We have performed a series of neutron diffraction experiments from the magnetic order and the vortex lattice in single crystal ErNi2B2C. The incommensurate magnetic structure develops additional even harmonics below the ‘ferromagnetic’ ordering temperature, T F of 2.3 K. This feature and the existence of rods of diffuse scattering suggest the development of ferromagnetic microdomain walls. The magnetic structure is very sensitive to the application of a magnetic field with changes in modulation vector and harmonic content. Studies of the vortex lattice show the presence of a 45° reorientation transition and a distorted hexagonal to square transition as a function of applied field. Further distortions of the vortex lattice occur at T N, but no changes are seen at T F.  相似文献

Stimulated scattering off electron plasma mode is investigated analytically for the case when the pump wave is an intense circularly polarised electromagnetic wave propagating parallel to a homogeneous dc magnetic field in an isotropic semiconductor-plasma. The threshold electric field of the pump necessary for the stimulated Raman scattering and the growth rate of the parametrically unstable mode have been obtained for two cases (i)B 0=0 and (ii) B0 ≠ 0. It is seen that the magnetic field does not significantly affect the threshold electric field as well as the growth rate provided the cyclotron frequency is small compared to the frequency of the pump wave. The threshold conditions are also found to be insensitive to the electron thermal velocity.  相似文献

This paper reports on measurements of probe noise and double probe characteristics in argon-low-pressure low-current discharges under the influence of a local transversal magnetic field. Above a critical value of magnetic field intensity Bc there are no moving striations but partially correlated fluctuations. The space distribution of probe noise (ion saturation current and floating potential) and the measured values of electron temperature and density are discussed. At Bc a characteristic value of electron temperature Te,c ≈ 1,4 eV independent of filling pressure has been found. A first opinion on the character of the fluctuations is given.  相似文献

A magnetic induction threshold B c above which the magnetoplastic effect — depinning of dislocations from paramagnetic pinning centers — can be observed in samples placed in a magnetic field is predicted and observed in Al, NaCl, and LiF crystals. The existence of a threshold is associated with the fact that for B<B c the spin-lattice relaxation time τsl in a dislocation-paramagnetic-center system is less than the time required for spin evolution in a magnetic field resulting in the removal of the spin forbiddenness of an electronic transition that “switches off” the dislocation-pinning-center interaction. It is shown that the threshold field B c is sensitive to temperature and x-ray irradiation of the samples. A new method for measuring the spin-lattice relaxation time in paramagnetic centers on dislocations is proposed on the basis of the data obtained. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Summary In 1939 Schmidt denied the presence of nonpotential geomagnetic field observed on the Earth’s surface, after stating that the nonvanishment of curl z B must be merely a consequence of remaining errors in geomagnetic observations. His paper was so influential that the discussion on nonpotential magnetic field disappeared ever since. The apparent nonvanishment of curl z B (calculated from the differences of observed magnetic-field values at neighbouring meshpoint stations) would be, however, more reasonably attributable to a possible small-scale inhomogeneity in underground magnetic susceptibility or/and electric conductivity, whose spatial wavelength is shorter than the distance between observation meshpoints. To speed up publication, the proofs were not sent to the authors and were supervised by the Scientific Committee.  相似文献

A procedure is proposed for precise scanning of the (B , B ) plane between the magnetic field projections that are perpendicular and parallel to (quasi-)two-dimensional layers when measuring their longitudinal and Hall magnetoresistances. Investigations of a n-In x Ga1−x As/GaAs double quantum well (x ≈ 0.2) performed using this procedure make it possible to reveal a number of the features of the magnetoresistance, which appear due to a complex energy spectrum of the double quantum well in a parallel field, and to separate them from the structures associated with the magnetic breakdown. The trajectories representing the features of the magnetoresistance in the (B , B ) plane are described by the semiclassical calculations of the quantization of the energy spectrum of the double quantum well under the action of the perpendicular field component. The structures appearing due to the magnetic breakdown are amplified with increasing the total magnetic field magnitude and, in the samples with low mobility, completely suppress the features caused by the motion of an electron with a constant pseudospin component. The peaks corresponding to the magnetic breakdown are split in a strong parallel field due to the spin splitting of the Landau levels. It is shown that the preliminary exposure of ZnO, triglycine sulfate, and potassium hydrogen phthalate crystals in ultralow crossed magnetic fields—Earth’s magnetic field and ac pump field—leads to a resonance change in their microhardness. The resonance frequency of microhardness peaks is determined by the classical condition of electron paramagnetic resonance only at certain orientations of the crystals with respect to the Earth’s magnetic field BEarth. Rotations of all samples with respect to the direction BEarth by angle θ reduce the resonance frequency in proportion to cosθ. The observed anisotropy has been attributed to the presence of their own local magnetic fields Bloc ? BEarth in the crystals.  相似文献

