The influence of structure and lipophilicity of dicyclohexylamides on the lithium selectivity in membrane electrodes is discussed. The crystal structures of the triamide podand1 and its complex with LiBr1b has been determined by X-ray analysis. Crystal data for ligand1: C48H83O6N3, triclinic,P1,a=10.749(2),b=12.097(3),c=19.123(6)Å, =95.76(2),=80.06(2), =100.27(2)0,V=2403(1) Ã3,Z=2. Crystal data for the lithium complex1b: C48H83O6N3·LiBr·x C2H5OH, monoclinic,P2 1/c,a=21.297(6),b=16.316(8),c=19.450(4) Å,=110.87(2)0,V=6315(3) Å3,Z=4. In the complex the ligand adopts a conformation in which oxygen binding sites surrounding the Li+ cation form a slightly distorted trigonal prism. Abstract

New chiral receptors characterized by acyclic polyether skeletons and neutral terminal substituents were derived from naturally occurring monensin, lasalocid, salinomycin and nigericin ionophores. Their chiral recognition ability was investigated by ion-selective electrode and 1H-NMR spectroscopic methods. Monensin ester and amide derivatives specifically formed 1:1 complexes with chiral amine salts and exhibited excellent enantiomer selectivity, while parent monensin rarely discriminated between the enantiomers of examined amine salts. This review describes how chemical modification of naturally occurring ionophores provides unique molecular recognition functions and a new synthetic strategy for chiral receptor molecules.  相似文献

Six kinds of tetra alkylester type calix[4]arene derivatives, (R1=R2=CH31, C2H52, C3H73,n-C4H94,t-C4H95,n-C10H216), a diethyl-didecyl mixed ester type (R1=C2H5, R2 =C10H217), and three kinds of lower rim bridged types (R1=C2H5, R2–R2=(CH2)108, (CH2)129, (CH2)2(OCH2CH2)310) were characterized by electrochemical measurement to elucidate the effect of the length of the alkyl group of alkoxycarbonyl substituents on Na+ selectivity. To obtain excellent Na+ selective ionophores, introduction of short chain alkyl groups rather than long chain ones, such as a decyl group, and maintenance of sufficient solubility of the calix[4]arene derivatives in the membrane solvent are required concurrently. Among the calix[4]arenes tested, 25,26,27,28-tetrakis[(ethoxycarbonyl)methoxy]-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene2, and the diethyl-didecyl mixed ester type derivative7 are the best ionophores for a Na+ selective electrode. On the other hand, sodium selectivity of the bridged type derivative9 is comparable or even superior to that of the known bis(12-crown-4).This paper is dedicated to the commemorative issue on the 50th anniversary of calixarenes.  相似文献

Palladium sensors based on two neutral ionophores, N,N′-bis(acetylacetone) cyclohexanediamine (L1) and N,N′-bis(o-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (L2) for quantification of palladium ions are described. Effect of various plasticizers (o-NPOE, DBP, DEP, DOP, TBP, and CN) and anion excluder, sodium tetra phenyl borate (NaTPB) has been studied. The best performance is obtained with a membrane composition of PVC:o-NPOE:ionophore (L1):NaTPB of 150:300:5:5 (%, w/w). The sensor exhibits significantly enhanced selectivity towards palladium ion over the concentration range 1.0 × 10−8 to 1.0 × 10−1 M with a lower detection limit of 4.0 × 10−9 M and a Nernstian compliance (29.1 ± 0.3 mV decade−1 of activity) within pH range 2.0-6.0 and fast response time of 10 s. Influence of the membrane composition and possible interfering ions has also been investigated on the response properties of the electrode. Fast and stable response, good reproducibility and long-term stability of the sensor are demonstrated. The sensor has been found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 20% (v/v) content of methanol, ethanol and acetonitrile and could be used for a period of 4 months. Selectivity coefficients determined with fixed interference method (FIM) indicate high selectivity for palladium. The proposed electrode shows fairly good discrimination of palladium from other cations. The application of prepared sensor has been demonstrated in determination of palladium ions in spiked water sample.  相似文献

