The interaction between trivalent lanthanide ions and poly(1,4,7,10,13‐pentaoxacyclopentadecan‐2‐yl‐methyl methacrylate), PCR5, in aqueous solution and in the solid state have been studied. In aqueous solution, evidence of a weak interaction between the lanthanides and PCR5 comes from the small red shift of the Ce(III) emission spectra and the slight broadening of the Gd(III) EPR spectra. From the Tb(III) lifetimes in the presence of H2O and D2O the loss of one or two water coordinated molecules is confirmed when Tb(III) is bound to PCR5. An association constant of the order of 200 M?1 was obtained for a 1:1 (lanthanide:15‐crown‐5) complex from the shift of the polymer NMR signals induced by Tb(III). A similar association constant is obtained from the differences of the molar conductivity of Ce(III) solution at various concentrations in presence and absence of PCR5. When Tb(III) is adsorbed on PCR5 membranes, lifetime experiments in H2O and D2O confirm the loss of 5 or 6 water coordinated molecules indicating that in solid state the lanthanide(III)‐PCR5 interaction is stronger than in solution. The adsorption of Ce(III) in PCR5 membranes shows a Langmuir type isotherm, from which an equilibrium constant of 39 M?1 has been calculated. SEM shows that the membrane morphology is not much affected by lanthanide adsorption. Support for lanthanide ion–crown interactions comes from ab initio calculations on 15‐crown‐5/La(III) complex. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Complexation between (O ‐methyl)6‐2,6‐helic[6]arene and a series of tertiary ammonium salts was described. It was found that the macrocycle could form stable complexes with the tested aromatic and aliphatic tertiary ammonium salts, which were evidenced by 1H NMR spectra, ESI mass spectra, and DFT calculations. In particular, the binding and release process of the guests in the complexes could be efficiently controlled by acid/base or chloride ions, which represents the first acid/base‐ and chloride‐ion‐responsive host–guest systems based on macrocyclic arenes and protonated tertiary ammonium salts. Moreover, the first 2,6‐helic[6]arene‐based [2]rotaxane was also synthesized from the condensation between the host–guest complex and isocyanate.  相似文献

Methylated β‐cyclodextrin (Me‐β‐CD) was used to complex a free‐radical photoinitiator, 2‐hydroxy‐2‐methyl‐1‐phenylpropan‐1‐one ( 1 ), yielding the water‐soluble 1 : 1 host/guest complex 1 a . The structure of complex 1 a was verified by means of IR, UV/vis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The influence of Me‐β‐CD as the host on the photopolymerization kinetics of N‐isopropylacrylamide was studied. Compared to the photopolymerization carried out under nearly identical conditions but without cyclodextrin, an increase in the polymerization rate was registered in the presence of complex 1 a .  相似文献

Novel dual molecular‐ and ion‐recognition responsive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐co‐benzo‐12‐crown‐4‐acrylamide) (PNB12C4) linear copolymers with benzo‐12‐crown‐4 (B12C4) as both guest and host units are prepared. The copolymers exhibit highly selective sensitivities toward γ‐cyclodextrin (γ‐CD) and Na+. The presence of γ‐CD induces the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of PNB12C4 copolymer to shift to a higher value due to the formation of 1:1 γ‐CD/B12C4 host‐guest inclusion complexes, while Na+ causes a negative shift in LCST due to the formation of 2:1 “sandwich” B12C4/Na+ host‐guest complexes. Regardless of the complexation order, when γ‐CD and Na+ coexist with PNB12C4, competitive complexation actions of B12C4 as both guest and host units toward γ‐CD and Na+ finally form equilibrium 2:2:1 γ‐CD/B12C4/Na+ composite complexes, and the final LCST values of PNB12C4 copolymer reach almost the same level. The results provide valuable guidance for designing and applying PNB12C4‐based smart materials in various applications.

Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), an uncharged and water‐soluble macrocyclic host, binds protonated amino saccharides (D ‐glucosamine, D ‐galactosamine, D ‐mannosamine and 6‐amino‐6‐deoxy‐D ‐glucose) with excellent affinity (Ka=103 to 104 M ?1). The host–guest complexation was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and MALDI‐TOF mass spectral analyses. NMR analyses revealed that the amino saccharides, except D ‐mannosamine, are bound as α‐anomers within the CB[7] cavity. ITC analyses reveal that CB[7] has excellent affinity for binding amino saccharides in water. The maximum affinity was observed for D ‐galactosamine hydrochloride (Ka=1.6×104 M ?1). Such a strong affinity for any saccharide in water using a synthetic receptor is unprecedented, as is the supramolecular stabilization of an α‐anomer by the host.  相似文献

Two inclusion complexes of β‐cyclodextrin‐7‐hydroxycoumarin ( 1 ) and β‐cyclodextrin‐4‐hydroxycoumarin ( 2 ) were prepared and their crystal structures were investigated by single crystal X‐ray crystallography under cryogenic condition. Both structures consist of stacks of face‐to‐face cyclodextrin dimers arranged in brickwork‐like pattern along the crystallographic a‐axis. For complex 1 , each of the two dimeric β‐cyclodextrins includes one 7‐hydroxycoumarin molecule that penetrates deeply into the cyclodextrin dimer and locates its lactonering at the center of the dimer cavity. For complex 2 , each cyclodextrin dimer accommodates three 4‐hydroxycoumarin molecules. One of them is sandwiched between two units of the cyclodextrin dimer, the other two are shallowly included in the cavities of the dimeric cyclodextrins respectively and protrude their lactone rings from the primary end of the cyclodextrin. The substituent effects of guest molecules on inclusion geometry of various coumarin molecules in β‐cyclodextrin were examined.  相似文献

Summary: Host‐guest complexes of α‐cyclodextrin (α‐CD) and methylated β‐cyclodextrin (Me‐β‐CD) with diacrylates and dimethacrylates of butan‐1,4‐diol and hexan‐1,6‐diol at varying stoichiometries were studied. The complexes were analyzed by means of 1H NMR, two‐dimensional ROESY spectroscopy and Job's curves, which clearly revealed the discriminating influence of the two hosts towards complex formation. The corresponding polymers were obtained using a redox initiator system in water. Thermal analysis and IR measurements of the polymers provided evidence for the existence of a polyrotaxane architecture.

Crown ethers and their supramolecular derivatives are well‐known chelators and scavengers for a variety of cations, most notably heavier alkali and alkaline‐earth ions. Although they are widely used in synthetic chemistry, available crystal structures of uncoordinated and solvent‐free crown ethers regularly suffer from disorder. In this study, we present the X‐ray crystal structure analysis of well‐ordered solvent‐free crystals of dibenzo‐21‐crown‐7 (systematic name: dibenzo[b ,k ]‐1,4,7,10,13,16,19‐heptaoxacycloheneicosa‐2,11‐diene, C22H28O7). Because of the quality of the crystal and diffraction data, we have chosen invarioms, in addition to standard independent spherical atoms, for modelling and briefly discuss the different refinement results. The electrostatic potential, which is directly deducible from the invariom model, and the Hirshfeld surface are analysed and complemented with interaction‐energy computations to characterize intermolecular contacts. The boat‐like molecules stack along the a axis and are arranged as dimers of chains, which assemble as rows to form a three‐dimensional structure. Dispersive C—H…H—C and C—H…π interactions dominate, but nonclassical hydrogen bonds are present and reflect the overall rather weak electrostatic influence. A fingerprint plot of the Hirshfeld surface summarizes and visualizes the intermolecular interactions. The insight gained into the crystal structure of dibenzo‐21‐crown‐7 not only demonstrates the power of invariom refinement, Hirshfeld surface analysis and interaction‐energy computation, but also hints at favourable conditions for crystallizing solvent‐free crown ethers.  相似文献

This article describes the synthesis and characterization of two diacid monomers, each containing a benzo‐15‐crown‐5 subunit or its dipodal counterpart. Both novel monomers were reacted with technical aromatic diamines with Yamazaki's direct polyamidation method to render modified polyisophthalamides with high molecular weights containing side moieties of cyclic and acyclic ethylene oxide sequences. All the polymers were soluble in aprotic polar solvents and showed high glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 190–345 °C. The polymers with side crown ethers showed much higher glass‐transition temperatures than those with acyclic linear side ethylene oxide arms. The chemical composition, particularly with respect to the diamine and the open or closed character of the pendent ethylene oxide sequence, also affected other general properties such as the mechanical resistance, mechanical modulus, or water absorption. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three‐component framework of cucurbit[6]uril, 3‐(1‐methylimidazolium‐3‐yl)propane‐1‐sulfonate and boric acid has been constructed. The crystal structure reveals 1:2 host‐guest motif of cucurbit[6]uril and 3‐(1‐methyl‐imidazolium‐3‐yl)propane‐1‐sulfonate, demonstrating both cation binding of imidazolium moiety and anion binding of sulfonate moiety for the first time. Incorporation of dimeric boric acid facilitates the formation of metal‐free three‐dimensional framework.  相似文献