We describe a spectroscopic method which combines for the first time Doppler-free laser polarization spectroscopy with the magnetic rotation technique. This is achieved by the application of a modulating weak magnetic field to the overlap region of modulated pump and probe beam. By the double modulation, molecular levels with effectiveg-factors as low as 0.05 GmB can easily be detected and distinguished from diamagnetic levels. This is demonstrated for the molecule IBr where theB'0+ state is perturbed by a repulsive = 1 state which leads to increasingg-factors with increasing vibrational levels. With the normal polarization spectroscopy, several of these levels are not detectable within the manifold of overlapping lines from I2 and Br2 which are always present in this chemical system. We study thermal entanglement of XXZ Heisenberg chain under rectangle magnetic field. Under this magnetic field B, the region of thermal entanglement in terms of B and temperature T can be extended. Moreover, one can improve threshold temperature, where entanglement vanish, just by increasing the strength of magnetic field. This effect is similar to that of the anisotropic coupling of spin in XY plane but provide us a realizable method to improve threshold temperature.  相似文献

本文对比研究了超导材料磁测量中的SQUID法和Campbell法; 并用高压PIT法制备的超导材料MgB2作为测量样品,用两种方法,测量了超导样品的临界电流密度, 分别得到了样品的Jc-B关系曲线; SQUID法测量样品的外磁场可以达到6 T, 此时材料已经处于失超状态,此方法测得的结果是样品各个小区域结果的平均值, SQUID还可以用来进一步标度材料的钉扎力行为,研究材料磁特性. Campbell法测量只能测量到外磁场强度为0.4 T,外磁场的交流部分的频率可以达到800 Hz, 用这种测量方法得到的是整块样品的电流,由于测量计及材料内部微观结构缺陷等影响电流传输因素, 所测结果小于直流磁化法,但更切近材料实际电流,能用来深入研究材料内部结构差别对材料电性能的影响.  相似文献

Electrical transport of the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) is considered in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field(B) which is modulated weakly and periodically along one direction by −B0sin(Kx). The magnetoresistivity exhibits novel oscillations which: 1) are 90° shifted with respect to similar oscillations discovered for a 1D electrical periodic potential, and 2) their amplitude is an order of magnitude larger than for a corresponding electrical potential modulation with strength equal to .  相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance measurement have been performed for 185W oriented at 8 mK in an Fe host. The magnetic hyperfine splitting frequency at an external magnetic field of 0.1 T was determined to be 196.6(2) MHz. With the known hyperfine field of B hf = −71.4(18) T, the nuclear magnetic moment of 185W is deduced as μ(185W) = +0.543(14) μN.  相似文献

In order to eliminate the influence of the large-amplitude magnetic field noise that has complicated magnetocardio-graphic studies since October 2009, we have performed high-accuracy measurement of the environmental magnetic field noise in the vicinity of Beijing Subway Line 4 using a three-component height T c radio frequency (rf) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). By analysing the spatial form and other characteristics of the time and the frequency domains and by calculating the circumferential magnetic field distribution based on a duel-end feeding system model, we reach the following conclusions: (i) the main source of magnetic field noise is the magnetic field generated by the subway trains, and (ii) the magnetic field interference results mainly from the imbalance between traction current and return rail current that is caused by the leakage current.  相似文献

Resonance relaxation displacements of dislocations in NaCl crystals placed in crossed static and alternating ultralow magnetic fields in the electron paramagnetic resonance scheme are discussed. The Earth’s magnetic field BEarth ≈ 50μT and other fields in the range of 26–261 μT are used as the static field. New strongly anisotropic properties of the effect have been revealed. Frequency spectra including numerous peaks of paths at low pump frequencies beginning with 10 kHz, as well as the quartet of equidistant peaks at high frequencies (~1.4 MHz at B=BEarth), have been measured. The effect is also observed in the pulsed pump field with a resonance duration of ~0.5 μs. Resonance changes have been detected in the microhardness of ZnO, triglycine sulfate, and potassium hydrogen phthalate crystals after their exposure in the Earth’s magnetic field in the same electron paramagnetic resonance scheme.  相似文献

