It is demonstrated that the dependence of Fermi’s energy on the magnetic field causes a set of the Shubnikov – de Haas (SDH) oscillation frequencies to change, and their relative contribution to the total longitudinal conductivity of layered crystals depends on whether the scattering of current carriers is isotropic or anisotropic. Owing to the topological transition in a strong magnetic field, Fermi’s surface (FS) is transformed from open into closed one and is compressed in the magnetic field direction. Therefore, in an ultraquantum limit, disregarding the Dingle factor, the longitudinal electrical conductivity of the layered crystal tends to zero as a reciprocal square of the magnetic field for the isotropic scattering and as a reciprocal cube of the magnetic field for the anisotropic scattering. All calculations are performed in the approximation of relaxation time considered to be constant versus the quantum numbers for the isotropic scattering and proportional to the longitudinal velocity of current carriers for the anisotropic scattering.  相似文献

The dependence of the resistance and the Hall field in a layered conductor with a quasi-two-dimensional electron energy spectrum of arbitrary shape on the magnitude and orientation of the magnetic field in relation to the layers is analyzed. It is found that when current flows perpendicular to the layers, the resistance of the specimen strongly depends on the angle ϑ between the normal and the vector of a strong magnetic field. The Kapitza law is shown to hold within a fairly broad range of magnetic fields in the plane of the layers, i.e., the resistance increases linearly with the magnetic field strength. The Hall field proves to be insensitive to the emergence of open sections of the Fermi surface, and the Hall constant in strong magnetic fields is the same for any orientation of the magnetic field and the current. The existence of a stripe-liquid phase in a layered nickelate, La(1.725)Sr(0.275)NiO(4), is demonstrated through neutron scattering measurements. We show that incommensurate magnetic fluctuations evolve continuously through the charge-ordering temperature, although an abrupt decrease in the effective damping energy is observed on cooling through the transition. The energy and momentum dependence of the magnetic scattering are parametrized with a damped-harmonic-oscillator model describing overdamped spin waves in the antiferromagnetic domains defined instantaneously by charge stripes.  相似文献

Studies of magnetization, magnetoresistance, and magnetic oscillations in semiconductor-multiferroics Eu(1-x)Ce(x)Mn2O5 (x = 0.2-0.25) (ECMO) at temperatures ranging from 5 to 350 K in magnetic fields up to 6 T are presented. It is shown that phase separation and charge carrier self-organization in the crystals give rise to a layered superstructure perpendicular to the c axis. An effect of magnetic field cycling on the superstructure, magnetization, and magnetoresistance is demonstrated. X-ray diffraction studies of ECMO demonstrating the effect of magnetic field on the superstructure are presented. The de Haas-van Alphen magnetization oscillations in high magnetic fields and the temperature-induced magnetic oscillations in a fixed magnetic field are observed at low temperatures. Below 10 K the quantum corrections to magnetization due to the weak charge carrier localization in 2D superlattice layers occur. It is shown that at all the temperatures the Eu(1-x)Ce(x)Mn2O5 magnetic state is dictated by superparamagnetism of isolated ferromagnetic domains.  相似文献

We analyze the effect of magnetic breakdown on the resistance of layered organic conductors with a multisheet Fermi surface consisting of a cylinder and two slightly corrugated planes along the projection of the momentum onto the normal to the layers. Analytic expressions are derived for the charge carrier distribution function, and the dependences of the interlayer and intralayer conductivities on the magnitude and orientation of the external magnetic field in the immediate vicinity of a topological phase transition are determined when the distance between the different sheets of the Fermi surface is quite small, but the topological structure of the Fermi surface is still intact.  相似文献

We compute the frequency and magnetic field dependencies of the reflectivity R(omega) in layered superconductors with two alternating intrinsic Josephson junctions with different critical current densities and quasiparticle conductivities for the electric field polarized along the c axis. The parameter alpha describing the electronic compressibility of the layers and the charge coupling of neighboring junctions was extracted for the SmLa1-xSr xCuO (4-delta) superconductor from two independent optical measurements, the fit of the loss function L(omega) at zero magnetic field and the magnetic field dependence of the peak positions in L(omega). The experiments are consistent with a free electron value for alpha.  相似文献

