The electron-transfer reaction between reduced cobalamin (Cbl(II)) and sodium pentacyanonitrosylferrate(II) (sodium nitroprusside, NP), as well as the subsequent processes following the electron-transfer step, were investigated by spectroscopic (UV-vis, (1)H NMR, EPR), electrochemical (CV, DPV) and kinetic (stopped-flow) techniques. In an effort to clarify the complex reaction pattern observed at physiological pH, systematic spectroscopic and kinetic studies were undertaken as a function of pH (1.8-9) and NP concentration (0.0001 - 0.09 M). The kinetics of the electron-transfer reaction was studied under pseudo-first-order conditions with respect to NP. The reaction occurs in two parallel paths of different order, viz. pseudo-first and pseudo-second order with respect to the NP concentration, respectively. The contribution of each path depends on pH and the [NP]/[Cbl(II)] ratio. At low pH and total NP concentration (pH < 3, [NP]/[Cbl(II)] approximately 1), the cyano-bridged successor complex [Cbl(III)-(mu-NC)-Fe(I)(CN)(3)(NO(+))](-) (1(s)()) is the final reaction product formed in an inner-sphere electron transfer reaction that is coupled to the release of cyanide from coordinated nitroprusside. At higher pH, subsequent reactions were observed which involve the attack of cyanide released in the electron transfer step on the initially formed cyano-bridged species, and lead to the formation of Cbl(III)CN and [Fe(I)(CN)(4)(NO(+))](2)(-). The strong dependence of the rate and mechanism of the subsequent reactions on pH is attributed to the large variation in the effective nucleophilicity of the cyanide ligand in the studied pH range. An alternative electron-transfer pathway observed in the presence of excess NP involves the reaction of the precursor complex [Cbl(II)-(mu-NC)-Fe(II)(CN)(4)(NO(+))](2)(-) (1(p)()) with NP to give [Cbl(III)-(mu-NC)-Fe(II)(CN)(4)(NO(+))](-) (2) and reduced nitroprusside, [Fe(CN)(5)NO](3)(-), as the initial reaction products. Analysis of the kinetic data allowed elucidation of the rate constants for the inner- and outer-sphere electron-transfer pathways. The main factors which influence the kinetics and thermodynamics of the observed electron-transfer steps are discussed on the basis of the spectroscopic, kinetic and electrochemical results. A general picture of the reaction pathways that occur on a short (s) and long (min to h) time scale as a function of pH and relative reactant concentrations is derived from the experimental data. In addition, the release of NO resulting from the one-electron reduction of NP by Cbl(II) was monitored with the use of a sensitive NO electrode. The results obtained in the present study are discussed in reference to the possible influence of cobalamin on the pharmacological action of nitroprusside.  相似文献

The generation of metal cyanide ions in the gas phase by laser ablation of M(CN)(2) (M = Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, Hg), Fe(III)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)] x xH(2)O, Ag(3)[M(CN)(6)] (M = Fe, Co), and Ag(2)[Fe(CN)(5)(NO)] has been investigated using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. Irradiation of Zn(CN)(2) and Cd(CN)(2) produced extensive series of anions, [Zn(n)(CN)(2n+1)](-) (1 < or = n < or = 27) and [Cd(n)(CN)(2n+1)](-) (n = 1, 2, 8-27, and possibly 29, 30). Cations Hg(CN)(+) and [Hg(2)(CN)(x)](+) (x = 1-3), and anions [Hg(CN)(x)](-) (x = 2, 3), are produced from Hg(CN)(2). Irradiation of Fe(III)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)] x xH(2)O gives the anions [Fe(CN)(2)](-), [Fe(CN)(3)](-), [Fe(2)(CN)(3)](-), [Fe(2)(CN)(4)](-), and [Fe(2)(CN)(5)](-). When Ag(3)[Fe(CN)(6)] is ablated, [AgFe(CN)(4)](-) and [Ag(2)Fe(CN)(5)](-) are observed together with homoleptic anions of Fe and Ag. The additional heterometallic complexes [AgFe(2)(CN)(6)](-), [AgFe(3)(CN)(8)](-), [Ag(2)Fe(2)(CN)(7)](-), and [Ag(3)Fe(CN)(6)](-) are observed on ablation of Ag(2)[Fe(CN)(5)(NO)]. Homoleptic anions [Co(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(n)(CN)(n+2)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(2)(CN)(4)](-), and [Co(3)(CN)(5)](-) are formed when anhydrous Co(CN)(2) is the target. Ablation of Ag(3)[Co(CN)(6)] yields cations [Ag(n)(CN)(n-1)](+) (n = 1-4) and [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n)](+) (n = 1, 2) and anions [Ag(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3), [Co(n)(CN)(n-1)](-) (n = 1, 2), [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n+2)](-) (n = 1, 2), and [Ag(n)Co(CN)(n+3)](-) (n = 0-2). The Ni(I) species [Ni(n)(CN)(n-1)](+) (n = 