It is shown that if the modulus ΓX of nearly uniform smoothness of a reflexive Banach space satisfies , then every bounded closed convex subset of X has the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings. In particular, uniformly nonsquare Banach spaces have this property since they are properly included in this class of spaces. This answers a long-standing question in the theory.  相似文献

In this article, we prove the existence of fixed points and the demiclosed principle for mean nonexpansive mappings in Cartan, Alexandrov and Toponogov(0) spaces. In this paper, we introduce a new iteration method based on the hybrid method in mathematical programming and the descent-like method for finding a common element of the set of solutions for a variational inequality and the set of fixed points for a nonexpansive mapping in Hilbert spaces. In this paper, we prove strong convergence of Mann iterative schemes to fixed points of multi-valued demicontractive non-self mappings in complete CAT(0) spaces under appropriate conditions. In addition, △? convergence or strong convergence of Mann iterative scheme to a fixed point of single-valued k-strictly pseudocontractive non-self mapping is obtained. In this paper, we modify the proximal point algorithm for finding common fixed points in CAT(0) spaces for nonlinear multivalued mappings and a minimizer of a convex function and prove Δ‐convergence of the proposed algorithm. In this paper we obtain a quadratic bound on the rate of asymptotic regularity for the Krasnoselski-Mann iterations of nonexpansive mappings in CAT(0)-spaces, whereas previous results guarantee only exponential bounds. The method we use is to extend to the more general setting of uniformly convex hyperbolic spaces a quantitative version of a strengthening of Groetsch's theorem obtained by Kohlenbach using methods from mathematical logic (so-called “proof mining”).  相似文献

We show that the iterative sequence generated by the Moudafi's viscosity type algorithm converges to one of the fixed points of the nonexpansive mapping depending on the contraction applied in the algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper we study the regularity of geodesic Ptolemy spaces and apply our findings to metric fixed point theory. It is an open question whether such spaces with a continuous midpoint map are CAT(0) spaces. We prove that if a certain uniform continuity is imposed on such a midpoint map then these spaces, if complete, are reflexive (that is, the intersection of decreasing families of bounded closed and convex subsets is nonempty) and that bounded sequences have unique asymptotic centers. These properties will then be applied to yield a series of fixed point results specific to CAT(0) spaces.  相似文献

We prove that modular spaces Lρ have the uniform Kadec-Klee property w.r.t. the convergence ρ-a.e. when they are endowed with the Luxemburg norm. We also prove that these spaces have the uniform Opial condition w.r.t. the convergence ρ-a.e. for both the Luxemburg norm and the Amemiya norm. First, we consider a strongly continuous semigroup of nonexpansive mappings defined on a closed convex subset of a complete CAT(0) space and prove a convergence of a Mann iteration to a common fixed point of the mappings. This result is motivated by a result of Kirk (2002) and of Suzuki (2002). We give a direct proof of Schauder's fixed point theorem in the setting of geodesic metric spaces, generalizing the classical Schauder's theorem and improving a recent version of this theorem in CAT(κ)CAT(κ) spaces. Let X be a complete CAT(0) space, T be a generalized multivalued nonexpansive mapping, and t be a single valued quasi-nonexpansive mapping. Under the assumption that T and t commute weakly, we shall prove the existence of a common fixed point for them. In this way, we extend and improve a number of recent results obtained by Shahzad (2009) [7] and [12], Shahzad and Markin (2008) [6], and Dhompongsa et al. (2005) [5].  相似文献