In the presence of cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), the CB[7] could react with palmatine, which served as a sensitive fluorescence probe, to form host‐guest stable complexes and the fluorescence intensity of the complexes was greatly enhanced. The fluorescence intensity decreased linearly with an increasing number of L‐cystine in the inclusion system. The experimental results show that there exists a competition between L‐cystine and palmatine for the CB[7] hydrophobic cavity and L‐cystine occupies the space of CB[7] cavity, leading palmatine molecules to be forced to reside in the aqueous environment. Based on the fluorescence quenching of the CB[7]/palmatine complexes resulting from complex formation between CB[7] and L‐cystine, a spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of L‐cystine in aqueous solution in the presence of CB[7] was developed. The linear relationship between the corresponding values of the fluorescence quenching ΔF and L‐cystine concentration was obtained in the range of 6.0 to 1.5×103 ng·mL?1, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9996. The detection limit was 2.0 ng·mL?1. The application of the present method to the determination of L‐cystine in tablets gave satisfactory results. This paper also discussed the mechanism of the fluorescence indicator probe.  相似文献

The effect of component contents and membrane thickness on the detection limit (DL), slope (m), linear range (LR) and response time (RT) of Pb2+ solid contact potentiometric ion selective electrodes (SCISE) based on 4,10‐diaza‐2,3,11,12‐dibenzo‐18‐crown‐6 (1), 4,10‐diaza‐2,3,11,12‐di(4‐tert‐butylbenzo)‐18‐crown‐6 (2) and 4,10‐diaza‐2,3,11,12‐dibenzo‐18‐crown‐6‐N,N′‐di(carboxymethyl) (3) as ionophores was studied by open circuit potential (OCP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The use of an intermediate layer of poly(3‐octyl)thiophene between the gold substrate and the selective membrane was explored. SCISE prepared showing the best responses had typical DL, m, LR and RT values of 10?6 M, 29 mV/dec, 10?5 to 10?3 M and 2 minutes.  相似文献

This paper reports the enzymatic polymerization of the inclusion complex 2,4‐dihydroxyphenyl‐4′‐hydroxybenzylketone/2,6‐dimethyl‐β‐cyclodextrin by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in aqueous media. The structure of the complex was determined by means of NOESY‐NMR and crystallographic analysis (indicating an orthorhombic structure). The enzymatic polymerization of the uncomplexed 2,4‐dihydroxyphenyl‐4′‐hydroxybenzylketone yields oligomers with molecular weights up to in organic‐aqueous media, but because of its poor solubility in aqueous systems, no polymerization is observed if water is used as solvent. An increase of the availability of the ketone in solution is achieved by complexing it with random‐methylated β‐cyclodextrin in water. We found that the use of methylated β‐cyclodextrin in equimolar concentration to the monomer increases the polymerization yield and the average molecular weight. The polymers formed were analyzed by GPC and ATR‐FTIR techniques.

Five bisbridged calix[6]crowns have been investigated as Cs+ ionophore in PVC membrane electrodes. As ionophores, three 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I–III ), 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐5‐ether( IV ), and 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐6‐ether( V ) have been evaluated. The membranes all give good Nernstian response in the concentration range from 1×10?7 to 1×10?1 M of cesium ion. The best detection limits (?log aequation/tex2gif-inf-1.gif=7.08–7.36) are obtained for electrode membranes containing 1,3‐bisbridged cofacial‐calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I‐III ), and the values are the lowest compared with those reported previously. The highest selectivity coefficients [ 3.74(Cs/K), 2.63(Cs/Rb)] are obtained for the membrane of 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ether( II ), and these values are also the highest compared with previous reports for Cs+‐ISEs. The highest selectivity towards cesium ion is attributed to the geometrically cofacial positions of two crown‐ethers in calix[6]crowns in order to provide the complex of cesium ion and eight oxygens of cofacial crowns.  相似文献

