Molybdenum-doped iridium oxide thin films have been deposited onto corning glass- and fluorine-doped tin oxide coated corning glass substrates at 350 °C by using a pneumatic spray pyrolysis technique. An aqueous solution of 0.01 M ammonium molybdate was mixed with 0.01 M iridium trichloride solution in different volume proportions and the resultant solution was used as a precursor solution for spraying. The as-deposited samples were annealed at 600 °C in air medium for 1 h. The structural, electrical and optical properties of as-deposited and annealed Mo-doped iridium oxide were studied and values of room temperature electrical resistivity, and thermoelectric power were estimated. The as-deposited samples with 2% Mo doping exhibit more pronounced electrochromism than other samples, including pristine Ir oxide.  相似文献

We have deposited zinc oxide (ZnO) and erbium doped zinc oxide (ZnO:Er) thin films on heated glass substrates using spray pyrolysis technique. The effect of erbium dopant on structural, morphological, luminescent and nonlinear optical properties was studied. The deposited films have been analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ex situ compositional analysis (ESCA), profilometry, cathodoluminescence (CL) and third harmonic generation (THG) measurements. All films were polycrystalline, having a preferential growth orientation along the ZnO (0 0 2) plane, with a corresponding average crystallite size of less than 41 nm. Addition of erbium can effectively control the film surface morphology and its cathodoluminescent properties. The films containing low erbium concentration show a uniform surface covered with hexagonal shaped grains and a strong UV light emission intensity as well as TH response. In contrast, when the erbium doping ratio exceeds 3%, a porous surface with columnar textural growth becomes more pronounced, and a substantial reduction of the cathodoluminescent and TH response. A strong TH signal was obtained for the film with good crystalline quality at the concentration of 2%. Third order nonlinear optical susceptibility (χ〈3〉) values of the studied materials were in the remarkable range of 10−12 esu.  相似文献

Pure and tin doped zinc oxide (Sn:ZnO) thin films were prepared for the first time by NSP technique using aqueous solutions of zinc acetate dehydrate, tin (IV) chloride fendahydrate and methanol. X-ray diffraction patterns confirm that the films are polycrystalline in nature exhibiting hexagonal wurtzite type, with (0 0 2) as preferred orientation. The structural parameters such as lattice constant (‘a’ and ‘c’), crystallite size, dislocation density, micro strain, stress and texture coefficient were calculated from X-ray diffraction studies. Surface morphology was found to be modified with increasing Sn doping concentration. The ZnO films have high transmittance 85% in the visible region, and the transmittance is found to be decreased with the increase of Sn doping concentration. The corresponding optical band gap decreases from 3.25 to 3.08 eV. Room temperature photoluminescence reveals the sharp emission of strong UV peak at 400 nm (3.10 eV) and a strong sharp green luminescence at 528 nm (2.34 eV) in the Sn doped ZnO films. The electrical resistivity is found to be 106 Ω-cm at higher temperature and 105 Ω-cm at lower temperature.  相似文献

Molybdenum-doped cadmium oxide films were prepared by a spray pyrolysis technique at a substrate temperature of 300?°C. The effect of doping on structural, electrical and optical properties were studied. X-ray analysis shows that the undoped CdO films are preferentially oriented along the (111) crystallographic direction. Molybdenum doping concentration increases the films?? packing density and reorients the crystallites along the (200) plane. A?minimum resistivity of 4.68×10?4????cm with a maximum mobility of 75?cm2?V?1?s?1 is achieved when the CdO film is doped with 0.5?wt.% Mo. The band-gap value is found to increase with doping and reaches a maximum of 2.56?eV for 0.75?wt.% as compared to undoped films of 2.2?eV.  相似文献

Indium doped zinc oxide(ZnO:In) thin films were prepared by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis on corning eagle 2000 glass substrate.1 and 2 at.% indium doped single-layer ZnO:In thin films with different amounts of acetic acid added in the initial solution were fabricated. The 1 at.% indium doped single-layers have triangle grains. The 2 at.% indium doped single-layer with 0.18 acetic acid adding has the resistivity of 6.82×10-3Ω·cm and particle grains. The doublelayers structure is designed to fabricate the ZnO:In thin film with low resistivity(2.58×10-3Ω·cm) and good surface morphology. It is found that the surface morphology of the double-layer ZnO:In film strongly depends on the substratelayer, and the second-layer plays a large part in the resistivity of the double-layer ZnO:In thin film. Both total and direct transmittances of the double-layer ZnO:In film are above 80% in the visible light region.Single junction a-Si:H solar cell based on the double-layer ZnO:In as front electrode is also investigated.  相似文献

