Two organic ligands based on a sugar-scaffold derived from galactose and possessing three O-CH(2)-pyridine pendant arms at the 3-, 4-, and 5-positions of the galactopyranose that act as chelates afford mononuclear complexes when reacted with a Ni(II) salt. The magnetization behavior in the form of M=f(H/T) plots suggests the presence of appreciable magnetic anisotropy within the two complexes. The analysis of the EPR spectra performed at two different temperatures (7 and 17 K) and at three frequencies (190, 285, and 380 GHz) leads to the conclusion that the anisotropy has a high degree of axiality (E/D=0.17 for the two complexes), but with a different sign of the D parameter. The spin hamiltonian parameters D and E were reproduced for the two complexes by using calculations based on the angular overlap model (AOM). The structural difference between the two complexes responsible of the sign of the D parameters was also determined using AOM calculations. A thorough analysis of the structures showed that the structural differences in the coordination sphere of the two complexes responsible of the different D parameter sign result from the nature of the sugar scaffolds. In complex 1, the sugar scaffold imposes an intramolecular hydrogen bond with one of the atoms linked to Ni(II); this arrangement leads to a distorted coordination sphere and positive D value, while the absence of such a hydrogen bond in complex 2 leads to a less distorted environment around the Ni center and to a negative D value.  相似文献

The preparation, spectroscopic characterization and magnetic study of N,N′-bis(substituted-phenyl)oxamidate-bridged nickel(II) dinuclear complexes of formula {[Ni(N3-mc)]2(μ-CONC6H4-X)}(PF6)2 (N3-mc = 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclo-dodec-1-ene (Me3-N3-mc) or 2,4,4,9-tetramethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclododec-1-ene (Me4-N3-mc), X = 2-Cl, 4-Cl, 2-OCH3, 4-OCH3) are reported. These paramagnetic nickel(II) complexes have been characterized by both one- and two-dimensional (COSY) 1H NMR techniques. The COSY spectrum of 5 has allowed to achieve the assignment of the phenyl protons of the N,N′-diphenyloxamidate. The crystal structures of [Ni(Me3-N3-mc)(μ-CONC6H4-4-Cl)]2(PF6)2 (6), [Ni(Me3-N3-mc)(μ-CONC6H4-4-OMe)]2(PF6)2 (8) and [Ni(Me4-N3-mc)(μ-CONC6H4-2-Cl)]2(PF6)2 (9) have been determined and their magnetic properties have been studied. The value of magnetic coupling between the two nickel(II) ions across the oxamidate bridge [J = − 37.6 (6), −39.9 (8) and −39.7 cm−1 (9)] is sensitive to the distortion of the coordination sphere of the metal ions and the topology of the molecular bridge.  相似文献

Liquid-crystalline derivatives of poly(propylene imine)dendrimers of the 0th, 1st and 2nd generations, complexed with copper(II) ions, were studied by EPR spectroscopy. The structures of copper (II) complexes with different Cu(II) loadings x per dendrimer ligand L (x = Cu/L) were determined. At the lowest concentration, the Cu(II) ions form monomeric complexes with approximately square-planar N2O2 coordination of both carbonyl oxygen and amido nitrogen atoms. At higher copper content, two kinds of Cu(II) complex sites with different geometries exist. The orienting effect of a high magnetic field was used to investigate the structure and magnetic properties of the copper(II) complexes. This effect, for the first time in dendrimers, allowed the resolution of five nitrogen super-hyperfine lines on g(z) components with the unusual coupling constant of a(Nz)= 35.9 x 10(-4) cm(-1). The combination of the magnetic parameters and the orienting effect indicates the presence of a monomeric complex with pseudotetrahedral N2O2 coordination of the Cu(II) ion, as well as a "dimer" structure with fivefold coordination, presumably due to an N3O2 environment. Higher copper loadings lead to increased exchange coupling between the complex sites.  相似文献

Pyrazolate-based dinucleating ligands with thioether-containing chelate arms have been used for the synthesis of a family of novel tetranuclear nickel(II) complexes [L2Ni4(N3)3(O2CR)](ClO4)2 that incorporate three azido bridges and one carboxylate (R = Me, Ph). Molecular structures have been elucidated by X-ray crystallography in four cases, revealing Ni4 cores with a unique topology in which two of the azido ligands adopt an unusual mu3-1,1,3 bridging mode. The compounds were further characterized by mass spectrometry, IR spectroscopy, and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. Magnetic data analyses indicate a combination of significant intramolecular ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions that give rise to an overall S(T) = 0 ground state. The sign and the magnitude of the individual couplings have been rationalized in the framework of the common magnetostructural correlations for end-to-end and end-on azido linkages, suggesting that these correlations also remain valid for the respective fragments of multiply bridging mu3-1,1,3 azido ligands.  相似文献

