Visible light-responsive TiO2 (Vis-TiO2) thin film has been deposited on two different kinds of anodized Ti-metal substrates, i.e., plate-type Titanystar (P-Titanystar) or non-woven fabric Titanystar (N-Titanystar) by a radio-frequency magnetron sputtering (RF-MS) method. These Vis-TiO2 thin film photocatalysts (Vis-TiO2/P-Titanystar and Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar) showed high activity for the oxidation of 2-propanol in water under UV light irradiation while Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar showed higher activity than Vis-TiO2/P-Titanystar. Furthermore, photocatalytic activity of Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar was enhanced by the Pt deposition by an RF-MS deposition method. Pt loaded Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar (Pt-Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar) acted as an efficient photocatalyst for the oxidation of methanol vapor under UV light irradiation even in a flow system. Moreover, it was found that Pt-Vis-TiO2/N-Titanystar is an effective photocatalyst for the oxidation of various organic compounds in gas phase or ammonia gas even under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm) at 293 K.  相似文献

Visible light-responsive TiO2 (Vis-TiO2) thin films were successfully developed by applying a radio-frequency magnetron sputtering deposition method by controlling various sputtering parameters such as the substrate temperature, Ar gas pressure, and the target-to-substrate distance. UV–Vis, XRD and SEM investigations revealed that optical property, the crystal structure, and photocatalytic activity of Vis-TiO2 are strongly affected by the sputtering parameters during the deposition step. Vis-TiO2 was found to act as an efficient photocatalyst for the H2 and O2 evolution from water under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm). SIMS investigations have revealed that a slight decrease in the O/Ti ratio of the TiO2 thin films plays an important role in the modification of the electronic properties of Vis-TiO2 thin films, enabling them to absorb visible light.  相似文献

Reverse micellar microemulsions were utilised to synthesise stable lead titanate colloids from typical sol–gel type molecular precursors. The particles of a few nanometres in diameter that formed by hydrolysis in the micelle cores demonstrated a nanocrystalline texture without the need for thermal treatment. In a chemical solution deposition routine based on the nanoparticle dispersions, ferroelectric PbTiO3 thin films showing excellent remanent polarisation of more than 50 μC cm−2 were derived. The electrical characteristics of the layers were correlated to their microstructure which was controlled by the precursor composition and the annealing conditions. A columnar morphology that was realised by spinning on coatings of up to 100 nm in individual thickness proved most favourable with respect to the ferroelectric performance of the films.  相似文献

A novel photocatalytic material (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 was fabricated by successive intercalation and exchange reactions. The (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 possessed a gallery height less than 0.5 nm and showed a broad absorption with wavelength over 370-500 nm. Using (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 as catalyst, the photocatalytic H2 evolution was more than 160 cm3·h-1·g-1 in the presence of Na2S as a sacrificial agent under irradiation with wavelength more than 290 nm from a 100-W mercury lamp. Furthermore, the catalyst showed photocatalytic activity even under visible light irradiation.  相似文献

N, B, Si-tridoped mesoporous TiO2, together with N-doped, N, B-codoped and N, Si-codoped TiO2, was prepared by a modified sol–gel method. The samples were characterized by wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXRD), N2 adsorption–desorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, UV–visible adsorbance spectra (UV–vis) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS). The N, B, Si-tridoped mesoporous TiO2 showed small crystallite size, large specific surface area (350 m2/g), uniform pore distribution (3.2 nm) and strong absorption in the visible light region. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated by the photodegradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) aqueous solution. The N, B, Si-tridoping sample exhibited much higher photocatalytic activity compared with other synthesized photocatalysts. The high activity could be attributed to the strong absorption in the visible light region, large specific surface area, small crystallite size, large amount of surface hydroxyl groups, and mesoporosity.  相似文献