1-4) and [Ni(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) (n = 1-3) are produced when anhydrous Ni(CN)(2) is irradiated. In all cases, CN(-) and polyatomic carbon nitride ions C(x)N(y)(-) are formed concurrently. On the basis of density functional calculations, probable structures are proposed for most of the newly observed species. General structural features are low coordination numbers, regular trigonal coordination stereochemistry for d(10) metals but distorted trigonal stereochemistry for transition metals, the occurrence of M-CN-M and M(-CN-)(2)M bridges, addition of AgCN to terminal CN ligands, and the occurrence of high spin ground states for linear [M(n)(CN)(n+1)](-) complexes of Co and Ni.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism of the [Ru(III)(edta)(H(2)O)](-)-mediated oxidation of cysteine (RSH) by hydrogen peroxide (edta(4-) = ethylenediaminetetraacetate), were studied in detail as a function of both the hydrogen peroxide and cysteine concentrations at pH 5.1 and room temperature. The kinetic traces reveal clear evidence for a catalytic process in which hydrogen peroxide reacts directly with cysteine coordinated to the Ru(III)(edta) complex in the form of [Ru(III)(edta)SR](2-). A parallel process in which [Ru(III)(edta)(H(2)O)](-) first reacts with H(2)O(2) to produce [Ru(V)(edta)O](-) and subsequently oxidizes cysteine, is orders of magnitude slower than the [Ru(III)(edta)(H(2)O)](-)-mediated oxidation in which cysteine rapidly coordinates to [Ru(III)(edta)(H(2)O)](-) prior to the reaction with H(2)O(2). HPLC product analyses revealed the formation of cystine (RSSR) as major product along with cysteine sulfinic acid (RSO(2)H) in the reaction system, and established the catalytic role of [Ru(III)(edta)(H(2)O)](-). Simulations were performed to account for the rather complex kinetic traces in terms of the suggested reaction mechanism. The results of the simulations support the proposed reaction mechanism that involves the oxidation of coordinated cysteine to cysteine sulfenic acid (RSOH), which subsequently rapidly reacts with H(2)O(2) and RSH to form RSO(2)H and RSSR, respectively.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties of 13 new homo- and heterometallic Co(II) complexes containing the artificial amino acid 2-amino-isobutyric acid, aibH, are reported: [Co(II)(4)(aib)(3)(aibH)(3)(NO(3))](NO(3))(4)·2.8CH(3)OH·0.2H(2)O (1·2.8CH(3)OH·0.2H(2)O), {Na(2)[Co(II)(2)(aib)(2)(N(3))(4)(CH(3)OH)(4)]}(n) (2), [Co(II)(6)La(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(4)(CH(3)CN)(2)]·0.5[La(NO(3))(6)]·0.75(ClO(4))·1.75(NO(3))·3.2CH(3)CN·5.9H(2)O (3·3.2CH(3)CN·5.9H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Pr(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Pr(NO(3))(5)]·0.41[Pr(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·0.59[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.2(ClO(4))·0.25H(2)O (4·0.25H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Nd(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.8)(CH(3)OH)(4.7)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·2.7(ClO(4))·0.5(NO(3))·2.26CH(3)OH·0.24H(2)O (5·2.26CH(3)OH·0.24H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Sm(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Sm(NO(3))(5)]·0.44[Sm(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(1.5)]·0.56[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.22(ClO(4))·0.3H(2)O (6·0.3H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Eu(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)OH)(4.87)(H(2)O)(1.13)](ClO(4))(2.5)(NO(3))(0.5)·2.43CH(3)OH·0.92H(2)O (7·2.43CH(3)OH·0.92H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Gd(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.9)(CH(3)OH)(4.9)(H(2)O)(1.2)]·2.6(ClO(4))·0.5(NO(3))·2.58CH(3)OH·0.47H(2)O (8·2.58CH(3)OH·0.47H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Tb(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·[Tb(NO(3))(5)]·0.034[Tb(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(0.5)]·0.656[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.343(ClO(4))·0.3H(2)O (9·0.3H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Dy(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(2.9)(CH(3)OH)(4.92)(H(2)O)(1.18)](ClO(4))(2.6)(NO(3))(0.5)·2.5CH(3)OH·0.5H(2)O (10·2.5CH(3)OH·0.5H(2)O), [Co(II)(6)Ho(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CN)(6)]·0.27[Ho(NO(3))(3)(ClO(4))(0.35)(H(2)O)(0.15)]·0.656[Co(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)]·0.171(ClO(4)) (11), [Co(II)(6)Er(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(4)(NO(3))(2)(CH(3)CN)(2.5)(H(2)O)(3.5)](ClO(4))(3)·CH(3)CN·0.75H(2)O (12·CH(3)CN·0.75H(2)O), and [Co(II)(6)Tm(III)(aib)(6)(OH)(3)(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)(6)]·1.48(ClO(4))·1.52(NO(3))·3H(2)O (13·3H(2)O). Complex 1 describes a distorted tetrahedral metallic cluster, while complex 2 can be considered to be a 2-D coordination polymer. Complexes 3-13 can all be regarded as metallo-cryptand encapsulated lanthanides in which the central lanthanide ion is captivated within a [Co(II)(6)] trigonal prism. dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies have been carried out in the 2-300 K range for complexes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 13, revealing the possibility of single molecule magnetism behavior for complex 10.  相似文献

Five novel lanthanoid-containing silicotungstates with polymeric crystal structures [Ln(2)(H(2)O)(7)Si(2)W(18)O(66)](n)(10n-) [Ln = Gd(III) (Gd-1 and Gd-2), Tb(III), Ho(III)] and [Dy(2)(H(2)O)(6.5)(C(2)H(4)O(2))(0.5)Si(2)W(18)O(66)](n)(10n-) were obtained from the one-step reaction of Na(10)[SiW(9)O(34)]·nH(2)O with Ln(NO(3))(3)·nH(2)O in a sodium acetate buffer. The compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and a wide range of analytical methods, including FT-IR, UV/vis, and photoluminescence spectroscopy as well as electrochemistry and thermogravimetric analysis. This new polyoxotungstate series is the first example of lanthanoids embedded in the open Wells-Dawson silicotungstate anion [α-Si(2)W(18)O(66)](16-). The lanthanoid-containing Wells-Dawson-type polyoxoanions [Ln(2)(H(2)O)(7)Si(2)W(18)O(66)](10-) [Ln = Gd(III) (Gd-1 and Gd-2), Tb(III), Ho(III)] and [Dy(2)(H(2)O)(6.5)(C(2)H(4)O(2))(0.5)Si(2)W(18)O(66)](10-) are linked by Ln(3+) cations to form 3D architectures for Gd-1 or 2D frameworks for the isostructural compounds Tb-2, Dy-2, Ho-2, and Gd-2. The structure-directing influence of the lanthanoid cation on the local structure of the dimeric building blocks and on the crystal packing motifs is investigated in detail. The photoluminescence properties of Tb-2 and Dy-2 were investigated at room temperature, and Ho-2 exhibits an interesting photochromic behavior. The magnetic susceptibility of Gd-1 and Gd-2 was studied in the temperature range between 2 and 300 K for its effective magnetic moment.  相似文献

The outer-sphere oxidation of Fe(II) in the mixed-valence complex trans-[L(14S)Co(III)NCFe(II)(CN)(6)](-), being L(14S) an N(3)S(2) macrocylic donor set on the cobalt(III) center, has been studied. The comparison with the known processes of N(5) macrocycle complexes has been carried out in view of the important differences occurring on the redox potential of the cobalt center. The results indicate that the outer-sphere oxidation reactions with S(2)O(8)(2-) and [Co(ox)(3)](3-) involve a great amount of solvent-assisted hydrogen bonding that, as a consequence from the change from two amines to sulfur donors, are more restricted. This is shown by the more positive values found for DeltaS(#) and DeltaV(#). The X-ray structure of the oxidized complex has been determined, and it is clearly indicative of the above-mentioned solvent-assisted hydrogen bonding between nitrogen and cyanide donors on the cobalt and iron centers, respectively. trans-[L(14S)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], as well as the analogous N(5) systems trans-[L(14)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], trans-[L(15)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], and cis-[L(13)Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(6)], oxidize water to hydrogen peroxide at pH > 10 with a rather simple stoichiometry, i.e., [L(n)()Co(III)NCFe(III)(CN)(5)] + OH(-) --> [L(n)()Co(III)NCFe(II)(CN)(5)](-) + (1)/(2)H(2)O(2). In this way, the reversibility of the iron oxidation process is achieved. The determination of kinetic and thermal and pressure activation parameters for this water to hydrogen peroxide oxidation leads to the kinetic determination of a cyanide based OH(-) adduct of the complex. A second-order dependence on the base concentration is associated with deprotonation of this adduct to produce the final inner-sphere reduction process. The activation enthalpies are found to be extremely low (15 to 35 kJ mol(-1)) and responsible for the very fast reaction observed. The values of DeltaS(#) and DeltaV(#) (-76 to -113 J K(-1) mol(-1) and -5.5 to -8.9 cm(3) mol(-1), respectively) indicate a highly organized but not very compressed transition state in agreement with the inner-sphere one-electron transfer from O(2-) to Fe(III).  相似文献

