Chromium/silicon bilayers are deposited by sequential electron beam evaporation on quartz substrates. The bilayers consisting of Cr and Si layers of 50 and 400 nm thicknesses, respectively, are subjected to post-deposition annealing at temperatures from 200 to 700 °C. The thermal annealing results in the interdiffusion between Cr and Si, as evidenced by cross-section scanning electron micrographs and the line profiles obtained from energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. It is inferred from the compositional line profiles that the films are a combination of silicon-rich oxide, chromium oxide and unreacted Cr up to 500 °C. Chromium disilicide forms at temperatures greater than 500 °C with decrease in chromium oxide content. The refractive index value and extinction coefficient values are 2.1 and 0.12 in the as-deposited case which increase to 3.5 and 0.24 at 400 °C. These values decrease to 2.1 and 0.12 at 500 °C. At the same temperatures, the band gap values are 2.21, 2.40 and 2.28, respectively. Thus, the refractive index, absorption coefficient and the optical band gap of the films peak at an annealing temperature of 400 °C and decrease thereafter. Significantly, this is accompanied by increase in Urbach energy which is an indication of increase in disorder in the system. There is decrease in Urbach energy as well as the optical constants at temperatures >400 °C.  相似文献

Using the nanosecond single-pulse laser-induced breakdown-spectroscopy (LIBS) technique, we determine the LIBS spectrum of a mixed solution of soluble compounds as a sample. Based on the LIBS measurement system established and the best experimental parameters, we measure the plasma emission spectrum of some lines of the Cr element. When the ICCD gate delay is measured from 500 to 2500 ns every 500 ns, and the liquid sample flow rate is set in the range of 35 ml · min?1?55 ml · min?1 with an interval of 5 ml · min?1, the partial emission line of the Cr element in the laser plasma is measured, and the Boltzmann oblique line is drawn after the integrated intensity obtained. We calculate the evolution characteristics of the laser-plasma electron temperature with experimental parameters. The results show that the electron temperature values obtained from the intensity of the spectral lines of different elements are consistent with each other, indicating the reliability of the experimental measurement data. The range of electron temperature is obtained from the intensity of the Cr element line in the plasma range from 4071.0 K to 5628.4 K. As the flow rate continues to increase, the plasma electron temperature also increases but gradually becomes gentle. We select Cr 357.87 nm as the analytical line in the experiment and measure the particle density ratios of the Cr element in the ground state at different ICCD gate delays and sample flow rates. It provides experimental parameter support for further LIBS quantitative analysis of trace heavy metal elements in a liquid matrix.

The effects of water addition and temperature on some physicochemical properties of room temperature ionic liquids containing chromium chloride, choline chloride and water in the molar ratio of 1:2.5:x (where x = 6, 9, 12, 15 or 18) have been studied. The density, viscosity, surface tension and conductivity of the liquid mixtures were measured for the temperature range of 25 to 80 °C. Increasing both water content and temperature resulted in decreasing density, surface tension and viscosity and increasing electrical conductivity. The average void radii (hole sizes) for the liquid systems under study were calculated; they were in the range of 1.21 to 1.82 Å. The average hole size was stated to grow with increasing both temperature and water content in the mixture. The variation of the average void radii correlates with the change in viscosity and conductivity. The activation energies of viscous flow and conductivity diminishes with increasing water content in the liquid mixture. There is a strong linear correlation between conductivity and fluidity which indicates that the conductivity of the ionic liquid mixtures is generally controlled by the ionic mobility. A moderate viscosity and higher conductivity of the Cr(III)-containing ionic liquids with extra-water addition (at x > 9) make them suitable for the development of chromium electrodeposition processes.  相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) and Cr-doped diamond-like carbon layers were studied. DLC and Cr-DLC were deposited on silicon and titanium substrates (Ti-6Al-4V) by dual-pulsed laser ablation using two KrF excimer lasers and two targets (graphite and chromium). The composition was analyzed using wavelength-dependent X-ray spectroscopy. The Cr content increased from 2.2 to 17.9 at%. The topology and surface properties as roughness of layers were studied using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. With the chromium concentration increased the roughness and the number of droplets. Carbon and chromium bonds were determined by Raman spectroscopy. With an increase in chromium content the I D/I G ratio increased. Mechanical properties of DLC films with various chromium content were evaluated. Hardness (reduced Young’s modulus) was determined by nanoindentation and reached of 51 GPa (309 GPa). Films adhesion was studied using scratch test and with concentration of chromium increased up to 20 N.  相似文献