Nine monoazathiacrown ethers have been synthesized and explored as ionophores for polymeric membrane Ag+-selective electrodes. Potentiometric responses reveal that the ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) based on 2,2′-thiodiethanethiol derivatives can exhibit excellent selectivities toward Ag+. The plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode using 22-membered N2S5-ligand as ionophore has been characterized and its logarithmic selectivity coefficients for Ag+ over most of the interfering cations have been determined as <−8.0. Under optimal conditions, a lower detection limit of 2.2 × 10−10 M can be obtained for the membrane Ag+-ISE.  相似文献

A novel membrane electrode for Pb(II) ion detection based on semi-conducting poly(m-phenylenediamine) microparticles as a unique solid ionophore was fabricated. The electrode exhibited significantly enhanced response towards Pb(II) over the concentration range from 3.16 × 10−6 to 0.0316 M at pH 3.0-5.0 with a low detection limit of 6.31 × 10−7 M, a high sensitivity displaying a near-Nernstian slope of 29.8 mV decade−1 for Pb(II). The electrode showed a long lifetime of 5 months and a short response time of 14 s. A systematical investigation on the effect of anion excluder and various foreign ions on the selectivity of the electrode by a fixed interference method suggests that all other metal ions hardly ever interfere with the determination of Pb(II) except high concentration Hg(II). The electrode was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Pb(II) with EDTA. Furthermore, the electrode has been used to satisfactorily analyze four types of real-world samples like spiked human urine, spiked tap water, and river water containing interfering ions like Na(I), Ca(II), Mg(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Fe(III), K(I), Cu(II) and Hg(II) up to 8.04 × 10−4 M, demonstrating fast response, high selectivity, good recovery (96.6-121.4%), good repeatability (RSD 0.31-6.45%), and small relative error (5.0%).  相似文献

The construction and performance characteristics of polymeric membrane electrodes based on two neutral ionophores, N,N′-[bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene]butane-1,4-diamine (S1) and N-(2-pyridinylmethylene)-1,2-benzenediamine (S2) for quantification of cadmium ions, are described. The influences of membrane compositions on the potentiometric response of the electrodes have been found to substantially improve the performance characteristics. The best performance was obtained with the electrode having a membrane composition (w/w) of (S1) (2.15%):PVC (32.2%):o-NPOE (64.5%):KTpClPB (1.07%). The proposed electrode exhibits Nernstian response in the concentration range of 7.9 × 10−8 to 1.0 × 10−1 M Cd2+ with limit of detection 5.0 × 10−8 M, performs satisfactorily over wide pH range (2.0-8.0) with a fast response time (10 s). The sensor has been found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 30% (v/v) content of methanol, ethanol and acetonitrile and could be used for a period of 2 months. The analytical usefulness of the proposed electrode has been evaluated by its application in the determination of cadmium in real samples. The practical utility of the membrane electrode has also been observed in the presence of surfactants.  相似文献

For preparing a berberine-sensitive electrode, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis[2-(2,3,4,6-tetraacetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-1-O-phenyl]porphyrin (T(o-glu)PPH2) was synthesized from the reaction of pyrrole with ortho-acetylglycosylated benzaldehyde by Lindsay’s method. The electrode based on T(o-glu)PPH2 with an optimized membrane composition exhibits Nernstian response to berberine in the concentration range 2.4 × 10–7–5.0 × 10–3 mol L–1, with a pH range from 3.9 to 10.2, and a fast response time of 30 s. The electrode shows fair selectivity towards berberine with respect to common co-existing species. T(o-glu)PPH2 shows better potentiometric response characteristics comparing to chloro[5,10,15,20-tetrakis[2-(2,3,4,6-tetraacetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-1-O-phenyl]-porphinato]-manganese (MnT(o-glu)PPCl) and better selectivity towards berberine than tetraphenylporphyrin (TPPH2). The effect of the composition of the electrode membrane has been studied and the experimental conditions optimized. The contents of berberine in pharmaceutical tablets were determined by direct potentiometry and the results agreed with values obtained by the pharmacopoeia method. 13-Membered azothia- and azoxythiacrown ethers have been applied as ion carriers in ion-selective membrane electrodes. Their sensitivity and selectivity were studied towards alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal cations. It was found that membranes doped with the azoxythiacrown ether (A) show higher affinity towards Pb2+ than Cu2+ (log KCu,Pb pot = 1.7), whereas membranes with the azothiacrown ether (B) are more selective towards Cu2+ than Pb2+ (log KCu,Pb pot = -2.4). The discrimination of alkali and alkaline earth cations was found to be greater for B than for A. Electrodes with both ionophores suffered from strong interference by Ag+ and Hg2+. The relation between the carrier structure and electrode properties has been discussed.  相似文献

