A special case of a transversely isotropic elastic medium is considered. This medium is excited by a point force perpendicular
to the anisotropy axis. The wave field in this medium is constructed and investigated. The front sets of SV and SH waves are
in contact with one another at a point. In order to investigate a neighborhood of this point, we derive simpler expressions
for the wave field and establish a special function describing the tangency of two front sets. Bibliography: 8 titles.

In order to study wave propagation in porous layered media with a sliding contact between the elastic phases on the interfaces, effective models of these media are investigated. For these models, the front sets of four waves excited by point sources are established and formulas for the wave velocities along the axes are derived. The methods of constructing the front sets applied in this paper allow one to point out special features of these front sets such as loops and juts. The particular case where all of the layers are identical and a sliding contact occurs between layers is also considered. Bibliography: 8 titles. 相似文献

An approach of averaging block elastic-fluid media is proposed, and an effective model for a block medium in which every cell consists of three elastic blocks and one fluid block is constructed. An investigation of the model equations shows that in this model two longitudinal waves and one wave with a concave front set propagate. The limiting cases where the fluid block is narrowed down to a point or where the fluid block occupies the whole cell are considered in the paper. We obtain an inner and an outer estimates of wave front sets and analytic wave front sets of the Riemann function of elastic interface problems by using the localization method due to Wakabayashi. In our problem the outer estimate of wave front sets and analytic wave front sets of the Riemann function coincides with the inner estimate of those. The strong point of our results is to catch the lateral wave as well as the incident, the reflected, and the refracted waves. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Using a boundary method, we investigated the scattering of elastic plane harmonic SH, SV, P, and Rayleigh waves by three-dimensional nonaxisymmetric dipping layers embedded in an elastic half-space. The valley was subjected to incident Rayleigh wave and oblique incident SH, SV, and P waves. The method utilized spherical wave functions to express the unknown scattered field. These functions satisfy the equation of motion and radiation conditions at infinity but they do not satisfy the stress-free boundary conditions at the surface of the half-space. The boundary and continuity conditions are imposed locally in the least-square-sense at several points on the layer interface and on the surface of the half-space. A comparative study was done to examine the validity and limitations of the two-dimensional approximations (antiplane and plane strain models) of three-dimensional models. It is demonstrated that the two-dimensional approximations may be inadequate to represent actual displacement field for three-dimensional irregularities. 相似文献

The propagation of plane harmonic waves are studied in a microstretch fluid medium. It is found that five basic waves can propagate at distinct speeds in an infinite linear homogeneous isotropic microstretch fluid. Out of these five waves, one is a longitudinal micro-rotational wave, two are coupled longitudinal waves and remaining two are coupled transverse waves. The longitudinal micro-rotational wave travels independently and is not influenced by the microstretching of the medium, while the coupled longitudinal waves arise due to the presence of microstretching and coupled transverse waves arise due to the presence of micro-rotation in the medium. Speed of propagation of all the waves are found to be complex valued and dispersive at low frequency, but almost non-dispersive at high frequency. Due to complex valued speeds of propagation, all the waves are attenuating but differently. Coupled sets of longitudinal waves reduce to a longitudinal wave of micropolar fluid in the absence of microstretching. Reflection phenomena of a set of coupled longitudinal waves incident obliquely at the free surface of a microstretch fluid half-space has been investigated. Closed formulae for the reflection coefficients are presented and computed numerically for a particular medium. The real and imaginary parts of the complex speeds of all the waves and their corresponding attenuation coefficients have also been studied numerically and depicted graphically against frequency parameter. 相似文献