Condensation of 2,4-bis(phenylhydroxymethyl)furan with pyrrole and p-toluylaldehyde formed, instead of the expected 5,20-diphenyl-10,15-di(p-tolyl)-2-oxa-21-carbaporphyrin, a pyrrole addition product [(H,pyr)OCPH]H(2); this product can formally be considered as an effect of hydrogenation of 3-(2'-pyrrolyl)-5,20-diphenyl-10,15-di(p-tolyl)-2-oxa-21-carbaporphyrin ([(pyr)OCPH]H). The new oxacarbaporphyrinoid presents the (1)H NMR spectroscopy features of an aromatic molecule, including the upfield shift of the inner H21 atom. Insertion of NiCl(2) or PdCl(2) into [(H,pyr)OCPH]H(2) gave two structurally related organometallic complexes, [(pyr)OCP]Ni(II)] and [(pyr)OCP]Pd(II)], in which the metal ions are bound by three pyrrolic nitrogens and the trigonally hybridized C21 atom of the inverted furan. The reaction of [(H,pyr)OCPH]H(2) with silver(I) acetate yields a stable Ag(III) complex [(C(2)H(5)O,pyr)OCP]Ag(III)] substituted at the C3 position by the ethoxy and pyrrole moieties. The macrocyclic frame of [(H,pyr)OCPH]H(2) is conserved. Addition of trifluoroacetic acid to [(C(2)H(5)O,pyr)OCP]Ag(III)] yielded a new aromatic complex [(pyr)OCP]Ag(III)](+). The structures of [(pyr)OCP]Ni(II)] and [(C(2)H(5)O,pyr)OCP]Ag(III)] have been determined by X-ray crystallography. In both molecules the macrocycles are only slightly distorted from planarity and the nickel(II) and silver(III) are located in the NNNC plane. The dihedral angle between the macrocyclic and appended-pyrrole planes of [(pyr)OCP]Ni(II)] reflects the biphenyl-like arrangement with the NH group pointing out toward the adjacent phenyl ring on the C5 position. Tetrahedral geometry around the C3 atom was detected for [(C(2)H(5)O,pyr)OCP]Ag(III)]. The Ni[bond]C and Ag[bond]C bond lengths are similar to other nickel(II) or silver(III) carbaporphyrinoids where the trigonal carbon atom coordinates the metal ion. The trend detected in the (13)C chemical shifts for the appended-pyrrole resonances has been rationalized by the extent of effective conjugation between the macrocycle and the appended pyrrole moiety controlled by the hybridization of the C3 atom and the metal ion oxidation state. The dianionic or trianionic macrocyclic core of the pyrrole-appended derivatives is favored to match the oxidation state of nickel(II), palladium(II), or silver(III), respectively.  相似文献

It is well-known that the azido bridge gives rise antiferromagnetic (AF) or ferromagnetic (F) coupling depending on its coordination mode, namely end-to-end or end-on, respectively. The aim of the present work is to analyse the factors contributing to this different magnetic behaviour. The difference dedicated configuration interaction (DDCI) method is applied to several binuclear Cu(II) azido-bridged models with both types of coordination. In end-on complexes, the direct exchange and the spin polarisation contributions are found to be responsible for the ferromagnetic coupling. In end-to-end complexes, both the direct exchange and the spin polarisation are small and the leading term is the antiferromagnetic dynamical polarisation contribution. The most relevant physical effects are included in the DDCI calculations so that good quantitative agreement is reached for the coupling constant as well as the spin densities.  相似文献

The isolation, structural characterization, and electronic properties of two six-coordinated chloromanganese (III) complexes, [Mn(terpy)(Cl)3] (1) and [Mn(Phterpy)(Cl)3] (2), are reported (terpy = 2,2':6'2"-terpyridine, Phterpy = 4'-phenyl-2,2':6',2"-terpyridine). These complexes complement a series of mononuclear azide and fluoride Mn(lll) complexes synthesized with neutral N-tridentate ligands, [Mn(L)(X)3] (X = F- or N3 and L = terpy or bpea [N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-ethylamine)], previously described. Similar to these previous complexes, 1 and 2 exhibit a Jahn-Teller distortion of the octahedron, characteristic of a high-spin Mn(III) complex (S = 2). The analysis of the crystallographic data shows that, in both cases, the manganese ion lies in the center of a distorted octahedron characterized by an elongation along the tetragonal axis. Their electronic properties were investigated by multifrequency EPR (190-475 GHz) performed in the solid state at different temperatures (5-15 K). This study confirms our previous results and further shows that: i) the sign of D is correlated with the nature of the tetragonal distortion; ii) the magnitude of D is not sensitive to the nature of the anions in our series of rhombic complexes, contrary to the porphyrinic systems; iii) the [E/D] values (0.124 for 1 and 0.085 for 2) are smaller compared to those found for the [Mn(L)(X)3] complexes (in the range of 0.146 to 0.234); and iv) the E term increases when the ligand-field strength of the equatorial ligands decreases.  相似文献

