In this paper, two existence results for a class of second order periodic boundary value problems with non-smooth potential are obtained. We extend the Castro-Lazer-Thews reduction method to non-smooth functionals, the obtained result is then exploited to prove the existence of a nontrivial solution. Furthermore, we prove the existence of multiple solutions by using a multiplicity result based on local linking.  相似文献

We shall be concerned with the existence of heteroclinic orbits for the second order Hamiltonian system , where qRn and VC1(R×Rn,R), V?0. We will assume that V and a certain subset MRn satisfy the following conditions. M is a set of isolated points and #M?2. For every sufficiently small ε>0 there exists δ>0 such that for all (t,z)∈R×Rn, if d(z,M)?ε then −V(t,z)?δ. The integrals , zM, are equi-bounded and −V(t,z)→∞, as |t|→∞, uniformly on compact subsets of Rn?M. We study the existence of homoclinic orbits for the second order Hamiltonian system , where qRn and VC1(R×Rn,R), V(t,q)=-K(t,q)+W(t,q) is T-periodic in t. A map K satisfies the “pinching” condition b1|q|2?K(t,q)?b2|q|2, W is superlinear at the infinity and f is sufficiently small in L2(R,Rn). A homoclinic orbit is obtained as a limit of 2kT-periodic solutions of a certain sequence of the second order differential equations.  相似文献

We obtain critical point variants of the compression fixed point theorem in cones of Krasnoselskii. Critical points are localized in a set defined by means of two norms. In applications to semilinear elliptic boundary value problems this makes possible the use of local Moser-Harnack inequalities for the estimations from below. We consider a nonlinear periodic equation driven by the scalar p-Laplacian and with a Caratheodory asymptotically (p−1)-linear nonlinearity. Using variational methods coupled with suitable truncation techniques, we show that the problem has at least two positive solutions. This paper uses critical point theory and variational methods to investigate the subharmonic solutions with prescribed minimal period for a class of second-order impulsive differential equations. The conditions for the existence of subharmonic solutions are established. Our results rectify some known results in the literature and will allow us, in the future, to deal with the subharmonic solutions for more extensive impulsive problems.  相似文献

Using a generalized notion of symplectic Cayley transform in the symplectic group, we introduce a sequence of integer valued invariants (higher order signatures) associated with a degeneracy instant of a smooth path of symplectomorphisms.