The paper presents a study of propagation of shear wave (SH‐wave) in an orthotropic elastic medium under initial stress sandwiched by a homogeneous semi‐infinite medium and an inhomogeneous half‐space. The technique of separation of variables has been adopted to get the analytical solutions for the dispersion relation in a closed form. The propagation of SH‐waves is influenced by inhomogeneity parameters and initial stress parameter. Velocities of SH‐waves are calculated numerically for different cases. As a special case when the intermediate layer and half‐space are homogeneous, computed frequency equation coincides with general equation of Love wave. To study the effect of inhomogeneity parameters and initial stress parameter, we have plotted the velocity of SH‐wave in several figures and observed that the velocity of wave decreases with the increases of non‐dimensional wave number. It can be found that the phase velocity decreases with the increase of inhomogeneity parameters. We observed that the velocity of SH‐wave decreases with the increases of initial stress parameter in both homogeneous and inhomogeneous media. GUI has been developed by using MATLAB to generalize the effect of the parameters discussed. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The estimation of interface damage of fiber-reinforced composites based on the propagation constants of coherent waves is
studied in this paper. First, the relation between the interface damage and the propagation constants is investigated by using
the theory of multiple scattering. Next, single and multiple scatterings in the composites in the case of incident P, SV,
and SH waves are considered. The propagation constants of coherent waves are computed numerically, and the influence of interface
damage on them is discussed. Then, based on the relation between the propagation constants and the interface damage, an inverse
method to estimate the interface damage is proposed. Finally, a numerical example is given. The numerical results are obtained
by using synthetic experimental data and the genetic algorithm. It is shown by the numerical example that the interface damage
can be approximately estimated from the wave propagation constants measured with various degrees of accuracy. 相似文献

The medium under consideration consists of identical rectangular cells. Every cell includes four porous blocks with slide contact on the interfaces of blocks. For such a medium, an effective model is established. This effective model is described by thirteen equations, is a five-phase model, and consists of four elastic phases and one fluid phase. In this model, five waves propagate. The front sets of three waves are convex, but two waves have concave front sets. The velocities of the waves along the axes are the roots of the equations that are derived in the paper. Bibliography: 8 titles. 相似文献

We consider the diffraction of impulsive SV waves by a fluid circular cylinder. The cylinder is embedded in an unbounded isotropic homogeneous elastic medium and it is filled with some acoustic fluid. The line source, generating the incident pulse, is situated outside the cylinder parallel to its axis. We investigate the problem by the method of dual integral transformation as developed by Friedlander. The resulting integrals are evaluated approximately to obtain the short-time estimate of the motion near the wave front in the shadow zone of the elastic medium. We also interpret the approximate solution in terms of Keller’s geometrical theory of diffraction. 相似文献

In this paper, the propagation of Love waves in anisotropic elastic media is studied. These waves are a similar to the transverse
surface SH waves in the isotropic case. Necessary conditions for the existence of Love waves of this polarization type near
the surface Σ of an anisotropic elastic body are deduced. The algorithm developed here makes it possible to find the direction
(s) of transverse surface wave propagation (at every point on the surface Σ). The algorithm employed is illustrated by some
special anisotropic cases. The space-time method is used to construct the asymptotics of Love waves for those types of anisotropic
media the eikonal equation of which is valid on the surface of an elastic body.

For a homogeneous, transversely isotropic elastic medium excited by a point force acting on the isotropy plane, an exact displacement field is constructed. This field decomposes into P-SV waves and SH waves. For SH waves satisfying the Lamé equations, boundary conditions are established and rather simple expressions are derived. These expressions are compared with the first terms of the ray series. Bibliography: 9 titles. 相似文献

The asymptotics of high-frequency Love waves, which are analogous to transverse surface SH waves, is considered for a special type of anisotropy (transverse isotropy) of elastic media. The wave field is represented as a sum of the space-time (ST) caustic expansion and two additional ST ray series for faster (relative to the transverse surface wave) body waves, decaying exponentially with depth. Near the surface, the coefficients of the ST caustic and ray series, as well as the eikonals of waves, are determined in the form of expansions in a small parameter, which characterizes the proximity of the caustic of the ray field to the surface. With regard for the specific structure of the elasticity tensor of a transversely isotropic medium, the surface is treated as a plane. Interrelations between the parameters of elasticity, which are consistent with the conditions of the positivity of the elastic deformation energy and provide for the origination of the surface waves considered, are obtained.Translated fromZapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov POMI, Vol. 239, 1997, pp. 243–262.This work was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research under grant No. 96-01-00666. 相似文献