The promising BioDeNO(x) process for NO removal from gaseous effluents suffers from an unsolved problem that results from the oxygen sensitivity of the Fe(II)-aminopolycarboxylate complexes used in the absorber unit to bind NO(g). The utilized [Fe(II)(EDTA)(H2O)](2-) complex is extremely oxygen sensitive and easily oxidized to give a totally inactive [Fe(III)(EDTA)(H2O)](-) species toward the binding of NO(g). We found that an in situ formed, less-oxygen-sensitive mixed-ligand complex, [Fe(II)(EDTA)(F)](3-), still reacts quantitatively with NO(g). The formation constant for the mixed ligand complex was determined spectrophotometrically. For [Fe(III)(EDTA)(F)](2-) we found log K(MLF)(F) = 1.7 +/- 0.1. The [Fe(II)(EDTA)(F)](3-) complex has a smaller value of log K(MLF)(F) = 1.3 +/- 0.2. The presence of fluoride does not affect the reversible binding of NO(g). Even over extended periods of time and fluoride concentrations of up to 1.0 M, the nitrosyl complex does not undergo any significant decomposition. The [Fe(III)(EDTA)(NO(-))](2-) complex releases bound NO on passing nitrogen through the solution to form [Fe(II)(EDTA)(H2O)](2-) almost completely. A reaction cycle is feasible in which fluoride inhibits the autoxidation of [Fe(II)(EDTA)(H2O)](2-) during the reversible binding of NO(g).  相似文献

We explore the molecular properties of adsorbates that dramatically affect growth kinetics and morphology of the [100] face of archerite, also known as potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH(2)PO(4) or KDP). Aqueous complexes of Al(III), Fe(III), and Cr(III) are known to affect KDP growth, albeit the actual step-pinning complex(es) is unknown. Using in situ atomic force microscopy (AFM), we measured changes in the growth rates of the [100] face of KDP with supersaturation in the presence of trace amounts of [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+), [Fe(CN)(6)](3-), eta(1)-[Co(NH(3))(5)HPO(4)](+), eta(2)-[Co(NH(3))(4)HPO(4)](+), eta(2)-[Co(NH(3))(4)P(2)O(7)H(2)](+), and [Rh(H(2)PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](+). Unlike in experiments using trivalent-metals, these complexes do not change stoichiometry or structure on the timescale of step motion, so that the actual molecular interactions that affect growth can be studied. Step velocity and morphology on the [100] face are unaffected by outer-sphere coordination complexes of either charge. Surprisingly, inner-sphere phosphatoammine complexes do not affect growth rates regardless of how the phosphate group is coordinated to the metal. However, doping the growth solution with [Rh(H(2)PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](+) results in profound step pinning, matching the behavior of KDP surfaces grown in the presence of Rh(III) after an equilibration period. Not only is an inner-sphere phosphate group needed to dock a trivalent metal to the step edge, but compatible hydrogen bonding of the remainder of the inner-sphere ligands with the bulk lattice is also essential.  相似文献

The cobalt(III) complexes, [(NH3)5CoBr]2+ and [(NH3)5CoI]2+ are reduced by Ti(II) solutions containing Ti(IV), generating nearly linear (zero-order) profiles that become curved only during the last few percent of reaction. Other Co(III)-Ti(II) systems exhibit the usual exponential traces with rates proportional to [Co(III)]. Observed kinetics of the biphasic catalyzed Ti(II)-Co(III)Br and Ti(II)-Co(III)I reactions support the reaction sequence: [Ti(II)(H20)n]2+ + [Ti(IV)F5]- (k1)<==>(k -1) [Ti(II)(H2O)(n-1)]2+ + [(H2O)Ti(IV)F5]-, [Ti(II)(H2O)(n-1)]2+ + Co(III) (k2)--> Ti(III) + Co(II) with rates determined mainly by the slow Ti(IV)-Ti(II) ligand exchange (k1 = 9 x 10(-3) M(-1) s(-1) at 22 degrees C). Computer simulations of the catalyzed Ti(II)-Co(III) reaction in perchlorate-triflate media yield relative rates for reduction by the proposed active [Ti(II)(H2O)(n-1)]2+ intermediate; k(Br)/k(I) = 8.  相似文献