Iron oxide thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique onto glass substrates from iron chloride solution. They were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The films deposited at Ts ≤ 450 °C were amorphous; while those produced at Tsub = 500 °C were polycrystalline α-Fe2O3 with a preferential orientation along the (1 0 4) direction. By observing scanning electron microscopy (SEM), it was seen that iron oxide films were relatively homogeneous uniform and had a good adherence to the glass substrates. The grain size was found (by RX) between 19 and 25 nm. The composition of these films was examined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). These films exhibited also a transmittance value about 80% in the visible and infrared range. The cyclic voltammetry study showed that the films of Fe2O3 deposited on ITO pre-coated glass substrates were capable of charge insertion/extraction when immersed in an electrolyte of propylene carbonate (PC) with 0.5 M LiCLO4.  相似文献

In this work, we have reported the effect of In doping on structural, optical and surface properties of copper oxide films obtained by a low-cost ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. Thicknesses, refractive indices and extinction coefficients of the films have been determined by Spectroscopic ellipsometry technique using Cauchy-Urbach model for fitting. A very good agreement was found between experimental and theoretical parameters with low MSE values. Transmission and reflectance spectra have been taken by UV Spectrophotometer, and band gap values have been determined by optical method. Structural properties of the films were investigated with X-ray diffraction patterns. In doping caused the films to growth through some certain directions. Atomic force microscope images have been taken to see the effect of In doping on surface topography and roughness of copper oxide films. Surface properties of undoped films have been improved by In doping. Lowest roughness values have been obtained for In doping at 1%. As a result, we have concluded that properties of copper oxide films which are commonly used in solar cells may have improved by In doping (especially In doped at 1%).  相似文献

Cobalt oxide thin films were prepared by a facile spray pyrolysis technique, using a perfume atomizer with an aqueous solution of hydrated cobalt chloride salt with a molar concentration of 0.025?M as a source of cobalt. The films were deposited onto glass substrates at temperature of 350?°C. The structural, morphological, and electrochromic properties of the obtained films were studied. It was found from X-ray diffraction analysis that the films were polycrystalline in nature with spinel-type cubic structure and preferred orientation along [111] direction. The Scanning Electron Microscopy images revealed a porous structure with the average grain size around 200?nm. The cyclic voltammetry measurements revealed that Cobalt oxide thin film is an anodically coloring electrochromic material with a transmittance variation in the visible range of 31%, and a fast response time (about 2?seconds) and a good cycling stability. These electrochromic performances make cobalt oxide thin film an attractive material for using as an anodic electrochromic material in smart windows devices. The photoluminescence spectra exhibited a strong emission in the visible region confirming the good crystallinity properties of Co3O4 thin films.  相似文献

Aluminium-doped zinc oxide (ZnO:Al) films were prepared by magnetron sputtering at different radio-frequency powers (Prf) of 50, 100, 150 and 200 W. The properties of the films were characterised by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman microscopy, and spectrophotometry with the emphasis on the evolution of compositional, surface-morphological, optical, electrical and microstructural properties. XPS spectra showed that within the detection limit the films are chemically identical to near-stoichiometric ZnO. AFM revealed that root-mean-square roughness of the films has almost linear increase with increasing Prf. Optical band gap Egopt of the films increases from 3.31 to 3.51 eV when Prf increases from 50 to 200 W. A widening Egopt of the ZnO:Al films compared to the band gap (∼3.29 eV) of undoped ZnO films is attributed to a net result of the competition between the Burstein-Moss effect and many-body effects. An electron concentration in the films was calculated in the range of 3.73 × 1019 to 2.12 × 1020 cm−3. Raman spectroscopy analysis indicated that well-identified peaks appear at around 439 cm−1 for all samples, corresponding to the band characteristics of the wurtzite phase. Raman peaks in the range 573-579 cm−1 are also observed, corresponding to the A1 (LO) mode of ZnO.  相似文献