Thermoelectric effects are investigated theoretically in layered conductors with a quasi-two-dimensional electron energy spectrum of arbitrary type in a strong magnetic field. It is shown that, at temperatures sufficiently low for quantization of the orbital motion of charge carriers in a magnetic field to be required, there exist giant quantum oscillations of the thermoelectric field. Thermoelectric emf is studied as a f unction of the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to the layers; experimental investigation of this function allows one to determine the velocity distribution of conduction electrons on the Fermi surface.  相似文献

本文综述了近年来我们组利用电子散射结合相对论平均场模型对奇特核结构的研究。我们发展了相对论平均场框架下的磁电子散射方法,并用其研究一些中子晕及质子晕核的基态组态,例如,23O,17,19C和23Al。研究发现,原子核不同组态的弹性磁形状因子彼此差别很大。其次,我们发展了相对论平均场框架下的弹性库伦电子散射方法,并用该方法研究了奇特核的电荷分布。研究发现,丰质子核中扩展的电荷密度分布可以通过库伦电子散射来测量。这种方法还被进一步推广用于计算弹性宇称不守恒电子散射,研究了一些典型原子核的中子密度分布,例如,Ca同位素链,N=50同中子素链以及N=Z的双幻核。结果表明,宇称不守恒非对称度的振幅主要由质子和中子形状因子极小值之间的距离决定。这些结果为下一代电子-核对撞机上的电子散射实验提供了有用的参考。  相似文献

首先建立大尺度分层介质粗糙面散射的物理模型, 基于Stratton-Chu积分方程和Kirchhoff近似导出了粗糙面散射场的计算公式. 采用高斯随机粗糙面来模拟实际的分层介质粗糙面, 通过数值计算得到了正下视单站雷达接收到的后向散射回波. 理论推导了散射场强度与表面粗糙度之间的定量关系, 并从数值仿真的角度分析了表面和次表面的粗糙度对散射回波的影响, 给出了散射场随粗糙度变化的曲线. 最后考察了分层介质的电特性参数(介电常数和电导率)对分层粗糙面散射场的影响, 并对计算结果做出了分析.  相似文献

The element- and site-specificity of X-ray resonant magnetic scattering (XRMS) makes it an ideal tool for furthering our understanding of complex magnetic systems. In the hard X-rays, XRMS is readily applied to most antiferromagnets where the relatively weak resonant magnetic scattering (10−2–10−6 I c ) is separated in reciprocal space from the stronger, Bragg charge scattered intensity, I c . In ferro(ferri)magnetic materials, however, such separation does not occur and measurements of resonant magnetic scattering in the presence of strong charge scattering are quite challenging. We discuss the use of charge-magnetic interference resonant scattering for studies of ferromagnetic (FM) crystals and layered films. We review the challenges and opportunities afforded by this approach, particularly when using circularly polarized X-rays. We illustrate current capabilities at the Advanced Photon Source with studies aimed at probing site-specific magnetism in ferromagnetic crystals, and interfacial magnetism in films.  相似文献

The dynamics of magnetization in synthetic antiferromagnetic systems with the magnetic dipole coupling in a rapidly oscillating field has been examined. It has been revealed that the system can behave similar to the Kapitza pendulum. It has been shown that an alternating magnetic field can be efficiently used to control the magnetic state of a cell of a synthetic antiferromagnet. Analytical relations have been obtained between the parameters of such an antiferromagnet and an external magnetic field at which certain quasistationary states are implemented.  相似文献

The general theory given previously is applied to copper single crystals containing various kinds of point defects. The matrix elements of the scattering potential with Wannier functions, which determine the transition probability, are chosen such as to satisfy the charge neutrality condition (Friedel's sum rule) and to give a prescribed electrical resistivity in zero magnetic field. Numerical calculations are carried out for the Fermi surface due toShoenberg andRoaf. The computed Kohler and rotation diagrams for magnetoresistivity, transverse-even effect, and Hall effect at low temperatures are in satisfactory agreement with measurements. The influence of different anisotropic scattering mechanisms and of the anisotropic Fermi surface is discussed in terms of the Kohler diagrams and rotation diagrams.  相似文献