The new compounds [(acac)2Ru(μ‐boptz)Ru(acac)2] ( 1 ), [(bpy)2Ru(μ‐boptz)Ru(bpy)2](ClO4)2 ( 2 ‐(ClO4)2), and [(pap)2Ru(μ‐boptz)Ru(pap)2](ClO4)2 ( 3 ‐(ClO4)2) were obtained from 3,6‐bis(2‐hydroxyphenyl)‐1,2,4,5‐tetrazine (H2boptz), the crystal structure analysis of which is reported. Compound 1 contains two antiferromagnetically coupled (J=?36.7 cm?1) RuIII centers. We have investigated the role of both the donor and acceptor functions containing the boptz2? bridging ligand in combination with the electronically different ancillary ligands (donating acac?, moderately π‐accepting bpy, and strongly π‐accepting pap; acac=acetylacetonate, bpy=2,2′‐bipyridine pap=2‐phenylazopyridine) by using cyclic voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy for several in situ accessible redox states. We found that metal–ligand–metal oxidation state combinations remain invariant to ancillary ligand change in some instances; however, three isoelectronic paramagnetic cores Ru(μ‐boptz)Ru showed remarkable differences. The excellent tolerance of the bpy co ‐ ligand for both RuIII and RuII is demonstrated by the adoption of the mixed ‐ valent form in [L2Ru(μ‐boptz)RuL2]3+, L=bpy, whereas the corresponding system with pap stabilizes the RuII states to yield a phenoxyl radical ligand and the compound with L=acac? contains two RuIII centers connected by a tetrazine radical‐anion bridge.  相似文献

The neutral bisimidoylamidine (or 1,3,5-triazapentadiene) Ni(II) complexes [Ni{HN=C(R)N=C(C(6)H(4)CO)N}(2)] {R=Me, Et, nPr, iPr, (CH(2))(3)Cl}, bearing an iminoisoindolinone moiety, have been generated by a novel 2-propanone oxime-mediated single-pot reaction of phthalonitrile and nickel(II) acetate in solution of the corresponding alkylnitrile (RCN). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses indicate a square-planar geometry of the imidoylamidine core. The synthesised compounds represent rare specimens of genuine unsymmetrical imidoylamidine complexes as well as their first examples generated from nitriles in a single-pot reaction.  相似文献

A new bromo-bridged Ni III compound has been synthesized. This compound displayed a strong antiferromagnetic interaction between spins located on Ni III species (J=(2350+/-500) K) that result from the strong covalency of the Ni--Br bond and the spin-Peierls transition below 150 K. This was shown by the results of magnetic susceptibility and 81Br nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy analysis. We succeeded in the electrostatic carrier doping of a single crystalline sample by using a field-effect transistor device. This compound also showed n-type semiconductor behavior, which can be reasonably rationalized by the existence of a small amount of Ni II impurities.  相似文献

Selective adsorption of Ni(II) amine complexes used as precursors for supported catalysts was studied on amorphous silica surfaces. The nature of the adsorption sites was probed by [Ni(en)(dien) (H2O)]2+, [Ni(en)2(H2O)2]2+, and [Ni(dien)(H2O)3]2+ (en = ethylenediamine, dien = diethylenetriamine), which respectively contain one, two, and three labile aqua ligands. The silica surface acts as a mono- or polydentate ligand that can substitute the aqua ligands of the Ni(II) complexes in an inner-sphere adsorption mechanism. Room-temperature adsorption isotherms indicate that each nickel complex selects a limited number of adsorption sites; different sites are recognised by the three complexes, even though they have the same charge and comparable sizes. Several spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis/NIR, EXAFS, and 29Si NMR) were used to confirm the selective character of the interaction of Ni(II) amine complexes with the silica surface. The specific sites include both silanol/silanolate groups in the same number as the original labile ligands and other surface groups that probably act as hydrogen-bond acceptors. These two types of groups cooperate to result in interfacial molecular-recognition phenomena with interactional complementarity.  相似文献

Using two kinds of carboxylate ligands with small but significant differences in steric size, symmetric and asymmetric FeII and NiII cubanes have been synthesized in a controlled fashion. Fast sweeping pulsed field measurements showed magnetization hysteresis loops for two cubane‐type molecular complexes, [Ni4(μ‐OMe)4(O2CAr4F‐Ph)4(HOMe)8] and [Ni4(μ‐OMe)4(O2CArTol)4(HOMe)6], thus suggesting single‐molecule magnet behavior. To differentiate the magnetic properties between the symmetric and asymmetric cubanes, detailed electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements were performed. From the EPR data, taken at various frequencies and temperatures, zero‐field splitting parameters D, E, and other higher‐order parameters for both cubane samples were extracted. Compared to the symmetric Ni‐cubane, the asymmetric one shows an increase in the D and E values by about 20 %, thereby suggesting structural engineering effects on the magnetic properties. By using the magnetic parameters determined by EPR, a static magnetization curve at 2 K and a temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility were simulated. A good agreement between theoretical and experimental data confirms the validity of the values obtained from EPR measurements.  相似文献