A new class of artificial ionophores has been rationally designed and synthesized linking to a tetrafunctionalized l-treitol spacer two rigid hydrophobic 3β-hydroxy-5α-23,24-bisnorcholanic units and two flexible hydrophilic oligo(ethylene glycol) chains. Among the four methods of the unit-subduced-cycle-index (USCI) approach, the subduced-cycle-index (SCI) method and the partial-cycle-index (PCI) method have been discussed by using adamantane of T d -symmetry as a probe for enumeration problems, where USCIs are derived on the basis of permutaion representations, coset representations (CRs) and marks. After the examination of the SCIs and PCIs, Pólya's theorem that is a standard method of chemical combinatorics has been derived from the USCI approach. As another approach, a new method called the characteristic-monomial (CM) method has been developed by virtue of charactereistic monomials (CMs). The CMs have been derived from Q-conjugacy representations and Q-conjugacy characters, which have been related to irreducible representations and irreducible characters of the standard repertoire of chemical group theory. The two approaches have been compared to discuss group-theoretical tools for chemical combinatorics on a common basis.  相似文献

Ion-selective electrodes with plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membranes containing 13-membered azothia- and azoxythiacrown ether complexes with silver, mercury or copper ions have been investigated. The potentiometric response towards various anions was studied. For membranes based on azothiacrown ether (B) complexes the following selectivity patterns were found:I- > SCN-, Br- > Cl- ClO4 - > salicylate, NO3 - (complex B with silver), I- > ClO4 - > SCN-, Br- > salicylate > Cl-, NO3 - (complex B with mercury) and SCN- > I- > Br- > ClO4 - > Cl- > salicylate > NO3 - (complex B with copper). For azoxythiacrown ether (A) only membranes containing its complex with mercury exhibited pronounced anion response and the selectivity pattern was similar to that observed for complex B with mercury. The two chromium chelates of Schiff bases, N-(acetoacetanilide)-1,2-diaminoethane (L1) and N,N′-bis(acetoacetanilide)-triethylenetetraammine (L2), have been synthesized and explored as neutral ionophores for preparing poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) based membrane sensors selective to Cr(III). The addition of lipophilic anion excluder (NaTPB) and various plasticizers viz. o-Nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE), dioctylpthalate (DOP), dibutylphthalate (DBP), tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate (TEHP), and benzyl acetate (BA) have found to improve the performance of the sensors. The best performance was obtained for the membrane sensor having a composition of L1:PVC:DBP:NaTPB in the ratio 5:150:250:3 (w/w). The sensor exhibits Nernstian response in the concentration range 8.9 × 10−8 to 1.0 × 10−1 M Cr3+ with limit of detection 5.6 × 10−8 M. The proposed sensor manifest advantages of relatively fast response (10 s) and good selectivity over some alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The selectivity behavior of the proposed electrode revealed a considerable improvement as compared to the best previously PVC-membrane electrode for chromium(III) ion. The potentiometric response of the proposed sensor was independent of pH of the test solution in the range of 2.0-7.0. The sensor has found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 20% (v/v) content of methanol, ethanol and acetonitrile and could be used for a period of 3 months. The proposed electrode was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of chromium ion with EDTA and in direct determination in different water and food samples.  相似文献

