The absorption coefficient of polyethylene sheets has been measured for two wavelengths (0.6328 μm, He-Ne laser; 10.6 μm, CO2 laser). For TEA CO2 laser power densities up to 104 W cm−2, the absorption coefficient was found to be 35.36 cm−1. The measured absorption coefficient shows that polyethylene sheets are good and simple attenuators for CO2 laser radiation.  相似文献

In this paper, infrared (IR) and far-infrared (FIR) laser emissions from a TE CO2 laser pumped NH3 gas are reported. 8 IR laser emissions near the wavelength of 12 μm were observed by using 4 different CO2 laser lines for the pumping. 3 IR laser emissions in P-branch of vibrational-rotational band (ν2 → G) oscillated simultaneously in two pumping cases, i.e. pumping with the R(30) or R(16) line of 9.4 μm band from the CO2 laser. 26 FIR laser emissions (26.45 μm ~ 281.0 μm) were observed by using 12 different CO2 laser lines, and the 10 FIR emissions of them may be new laser emissions as far as we know.  相似文献

In order to stabilize the 118.8 μm CH3OH laser output, frequency stabilization of the CW 9P(36) CO2 laser pump is carried out using external CH3OH Stark-cell modulation without internal frequency modulation. The CO2 laser output power around the CH3OH absorption center is stabilized to within ±1.0% for 60 min. The frequency stability of the CO2 laser is estimated to be within ±1.4 MHz for 60 min, assuming the output fluctuation to be caused by this frequency fluctuation. As a result of the CO2 pump laser stabilization, an output power stability of about ± 1.0% for 30 min is obtained for the 118.8 μm CH3OH laser.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the construction of a monochromatic and frequency stabilized continuous wave (cw) source in the 5 μm region. It is built up by a cw single line, single-mode frequency and amplitude stabilized CO2 laser. This primary CO2 laser source is then frequency-doubled in a tellurium crystal using second harmonic generation (SHG). The obtained emission is monochromatic (half-width 50 kHz). The frequency can be varied discreetly from 4.6 μm to 5.5 μ depending on the CO2 laser line chosen.  相似文献

A transversely excited CO2 laser has been operated with gas mixtures containing only CO2 and CO, to give pulse durations between 8 μs and 220 μs. The variation of pulse parameters with gas mixture and output mirror reflectivity is described, and reasons for the relatively high efficiency are discussed.  相似文献

The transfer of substantial amounts of vibrational energy from CO2 to specific complex molecules has been observed in flow-tube experiments by monitoring the spectra from the 4·3 μm fundamental bands and the 2·7 μm mixed-mode Fermi-resonance bands of CO2. Small amounts of SF6, BCl3, and PF5 were found to reduce the intensities of these emissions significantly. Quenching cross-sections were calculated using a non-equilibrium analysis.  相似文献

Fabry-Perot frequency measurements of FIR superradiant emission from D2O at 99 μm are reported. Several Fabry-Perot scans at different frequency settings of the CO2 pump laser show a shift in the FIR output spectrum equal, within experimental error, to the shift in input frequency of the CO2 pump. The “superradiant” emission therefore of the D2O 101,10(010) → 90,9(010) transition at 99 μm contains a strong Raman component.  相似文献

Pulsed MIR and FIR laser action is reported from D12,13C14,15N pumped by a 9 μm region TEA CO2 laser. Thirty-four wavelengths and assignments are reported, spanning 18.1–477 μm. Output energies from D13C15N at 392 μm pumped by CO2 9R(32) are up to a factor of two larger than those from D2O pumped by 9R(22), one of the strongest known pulsed FIR lasers.  相似文献

We have observed the 4.3 μm fluorescence signal produced by a superatmospheric double-discharge CO2 laser, up to a pressure of 5 atm. The evolution of the signal amplitude with pressure reveals an unusual behaviour which we associate to the hot bands. Moreover, we have deduced the V-V relaxation times of CO2 in mixtures CO2:N2:He of (10:5:85) and CO2:He of (9:91).  相似文献