Problems on the diffraction of elastic plane waves (transverse and longitudinal) scattered on a cylinder are investigated. The radius a of the cylinder is small enough (
, where
is the wave number). The waves of horizontal polarization (SH waves) are scattered similarly to the electromagnetic wave of the respective polarization. It is proved that a small inhomogeneity radiates as a point source, with its amplitude proportional to the difference of the Lamé parameters
and
and to the area of a cross section of the inhomogeneity. The scattering of a plane wave of vertical polarization is subject to a more complicated law of radiation, because of the vector nature of the problem, and the respective components of the displacement vector are represented in terms of the scalar and vector potentials. However, the scattering of the wave field on the small inhomogeneity has qualitatively the same asymptotic behavior as in the case of the SH wave. Bibliography: 4 titles. 相似文献

In distribution theory the pullback of a general distribution by a C
∞-function is well-defined whenever the normal bundle of the C
∞-function does not intersect the wave front set of the distribution. However, the Colombeau theory of generalized functions
allows for a pullback by an arbitrary c-bounded generalized function. It has been shown in previous work that in the case
of multiplication of Colombeau functions (which is a special case of a C
∞ pullback), the generalized wave front set of the product satisfies the same inclusion relation as in the distributional case,
if the factors have their wave front sets in favorable position. We prove a microlocal inclusion relation for the generalized
pullback (by a c-bounded generalized map) of Colombeau functions. The proof of this result relies on a stationary phase theorem
for generalized phase functions, which is given in the Appendix. Furthermore we study an example (due to Hurd and Sattinger),
where the pullback function stems from the generalized characteristic flow of a partial differential equation.

The non-linear behavior of waves including the characteristic front, the expansion wave front and the shock front, in a mixture of gas and dust particles has been studied. Such waves are conceived of as produced by a piston moving with a small velocity as compared with the speed of sound. The trajectories of these waves and the particle paths in the physical plane are determined. The effect of solid particles and the adiabatic heat exponent on the wave propagation is also investigated. 相似文献

Effects of initial stresses on the dispersion curves of Lamb and SH waves in multilayered PZT-4/PZT-5A composites are investigated using the polynomial expansion approach. The piezoelectric layers are considered with arbitrary crystal orientations with a result that only Lamb or SH waves may be transmitted. The problem is solved employing the Legendre polynomial approach that poses the advantages of numerically stability and effectiveness over conventional matrix method. The solution is validated by comparing the wave propagation behavior of piezoelectric materials with those reported in literature, and the convergence properties are examined. Numerical results demonstrate that initial stress has profound influences on the guided wave propagation in multilayered PZT-4/PZT-5A laminates. The phase velocity of Lamb and SH waves increases with initial tensile stresses. In addition, the effects of initial stresses rely on the wave mode and thickness of constituent layers and the stacking sequence of the constituent materials. The results are useful for understanding and optimization of new designs for actuator, electromechanical sensor and acoustic wave devices made of PZT-4/PZT-5A composites. 相似文献

Solutions of the wave equation (waves) initiated by infinitely distant sources (controls) are considered, and the L2-completeness of reachable sets consisting of such waves is stidued. This problem is a natural analog of the control problem
for a bounded domain where the completeness (local approximate controllability) in subdomains filled with waves generated
by boundary controls occurs. It is shown that, in contrast to the latter case, the reachable sets formed by waves incoming
from infinity are not complete in filled subdomains and describe the associated defect. Next, extending the class of controls
to a set of special polynomials, the completeness is gained. A transform defined by jumps that arise in projecting functions
to reachable sets is introduced. Its relevance to the Radon transform is clarified. Bibliography: 7 titles.

Interference attenuating waves traveling in a cylindrical elastic waveguide, placed in an elastic medium, are considered. The group velocity of these waves is intermediate between that of the P wave and that of the S wave; the phase velocity equals that of the P wave. The frequency of the waves is almost constant and is determined by the requirement of constructive interference. The dispersion and attenuation of these waves are described.