The reaction of fac(S)-[Co(aet)(3)](aet = aminoethanethiolate) with [PdCl(4)](2-) in a 2:1 ratio in water gave an S-bridged Co(III)Pd(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex composed of two mer(S)-[Co(aet)(3)] units, [Pd[Co(aet)(3)](2)](2+)([1](2+)). In [1](2+), each of the two mer(S)-[Co(aet)(3)] units is bound to a square-planar Pd(II) ion through two of three thiolato groups, leaving two non-bridging thiolato groups at the terminal. Of two geometrical forms, syn and anti, possible for [Pd[Co(aet)(3)](2)](2+), which arise from the difference in arrangement of two terminal non-bridging thiolato groups, [1](2+) afforded only the syn form. A similar reaction of fac(S)-[Co(aet)(3)] with [PtCl(4)](2-) or trans-[PtCl(2)(NH(3))(2)] produced an analogous Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex, [Pt[Co(aet)(3)](2)](2+)([2](2+)), but both the syn and anti forms were formed for [2](2+). Complexes [1](2+) and syn- and anti-[2](2+), which exclusively exist as a racemic(DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda) form, were successfully optically resolved with use of [Sb(2)(R,R-tartrato)(2)](2-) as the resolving agent. The reaction of syn-[2](2+) with [AuCl[S(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(2)]] led to the formation of an S-bridged Co(III)(4)Pt(II)(2)Au(I)(2) octanuclear metallacycle, [Au(2)[Pt[Co(aet)(3)](2)](2)](6+)([3](6+)), while the corresponding reaction of anti-[2](2+) afforded a different product ([[4](3+)](n)) that is assumed to have a polymeric structure in [[Au[Pt[Co(aet)(3)](2)]](3+)](n).  相似文献

A kinetic study of the reaction between a diiron(II) complex [Fe(II)(2)(mu-OH)(2)(6-Me(3)-TPA)(2)](2+) 1, where 6-Me(3)-TPA = tris(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine, and dioxygen is presented. A diiron(III) peroxo complex [Fe(III)(2)(mu-O)(mu-O(2))(6-Me(3)-TPA)(2)](2+) 2 forms quantitatively in dichloromethane at temperatures from -80 to -40 degrees C. The reaction is first order in [Fe(II)(2)] and [O(2)], with the activation parameters DeltaH(double dagger) = 17 +/- 2 kJ mol(-1) and DeltaS(double dagger) = -175 +/- 20 J mol(-1) K(-1). The reaction rate is not significantly influenced by the addition of H(2)O or D(2)O. The reaction proceeds faster in more polar solvents (acetone and acetonitrile), but the yield of 2 is not quantitative in these solvents. Complex 1 reacts with NO at a rate about 10(3) faster than with O(2). The mechanistic analysis suggests an associative rate-limiting step for the oxygenation of 1, similar to that for stearoyl-ACP Delta(9)-desaturase, but distinct from the probable dissociative pathway of methane monoxygenase. An eta(1)-superoxo Fe(II)Fe(III) species is a likely steady-state intermediate during the oxygenation of complex 1.  相似文献

The lipoxygenase mimic [Fe(III)(PY5)(OH)](CF3SO3)2 is synthesized from the reaction of [Fe(II)(PY5)(MeCN)](CF3SO3)2 with iodosobenzene, with low-temperature studies suggesting the possible intermediacy of an Fe(IV) oxo species. The Fe(III)-OH complex is isolated and identified by a combination of solution and solid-state methods, including EPR and IR spectroscopy. [Fe(III)(PY5)(OH)](2+) reacts with weak X-H bonds in a manner consistent with hydrogen-atom abstraction. The composition of this complex allows meaningful comparisons to be made with previously reported Mn(III)-OH and Fe(III)-OMe lipoxygenase mimics. The bond dissociation energy (BDE) of the O-H bond formed upon reduction to [Fe(II)(PY5)(H2O)]2+ is estimated to be 80 kcal mol(-1), 2 kcal mol(-1) lower than that in the structurally analogous [Mn(II)(PY5)(H2O)]2+ complex, supporting the generally accepted idea that Mn(III) is the thermodynamically superior oxidant at parity of coordination sphere. The identity of the metal has a large influence on the entropy of activation for the reaction with 9,10-dihydroanthracene; [Mn(III)(PY5)(OH)]2+ has a 10 eu more negative DeltaS++ value than either [Fe(III)(PY5)(OH)]2+ or [Fe(III)(PY5)(OMe)]2+, presumably because of the increased structural reorganization that occurs upon reduction to [Mn(II)(PY5)(H2O)]2+. The greater enthalpic driving force for the reduction of Mn(III) correlates with [Mn(III)(PY5)(OH)]2+ reacting more quickly than [Fe(III)(PY5)(OH)]2+. Curiously, [Fe(III)(PY5)(OMe)]2+ reacts with substrates only about twice as fast as [Fe(III)(PY5)(OH)]2+, despite a 4 kcal mol(-1) greater enthalpic driving force for the methoxide complex.  相似文献

cis-[Ru(NO)Cl(pyca)(2)] (pyca = 2-pyridinecarboxylato), in which the two pyridyl nitrogen atoms of the two pyca ligands coordinate at the trans position to each other and the two carboxylic oxygen atoms at the trans position to the nitrosyl ligand and the chloro ligand, respectively (type I shown as in Chart 1), reacted with NaOCH(3) to generate cis-[Ru(NO)(OCH(3))(pyca)(2)] (type I). The geometry of this complex was confirmed to be the same as the starting complex by X-ray crystallography: C(13.5)H(13)N(3)O(6.5)Ru; monoclinic, P2(1)/n; a = 8.120(1), b = 16.650(1), c = 11.510(1) A; beta = 99.07(1) degrees; V = 1536.7(2) A(3); Z = 4. The cis-trans geometrical change reaction occurred in the reactions of cis-[Ru(NO)(OCH(3))(pyca)(2)] (type I) in water and alcohol (ROH, R = CH(3), C(2)H(5)) to