Noble metal-modified TiO2 films were prepared by electron beam deposition of Pt, Pd, Au and Ag on the surface of TiO2 films with diameters ranging from <1 nm to 500 nm. The morphology of the films was characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FMSEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The photocatalytic capability of the films were tested and compared by degradation of methyl orange (MO) in aqueous solutions under both UV and visible light illumination.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline Fe-doped TiO2 powders were prepared using TiOSO4, urea, and Fe(NO3)3 · 9H2O as precursors through a hydrothermal method. The as-synthesized yellowish-colored powders are composed of anatase TiO2, identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The grain size ranged from 9.7 to 12.1 nm, calculated by Scherrer’s method. The specific surface area ranged from 141 to 170 m2/g, obtained by the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrograph of the sample shows that the diameter of the grains is uniformly distributed at about 10 nm, which is consistent with that calculated by Scherrer’s method. Fe3+ and Fe2+ have been detected on the surface of TiO2 powders by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The UV–Vis diffuse reflection spectra indicate that the light absorption thresholds of the Fe-doped TiO2 powders have been red-shifted into the visible light region. The photocatalytic activity of the Fe-doped TiO2 was evaluated through the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The Fe-doped TiO2 powders have shown good visible-light photocatalytic activities and the maximum degradation ratio is achieved within 4.5 h.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline TiO2 powders in the anatase, rutile, and mixed phases prepared by hydrolysis of TiCl4 solution were of ultrafine size (<7.2 nm) with high specific surface areas in the range 167 to 388 m2/g. In the photocatalytic degradation of phenol as model reaction, the photocatalytic properties of TiO2 nanoparticles were evaluated by use of UV–vis absorption spectroscopy and total organic carbon (TOC) content. The synthetic mixed-phase TiO2 powder calcined at 400 °C had higher activity than pure anatase or rutile; it degraded more than 90% phenol to CO2 (evaluated by TOC) after irradiation with near UV light for 90 min at a catalyst loading of 0.4 g/L. The TOC results indicated that rutile TiO2 crystallites of particle size 7.2 nm resulted in much better photocatalytic performance than particles of larger size. This result suggested that some intermediates, not determined by UV–vis absorption spectroscopy, existed in the solution after the photocatalytic process over the rutile TiO2 photocatalysts of larger crystallite size.  相似文献

Titania thin films were synthesized by sol–gel dip-coating method with metallic Ni nanoparticles synthesized separately from an organometallic precursor Ni(COD)2 (COD = cycloocta-1,5-diene) in presence of 1,3-diaminopropane as a stabilizer. Titania was obtained from a titanium isopropoxide precursor solution in presence of acetic acid. A Ni/TiO2 sol system was used to coat glass substrate spheres (6, 4 and 3 mm diameter sizes), and further heat treatment at 400 °C was carried out to promote the crystallization of titania. XRD analysis of the TiO2 films revealed the crystallization of the anatase phase. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and High Resolution TEM studies of Ni nanoparticles before mixing with the TiO2 solution revealed the formation of Ni nanostructures with an average size of 5–10 nm. High-angle annular dark-field images of the Ni/TiO2 system revealed well-dispersed Ni nanoparticles supported on TiO2 and confirmed by AFM analysis. The photocatalytic activity of the Ni/TiO2 films was evaluated in hydrogen evolution from the decomposition of ethanol using a mercury lamp for UV light irradiation. Titania films in presence of Ni nanoparticles show higher efficiency in their photocatalytic properties in comparison with TiO2.  相似文献

The successful application of ion engineering techniques for the development of TiO2 photocatalysts operating under visible and/or solar light irradiations has been summarized in this review article. First, we have physically doped various transition metal ions within a TiO2 lattice on an atomic level by using an advanced metal ion implantation method. The metal ion implanted TiO2 could efficiently work as a photocatalyst under visible light irradiation. Some field tests under solar light irradiation clearly revealed that the Cr or V ions implanted TiO2 samples showed 2–3 times higher photocatalytic reactivity than the un-implanted TiO2. Second, we have developed the visible light responsive TiO2 thin film photocatalyst by a single process using an RF-magnetron sputtering (RF-MS) deposition method. The vis-type TiO2 thin films showed high photocatalytic reactivity for various reactions such as reduction of NOx, degradation of organic compounds, and splitting of H2O under visible and/or solar light irradiations.  相似文献