Silicon nanowires (SiNWs) were grown on an Au-coated Si(111) substrate at various gas pressures by very high frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition via the vapor–liquid–solid mechanism. The synthesized SiNWs were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL). The SiNWs were sharp needle-shaped and possessed highly crystalline core and oxide amorphous shell. As the gas pressure increases from 70 mtorr to 85 mtorr, the average diameter of the SiNWs decreases from 250 nm to 70 nm. Furthermore, the density of the nanowires increases with the gas pressure. The PL spectra revealed a peak at about 400 nm and a broadband emission at about 700 nm.  相似文献

The present work aimed to study the variation in the plasma parameters (temperature and density) of the Ti plasma generated by 1,064 and 532 nm lasers at different ambient N2 pressures for different delay times. The characterization of the plasma-assisted pulsed laser ablation of the titanium target is discussed. The emission spectra of the titanium plasma produced in the present study have been carefully investigated over the whole UV–NIR (200–1,000 nm) spectral range. Boltzmann plots of suitable spectral lines have been employed to derive the excitation temperature, and the electron density is derived from the Stark widths of the Ti II spectral line at 350.49 nm.  相似文献

Double-pulse Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) in an orthogonal configuration was used to investigate plasma temperature and electron density effects on Mg II emission spectral line broadening. The experiments were carried out with two Nd:YAG lasers, one operating at 355 nm for ablation and the other one at 1064 nm for plasma reheating in air at atmospheric pressure. Temporally resolved plasma temperature and electron density were measured at various delay times. Data in this study show prolonged emission of Mg II (280.27 nm) as well as enhancement of the signal intensity when using double-pulse excitation compared to the single-pulse case. An enhancement of ~8× was attained with a delay between the laser pulses equal to 1 μs. The enhancement was accompanied by higher plasma temperature and increased electron density. The double-pulse LIBS configuration provides energy to sustain the plasma emission at a period in time when the linewidth is minimum, thereby improving the analytical capabilities of low spectral resolution instrumentation typically used in LIBS system.  相似文献

We present the optical emission characteristics of the barium plasma produced at the surface of barium hydroxide Ba(OH)2, also known as baryta, generated by the first harmonic (1,064 nm) of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The laser beam was focused on target material by placing it in air at atmospheric pressure. The experimentally observed line profiles of neutral barium have been used to extract the electron temperature using the Boltzmann plot method, whereas the electron number density has been determined from the Stark broadening. The electron temperature is calculated by varying distance from the target surface along the line of propagation of plasma plume and also by varying the laser energy. Besides, we have studied the variation of number density as a function of laser energy as well as its variation with distance from the target surface. It is observed that electron temperature and electron number density increase as laser energy increases.  相似文献

The present research was conducted with an aim to develop such adsorbent system: polymer-coated magnetic nanoparticles which can remove heavy metal and dye from water of different concentration. Synthesis of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for contaminated water purification has been one of the outcomes of application of rapidly growing field of Nanotechnology in Environmental Science. In the present study, the efficiency of magnetic nanoparticles for removal of Cr(VI) and dye (alizarin) from water solutions of known concentrations were evaluated. The nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation method and characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Polymer-coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles carrying functional groups on their surface were synthesized by different methods for permanent magnet-assisted removal of heavy metal (chromium) and dye (Alizarin Red S) from water. The characterization showed that synthesized nanoparticles were in the size range of 10–50 nm. The adsorption capacities of the Fe3O4 using polyMETAC-coated particles for dye (Alizarin Red S) removal were 80–96 % and chromium 62–91 %. The chromium concentration was determined after magnetic separation using atomic absorption spectrophotometer and dye concentration was estimated with UV–visible spectrophotometer. Nanoparticles of polymer coated showed the highest removal capacity from water for metal and dye. The developed adsorbents had higher capacity for removal of heavy metal ions and dye.  相似文献

In this paper we report on the effects of the insertion of Cr atoms on the electrical and optical properties of indium tin oxide (ITO) films to be used as electrodes in spin-polarized light-emitting devices. ITO films and ITO(80 nm)/Cr-doped ITO(20 nm) bilayers and Cr-doped ITO films with a thickness of 20 nm were grown by pulsed ArF excimer laser deposition. The optical, structural, morphological and electrical properties of ITO films and ITO/Cr-doped structures were characterized by UV–Visible transmission and reflection spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Hall-effect analysis. For the different investigations, the samples were deposited on different substrates like silica and carbon coated Cu grids. ITO films with a thickness of 100 nm, a resistivity as low as ~4×10?4 Ω?cm, an energy gap of ~4.3 eV and an atomic scale roughness were deposited at room temperature without any post-deposition process. The insertion of Cr into the ITO matrix in the upper 20 nm of the ITO matrix induced variations in the physical properties of the structure like an increase of average roughness (~0.4–0.5 nm) and resistivity (up to ~8×10?4 Ω?cm). These variations were correlated to the microstructure of the Cr-doped ITO films with particular attention to the upper 20 nm.  相似文献