Magnetic analogues of the Kapitza pendulum have been implemented in systems formed by one or two compass arrows in an oscillating magnetic field. The complete state diagrams for the systems studied have been determined. We present a theoretical study of gap opening in the zeroth Landau level in gapped graphene as a result of pseudo-Zeeman interaction. The applied magnetic field couples with the valley pseudospin degree of freedom of the charge carriers leading to the pseudo-Zeeman interaction. To investigate its role in transport at the charge neutrality point (CNP), we study the integer quantum Hall effect in gapped graphene in an angular magnetic field in the presence of pseudo-Zeeman interaction. Analytical expressions are derived for the Hall conductivity using the Kubo-Greenwood formula. We also determine the longitudinal conductivity for elastic impurity scattering in the first Born approximation. We show that pseudo-Zeeman splitting leads to a minimum in the collisional conductivity at high magnetic fields and a zero plateau in the Hall conductivity. Evidence for activated transport at CNP is found from the temperature dependence of the collisional conductivity.  相似文献

Metallic singlet ground state systems have often anomalous elastic properties which result from the coupling of the phonons to the crystal field energy levels of the rare earth ions. It is shown that structural and magnetic phase transitions should occur in the same way in those systems. They are caused by a sufficiently strong electron-ion interaction. While the orbital part of this interaction is responsible for possible structural phase transitions, the spin dependent part is responsible for magnetic phase transitions. This is demonstrated in detail by considering as an example the aspherical Coulomb charge scattering and the isotropic exchange interaction. We calculate the sound velocity, the sound attenuation and the excitations in the presence of the aspherical Coulomb charge scattering. Furthermore we discuss the mutual coupling of structural and magnetic phase transitions. This includes a consideration of other types of coupling than aspherical Coulomb scattering and isotropic exchange.  相似文献

We report on the Compton scattering of photons from samples whose surface charge density distributions are changed by an external magnetic field. We performed a Compton scattering experiment known to be particularly sensitive to the behavior of the relatively slower moving outer electrons (valence electrons) involved in bonding in condensed matter. The external magnetic field was used to change the surface charge density distributions of Fe and p‐Si samples. Samples were located in the external magnetic field of intensity 215 G and in a direction which was perpendicular both to the current and surface of the samples bombarded by 59.5 keV γ‐photons emitted from an Am‐241 point source. Currents in the ranges 0–8.5 A and 0–300 µA were applied to the Fe and p‐Si samples, respectively. The Compton scattered photons at an angle of 100° were detected by an Si(Li) detector. It was observed that the counts acquired under the Compton peaks tended to decrease linearly with increasing current in a magnetic field. The results show that positive charge carriers behave like negative charge carriers and electrons are more effective than holes in the Compton scattering of γ‐rays. 用嵌入位错线法和重合位置点阵法构建含有小角度和大角度倾斜角的双晶氧化锌纳米结构.用非平衡分子动力学方法模拟双晶氧化锌在不同倾斜角度下的晶界能、卡皮查热阻,并研究了样本长度和温度对卡皮查热阻和热导率的影响.模拟结果表明,晶界能在小角度区域随倾斜角线性增加,而在大角度区域达到稳定,与卡皮查热阻的变化趋势一致.热导率随样本长度的增加而增加,卡皮查热阻表现出相反的趋势.然而随着温度的增加,热导率和卡皮查热阻都减小.通过比较含5.45°和38.94°晶界样本的声子态密度,发现声子光学支对热传导的影响不大,主要由声子声学支贡献,大角度晶界对声子散射作用更强,声学支波峰向低频率移动.  相似文献

The elastic scattering in an electromagnetic separator with, 1/r axially symmetric magnetic field prism is treated by consideration of three sections on the ion path. Also some observations on the charge – exchange scattering in a device of this kind are given. Two numerical examples show that 1/r prisms compare favourably with the usual homogeneous and nonhomogeneous field separators also from the point of view of scattering phenomena.  相似文献