TiO2 thin film photocatalysts which could induce photoreactions under visible light irradiation were successfully developed in a single process by applying an ion engineering technique, i.e., the radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering deposition method. The TiO2 thin films prepared at temperatures greater than 773 K showed the efficient absorption of visible light; on the other hand, the TiO2 thin films prepared at around 573 K were highly transparent. This clearly means that the optical properties of TiO2 thin films, which absorb not only UV but also visible light, can be controlled by the preparation temperatures of the RF magnetron sputtering deposition method. These visible light responsive TiO2 thin films were found to exhibit effective photocatalytic reactivity under visible light irradiation (λ > 450 nm) at 275 K for the reductive decomposition of NO into N2 and N2O. From various characterizations, the orderly aligned columnar TiO2 crystals could be observed only for the visible light responsive TiO2 thin films. This unique structural factor is expected to modify the electronic properties of a TiO2 semiconductor, enabling the efficient absorption of visible light.  相似文献

Visible light-responsive TiO2 thin film photocatalysts (Vis-TiO2) have been prepared on Ti metal foil (Vis-TiO2/Ti) or ITO glass (Vis-TiO2/ITO) substrates by a radio-frequency magnetron sputtering (RF-MS) method. The UV–Vis spectra as well as photoelectrochemical performance of Vis-TiO2 were affected by various calcination treatments such as calcination in air or NH3. Calcination treatment in NH3 (1.0 × 104 Pa, 673 K) was particularly effective in increasing the visible light absorption of Vis-TiO2 as well as in enhancing its photoelectrochemical performance and photocatalytic activity. A novel Vis-TiO2 thin film photocatalyst (Vis-TiO2/Ti/Pt) was prepared by an RF-MS method where Vis-TiO2 was deposited on one side of a Ti metal foil substrate and nanoparticles of Pt were deposited on the other side. The separate evolution of H2 and O2 from H2O could be successfully achieved by using an H-type glass cell consisting of two aqueous phases separated by Vis-TiO2/Ti/Pt and a proton-exchange membrane. It was found that the rate of the separate evolution of H2 and O2 was also dramatically enhanced by calcination treatment of Vis-TiO2 in NH3.  相似文献

The transparent TiO2 thin films coated on fused-SiO2 substrates were prepared by the sol–gel method and spin-coating technique. Effects of calcination temperature on crystal structure, grain size, surface texture, and light transmittance of the films were investigated. After calcining at 600–1,200 °C, the thicknesses of the TiO2 films were all around 80 nm and the molecular structures of the films were anatase, even at 1,200 °C. The calcined TiO2 films had the ultraviolet light (wavelength 200–400 nm) transmittances of ≤29% and the visible light (wavelength 400–800 nm) transmittance of ≥72%. By photocatalytically decomposing the methylene blue (MB) in water, the photocatalytic activities of the TiO2 thin films were measured and represented using the characteristic time constant (τ) for the MB degradation. While the films prepared at 1,000 and 1,200 °C photodecomposed about 54 mol% of the MB in water (the corresponding τ ≈ 14.8 h) after exposing to 365-nm UV light for 12 h, the films prepared at 600 and 800 °C had smaller τ (≈9.0 h) and photodecomposed about 74 mol% of the MB in water at the same testing conditions.  相似文献

Platinum-loaded titanium oxide thin-film photocatalysts were prepared by using an ionized cluster beam (ICB) deposition method and a RF magnetron sputtering (RF-MS) deposition method as dry processes. From the results of the photocatalytic oxidation of acetaldehyde with O2 under UV light irradiation, small amounts of Pt loading (less than 10 nm film thickness) were found to dramatically enhance the photocatalytic reactivity. However, when TiO2 thin films were loaded with relatively larger amounts of Pt (more than 30 nm as the film thickness), the photocatalytic reactivity became lower than for the pure TiO2 thin films. Moreover, investigations of the ratio of Pt loaded onto the surface of the thin film catalysts by XPS measurements revealed that the small amounts of Pt loaded exist as very small clusters working to efficiently enhance the charge separation, whereas, large amounts of Pt covers the entire surface of the TiO2 thin films, resulting in a decrease of the photocatalytic reactivity.  相似文献

Based on anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates prepared in different acidic solutions, highly ordered aligned titania nanotubes array films have been successfully prepared by the liquid phase deposition method. The effect of AAO template type on the microstructure of titania film have been studied. Using the template with a certain volume fraction of Al2O3 (less than 0.71), ordered aligned titania nanotubes were obtained, characterized with an outer diameter of 200 nm and an inner diameter of 100 nm, respectively. However, titania existed as ordered aligned nanorods with the diameter of 100 nm when the template with large volume fraction of Al2O3 (larger than 0.71) was used. TiO2 thin films calcined at 400°C for 4 h have an anatase phase and exhibit good photocatalytic activity, i.e., 75% methylene blue could be degraded under ultraviolet irradiation for 2 h.  相似文献

