimensional nonaxisymmetric dipping layers embedded in an elastic half-space. The valley was subjected to incident Rayleigh wave and oblique incident SH, SV, and P waves. The method utilized spherical wave functions to express the unknown scattered field. These functions satisfy the equation of motion and radiation conditions at infinity but they do not satisfy the stress-free boundary conditions at the surface of the half-space. The boundary and continuity conditions are imposed locally in the least-square-sense at several points on the layer interface and on the surface of the half-space. A comparative study was done to examine the validity and limitations of the two-dimensional approximations (antiplane and plane strain models) of three-dimensional models. It is demonstrated that the two-dimensional approximations may be inadequate to represent actual displacement field for three-dimensional irregularities.  相似文献