Mn-doped ZnO thin films with different percentage of Mn content (0, 1, 3 and 5 at.%) and substrate temperature of 350 °C, were deposited by a simple ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method under atmospheric pressure. We have studied the structural and optical properties by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and ultra-violet visible near infrared (UV–Vis-NIR) spectroscopy. The lattice parameters calculated for the Mn-doped ZnO from XRD pattern were found to be slightly larger than those of the undoped ZnO, which indicate substitution of Mn in ZnO lattice. Compared with the Raman spectra for ZnO pure films, the Mn-doping effect on the spectra is revealed by the presence of additional peak around 524 cm−1 due to Mn incorporation. With increasing Mn doping the optical band gap increases indicating the Burstein–Moss effect.  相似文献

Undoped and tin (Sn) doped ZnO thin films have been prepared by spray pyrolysis method. Effect of Sn dopant on the crystalline structure and morphological properties of ZnO thin films has been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) method. XRD patterns confirm that the films have polycrystalline nature. While undoped ZnO film has (101) as the preferred orientation, Sn doped ZnO thin films have (002) as the preferred orientation. Grain sizes, lattice parameters and texture coefficient values of the films were determined. Microstructure was analyzed by SEM and the influence of the doping concentration in the microstructure of the films is investigated.  相似文献

In this study the structural and optical properties of lanthanum-doped BaSnO3 powder samples and thin films deposited on fused silica were investigaed using laser ablation. Under an oxygen pressure of 5×10−4 mbar, phase pure BaSnO3 films with a lattice constant of 0.417 nm and grain size of 21 nm were prepared at 630 °C. The band gap of BaSnO3 powder sample and thin films was calculated to be 3.36 eV and 3.67 eV, respectively. There was a progressive increase in conductivity for thin films of BaSnO3 doped with 0~7 at% of La. The highest conductivity, 9 Scm−1, was obtained for 7 at% La-doped BaSnO3. Carrier concentration, obtained from Burstein-Moss (B-M) shift, nearly matches the measured values except for 3 at% and 10 at% La-doped BaSnO3 thin films.  相似文献

Nanostructured zinc oxide thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique using Zn(NO3)2·6H2O as the precursor solution. The resulting films were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to know crystal structure, size of crystallites and surface morphology. The films have been found to be polycrystalline zinc oxide, possessing hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure and nanocrystallite with grain size of approximately 30-35 nm. The LPG sensing performance of the films has been investigated at various concentrations of LPG in air at operating temperatures varying from 225 to 400 °C. At 325 °C the maximum responses of 46.3% and 48.9% have been observed, respectively, for concentrations of 0.8 and 1 vol% of LPG in air (1 vol% of LPG in air corresponds to 50% LEL of LPG in air). The recovery time has been found to be less than the response time for all concentrations of LPG. A possible reaction mechanism of LPG sensing has been proposed.  相似文献

CdS and CdS/Co films have been deposited on glass substrates by an ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. The effects of Co incorporation on the structural, optical, morphological, elemental and vibrational properties of these films were investigated. XRD analysis confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of all films and had no impurity phase. While CdS film has (0 0 2) as the preferred orientation, CdS/Co films have (1 1 0) as the preferred orientation. The direct optical band gap was found to decrease from 2.42 to 2.39 eV by Co incorporation. The decrease of the direct energy gaps by increasing Co contents is mainly due to the sp-d exchange interaction between the localized d-electrons of Co2+ ions and band electrons of CdS. After the optical investigations, it was seen that the transmittance of CdS films decreased by Co content. The Raman measurements revealed two peaks corresponding to the 1LO and 2LO modes of hexagonal CdS. The vibrational modes of Cd-S were obtained in the wavenumber range (590-715 cm−1) using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The elemental analysis of the film was done by energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry.  相似文献

