We introduce a MAC-like scheme (a covolume method on rectangular grids) for approximating the generalized Stokes problem on an axiparallel domain. Two staggered grids are used in the derivation of the discretization. The velocity is approximated by conforming bilinears over rectangular elements, and the pressure by piecewise constants over macro-rectangular elements. The error in the velocity in the H1 norm and the pressure in the L2 norm are shown to be of first order, provided that the exact velocity is in H2 and the exact pressure in H1, and that the partition family of the domain is regular. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

According to S. Bochner [6, 7]: IfD =B +i n is a tube domain in ℂ n , where B is a domain in ℝ n , and if [(B)\tilde]\tilde B is the convex envelope of B, then any holomorphic function on D extends to the tube domain [(D)\tilde] = [(B)\tilde] + i\mathbbRn \tilde D = \tilde B + i\mathbb{R}^n , which is a univalent envelope of holomorphy of D. We give a generalization of this result to (nonunivalent) tube domains over a complex Lie group which admit a closed sub-group as a real form. Application: If (V, φ) is a tube domain over ℂ n and if B is the convex envelope of ϕ(V)∩ℝ n in ℝ n , then [(V)\tilde] = B + i\mathbbRn \tilde V = B + i\mathbb{R}^n is an envelope of holomorphy of (V, φ).  相似文献

We consider results, both in one complex variable and several, which show that the algebraic or geometric structure of the automorphism group of a domain z can determine that domain. We study the induced ˉ∂-equation on a positive current in a complex manifold. We extend the L 2-estimates for the ˉ∂-equation to harmonic currents of bidimension (1,1), satisfying a Frobenius type condition. We assume that Ωt is a domain in ?3, arbitrarily (but continuously) varying for 0?t?T. We impose no conditions on smoothness or shape of Ωt. We prove the global in time existence of a weak solution of the Navier–Stokes equation with Dirichlet's homogeneous or inhomogeneous boundary condition in Q[0, T) := {( x , t);0?t?T, x ∈Ωt}. The solution satisfies the energy‐type inequality and is weakly continuous in dependence of time in a certain sense. We consider a set of Neumann (mixed, respectively) eigenvalue problems for the Laplace operator. Each problem is posed in a bounded domain ΩR of ?n, with n=2,3, which contains a fixed bounded domain B where the density takes the value 1 and 0 outside. ΩR has a diameter depending on a parameter R, with R?1, diam(ΩR) →∞ as R→∞ and the union of these sets is the whole space ?n (the half space {x∈?n/xn<0}, respectively). Depending on the dimension of the space n, and on the boundary conditions, we describe the asymptotic behaviour of the eigenelements as R→∞. The Neumann problem for the Stokes system is studied on a domain in R 3 with Ljapunov bounded boundary. We construct a solution of this problem in the form of appropriate potentials and determine unknown source densities via integral equation systems on the boundary of the domain. We show that a Lipschitz domain can be expanded solely near a part of its boundary, assuming that the part is enclosed by a piecewise C 1 curve. The expanded domain as well as the extended part are both Lipschitz. We apply this result to prove a regular decomposition of standard vector Sobolev spaces with vanishing traces only on part of the boundary. Another application in the construction of low-regularity projectors into finite element spaces with partial boundary conditions is also indicated.  相似文献

We consider mixed problems for strongly elliptic second-order systems in a bounded domain with Lipschitz boundary in the space ℝ n . For such problems, equivalent equations on the boundary in the simplest L 2-spaces H s of Sobolev type are derived, which permits one to represent the solutions via surface potentials. We prove a result on the regularity of solutions in the slightly more general spaces H p s of Bessel potentials and Besov spaces B p s . Problems with spectral parameter in the system or in the condition on a part of the boundary are considered, and the spectral properties of the corresponding operators, including the eigenvalue asymptotics, are discussed.  相似文献

We study the approximate controllability of a stationary Stokes system with linearized convection in a bounded domain of N. The control acts on a part of the boundary and the velocity field is observed on an interior curve (N=2) or surface (N=3). We establish the L 2-approximate controllability under certain compatibility conditions and suitable geometrical assumptions on the curve or surface. We build controls of minimal L 2-norm by duality. To compute the control, we propose a numerical method, based on duality techniques, consisting in the minimization of a nonquadratic functional coupled to a Stokes system. It is tested in several situations leading to interesting numerical results.  相似文献

We study the existence of multiple positive solutions to a nonlinear Dirichlet problem for the p-Laplacian (in a bounded domain in ℝ N ) with a concave nonlinearity and with a nonlinear perturbation involving a function of the spatial variable whose sign can change the character of concavity. Under two different sets of conditions imposed on the perturbation, we prove the existence of two and three positive solutions, respectively.  相似文献

We study the branch of semistable and unstable solutions (i.e., those whose Morse index is at most 1) of the Dirichlet boundary value problem ? Δu = λf(x)/(1 ? u)2 on a bounded domain Ω ? ?N, which models—among other things—a simple electrostatic microelectromechanical system (MEMS) device. We extend the results of 11 relating to the minimal branch, by obtaining compactness along unstable branches for 1 ≤ N ≤ 7 on any domain Ω and for a large class of “permittivity profiles” f. We also show the remarkable fact that powerlike profiles f(x) ? |x|α can push back the critical dimension N = 7 of this problem by establishing compactness for the semistable branch on the unit ball, also for N ≥ 8 and as long as As a byproduct, we are able to follow the second branch of the bifurcation diagram and prove the existence of a second solution for λ in a natural range. Convergence theorems and asymptotic estimates (as ϵ→0) are proved for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a mixed boundary value problem for the Laplace operator in a junction Ωϵ of a domain Ω0 and a large number N2 of ϵ‐periodically situated thin cylinders with thickness of order ϵ=O(N−1). We construct an extension operator that is only asymptotically bounded in ϵ on the eigenfunctions in the Sobolev space H1. We shall construct a periodic strong solution of the Navier–Stokes equations for some periodic external force in a perturbed half‐space and an aperture domain of the dimension n?3. Our proof is based on LpLq estimates of the Stokes semigroup. We apply LpLq estimates to the integral equation which is transformed from the original equation. We study a generalized Crank–Nicolson scheme for the time discretization of a fractional wave equation, in combination with a space discretization by linear finite elements. The scheme uses a non-uniform grid in time to compensate for the singular behaviour of the exact solution at t = 0. With appropriate assumptions on the data and assuming that the spatial domain is convex or smooth, we show that the error is of order k 2 + h 2, where k and h are the parameters for the time and space meshes, respectively.  相似文献
