诺贝尔化学奖与生物专业有机化学教材内容相关性分析

结合有机化学教材内容总结了有机化学领域的诺贝尔化学奖情况,分析了诺贝尔化学奖与有机化学及生物科学的关系,并介绍了在生物专业有机化学教学中引入诺贝尔化学奖的方法。将诺贝尔化学奖引入生物专业有机化学的教学实践有利于学生认识课程重要性,激发学习动力,提高综合素质和创新能力。     

“双一流”建设背景下化学拔尖班学生的国际化培养模式探索与实践

四川大学化学学院于2009年开始实施"化学拔尖学生培养试验计划",致力于培养化学领域领军人才。在化学学科入选教育部"双一流"学科建设的背景下,学院立足本专业特点、依托校院两级资源,从师资、课程、学生、办学等多方面构建拔尖学生国际化培养体系,做出了诸多尝试并取得了良好的成效。本文在对现有国际化建设策略讨论的基础上,进一步对加强拔尖学生全球胜任力进行思考、提出建议。     

An ideal teaching program of nuclear chemistry in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum

It is well known that several reports on the common educational problems of nuclear chemistry have been prepared by certain groups of experts from time to time. According to very important statements in these reports, nuclear chemistry and related courses generally do not take sufficient importance in undergraduate chemistry curricula and it was generally proposed that nuclear chemistry and related courses should be introduced into undergraduate chemistry curricula at universities worldwide. Starting from these statements, an ideal program in an undergraduate chemistry curriculum was proposed to be introduced into the undergraduate chemistry program at the Department of Chemistry, Ege University, in Izmir, Turkey during the regular updating of the chemistry curriculum. Thus, it has been believed that this Department of Chemistry has recently gained an ideal teaching program in the field of nuclear chemistry and its applications in scientific, industrial, and medical sectors. In this contribution, the details of this program will be discussed.     

计算化学实验的课程建设

With the fast development of theoretical chemistry methodologies and computer hardware and software technologies, computational chemistry has become more and more imperative in chemical science. Accordingly, we have initiated "Computational Chemistry Experiments" course based on "Introductory Computational Chemistry" course developed in the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University since 2013, to provide basic training and computational chemistry practices for undergraduate students. The popular quantum chemistry software Gaussian is used as the major tool in the course. We focus on the exploratory feature of computational chemistry, creating initial structures and optimizing geometries, to provide fundamental training for students to comprehend the difference of traditional experimental chemistry and modern computational chemistry. Systematic research training is offered to develop the creative thinking capacity of students in using computational chemistry methods in chemistry education and research.     

Analytical Chemistry in Spain: from the enlightenment period to the present age

The people, places, economic and political influences of importance in the history of chemistry in Spain have been reviewed from the early XVIII century until today with particular reference to Analytical Chemistry.

Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids (R.O.C.K.) A Service Project to Involve More than Chemistry Majors in a Chemistry Club

The Saint Francis College chemistry club has been invigorated through the use of a service oriented outreach program, Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids (R.O.C.K.). The R.O.C.K. program has been in operation for approximately two years and we have reached over 600 K–12 students through a number of outreach activities, both on and off campus. The focus of the R.O.C.K. program is to have the K–12 students actively involved in the presentation that are organized and run by the St. Francis College Chemistry Club members.

A Letter from the Editorial Board

It has been 15 years that the Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry, an international, academic Journal focusing on the publication of worldwide research in the field of natural gas chemistry, has been published. Five years ago, the Editorial Board of the Journal was reorganized and moved to the Dalian Institute of Chemistry Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Journal has concentrated on the reporting of fundamental research and development information in the field of natural gas     

Research on analytical chemistry in Brazil: an overview

An overview is presented of the beginnings, evolution and current status of research on analytical chemistry in Brazil. Among the various fields of chemistry two decades ago, Analytical Chemistry was considered one of the least developed in Brazil. In the last 15 years, however, research and development in this field have expanded considerably and today it is one of the most highly developed fields of Chemistry in Brazil. This paper offers a general overview of this evolution and some suggestions for possible routes for the future of analytical chemistry in Brazil.
