We study the double ionization of the atomic K-shell by a single photon in the relativistic energy domain. The differential and total cross sections of the process are calculated. It is shown that the ratio of the cross sections of double and single ionization increases with the photon energy, tending to the limit 0.34/Z 2, where Z is the atomic number or the nuclear charge. The formulas are found to be valid for Z≫1 and αZ≪1, where α=1/137 is the fine-structure constant. Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 114, 1537–1554 (November 1998)  相似文献

We study the annihilation of a fast positron and a K-electron resulting in the emission of a photon and a second K-electron. It is assumed that all electrons and positrons move in the Coulomb field of the nucleus and that the Coulomb parameter αZ is much less than unity (α=1/137 is the fine-structure constant and Z is the atomic number). The electron-electron interaction, which is responsible for the ejection of the electron by the atom, is taken into account in the first order of perturbation theory. We calculate the differential and total cross sections of the process and construct the ratio of the cross sections of double and single ionization as a function of the energy of the incident positron. Finally, we establish the high-energy limit of this ratio, equal to 0.34/Z 2. Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 113, 786–804 (March 1998)  相似文献

The electron loss and electron capture cross sections σ i,i+m and σ i,im for boron ions and atoms traveling at the velocities V=1.19 and 1.83 a.u. in H2, He, N2, Ne, Ar, and Xe are measured. The known experimental data on these cross sections at velocities near the cross-section maximum are analyzed. It is found that the electron loss cross sections can be described by a formula which was previously derived in the free-collision approximation and takes into account features of both the ions and the ambient atoms. As the nuclear charge Z t of the ambient atoms increases, the cross sections vary nonmonotonically, increasing on average as Zt t 1/2 . A formula based on the model of independent electrons is proposed for electron capture by ions with small values of the charge i. It describes the dependence of the electron capture cross section σ i,i−1 on the mean binding energy of an electron in an ion with the charge i−1. The total electron capture cross section σ i,i−1 is proportional to the number of vacancies in the unfilled electron shell nearest the nucleus. The cross sections i,i−1 exhibit substantially nonmonotonic variation with Z t, increasing on average as Z t 1/3 . Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 116, 1539–1550 (November 1999)  相似文献

The dinuclear system concept of complete fusion of nuclei has been applied to the analysis of superheavy elements synthesis. The optimal excitation energy of compound nuclei and production cross sections in the cold synthesis of heavy elements with charge Z=102–112 have been calculated. The possibility of synthesizing the element with magic number Z=114 in cold and hot fusion reactions has been considered.  相似文献

The cross sections for Z=10–19 with isotopes T_z=-3/2 to-5 in the 140A Me V~(40)Ca+~9Be projectile fragmentation reaction have been predicted. An empirical formula based on the correlation between the cross section and average binding energy of an isotope has been adopted to predict the cross section. The binding energies in the AME16,WS4,and the theoretical prediction by the spherical relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov theory have been used.Meanwhile, the fracs parametrization and the modified statistical abrasion-ablation model are also used to predict the cross sections for the proton-rich isotopes. The predicted cross sections for the T_z=-3 isotopes are close to 10~(-10)mb,which hopefully can be studied experimentally. In addition, based on the predicted cross sections,Z=14 is suggested to be a new magic number in the light proton-rich nuclei with T_z-3/2,for which the phenomenon is much more evident than it is from the average binding energy per nucleon.  相似文献

Projectile fragmentation of 238U in a lead target was investigated at a bombarding energy of 750 A MeV. Isotopic production cross sections of about 250 different projectile fragments in the element range Z= 30–53 were measured with the FRagment Separator (FRS). The magnetic selection and the kinematical analysis of the measured isotopes allowed to disentangle fission and fragmentation residues. The mass loss of these residues indicates a violent collision where a large amount of energy is dissipated. The position of the fragmentation corridor defined by the measured residues was used to determine an effective proton-evaporation barrier. Projectile (Z 1) and target (Z 2)K-vacancy production cross sections induced by 3.6-, 4.75-, and 5.9-MeV/amu238U ions in selected targets between C and U are reported. The cross sections are discussed within the context of the molecular model of inner-shell vacancy production in heavy-ion-atom collisions. The measured 1sσ and 2pσ excitation cross sections are compared with semiempirical formulas, and with the perturbed-stationary-states calculations of Betz et al. The dependence of these cross sections onZ u =Z1+Z 2 agrees well with the Betz calculations. However, the measured cross sections are factors of 2 to 4 (1sσ) and 4 to 5 (2pσ) larger than the theoretical values.  相似文献

