The optimal sufficient conditions are found for weights, which guarantee the validity of two-weighted inequalities for singular integrals in the Lorentz spaces defined on homogeneous groups. In some particular case, the found conditions are necessary for the corresponding inequalities to be valid. Also, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for pairs of weights, which provide the validity of two-weighted inequalities for the generalized Hardy operator in the Lorentz spaces defined on homogeneous groups.

We exhibit simple sufficient conditions which give weak-strong uniqueness for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations. The main tools are trilinear estimates and energy inequalities. We then apply our result to the framework of Lorentz, Morrey and Besov over Morrey spaces so as to get new weak-strong uniqueness classes and so uniqueness classes for solutions in the Leray-Hopf class. In the last section, we give a uniqueness and regularity result. We obtain new uniqueness classes for solutions in the Leray-Hopf class without energy inequalities but sufficiently regular.

We provide here the formulas for the q-convexity and q-concavity constants for function and sequence Lorentz spaces associated to either decreasing or increasing weights. It yields also the formula for the q-convexity constants in function and sequence Marcinkiewicz spaces. In this paper we extent and enhance the results from [G.J.O. Jameson, The q-concavity constants of Lorentz sequence spaces and related inequalities, Math. Z. 227 (1998) 129-142] and [A. Kamińska, A.M. Parrish, The q-concavity and q-convexity constants in Lorentz spaces, in: Banach Spaces and Their Applications in Analysis, Conference in Honor of Nigel Kalton, May 2006, Walter de Gruyter, Berlin, 2007, pp. 357-373].

An abstract version of Besov spaces is introduced by using the resolvent of nonnegative operators. Interpolation inequalities with respect to abstract Besov spaces and generalized Lorentz spaces are obtained. These inequalities provide a generalization of Sobolev inequalities of logarithmic type. Uniqueness problems to abstract semilinear evolution equations are also discussed (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Generalizations of the Trudinger–Moser inequality to Sobolev–Lorentz spaces with weights are considered. The weights in these spaces allow for the addition of certain lower order terms in the exponential integral. We prove an explicit relation between the weights and the lower order terms; furthermore, we show that the resulting inequalities are sharp, and that there are related phenomena of concentration–compactness.

We define a multidimensional rearrangement, which is related to classical inequalities for functions that are monotone in each variable. We prove the main measure theoretical results of the new theory and characterize the functional properties of the associated weighted Lorentz spaces. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.

We consider some inequalities in such classical Banach Function Spaces as Lorentz, Marcinkiewicz, and Orlicz spaces. Our aim is to explore connections between the norm of a function of two variables on the product space and the mixed norm of the same function, where mixed norm is calculated in function spaces on coordinate spaces, first in one variable, then in the other. This issue is motivated by various problems of functional analysis and theory of functions. We will currently mention just geometry of spaces of vector-valued functions and embedding theorems for Sobolev and Besov spaces generated by metrics which differ from L p. Our main results are actually counterexamples for Lorentz spaces versus the natural intuition that arises from the easier case of Orlicz spaces (Section 2). In the Appendix we give a proof for the Kolmogorov–Nagumo theorem on change of order of mixed norm calculation in its most general form. This result shows that L p is the only space where it is possible to change this order.

A reduction theorem is established, showing that any Sobolev inequality, involving arbitrary rearrangement-invariant norms with respect to the Gauss measure in Rn, is equivalent to a one-dimensional inequality, for a suitable Hardy-type operator, involving the same norms with respect to the standard Lebesgue measure on the unit interval. This result is exploited to provide a general characterization of optimal range and domain norms in Gaussian Sobolev inequalities. Applications to special instances yield optimal Gaussian Sobolev inequalities in Orlicz and Lorentz(-Zygmund) spaces, point out new phenomena, such as the existence of self-optimal spaces, and provide further insight into classical results.

We exhibit the optimal constant for Sobolev inequalities in Lorentz spaces for a mean oscillation, and its relation with a boundedness of the Hardy–Littlewood maximal operator in Sobolev spaces. Some applications to a scale invariant form of Hardy?s inequality in a limiting case are also considered.

In 1997 Ferreyra proved that it is impossible to extend the Stein-Weiss theorem in the context of Lorentz spaces. In this paper we obtain an interpolation theorem on Lorentz spaces over weighted measure spaces.

In the general atomic setting of an unconditional basis in a (quasi-) Banach space, we show that representing the spaces of m-terms approximation as Lorentz spaces is equivalent to the verification of two inequalities (Jackson and Bernstein), and that the validity of these two properties is equivalent to the Temlyakov property. The proof is very direct and, especially, does not use interpolation theory. We apply this result to establish a representation theorem when the norm of the (quasi-) Banach space is given by a quadratic variation formula (thanks to a condition called the p-reverse inequality). This quadratic variation framework is in fact very rich and contains, as examples, the cases of Hardy spaces. We also consider the cases of "weighted" Hardy and Lebesgue spaces when the weight belongs to a Muckenhoupt class and the basis is a wavelet basis. This provides a new example of bases well adapted to approximation.

In this paper we obtain some inequalities related to the generalized triangle and quadratic triangle inequalities for vectors in inner product spaces. Some results that employ the Ostrowski discrete inequality for vectors in normed linear spaces are also obtained.

Interpolation theorems on weighted Lorentz martingale spaces
In this paper several interpolation theorems on martingale Lorentz spaces are given. The proofs are based on the atomic decompositions of martingale Hardy spaces over weighted measure spaces.Applying the interpolation theorems,we obtain some inequalities on martingale transform operator.

We consider a class of rearrangement invariant Banach Function Spaces recently appeared in a paper by the same authors, containing at the same time some Lorentz spaces Γ(ν), classical Lebesgue spaces and small Lebesgue spaces. We discuss the main properties coming directly from the norm, and, for certain values of the involved parameters, we prove some estimates of the norm of the associate space.

A Sobolev type embedding for Triebel‐Lizorkin‐Morrey‐Lorentz spaces is established in this paper. As an application of this result, the boundedness of the fractional integral operator on some generalizations of Hardy spaces such as Hardy‐Morrey spaces and Hardy‐Lorentz spaces are obtained.

We establish refined Sobolev inequalities between the Lorentz spaces and homogeneous Besov spaces. The sharpness of these inequalities is illustrated on several examples, in particular based on non-uniformly oscillating functions known as chirps. These results are also used to derive refined Hardy inequalities.