A novel achiral monomer end‐capped with a phenyl‐[1,3,4]oxadiazolyl group and threaded through β‐cyclodextrin was synthesized to investigate the host‐guest interactions in the inclusion complex. 1H NMR studies revealed that one or two cyclodextrin molecules were threaded onto the synthesized achiral monomer, leading to the formation of a fibrous construction of self‐assembled inclusion complexes. The formation of a self‐assembled inclusion complex was identified using SEM and TEM. The highly ordered alignment of self‐assembled supramolecules was confirmed using polarized optical microscopy. We demonstrate an easy process for the fabrication of nano‐structured self‐assembled inclusion complexes in pyridine/ethanol (1 mL/10 mL) as well as the enhancement of photo‐induced fluorescence via monomers end‐capped with a phenyl‐[1,3,4]oxadiazolyl moiety threaded with β‐cyclodextrins. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A representative series of diphosphine monophosphonium salts [1‐Ph2P(C10H6)‐8‐PRPh2]+X ( 2 b : R = H, X = CF3SO3; 4 : R = Me, X = CF3SO3; 5 : R = C6H5CH2 = Bn, X = Br) has been prepared by treatment of 1,8‐bis(diphenylphosphino)naphthalene (dppn, 1 ) with stoichiometric amounts of HSO3CF3 or CH3SO3CF3 in CH2Cl2 at +20 °C and with C6H5CH2Br in toluene at +80 °C. Their X‐ray crystal structures show that there is no evidence for dative P → P+ interactions. Instead, steric repulsion deflects the substituent groups to opposite faces of the naphthalene plane [splay angles: +11.4° ( 2 b ), +13.6° ( 4 ); +16.7° ( 5 )]. In solution 2 b , 4 , and 5 were dynamic according to 31P, 13C, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The fluxionality of 2 b involves rapid intramolecular proton exchange between the two phosphorus atoms, which slows down at low temperature, whereas the dynamic behaviour of 4 and 5 is interpreted in terms of hindered rotation of the bulky RPh2P+ groups (R = Me or Bn) about the P–C(naphthyl) bond. Treatment of 1,8‐bis(diphenylphosphoryl)naphthalene (dppnO2, 6 ) with HSO3CF3 gave the protonated bis(phosphine oxide), as the triflate salt, dppnO2H+ CF3SO3 ( 7 ). The X‐ray structure analysis of 7 revealed a highly strained molecule (P1…P2 365.5 pm) in which the P=O bonds point to the same face of the naphthalene plane to accommodate the proton. All isolated compounds were characterised by a combination of 31P, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy ( 7 ), mass spectrometry and elemental analysis.  相似文献

Colourless block‐shaped crystals of [(NH4)2(2.2.2‐cryptand)2][P2S8] ( 1 ) and [(NH4)2(18‐crown‐6)2][P2S8]·H2O ( 2 ) could be obtained by the reaction of an aqueous solution of ammonium hexathiohypodiphosphate, (NH4)4P2S6·2 H2O, with sulfur and 2.2.2‐cryptand or 18‐crown‐6. The crystal structures of both compounds have been determined by single‐crystal X‐Ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 2032.7(2), b = 1243.6(2), c = 2244.6(2) pm, β = 98.64(1)°, and Z = 8, whereas compound 2 crystallizes also monoclinic in the space group P21/c with a = 2121.3(2), b = 865.5(1), c = 2345.4(2) pm, β = 91.96(1)°, and Z = 4. It could be established that the title compounds contain a new type of six‐membered [1,2‐P2S4] ring with P – P bond and three S – S linkages. The tetrahedral environment of each phosphorus is completed by a (formally) single and double bonded sulfur atom attached externally to the [1,2‐P2S4] ring. These terminal PS2 units are mesomerically stabilized according to their P – S distances. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title compounds are recorded and interpreted.  相似文献

A new crown ether of 2,13‐dibenzothiazol‐2′‐yldibenzo[b,k]‐18‐crown‐6 was synthesized from 2,13‐diformyl‐ dibenzo[b,k]‐18‐crown‐6 with 2‐aminothiophenol. The binding behavior and the optical properties of the crown ether were examined through UV‐visible spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. When complexed with Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+ ions, it led to intramolecular charge transfer and caused the changes of the fluorescence spectra. The protonation of the crown ether was also studied.  相似文献
