对基模高斯光束经方形光阑限制光学系统的光斑传输变换规律进行了论述.对于任一共轴光学系统,在不考虑有效光阑前面元件的衍射和变换时,考察入射光经有效光阑和其后面的元件发生衍射,根据柯林斯公式,对于非成像光学系统,采用稳相法得到出射光场的振幅分布;对于成像光学系统,根据像传递原理得到出射光场的振幅分布,最后得出出射光斑大小由有效光阑边长与光阑处高斯光束腰斑大小比较决定的结论.  相似文献

A data projector using three liquid crystal display panels has a complex optical system. The illuminating optics separate the beam from a light source into three primary colors and separate those into opposite polarizations using multi-layer films and prisms. A reflection grating with the period of subwavelength has high diffraction efficiency for p polarized light and high regularly reflectance for s polarized light. The diffraction angle of a grating largely depends on the wavelength, because a diffractive optical element (DOE) has large chromatic dispersion. The grating with the period of subwavelength can separate the unpolarized light into polarization components effectively using its polarization dependency and can separate white light into color components using its chromatic dispersion simultaneously. The grating makes the optical system simpler and smaller than those with conventional devices. In this paper the efficiency of polarization separation for the grating is calculated by a rigorous analytical method. Next, the condition for color separation is calculated by Snell#x0027;s law, and an optical system using a grating that performs polarization and color separation is proposed. Experimental results of the DOE fabricated are well matched with those of this simulation.  相似文献

We developed a method for the design of multilevel anisotropic diffraction gratings based on a genetic algorithm. The method is used to design the multilevel anisotropic diffraction gratings based on input data that represent the output from the required grating. The validity of the proposed method was evaluated by designing a multilevel anisotropic diffraction grating using the outputs from an orthogonal circular polarization grating. The design results corresponded to the orthogonal circular polarization grating structures that were used to provide outputs to act as the input data for the process. Comparison with existing design methods shows that the proposed method can reduce the number of human processes that are required to design multilevel anisotropic diffraction gratings. Additionally, the method will be able to design complex structures without any requirement for subsequent examination by a human designer. The method can contribute to the development of optical elements by designing multilevel anisotropic diffraction gratings.  相似文献

Shallow etched two dimensional gratings for coupling light between silicon-on-insulator nanophotonic waveguides and vertical optical fibers were designed and experimentally characterized. We show that the large second order back reflection could be suppressed effectively by applying a linear chirp in the grating period for two dimensional grating couplers. The total coupling efficiency from an optical fiber to two orthogonal silicon waveguides is independent of the input polarization. An almost linear relationship between the average effective index of the grating region and the fill factor for 1D grating is obtained and verified. We also show that the average effective index for the two dimensional grating is similar to the one dimensional grating with the same fill factor in the light propagation direction, when the fill factor of the etched holes was larger than 0.5.  相似文献

The generation of amplitude and phase gratings in an absorbing medium is discussed, including the effects of light polarization, population kinetics and orientational relaxation. A theory is given which describes light diffraction by a combination of an amplitude and a phase grating. It is shown that the coherent coupling effect in transient absorption measurements is solely due to the amplitude grating. Weak absorption and a low triplet yield favour diffraction of the probing beam by the phase grating in triple-beam experiments. Phase grating experiments can be performed with highly soluble absorber dyes, the absorption maximum of which is far away from the laser wavelength. Due to photoselection, diffraction by an amplitude grating depends on the polarization of the probing beam while phase grating diffraction is insensitive to this. Perpendicular polarization of the two exciting pulses prevents the buildup of a phase grating and results in light diffracted by the amplitude grating that is proportional to the transient dichroism signal as known from the common absorption relaxation.  相似文献

 减小光栅表面的反射率以得到更高的衍射效率是目前光栅设计与制造中需要解决的重要问题之一。提出利用偏振光沿布儒斯特角入射时具有的特性来实现降低光栅表面反射率的方案,介绍了这种方案的物理模型,并利用严格耦合波分析法进行了模拟计算。计算结果显示,对入射光为TM偏振,波长0.35 μm,当光栅周期较长为2.80 μm时,以布儒斯特角入射的光波,它的表面反射被大大抑制;当光栅周期较短为0.21 μm时也有类似的结论,并且透射光的一级衍射效率极大值出现在刻槽深度为3.50 μm处附近,衍射效率大于95%。  相似文献