form [[trans-Ru(NO)(pyca)(2)](2)(H(3)O(2))](+) (type V) and trans-[Ru(NO)(OR)(pyca)(2)] (type V). The reactions of the trans-form complexes, trans-[Ru(NO)(H(2)O)(pyca)(2)](+) (type V) and trans-[Ru(NO)(OCH(3))(pyca)(2)] (type V), with Cl(-) in hydrochloric acid solution afforded the cis-form complex, cis-[Ru(NO)Cl(pyca)(2)] (type I). The favorable geometry of [Ru(NO)X(pyca)(2)](n)(+) depended on the nature of the coexisting ligand X. This conclusion was confirmed by theoretical, synthetic, and structural studies. The mono-pyca-containing nitrosylruthenium complex (C(2)H(5))(4)N[Ru(NO)Cl(3)(pyca)] was synthesized by the reaction of [Ru(NO)Cl(5)](2)(-) with Hpyca and characterized by X-ray structural analysis: C(14)H(24)N(3)O(3)Cl(3)Ru; triclinic, Ponemacr;, a = 7.631(1), b = 9.669(1), c = 13.627(1) A; alpha = 83.05(2), beta = 82.23(1), gamma = 81.94(1) degrees; V = 981.1(1) A(3); Z = 2. The type II complex of cis-[Ru(NO)Cl(pyca)(2)] was synthesized by the reaction of [Ru(NO)Cl(3)(pyca)](-) or [Ru(NO)Cl(5)](2)(-) with Hpyca and isolated by column chromatography. In methanol or chloroform/methanol solutions, reactions of Cltpy or MeOtpy (Rtpy = 4'-R-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine) with CoX(2)·xH(2)O (X(-) = Cl(-), [OAc](-), [NO(3)](-) or [BF(4)](-)) result in the formation of equilibrium mixtures of [Co(Rtpy)(2)](2+) and [Co(Rtpy)X(2)]. A study of the solution speciation has been carried out using (1)H NMR spectroscopy, aided by the dispersion of signals in the paramagnetically shifted spectra; on going from a low- to high-spin cobalt(II) complex, proton H(6) of the tpy ligand undergoes a significant shift to higher frequency. For R = Cl and X(-) = [OAc](-), increasing the amount of CD(3)OD in the CD(3)OD/CDCl(3) solvent mixture affects both the relative proportions of [Co(Cltpy)(2)](2+) and [Co(Cltpy)(OAc)(2)] and the chemical shifts of the (1)H NMR resonances arising from [Co(Cltpy)(OAc)(2)]. When the solvent is essentially CDCl(3), the favoured species is [Co(Cltpy)(OAc)(2)]. For the 4'-methoxy-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, the speciation of mono- and bis(terpyridine)cobalt(II) complexes depends upon the anion, solvent and ligand:Co(2+) ion ratio. The (1)H NMR spectrum of [Co(MeOtpy)(2)](2+) is virtually independent of anion and solvent. In contrast, the signals arising from [Co(MeOtpy)X(2)] depend on the anion and solvent. In the case of X(-) = [BF(4)](-), we propose that the mono(tpy) complex formed in solution is [Co(MeOtpy)L(n)](2+) (L = H(2)O or solvent, n = 1-3). The formation of mono(tpy) species has been confirmed by the solid state structures of [Co(Cltpy)(OAc-O)(OAc-O,O')], [Co(MeOtpy)(OAc-O)(OAc-O,O')], [Co(MeOtpy)(NO(3)-O)(2)(OH(2))] and [Co(MeOtpy)Cl(2)]. The single crystal structure of the cobalt(III) complex [Co(Cltpy)Cl(3)]·CHCl(3) is also reported.  相似文献

A series of linear-type Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complexes composed of C(2)-cis(S)-[Co(aet)(2)(en)](+) (aet = 2-aminoethanethiolate) and/or Lambda(D)-trans(N)-[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)(2)](-) (D-pen = D-penicillaminate) were newly prepared, and their chiral behavior, which is markedly different from that of the corresponding Co(III)Pd(II)Co(III) complexes, is reported. The 1:1 reaction of an S-bridged Co(III)Ni(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex, [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(en)](2)]Cl(4), with K(2)[PtCl(4)] in water gave an S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex, [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)](2)]Cl(4) ([1]Cl(4)), while the corresponding 1:2 reaction produced an S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II) dinuclear complex, [PtCl(2)[Co(aet)(2)(en)]]Cl ([2]Cl). Complex [1](4+) formed both racemic (DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda) and meso (DeltaLambda) forms, which were separated and optically resolved by cation-exchange column chromatography. An optically active S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex having the pseudo LambdaLambda configuration, Lambda(D)Lambda(D)-[Pt[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)(2)](2)](0) (Lambda(D)Lambda(D)-[3]), was also prepared by reacting Lambda(D)-trans(N)-K[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)(2)] with K(2)[PtCl(4)] in a ratio of 2:1 in water. Treatment of the racemic Delta/Lambda-[2]Cl with Lambda(D)-trans(N)-K[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)(2)] in a ratio of 1:1 in water led to the formation of LambdaLambda(D)- and