Al or Sn doped ZnO films were deposited by spray pyrolysis using aqueous solutions. The films were deposited on either indium tin oxide coated or bare glass substrates. ZnCl2, AlCl3 and SnCl2 were used as precursors. The effect of ZnCl2 molar concentration (0.1-0.3 M) and doping percentage (2-4% AlCl3 or SnCl2) have been investigated. The main goal of this work being to grow porous ZnO thin films, small temperature substrates (200-300 °C) have been used during the spray pyrolysis deposition. It is shown that, if the X-ray diffraction patterns correspond to ZnO, the films deposited onto bare glass substrate are only partly crystallized while those deposited onto ITO coated glass substrate exhibit better crystallization. The homogeneity of the films decreases when the molar concentration of the precursor increases, while the grain size and the porosity decrease when the Al doping increases. The optical study shows that band tails are present in the absorption spectrum of the films deposited onto bare glass substrate, which is typical of disordered materials. Even after annealing 4 h at 400 °C, the longitudinal resistivity of the films is quite high. This result is attributed to the grain boundary effect and the porosity of the films. Effectively, the presence of an important reflection in the IR region in samples annealed testifies of a high free-carriers density in the ZnO crystallites. Finally it is shown that when deposited in the same electrochemical conditions, the transmission of a polymer film onto the rough sprayed ZnO is smaller than that onto smooth sputtered ZnO.  相似文献

The structural, morphological and optical properties of CuAlS2 films deposited by spray pyrolysis method have been investigated. CuAlS2 in the form of films is prepared at different deposition conditions by a simple and economical spray pyrolysis method. The structural, surface morphology and optical properties of the films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and absorbance spectra, respectively. The films were polycrystalline, crystallized in a tetragonal structure, and are preferentially orientated along the (1 1 2) direction. Grain size values, dislocation density, and d% error of CuAlS2 films were calculated. The optical band gap of the CuAlS2 film was found to be 3.45 eV. The optical constants such as refractive index, extinction coefficient and dielectric constants of the CuAlS2 film were determined. The refractive index dispersion curve of the film obeys the single oscillator model. Optical dispersion parameters Eo and Ed developed by Wemple-DiDomenico were calculated and found to be 3.562 and 12.590 eV.  相似文献

Quantum dots (QDs) of iron oxide have been deposited onto ITO coated glass substrates by spray pyrolysis technique, using ferric chloride (FeCl3·7H2O) in non-aqueous medium as a starting material. The non-aqueous solvents namely methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol were used as solvents. The effect of solvents on the film structure and morphology was studied. The structural, morphological, compositional and optical properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX), and optical absorption measurement techniques.  相似文献

A simple and inexpensive spray pyrolysis technique (SPT) was employed for the synthesis of nanocrystalline zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films onto soda lime glass and tin doped indium oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates at different substrate temperatures ranging from 300 °C to 500 °C. The synthesized films were polycrystalline, with a (0 0 2) preferential growth along c-axis. SEM micrographs revealed the uniform distribution of spherical grains of about 80-90 nm size. The films were transparent with average visible transmittance of 85% having band gap energy 3.25 eV. All the samples exhibit room temperature photoluminescence (PL). A strong ultraviolet (UV) emission at 398 nm with weak green emission centered at 520 nm confirmed the less defect density in the samples. Moreover, the samples are photoelectrochemically active and exhibit the highest photocurrent of 60 μA, a photovoltage of 280 mV and 0.23 fill factor (FF) for the Zn450 films in 0.5 M Na2SO4 electrolyte, when illuminated under UV light.  相似文献

Zinc sulfide (ZnS) thin films have been deposited on Si (1 0 0) substrate using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that the films are (0 0 2) preferentially oriented with c-axis-oriented wurtzite structure. The crystallinity has been found to improve with film thickness in the 180–6000 nm range. Film structure has been analyzed by XRD, scanning electron microscope, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopies, while the stoichiometry has been verified by energy-dispersive spectroscopy and particle-induced X-ray emission techniques. Electrical properties of the grown films were characterized by current–voltage and capacitance–voltage measurements where, the films show better conducting behavior at higher thickness.  相似文献

In this study, transparent thin films of un-doped and Co-doped nickel oxide were deposited onto microscopic glass substrates using the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The effect of cobalt doping on structural, morphological and optical properties was investigated. XRD studies reveal that all the films are polycrystalline with cubic structure and exhibit (1 1 1) and (2 2 2) preferential orientations. Co is well incorporated in the host lattice without altering the structure. All films retain high transparency throughout the visible spectral regime. No significant shift in Raman spectra was observed due to the Co doping.  相似文献