We describe a compact double-layer waveguide grating splitter that not only achieves efficient coupling between single mode fiber and a silicon-on-insulator optical waveguide but also realizes effective splitting. By appropriate choice of waveguide/grating parameters, including thicknesses, periods, height, and fill factor to optimize the mode matching, coupling efficiency is improved and the value of power difference of each output port is also significantly decreased. The maximum of power difference between four output ports is about 6.2%; however, the minimum value is only 0.6% or so. Moreover, the average power difference of four output ports is lower than 10% for TE polarization light over the 10?nm wavelength bandwidth centered at 1.54?μm. In addition, the splitter structure has the best tolerance for grating fabrication with deviations of grating depth 90?nm.  相似文献

We apply the theory of vectorial wave coupling in cubic photorefractive crystals subjected to ac-field to describe the transformation of a momentary phase changes of one of the input beams into the output intensity modulation (the so-called grating translation technique). In contrast to the previous studies, we take into account the change of the space-charge field amplitude across the crystal owing to the coupling effects. The theory developed is employed to optimize the conditions for the linear signal detection under polarization filtering for the transverse and longitudinal optical configurations. 星载光栅光谱仪中的光栅有着强烈的偏振响应。为了保证光谱仪测定的光谱分布的准确性,必须在光辐射进入仪器光谱测量部分之前就消去光辐射的偏振。应用矩阵光学推导出了这种紫外石英消偏器的残余偏振度,并得到影响其消偏性能的几个因素。建立了一套测试系统,在300-360nm波段上对其消偏性能进行了研究,得出入射光经过紫外石英消偏器后的残余偏振度变化范围1.2%-5.7%。与理论推导有较好的一致性。并按照国际通用不确定度评估规范,对测量结果进行不确定度分析和评估,组合不确定度小于1.8%。  相似文献

A new acousto-optic deflector with a wide angular scanning range and a high diffraction efficiency has been studied. The device uses an additional deflector, which allows the angle of incidence of the input beam to be adjusted in order to fulfill the Bragg phase–matching condition over the entire scanning range of the main deflector. The characteristics of an anisotropic two-crystal deflector based on paratellurite crystals have been measured. It has been established experimentally that the operating bandwidth of the device is 32 MHz for a diffraction coefficient no less than 90%, which determines a light beam scanning angle of 50 mrad.  相似文献

The incorporation of a phase grating into the optical system of a Fabry-Perot interferometer makes it possible to transform the incident beam of light so that the major part of energy in the reflected wave is contained in the side lobes in the far-field diffraction pattern and radiation in the zero order of diffraction along the optical axis is suppressed. Experimental results are presented, which are obtained with a grating produced by evaporating a thin-layer dielectric coating onto the input mirror of the interferometer.  相似文献

光子晶体是一种具有光子带隙的新型人工材料,利用其具有控制和限制光子运动的特性可以制成新颖的光学器件。利用硅基二维光子晶体,提出了一种4端口耦合器。采用时域有限差分法作为研究工具,TM模作为研究对象,从理论上分析了这种器件的特性。在不同的耦合长度下研究光在输出端的功率透射率。结果表明选择适当的耦合长度可以使光在器件中呈现不同的状态。进一步研究表明,通过改变器件内部介质柱的半径,可以改变光在输出端的输出功率。从而证实了这种器件不仅具有波长选择性,而且具有潜在的可调节性,这些特性使得这种器件在全光开关的应用上具有潜在的优势。  相似文献

We analyze the properties of a self-imaging system from the point of view of aberration theory. We examine analytically and numerically the geometrical aberrations that are observed in the self-image of a parallel-line grating. We first derive the raytracing equations for determining the optical path of a self-imaging ray with the order of diffraction l. We then obtain the third- and fifth-order contributions to ray aberrations which arise from the difference between the optical paths of a self-imaging ray and of an actual ray. We show that the overall ray aberrations are entirely undercorrected. The ray aberrations approach zero as the ratio of the grating constant to the wavelength of light becomes large enough. In a case of unit magnification, no curvatures are observed in the self-imaged lines. If the magnification is bigger than unity, the light rays passing through the point in a positive or negative domain of the aperture variable contribute to the formation of the curved images. The image evaluation technique discussed here can be useful in the various applications related to the self-image formation of a parallel-line grating and it can also provide insight into the self-imaging of other periodic objects.  相似文献