Abstract

Quantitative analysis of chromium in standard low alloy steel samples by excimer laser ablated plasma atomic emission spectrometry was obtained. A calibration curve was developed which related the chromium concentration in a solid steel matrix to the intensity ratio of Cr(I) 520.84 nm to Fe(I) 516.75 nm. The chromium concentration determined ranged from 0.062 to 1.31 %. A detection limit of 20 μg/g (approximately 0.002 %) was estimated.  相似文献

Electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma was produced at 2.45 GHz using 200–750 W microwave power. The plasma was produced from argon gas at a pressure of 2 × 10???4 mbar. Three water-cooled solenoid coils were used to satisfy the ECR resonant conditions inside the plasma chamber. The basic parameters of plasma, such as electron density, electron temperature, floating potential, and plasma potential, were evaluated using the current–voltage curve using a Langmuir probe. The effect of microwave power coupling to the plasma was studied by varying the microwave power. It was observed that the optimum coupling to the plasma was obtained for ~ 600 W microwave power with an average electron density of ~ 6 × 1011 cm???3 and average electron temperature of ~ 9 eV.  相似文献

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has proven to be extremely versatile, providing multielement analysis in real time without sample preparation. The principle is based on the ablation of a small amount of target material by interaction of a strong laser beam with a solid target. The laser must have sufficient energy to excite atoms and to ionize them to produce plasma. We aimed to improve the LIBS limit of detection (LOD) and the precision of spectral lines emitted from the produced plasma by optimizing the parameters affecting the LIBS technique. LIBS LOD is affected by many experimental parameters such as interferences, self-absorption, spectral overlap, signal-to-noise ratio, and matrix effects. The plasma in the present study is generated by focusing a 6-ns pulsed Nd–YAG laser at the fundamental wavelength of 1,064 nm onto the Al target in air at atmospheric pressure. The emission spectra are recorded using an SE 200 Echelle spectrometer manufactured by the Catalina Corporation; it is equipped with an ICCD camera type Andor model iStar DH734-18. This spectrometer allows time-resolved spectral acquisition over the whole UV-NIR (200–1,000 nm) spectral range. Calibration curves for Cu, Mg, Mn, Si, Cr, and Fe were obtained with linear regression coefficients around 99 % on the average in aluminum standard alloy samples. The determined LOD has very useful improvements for Cu I at 521.85 nm, Si I at 288.15 nm, Mn I at 482.34 nm, and Cr I at 520.84 nm spectral lines. LOD is improved by 83.8 % for Cu, 49 % for Si, 84.3 % for Mn, and 45 % for Cr lower with respect to the previous works.  相似文献

The role of different ambient conditions on LIBS signal intensity was investigated for better understanding and performance of LIBS as a quantitative and qualitative analytical technique. For this purpose, the relative LIBS signal intensities were measured for a standard Cr line (520.8 nm) at different gas pressures of Ar, He, and air. The plasma was generated using a Q-switched pulsed Nd:YAG laser having wavelength of 1064 nm and pulse duration of 8 ns. The analysis revealed that the intensities of the spectral atomic Cr line (520.8 nm) were strongly enhanced under the argon environment in 10?C40 mbar range. The electron excitation temperature (T e ) and number density (n e ) were estimated by using a Boltzmann plot and a Stark broadening profile, respectively. For optimum dependence of LIBS, laser energy and pressure dependence was also studied. The electron temperature and number density showed an increase with increase in ambient gas pressure.  相似文献

In the present study OI spectral lines are measured, tested, and developed for diagnostics of laser-induced plasma experiments in air. The plasma plume was generated by the interaction of a 6-ns 750-mJ Nd:YAG laser at the fundamental wavelength of 1.06 µm with a standard Al target of known elemental composition in air. The emitted spectrum was in the range 200–1000 nm and was recorded using an Echelle spectrograph equipped with a time-gated ICCD camera. The measurements were performed at several delay times (0–10 µs). Based on LTE assumption, the excitation temperature is derived using a Boltzmann plot of OI emission lines. The FWHM of the Stark broadened OI line at 844.65 nm is used for electron density measurements at different times.  相似文献