DeltaLambda(D)-[Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)][Co(D-pen-N,O,S)(2)]](2+) (LambdaLambda(D)- and DeltaLambda(D)-[4](2+)) and DeltaDelta(D)-[Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)][Co(D-pen-N,S)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]](2+) (DeltaDelta(D)-[4'](2+)), besides trace amounts of Lambda(D)Lambda(D)-[3] and DeltaDelta- and DeltaLambda-[1](4+). These Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) complexes were characterized on the basis of electronic absorption, CD, and NMR spectra, along with single-crystal X-ray analyses for DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda-[1]Cl(4), DeltaLambda-[1]Cl(4), and DeltaLambda(D)-[4]Cl(2). New ligands H(2)L2-H(2)L6 comprise the cyclen macrocycle which is N,N'-dialkylated at the 1,7-nitrogen atoms by three- and four-carbon alkyl chains bearing terminal sulfonic (C(3) H(2)L2), phosphonic (C(3) H(2)L3, C(4) H(2)L4) or carboxylic acid (C(3) H(2)L5, C(4) H(2)L6) groups, and HL7 is N-monoalkylated by a four-carbon sulfonic acid group. The ligands were prepared by alkylation of a bridged bisaminal intermediate. The syntheses of cobalt(III) complexes containing a tetradentate cyclen, N,N'-1,7-Me(2)cyclen, cyclam or L2-L7 ligand together with the bidentate 8-quinolinato (8QO(-)) ligand, of interest as it is a model for a more potent cytotoxic analogue, were investigated. Coordination of ligands (L) cyclen, N,N'-1,7-Me(2)cyclen or cyclam to cobalt(III) was achieved using Na(3)[Co(NO(6))] to form [Co(L)(NO(2))(2)](+). HOTf (trifluoromethansulfonic acid) was used to prepare the triflato complexes [Co(L)(OTf)(2)](+), followed by substitution of the labile triflato ligands to yield [Co(L)(8QO)](ClO(4))(2) isolated as the perchlorate salts. One further example containing cyclam and the 5-hydroxymethyl-8-quinolinato ligand was also prepared by this method. Complexes containing the pendant arm ligands L2-L6 were prepared from the cobalt precursor trans-[Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+). Reaction of this complex with H(2)L2·4HCl and 8QOH produced [Co(L2)(8QO)] in one step and contains two deprotonated sulfonato pendant arms. The reaction of H(2)L3·4HBr with [Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+) gave [Co(L3)]Cl in which L3 acts as a hexadenate ligand with the three-carbon phosphonato side chains coordinated to cobalt. H(2)L5·4HCl bearing three-carbon carboxylic acid pendant arms gave a similar result. The four-carbon ligands were coordinated to cobalt by reaction of [Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+) with H(2)L4·4HBr or H(2)L6·4HCl to give [Co(HL4)Cl(2)] or [Co(H(2)L6)Cl(2)]Cl, which in turn with 8QOH gave the 8QO(-) complexes [Co(L4)(8QO)] bearing anionic phosphate pendant arms or [Co(H(2)L6)(8QO)]Cl(2) containing neutral carboxylic acid side chains. The reaction of Na(3)[Co(CO(3))(3)] with the mono-N-alkylated ligand HL7·4HCl and then HOTf gave [Co(L7)(CO(3))] and then in turn [Co(L7)(OTf)(2)]. The carbonato complex [Co(L7)(CO(3))] with [8QO](2)[SO(4)] produced [Co(L7)(CO(3))]. All complexes containing L7 bear an anionic sulfonato group on the side chain. The synthesis and characterisation of the six new ligands based on N-alkylated cylen ligand and the cobalt complexes outlined above are described, along with cyclic voltammograms of the 8QO(-) complexes and the molecular structures determined by X-ray crystallography of [Co(cyclen)(H(2)O)(2)](OTf)(3) (formed by aquation of the triflato complex), [Co(cyclen)(8QO)](ClO(4))(2), Co(L2)(8QO)·2H(2)O, Co(L4)(8QO)·6H(2)O and [Co(H(2)L6)Cl(2)]Cl·H(2)O. These demonstrate the coordination of the cyclen ligand in the folded anti-O,syn-N configuration with the N-alkylated nitrogens occupying apical positions.  相似文献

Reaction of the [Ni(9)C(CO)(17)](2-) dianion with CdCl(2)2.5 H(2)O in THF affords the novel bimetallic Ni--Cd carbide carbonyl clusters [H(6-n)Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(micro(5)-CdCl)(2)](n-) (n=3-6), which undergo several protonation-deprotonation equilibria in solution depending on the basicity of the solvent or upon addition of acids or bases. Although the occurrence in solution of these equilibria complicates the pertinent electrochemical studies on their electron-transfer activity, they clearly indicate that the clusters [H(6-n)Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(micro(5)-CdCl)(2)](n-) (n=3-6), as well as the structurally related [H(6-n)Ni(34)C(4)(CO)(38)](n-) (n=4-6), undergo reversible or partially reversible redox processes and provide circumstantial and unambiguous