本文研究了射影平坦Finsler空间的几何量及其几何性质。证明了射影平坦Finsler空间的Ricci曲率可完全由射影因子简洁地刻画出来。同时还证明了,在射影平坦Finsler空间中,平均Berwald曲率S=0意味着Ricci曲率Ric是二次齐次的。此外,给出了一个射影平坦Finsler空间成为常曲率空间或局部Minkowski空间的充分条件。  相似文献

The coefficient space is a kind of resolution of singularities of the universal flat deformation space for a given Galois representation of some local field. It parametrizes (in some sense) the finite flat models for the Galois representation. Conformal Killing vectors (CKVs) in static plane symmetric space–times were recently studied by Saifullah and Yazdan, who concluded by remarking that static plane symmetric space–times do not admit any proper CKV except in the case where these space–times are conformally flat. We present some non-conformally flat static plane symmetric space–time metrics admitting proper CKVs. For these space–times, we also investigate a special type of CKVs, known as inheriting CKVs.  相似文献

Recalling the construction of a flat surface from a Bratteli diagram, this paper considers the dynamics of the shift map on the space of all bi-infinite Bratteli diagrams as the renormalizing dynamics on a moduli space of flat surfaces of finite area. A criterion of unique ergodicity similar to that of Masur’s for flat surface holds: if there is a subsequence of the renormalizing dynamical system which has a good accumulation point, the translation flow or Bratteli–Vershik transformation is uniquely ergodic. The authors give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a generalized circle in a Weyl hypersurface to be generalized circle in the enveloping Weyl space. They then obtain the neccessary and sufficient conditions under which a generalized concircular transformation of one Weyl space onto another induces a generalized transformation oil its subspaces. Finally, it is shown that any totally geodesic or totally umbilical hypersurface of a generalized concircularly flat Weyl space is also generalized concircularly flat.  相似文献

In this paper, we study special cases of canonical almost geodesic mappings of the first type of affinely connected space?The basic equations of mappings in question are reduced to a closed system of Cauchy type in covariant derivatives, and the number of essential parameters in the general solution of this system is estimated. We give an example of such mappings from a flat space onto another flat space. The mappings constructed send straight lines of the first space into parabolas in the second space. These almost geodesic mappings of the first type do not belong to the classes of mappings of the second and third types.  相似文献

We introduce and study the notion of a distance type, on a Banach space, defined by a nested sequence of convex sets. Among other things, we show that there always exist distance types that are not types in the classical sense. Then, we recover the notion of the flat nested sequence of Milman and Milman and show that distance types defined by flat nested sequences coincide with the bidual types of Farmaki. These results are applied to show that a flat nested sequence of convex sets is Wijsman convergent to the intersection of their weak*-closures in bidual space.  相似文献

Given a compact connected oriented three manifold, equipped with a codimension one foliation, such that the Bott connection on the normal bundle is flat, a 2-form on the space parametrizing flat partial connections on it has been constructed. This form is closed. In the special case where the foliated three manifold is a surface bundle over the circle, this 2-form is identified with a certain 2-form on the parameter space for a class of paths in the representation space for the surface group. The 2-form, in question, on the parameter space for paths is constructed from the natural symplectic form on the representation space for a surface group.  相似文献

We study the Ribaucour transformation for flat Lagrangian submanifolds in complex flat space and complex projective space. As a consequence, we obtain a process to generate a new family of such submanifolds from a given one. Analytically, this provides a method to construct new solutions of the corresponding systems of PDEs from a given one. We also show that such transformation always comes with a permutability formula.  相似文献

We extend the notion of a flat chain with coefficients in a normed abelian group from Euclidean space to an arbitrary Banach space and prove a compactness result. We also remove the condition that a flat chain with arbitrary coefficients have finite mass in order for its support to exist. This research was part of the author’s Ph. In this paper, we study the moduli spaces of flat surfaces with cone singularities verifying the following property: there exists a union of disjoint geodesic tree on the surface such that the complement is a translation surface. Those spaces can be viewed as deformations of the moduli spaces of translation surfaces in the space of flat surfaces. We prove that such spaces are quotients of flat complex affine manifolds by a group acting properly discontinuously, and preserving a parallel volume form. Translation surfaces can be considered as a special case of flat surfaces with erasing forest, in this case, it turns out that our volume form coincides with the usual volume form (which are defined via the period mapping) up to a multiplicative constant. We also prove similar results for the moduli space of flat metric structures on the n-punctured sphere with prescribed cone angles up to homothety. When all the angles are smaller than 2π, it is known (cf. [T]) that this moduli space is a complex hyperbolic orbifold. In this particular case, we prove that our volume form induces a volume form which is equal to the complex hyperbolic volume form up to a multiplicative constant.  相似文献

We solve the problem of describing all nonlocal Hamiltonian operators of hydrodynamic type with flat metrics. This problem is equivalent to describing all flat submanifolds with flat normal bundle in a pseudo-Euclidean space. We prove that every such Hamiltonian operator (or the corresponding submanifold) specifies a pencil of compatible Poisson brackets, generates bihamiltonian integrable hierarchies of hydrodynamic type, and also defines a family of integrals in involution. We prove that there is a natural special class of such Hamiltonian operators (submanifolds) exactly described by the associativity equations of two-dimensional topological quantum field theory (the Witten-Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde and Dubrovin equations). We show that each N-dimensional Frobenius manifold can locally be represented by a special flat N-dimensional submanifold with flat normal bundle in a 2N-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space. This submanifold is uniquely determined up to motions.  相似文献

We characterize invariant projectively flat affine connections in terms of affine representations of Lie algebras, and show that a homogeneous space admits an invariant projectively flat affine connection if and only if it has an equivariant centro-affine immersion. We give a correspondence between semi-simple symmetric spaces with invariant projectively flat affine connections and central-simple Jordan algebras.

One of the most fundamental problems in the study of Lagrangian submanifolds from Riemannian geometric point of view is to classify Lagrangian immersions of real space forms into complex space forms. The main purpose of this paper is thus to classify flat Lagrangian surfaces in the Lorentzian complex plane C1^2. Our main result states that there are thirty-eight families of flat Lagrangian surfaces in C1^2. Conversely, every flat Lagrangian surface in C1^2 is locally congruent to one of the thirty-eight families.  相似文献

Geodesically complete affine manifolds are quotients of the Euclidean space through a properly discontinuous action of a subgroup of affine Euclidean transformations. An equivalent definition is that the tangent bundle of such a manifold admits a flat, symmetric and complete connection. If the completeness assumption is dropped, the manifold is not necessarily obtained as the quotient of the Euclidean space through a properly discontinuous group of affine transformations. In fact the universal cover may no longer be the Euclidean space. The main result of this paper states that if a flat connection of a bundle can be properly deformed into a metric connection then its Euler class vanishes. This is a partial result toward an old question of Chern.  相似文献