The results of studying the magnetic and magnetoresonance properties of the diluted magnetic semiconductor Hg0.5Cd0.4Cr0.1Se are presented. Microanalysis of the samples shows that the introduction of cadmium and chromium elements into the host HgSe matrix leads to the formation in the crystal of the four-component compound HgCdCrSe with the high chromium content [Cr (18.96 %)] and the three-component compound HgCdSe. The measured temperature dependence of the crystal magnetization illustrates the transition to ferromagnetic ordering at the Curie temperature T C = 126 K. It is noted that the measured magnetization value points out the indicates the presence of both Cr3+ and Cr2+ ions in the compound HgCdCrSe, which is responsible for the magnetic and magnetoresonance properties of the sample under test. The electron paramagnetic resonance studies are carried out on the an X-band spectrometer in the temperature range 77 K < T < 300 K. The angular dependences of electron paramagnetic resonance spectra are shown in the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic temperature ranges. As follows from the analysis of experimental data, the aforementioned transition is accompanied by the evolution of the electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum at changing the temperature and the orientation of the sample relative to the static magnetic field in the ferromagnetic temperature range. In the assumption of the g-tensor axial symmetry the components of the latter are determined and the different law of their temperature changing is revealed in the ferromagnetic ordering state of the sample.  相似文献

The quenching of photoluminescence in a ZnSSe layer with an increase in the Cr concentration has been investigated in heterostructures with ZnSSe: Cr/ZnMgSSe quantum wells. It has been found that an increase in the Cr concentration in the quantum well to 2 × 1020 cm?3 leads to the formation of two types of magnetically ordered nanoclusters of chromium alloys in the ZnSSe: Cr layer with the magnetization blocking temperature of 170 K and above 300 K.  相似文献

In this paper, atmospheric pressure glow discharges (APGD) in argon generated in parallel plate dielectric barrier discharge system is investigated by means of electrical and optical measurements. Using a high voltage (0–20 kV) power supply operating at 10–30 kHz, homogeneous and steady APGD has been observed between the electrodes with gap spacing from 0.5 mm to 2 mm and with a dielectric barrier of thickness 2 mm while argon gas is fed at a controlled flow rate of 1 l/min. The electron temperature and electron density of the plasma are determined by means of optical emission spectroscopy. Our results show that the electron density of the discharge obtained is of the order of 1016 cm???3 while the electron temperature is estimated to be 0.65 eV. The important result is that electron density determined from the line intensity ratio method and stark broadening method are in very good agreement. The Lissajous figure is used to estimate the energy deposited to the glow discharge. It is found that the energy deposited to the discharge is in the range of 20 to 25 μJ with a discharge voltage of 1.85 kV. The energy deposited to the discharge is observed to be higher at smaller gas spacing. The glow discharge plasma is tested to be effective in reducing the hydrophobicity of polyethylene film significantly.  相似文献

In order to analyze the emission spectrum of a laser-induced plasma for obtaining quantitative information on the abundance of the species present in the plasma it is necessary to study the local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) conditions in the plasma and determine the best conditions at which they are satisfied. In the present work Nd:YAG laser light pulses (λ=?1064 nm, 6 ns) of different energies (25, 50, 75 and 100 mJ) are focused using a quartz lens (focal length 10 cm) onto certified aluminum alloy samples in air under atmospheric pressure. The emitted spectra are collected and analyzed using an echelle spectrometer coupled with an intensified charge coupled device camera. The temporal history of the plasma is obtained by recording the emission features at predetermined delays and at a fixed gate width (2500 ns). For each spectrum both electron density and excitation temperature are calculated for each delay time and laser pulse energy; we found that the values of the electron density are decreasing from 1018 to 1017 cm-3. The corresponding excitation temperatures were between 30000 and 4000 K depending on the laser pulse energy and the sample used. The LTE conditions were followed up for the different delays and different energies to determine the temporal range in which they are satisfied. It has been found that in the cases of 25- and 50-mJ laser energies, the LTE conditions were satisfied in the chosen delay range (500–5000 ns). On the other hand, for higher laser energies, the LTE conditions were critical at delay times less than 1500 ns and are satisfied for longer delays.  相似文献

Renewed interest has been established in the preparation of silicon nanoparticles for electronic device applications. In this work, we report on the production of silicon powders using a simple ball mill and of silicon nanocomposite ink for screen-printable photovoltaic device on a flexible substrate. Bulk single crystalline silicon was milled for 25 h in the ball mill. The structural properties of the produced silicon nanoparticles were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy. The results show that the particles remained highly crystalline, though transformed from their original single crystalline state to polycrystalline. The elemental composition using energy dispersive X-ray florescence spectroscopy (EDXRF) revealed that contamination from iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr) of the milling media and oxygen from the atmosphere were insignificant. The size distribution of the nanoparticles follows a lognormal pattern that ranges from 60 nm to about 1.2 μm and a mean particle size of about 103 nm. Electrical characterization of screen-printed PN structures of the nanocomposite formed by embedding the powder into a suitable water-soluble polymer on Kapton sheet reveals an enhanced photocurrent transport resulting from photo-induced carrier generation in the depletion region with energy greater that the Schottky barrier height at the metal-composite interface.  相似文献