evidence for the presence of hydrides for n=3, 4 and 5. Three of the [H(6-n)Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(micro(5)-CdCl)(2)](n-) anions (n=4-6) have been structurally characterized in their [NMe(3)(CH(2)Ph)](4)[H(2)Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(CdCl)(2)]2 COMe(2), [NEt(4)](5)[HNi(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(CdCl)(2)]2 MeCN and [NMe(4)](6)[Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(CdCl)(2)]6 MeCN salts, respectively. All three anions display almost identical geometries and bonding parameters, probably because charge effects are minimized by delocalization over such a large metal carbonyl anion. Moreover, the Ni(30)C(4) core in these Ni-Cd carbide clusters is identical within experimental error to those present in the [HNi(34)C(4)(CO)(38)](5-) and [Ni(35)C(4)(CO)(39)](6-) species, suggesting that the stepwise assembly of their nickel carbide cores may represent a general pathway of growth of nickel polycarbide clusters. The fact that the [H(6-n)Ni(30)C(4)(CO)(34)(micro(5)-CdCl)(2)](n-)(n=4-6) anions display two valence electrons more than the structurally related [H(6-n)Ni(34)C(4)(CO)(38)](n-) (n=4-6) species has been rationalized by extended Hückel molecular orbital (EHMO) analysis.  相似文献

A three-dimensional CO(3)(2-)-bridged Mn(II)-Ru(2)(II,III) complex, Mn(4)(H(2)O)(16)H[Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)](2)[Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·11H(2)O (1), was synthesized by self-assembling Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)(3-) paddle-wheel precursors and Mn(2+) cations. It contains an unprecedented layer [Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)](n)(3n-) with (4,4) network. The ferromagnetic coupling between spin centers results in ordering below 3.0 K.  相似文献

The reaction of [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(pyt)](2)](2+) (aet = 2-aminoethanethiolate, pyt = 2-pyridinethiolate) with [PtCl(4)](2)(-) gave an S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complex composed of two [Co(aet)(2)(pyt)] units, [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(pyt)](2)](2+) ([1](2+)). When a 1:1 mixture of [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(pyt)](2)](2+) and [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(en)](2)](4+) was reacted with [PtCl(4)](2)(-), a mixed-type S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) complex composed of one [Co(aet)(2)(pyt)] and one [Co(aet)(2)(en)](+) units, [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)][Co(aet)(2)(pyt)]](3+) ([2](3+)), was produced, together with [1](2+) and [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)](2)](4+). The corresponding Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complexes containing pymt (2-pyrimidinethiolate), [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(pymt)](2)](2+) ([3](2+)) and [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)][Co(aet)(2)(pymt)]](3+) ([4](3+)), were also obtained by similar reactions, using [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(pymt)](2)](2+) instead of [Ni[Co(aet)(2)(pyt)](2)](2+). While [Pt[Co(aet)(2)(en)](2)](4+) formed both the deltalambda (meso) and deltadelta/lambdalambda (racemic) forms in a ratio of ca. 1:1, the preferential formation of the deltadelta/lambdalambda form was observed for [1](2+) (ca. deltalambda:deltadelta/lambdalambda = 1:3) and [2](3+) (ca. delta(en)lambda(pyt)/lambda(en)delta(pyt):deltadelta/lambdalambda = 1:2). Furthermore, [3](2+) and [4](3+) predominantly formed the deltadelta/lambdalambda form. These results indicate that the homochiral selectivity for the S-bridged Co(III)Pt(II)Co(III) trinuclear complexes composed of two octahedral [Co(aet)(2)(L)](0 or +) units is enhanced in the order L = en < pyt < pymt. The isomers produced were separated and optically resolved, and the crystal structures of the meso-type deltalambda-[1]Cl(2).4H(2)O and the spontaneously resolved deltadelta-[4](ClO(4))(3).H(2)O were determined by X-ray analyses. In deltalambda-[1](2+), the delta and Lambda configurational mer(S).trans(N(aet))-[Co(aet)(2)(pyt)] units are linked by a square-planar Pt(II) ion through four aet S atoms to form a linear-type S-bridged trinuclear structure. In deltadelta-[4](3+), a similar linear-type trinuclear structure is constructed from the delta-mer(S).trans(N(aet))-[Co(aet)(2)(pymt)] and delta-C(2)-cis(S)-[Co(aet)(2)(en)](+) units that are bound by a Pt(II) ion with a slightly distorted square-planar geometry through four aet S atoms.  相似文献