The feasibility of using Zr(IV)-porphyrins as novel ionophores for preparing anion-selective polymeric membrane electrodes is examined. Electrodes constructed using o-nitrophenyl octyl ether plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membranes containing Zr(IV)-octaethylporphyrin (OEP) dichloride (Zr(IV)[OEP]Cl2) or Zr(IV)-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) dichloride (Zr(IV)[TPP]Cl2) were found to exhibit enhanced potentiometric selectivity toward fluoride compared to electrodes based on a typical anion-exchanger (e.g. tridodecylmethylammonium chloride). At pH 5.5, the electrodes displayed the following selectivity sequences: ClO4 > SCN > I > F > NO3 > Br > NO2 > Cl and F > ClO4 > SCN > I > NO2 > NO3 > Br > Cl for membranes doped with Zr(IV)[OEP]Cl2) and Zr(IV)[TPP]Cl2, respectively. Both ionophores are shown to operate via a charged carrier mechanism, with 10 mol% of lipophilic tetraphenylborate derivative in the membrane phase required to achieve optimal selectivity. Electrodes prepared with both metalloporphyrin species display super-Nernstian response toward fluoride with slopes typically greater than −100 mV per decade. It is shown, via UV-VIS spectroscopy of the membrane phase, that this behavior occurs due to spontaneous formation of hydroxide ion bridged porphyrin dimers in the membrane in the presence of the lipophilic anionic additive. The dimers are easily converted to monomeric species upon increasing the concentration of fluoride in the sample solution. Decreasing the pH of sample buffer background solution (from pH 5.5 to pH 3) decreases the lower detection limit (DL) of the electrode response toward fluoride (by two-order of magnitude) and improves the electrodes’ selectivity.  相似文献

Crownophanes composed of 28-membered ring atoms having two hydroxy groups, two amide groups, and aromatic parts such as naphthalene rings and either pyridine or benzene ring, can bind anions with high affinity and selectivity. The anion-coordination ability of these species has been observed by 1H NMR techniques. As anion guest molecules, we selected some halides, dihydrogenphosphate and acetate ions. It has been found that amidocrownophanes, 3 and 4, can recognize anions in the order;H2PO 4 >F>CH3COO>Cl>>Br and I, while not only 1, 2, and 5 having no hydroxy group but also 6 having 27-membered ring have no ability for anion recognition under the same conditions. In order to exhibit the recognition ability for anion receptor, plural amide groups, hydroxy groups, and m-phenylene or 1,6-pyridyl rigid part play an important role in this macrocyclic system.  相似文献

We have synthesized two novel dendrimers (BG1 and BG2) consisting of a 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (cyclam, 1) core with appended four dimethoxybenzene and eight benzyl units (BG1) and twelve dimethoxybenzene and sixteen benzyl units (BG2). The absorption and luminescence spectra of these compounds and the changes taking place upon protonation and Zn2+ coordination of their cyclam core have been investigated in acetonitrile-dichloromethane 1:1 v/v solution. For comparison purposes, the absorption and luminescence spectra of 1,4,8,11-tetrabenzyl-cyclam (2), and dendrons BD1 and BD2, model compounds of the branches of BG1 and BG2 respectively, have also been studied. BD1, BD2, BG1, and BG2 exhibit the absorption and emission spectra of their 1,3-dimethoxybenzene unit, but in the two dendrimers the emission intensity is quenched by the cyclam amine groups and increases upon protonation and metal coordination. In order to test if these cyclam derivatives have an antitumour effect, we have studied their action on proliferation in the human neuroblastoma TS12 cell line. Screening experiments have shown that cell proliferation was (i) strongly reduced by the tetrabenzyl substituted cyclam 2, and (ii) unaffected by cyclam and the benzo dendrimers BG1 and BG2. Antitumour screening experiments have also been performed on the tetranaphthyl substituted cyclam 3 and the naphtho-dendrimer NG2, whose photophysical properties have been previously studied. Cell proliferation came out to be moderately reduced by 3, whereas dendrimer NG2 had no effect, similar to dendrimers BG1 and BG2.  相似文献

Two series of new liquid crystalline compounds containing a non-activated arylazoindolinobenzospiropyran, ABP-SPAB 1a-1e (series 1) and SPAP-ABPC 2a-2e (series 2), have been synthesized. These LC dyes were characterized by a differential scanning calorimetry polarizing optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and electro-optical measurements. All but one of the series 1 compounds examined exhibit monotropic second and/or third transition liquid crystal phases on cooling from the isotropic liquid. In particular, ABP-SPAB 1b shows a monotropic SmC phase, in addition to a SmA phase. In series 2, most of the compounds exhibit a monotropic nematic phase on cooling. SPAP-ABPC 2c forms an enantiotropic nematic phase and a monotropic SmA phase; 2e shows enantiotropic nematic and SmA phases.  相似文献