Experimental results on the differential cross sections of 180° elastic electron scattering and the total cross section of electron scattering by cadmium atoms in the energy range 0–6 eV are reported for the first time. Distinct shape resonances with the (5s 25p)2 P 0 and 5s5p 2 configurations are revealed in the near-threshold range and at E≈4 eV. In the range 3.0–3.7 eV, the differential cross section exhibits extra singularities that are probably related to the d-wave shape resonance. The resonance contribution to the backscattering cross section near 4 eV is found to be about 20%.  相似文献

Projectile and targetK-shell ionization cross sections induced by 3.6-, 4.7-, and 5.9 MeV/u132Xe ions and 1.4-, 3.6-, 4.7-, and 5.9 MeV/u208Pb ions from the UNILAC in thin solid targets between C and U are measured. The cross sections are discussed in terms of the molecular model of innershell vacancy production in heavy ion-atom collisions. The sharing of 2p 1/2σ vacancies between theK shells of the two collision partners in these very heavy ion-atom collisions is found to deviate from the Meyerhof-Demkov formula forR≦10?2. The measured ionization cross sections are compared with theoretical calculations for 1sσ and 2p 1/2σ excitation cross sections. AZ UA=Z1+Z 2 dependence is found independent ofZ 1/Z 2. Outer-shell vacancy configurations measured in these close encounters are reported.  相似文献

We used CR39 plastic nuclear track detectors (C12H18O7) in combination with automatic track measurement techniques to determine total charge changing and partial cross sections for the production of fragments of chargeZ F =6 toZ F =15 in collisions of32S beam nuclei at energies of 0.7, 1.2 and 200 GeV/nucleon in targets H, C, CR39, CH2, Al, Cu, Ag and Pb. By application of factorization rules measured partial cross sections are separated into pure nuclear and electromagnetic components. Total and partial cross sections for electromagnetic dissociation are compared with theoretical models. The energy dependence of pure nuclear cross sections is investigated.  相似文献

The probabilities and the effective cross sections of collision-induced one-electron charge exchange between singly charged and four-charged heavy Xe, Cs, Ba, Pb, Bi, and U ions at energies E>0.1 keV/u are calculated by a method of multichannel normalization in the impact parameter representation. The cross sections are rather large with a maximum σm≈10−15 cm2 at relative energies E m ≈10–30 keV/u. For collision energies E<10 keV/u, the cross sections sharply decrease with growing resonance defect of the reaction. At high energies E>1 MeV/u, the charge exchange proceeds largely by the capture of inner shell electrons of the ionic targets. The charge exchange cross sections calculated for low-charged Xe, Cs, Ba, Pb, Bi, and U ions are compared with available theoretical and experimental data.  相似文献

We used CR39 plastic nuclear track detectors (C12H18O7) in combination with automatic track measurement to determine total charge changing and partial cross sections for the production of fragments of chargeZ=6 andZ=7 in collisions of16O beam nuclei at energies of 60 GeV/nucleon and 200 GeV/nucleon in targets H, C, CR39, CH2, Al, Cu, Ag and Pb. Total charge changing cross sections due to the process of electromagnetic dissociation are calculated based on a theoretical model and found to be consistent with total and partial electromagnetic dissociation cross sections derived from this experiment. The energy dependence of pure nuclear fragmentation is investigated.  相似文献