A tunable single-mode stabilized CO2 TEA laser is used to optically pump D2O vapour. Two D2O absorption lines separated from the CO2 P(32) line centre by 0.6 GHz and -1.4 GHz are found to produce respective FIR emission at 120 μ and 66 μ. Superradiant output efficiences of up to 70% of the the theoretical maximum are observed. Laser cavity operation of the two D2O emission lines was also observed with quantum conversion efficiencies of 6.8% (66 μ) and 14.5% (120 μ) when calculated for the active lasing volume.  相似文献

Noncollinear four photon mixing of two TEA CO2 laser beams in germanium at room temperature has been used to obtain phase-matched generation of step tunable radiation in the 8.7 μm region which is of interest for the uranium isotope separation. Using an 8.3 cm long crystal of germanium, peak output power of ≈10kW (corresponding to 1 mJ per pulse) was obtained at 8.7 μm with 3 MW peak input power from each of the two CO2 lasers operating at 9.6 μm and 10.6 μm.  相似文献

Abstract

A seven compartment model was applied for evaluation of oral L-[1-13C]leucine loading tests (38 μmol/kg body wt.) in healthy volunteers. The model comprises transport and absorption in stomach and gut into a central L-leucine-compartment which is connected to a protein compartment and to the compartment of the corresponding 2-oxo acid. CO2 release from the latter occurs in a fast and a slow compartment into the central CO2 compartment for exhalation. Using the fmins routine of MATLAB for parameter estimation, a good agreement was obtained between calculated and actually measured kinetics of 13C-labelled metabolites and a mean in vivo L-leucine oxidation of 0.365 ± 0.071 μmol/kg per min (n = 5) was computed. Plausibility of the model was checked by predicting in vivo leucine oxidation rates from primed continuous infusion tests (priming: L-[1-13C]leucine, 5 μmol/kg; NaH13CO2, 1.2 μmol/kg; infusion: L-[1-13C]leucine, 5 μmol/kg per h). In 5 tested volunteers, the experimental L-leucine oxidation rate amounted to 0.358 ± 0.105 μmol/kg per min versus predicted 0.324±0.099 μmol/kg per min. Possible causes for some observed intraindividual variations are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, infrared (IR) emissions from a TE CO2 laser pumped NH3 laser are reported. 38 IR laser lines were obtained from a CO2 9R(30) line pumped NH3 : N2 mixture by cooling a NH3 laser tube, and 13 lines of them were new emission lines as far as we known. Four Q-branch lines were included and the others belonged to P-branch transitions. The 12.078 μm line, which was the strongest line in this experiment, was used to pump an InSb spin-fip Raman (SFR) laser which could be tuned from 13.35 to 13.55 μm.  相似文献

Frequencies of CO2 laser transitions have been compared to the Cs standard by a four-step frequency chain using difference-frequencies from five CO2 isotope lasers. A tungsten-nickel diode generates the differences and their harmonics. Measurement of the 10.71 μm R(6) transition of 13C18O2 is described. The absolute frequency was found to be 27 979 469.512(65) MHz. Simultaneously, the four other CO2 frequencies in the chain were also determined.  相似文献

The IR absorption in CH3OH in the vicinity of CO2 laser lines has been measured quantitatively by use of a 300 MHz tunable waveguide CO2 laser with output powers of about 3 W. Information on frequency offsets from the CO2 line centers, small signal and saturated absorption coefficients of FIR laser pump transitions is obtained. Some stronger pump transitions with frequency offsets larger than 50 MHz gave rise to the observation of 8 new FIR emission lines with wavelengths from 43 to 125 μm.  相似文献

Sixteen FIR laser lines have been observed by optical pumping of CD3OH with a tunable single-mode TEA CO2 laser. Particularly large outputs are observed at 70.6 μm (10 P20 pump), 69.9 μm (10 R22), 42.3 μm (10 R6), and 105.3 μm and 41.7 μm (10 R8).  相似文献

4-wave mixing has been demonstrated in room temperature germanium using a TEA CO2 laser (9.3 μm) and an optically pumped NH3 laser (12.8 μm) as radiation sources. Non-collinear phase matched emission near 7 μm has been observed with a mixing efficiency close to the calculated value. The extension of this mixing process to generate wavelengths in the important region near 16 μm is discussed.  相似文献