传统的沿z轴光纤传输光线的轨道角动量(orbital angular momentum,OAM)光束的制备方法共同之处都是从内部结构着想,光束的主光线基本上不变,只是波面在变.但要获得携带高mh的光有一定的难度.针对上述问题,本文建立以波面不变,光束主光线变化为基础的理论框架,利用微分几何理论验证不沿z轴圆柱型光纤螺线圈传输的光线可以携带高mh OAM的理论设想.研究发现:利用流动坐标(α,β,γ)计算光线在绕圆柱体的光纤中传输时光纤截面的衍射分布图呈现涡旋特征,有高阶OAM模式.当θ=θ0时,圆柱形轨道光纤过渡到直线轨道光纤.计算光线沿直线传输时光纤截面的衍射分布图是Airy斑,即圆孔衍射斑,无高阶OAM模式.  相似文献

In this Letter, we propose general optimization methods to design broadband high-efficiency grating couplers for planar waveguides. We attribute the coupling bandwidth to the mismatch of effective indices between the diffracted beam and the actual grating structure around the operation wavelength for fiber to waveguide excitation. The coupling bandwidth formula is deduced. A simple parameter-separate optimization procedure is proposed for general layered grating couplers for high coupling efficiency. Using our principle, we optimized a grating coupler for a horizontal slot waveguide operating at wavelength 1.55 μm for TM polarization. The grating coupler has 1 dB bandwidth of 60 nm and coupling efficiency of 65% with incident light from single-mode optical fiber (SMF) at 8°.  相似文献

作为一个微弱光信号探测系统,拉曼光谱仪中的杂散光分析可以为其设计提供较大帮助。针对微型拉曼光谱仪系统,结合光学设计和三维建模优化了其光机结构,系统分辨率为0.7 nm,体积为110 mm×95 mm,属便携式微型拉曼光谱仪,并基于杂散光分析软件TracePro对系统进行了光线追迹和仿真分析。首先通过优化孔径光阑初步抑制了入射处带来的杂散光,然后针对系统内部的主要杂散光(光栅零级衍射光)抑制装置即光学陷阱进行了详细分析和设计改进,改进后的光学陷阱较改进前更有效地利用了光谱仪内部空间,且分析结果表明改进后的光学陷阱将杂散光线数量减少了50%,杂散光归一化辐照度强度从10-5降低至10-7,在微型化的同时可有效抑制微型拉曼光谱仪系统中的杂散光,将更加有利于微弱信号的探测,为微型拉曼光谱仪的设计和装调提供了参考。  相似文献

实验中4f光学系统的输入函数载体与滤波函数载体往往存在着一定的角位移,而这个角位移的存在影响了4f光学系统的精确滤波。将空间光调制器(SLM)作为4f光学系统的输入和滤波函数的载体,利用光栅衍射理论和傅里叶变换理论,提出了一种测量该角位移的方法。滤波函数旋转角位移值的大小可以补偿输入和滤波函数载体间存在的角位移。滤波实验证明了方法的有效性和必要性。  相似文献

Peculiar light-matter interactions can break the rule that a single beam polarization can address only two states in an optical memory device. Multistate storage of a single beam polarization is achieved using self-induced surface diffraction gratings in a photoactive polymer material. We propose a scheme for creating electromagnetically induced grating in a four-level double- Λ atomic system driven by a coupling field and an incoherent pump field. Owing to the incoherent pumping process, large refractivity accompanied with vanishing absorption or even gain across the probe field can be built up in the atoms, thus phase grating or gain-phase grating, which diffracts a probe light into different directions, can be formed with the help of a standing-wave coupling field. The diffraction efficiency of the gratings can be tuned by the coupling field intensity and the incoherent pump rate, hence the proposed gratings should be suitable for beam splitter and optical switching in optical communication and networking.  相似文献

基于倾斜光纤光栅耦合模理论,采用数值分析法研究了前后向导模耦合时倾斜角度和调制深度对倾斜光纤光栅反射谱的影响,以及导模和辐射模耦合时针对不同的入射光偏振态在倾斜角度、调制深度、光栅长度等不同时倾斜光纤光栅透射谱(或反射谱)的特性.研究结果表明,在前后向导模耦合时,不同偏振态入射光的光谱几乎相同;而对于辐射模耦合,由于反射谱的包络受消光系数的调制,而不同偏振态入射光的消光系数不同,并且倾斜角度越大不同偏振态的入射光的消光系数差别越大,故在研究辐射模耦合时需要将偏振态予以考虑.  相似文献