Following Pevtsov and Latushko, we study the current helicity pattern of the large-scale magnetic field on the photosphere. We use the same technique as theirs to derive the vector magnetic field (B r , B θ , B ϕ ) from full-disk longitudinal magnetograms based on the assumption that large-scale magnetic fields evolve rather slowly and the variations of the longitudinal magnetic fields within certain time duration are caused by the changing position angles only. Different from their study, we have calculated the current helicity maps directly from the derived vector magnetograms, rather than from obtaining the latitudinal variation of h c by ignoring the role of B θ component and averaging B r and B ϕ over all solar longitudes. This approach significantly strengthens the evidence of the hemispheric rule presented in the reconstructed vector magnetic field. Our study shows that the established hemispheric sign rule, that is, positive helicity sign in the southern hemisphere and negative helicity sign in the northern hemisphere, is applicable everywhere in the global magnetic field, namely, also evident in weak fields outside active regions, and that the obtained sign pattern is independent of the longitudinal magnetograms and the parameters that we have used.  相似文献

The critical current density J c is one of the most important parameters of high temperature superconducting films in superconducting applications,such as superconducting filter and superconducting Josephson devices.This paper presents a new model to describe inhomogeneous current distribution throughout the thickness of superconducting films applying magnetic field by solving the differential equation derived from Maxwell equation and the second London equation.Using this model,it accurately calculates the inductive third-harmonic voltage when the film applying magnetic field with the inductive measurement for J c.The theoretic curve is consistent with the experimental results about measuring superconducting film,especially when the third-harmonic voltage just exceeds zero.The J c value of superconducting films determined by the inductive method is also compared with results measured by four-probe transport method.The agreements between inductive method and transport method are very good.  相似文献

The dynamics of back cathode bombardment (BCB) instability in a magnetron diode (a coaxial diode in a magnetic field, BB 0zB 0) is numerically simulated. The quasi-stationary regime of electron leakage across the high magnetic field (B 0/B cr > 1.1, where B cr is the insulation critical field) is realized. An electron beam in the electrode gap is split into a series of bunches in the azimuthal direction and generates the electric field component E θ(r, θ, t), which accelerates some of the electrons. Having gained an extra energy, these electrons bombard the cathode, causing secondary electron emission. The rest of the electrons lose kinetic energy and move toward the anode. Instability is sustained if the primary emission from the cathode is low and the secondary emission coefficient k se=I se/I e, BCB is greater than unity. The results of numerical simulation are shown to agree well with experimental data. A physical model of back-bombardment instability is suggested. Collective oscillations of charged flows take place in the gap with crossed electric and magnetic fields (E × B field) when the electrons and E × B field exchange momentum and energy. The self-generation and self-organization of flows are due to secondary electron emission from the cathode.  相似文献

The thermal entanglement of a two-qutrit spin-1 anisotropic Heisenberg XXZ chain in an inhomogeneous magnetic field is studied in detail. The effects of the external magnetic field (B), a parameter b which controls the inhomogeneity of B, and the bilinear interaction parameters Jx=Jy≠Jz on the thermal variation of the negativity are studied in detail. It is found that negativity N decreases when the values of magnetic field, inhomogeneity b and temperature are increasing. In addition, N remains at higher temperatures for higher values of Jz and lower values of B and b.  相似文献

A microscopic theory of interplay of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism in rare earth ternary systems is developed from first principles for less than half filledf atomic shells. Self consistent equations for the superconducting order parameter Δ and magnetic order parameter Γ, are derived using a Green’s function technique and equation of motion method. The theory is applied to explain the experimental results in the antiferromagnetic superconductor SmRh4B4. The present model explains true coexistence of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism and the suppression of superconductivity by antiferromagnetism. The behaviour of superconducting order parameter (Δ), magnetic order parameter (Γ), the specific heat, the density of states, free energy and critical field (H c) is also studied for the system SmRh4B4.  相似文献