The 12BaO·7Al2O3 (B12A7) thin films have been prepared via sol–gel process. Optical and electrical properties of B12A7 films have been investigated. The films were coated on soda lime float glass by the dip coating process, and annealed in air and hydrogen (H2) at 450 °C for 2 h. The UV absorption edge was red shifted for films annealed in H2 atmosphere. The B12A7 films had high transparency about 90% in wide visible range with maximum of 95% at 575 nm wavelength. The sheet resistance of the 300 nm films corresponding to 90.57 and 0.974 kΩ per square has been observed for air and H2 annealed, respectively.  相似文献

The influence of NH3-treating temperature on the visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 as well as the relationship between the surface composition structure of TiO2 and its visible light photocatalytic activity were investigated. The results showed that N-doped P25-TiO2 treated at 600°C had the highest activity. The structure of P25-TiO2 was converted from anatase to rutile at 700°C. Moreover, no N-doping was detected at the surface of P25-TiO2. There was no simply linear relationship between the visible light photocatalytic activity and the concentration of doped nitrogen, and visible light absorption. The visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 was mainly influenced by the synergistic action of the following factors: (i) the formation of the single-electron-trapped oxygen vacancies (denoted as Vo·); (ii) the doped nitrogen on the surface of TiO2; (iii) the anatase TiO2 structure.  相似文献

During chemical vapor synthesis of TiO2 nanopowders, nitrogen atoms were doped into the crystal lattice of TiO2. The nitrogen atoms were predominantly incorporated substitutionally in the crystal lattice of TiO2 nanopowders up to the doping level of 1.25 mol% nitrogen, whereas they were in both interstitial and substitutional sites over about 1.43 mol% nitrogen. From the photocatalytic activity of nitrogen-doped TiO2 estimated by decomposition of methylene blue under visible light, it was found that the substitutional nitrogen anions appearing at the low level doping was beneficial to its photocatalytic activity, whereas the interstitial ones appearing at the high level doping over 1.25 mol% nitrogen were not. The improved photocatalytic activity due to the substitutionally doped nitrogen was attributed to band gap narrowing which was confirmed by the studies of XPS, near edge X-ray absorption fine structure, and UV–Vis absorption.  相似文献

The photocatalytic activity of S-doped TiO2 powder depends on the S content. To synthesize S-doped TiO2 powders with high S content, solvothermal processes were used in this work. The S-doped TiO2 powder contains 2.0 M% sulfur and has an absorption edge of 460 nm (2.7 eV). The pure TiS2 powder also synthesized by a solvothermal process has an absorption edge of 595 nm (2.08 eV) and broad absorption above 595 nm. The photocatalysis experiments indicate that the degradation of methyl orange is associated with the light adsorption edge. The photocatalytic activity is much larger for the pure TiS2 powder than for partially S-doped TiO2 powder.  相似文献

In this work we report the performance of permeation barriers based on organic/inorganic multilayer stacks. We have used PMMA-SiO2 (poly methyl methacrylate-silica) hybrid films synthesized through a sol–gel route as organic–inorganic components, whereas Al2O3 thin films were used as the inorganic component. The hybrid layers were deposited by dip coating and the Al2O3 by atomic layer deposition (ALD), films were prepared on polyethylene naphthalene (PEN) substrates. The permeability of the films and stacks is evaluated using helium as the diffusion gas in a custom made ultra-high vacuum system. The results show that permeability for PEN is reduced from 5 × 10−3 g/m2-day to about 9 × 10−5 g/m2-day for the best multiple barrier evaluated. Increased barrier properties are due to the increasing in the path and hence the lag-time of the permeating gas. In particular, we report the surface roughness of the different layers and its impact on the barrier performance. The hybrid layers reduced notably the roughness of the bare PEN substrate improving the quality of the Al2O3 layer in the barrier. The optical transmittance of the barriers in the visible region is higher than 80% in all the studied cases.  相似文献