We report on an improved measurement of the mass of theZ 0 boson, its total width and its partial decay widths into hadrons and leptons, as well as the effective axial vector and vector couplings to charged leptons. These measurements are based on a data set of approximately 160 000 hadronicZ 0 decays and 18 000 decays into electrons, muons and taus, recorded by the OPAL experiment at centre of mass energies near the mass of theZ 0. The total width and the partial widths to visible final states, derived from the measured cross sections, are used to extract the invisible width. The effective couplings of theZ 0 to charged leptons are studied using measurements of the lepton pair cross sections and forward-backward asymmetries at the different centre of mass energy points of theZ 0 scan. The implications of our results in the context of the Standard Model are discussed. On leave from Research Institute for Computer Peripherals, Hangzhou, China  相似文献

The evaporation residue cross sections of synthesizing superheavy nuclei Z=119, 120 are calculated by different sets of master equations with different dynamical variables. Two methods basically predicted similar results that the 48Ca induced hot fusion can produce element 119 easier than produce 120, and the evaporation residue cross sections for 119 are detectable by current advanced techniques, while the evaporation residue cross sections are below 0.1 pb for producing element 120.  相似文献

The inclusive K+ meson production in photon–induced reactions in the near threshold and subthreshold energy regimes is analyzed with respect to the one–step (γNK + Y, Y=Λ,Σ) incoherent production processes on the basis of an appropriate new folding model, which takes properly into account the struck target nucleon removal energy and internal momentum distribution (nucleon spectral function), extracted from recent quasielastic electron scattering experiments and from many–body calculations with realistic models of the NN interaction. Simple parametrizations for the total and differential cross sections of the K+ production in photon–nucleon collisions are presented. Comparison of the model calculations of the K+ differential cross sections for the reaction γ+C12 in the threshold region with the existing experimental data is given, that displays the contributions to the K+ production at considered incident energies coming from the use of the single–particle part as well as high momentum and high removal energy part of the nucleon spectral function. Detailed predictions for the K+ total and differential cross sections from γH2, γC12 and γPb208 reactions at subthreshold and near threshold energies are provided. The influence of the uncertainties in the elementary K+ production cross sections on the K+ yield is explored. Received: 12 April 1999 / Revised version: 11 September 1999  相似文献

Double ionization and excitation ionization in Compton scattering for heliumlike ions in metastable states are investigated. The electron energy distribution for double ionization and the total cross sections for both processes are calculated. The calculations are carried out in the zeroth order of perturbation theory with respect to electron-electron interaction, using Coulomb wave functions as the first approximation. The resulting equations are valid only in the high-energy nonrelativistic range. It is assumed that Z≫1, but αZ≪1 (Z is the charge of the nucleus, and α is the fine-structure constant). Zh. éksp. The probabilities of the associated production of a Higgs boson with a Z boson by a charged lepton in the field of a plane electromagnetic wave of arbitrary intensity and in a constant crossed field are obtained. The behavior of the cross section of the process as a function of the particle energies and the external field intensity is investigated for various values of the Higgs boson mass. It is shown that there is a logarithmic increase in the photoproduction cross section at superhigh energies up to a value significantly exceeding the cross section of the reaction e ++e Z+H, which is presently regarded as the most probable channel for the production of Higgs bosons. Coulomb deexcitation differential cross sections of excited muonic hydrogen in collisions with the hydrogen atom are studied for the first time. In the fully quantum-mechanical close-coupling approach, both the differential cross sections for the nln′l′ transitions and l-averaged differential cross sections have been calculated for the initial exotic atom states with n = 2–6 at kinetic energies of E cm = 0.01–15 eV and for scattering angles of ϑcm = 0°–180°. The vacuum polarization shifts of the ns states are taken into account. The differential cross sections of the elastic and Stark scattering obtained in the same approach are also presented. The main features of the calculated differential cross sections are discussed, and a strong anisotropy of Coulomb deexcitation cross sections is predicted. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

Data on the cross sections for single-electron charge exchange and excitation in collisions of He+ ions with C5+, N6+, and O7+ ions in the He+ ion energy range of 0.2–3.0 MeV are obtained for the first time. The cross sections for the single-electron charge transfer into the singlet and triplet 1snl states of C4+, N5+, and O6+ (2≤n≤5) ions and for the 1s → 2p 0, ±1 electronic excitation of He+(1s) ions are calculated. The calculations were performed by solving close-coupling equations on the basis of ten two-electron quasi-molecular states.  相似文献
