New complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with new Schiff bases derived by the condensation of p-aminoacetophenoneoxime with 5-methoxysalicylaldehyde are synthesized. The compounds are characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra, electronic spectral data, and molar conductivity. The thermal stabilities of the compounds are also reported. The Schiff base acts as bidentate O,N-donor atoms, and their metal complexes are supposed to possess a tetrahedral geometry with respect to the central metal ion. The general formula of the 5-methoxysalicyliden-p-aminoacetophenoneoxime Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes is Co(L)2, Ni(L)2, Cu(L)2, and Zn(L)2.  相似文献

Methanobactin (Mb) from Methylosinus trichosporium OB3b is a member of a class of metal binding peptides identified in methanotrophic bacteria. Mb will selectively bind and reduce Cu(II) to Cu(I), and is thought to mediate the acquisition of the copper cofactor for the enzyme methane monooxygenase. These copper chelating properties of Mb make it potentially useful as a chelating agent for treatment of diseases where copper plays a role including Wilson’s disease, cancers, and neurodegenerative diseases. Utilizing traveling wave ion mobility-mass spectrometry (TWIMS), the competition for the Mb copper binding site from Ag(I), Pb(II), Co(II), Fe(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) has been determined by a series of metal ion titrations, pH titrations, and metal ion displacement titrations. The TWIMS analyses allowed for the explicit identification and quantification of all the individual Mb species present during the titrations and measured their collision cross-sections and collision-induced dissociation patterns. The results showed Ag(I) and Ni(II) could irreversibly bind to Mb and not be effectively displaced by Cu(I), whereas Ag(I) could also partially displace Cu(I) from the Mb complex. At pH ≈ 6.5, the Mb binding selectivity follows the order Ag(I)≈Cu(I)>Ni(II)≈Zn(II)>Co(II)>>Mn(II)≈Pb(II)>Fe(II), and at pH 7.5 to 10.4 the order is Ag(I)>Cu(I)>Ni(II)>Co(II)>Zn(II)>Mn(II)≈Pb(II)>Fe(II). Breakdown curves of the disulfide reduced Cu(I) and Ag(I) complexes showed a correlation existed between their relative stability and their compact folded structure indicated by their CCS. Fluorescence spectroscopy, which allowed the determination of the binding constant, compared well with the TWIMS analyses, with the exception of the Ni(II) complex.

1,3,5-Diazaphosphorinanes and 1,5,3,7-diazadiphosphacyclooctanes form complexes with Pt(II), Pd(II), Cu(I), and Ag(I) salts. Platinum and palladium are coordinated through phosphorous atoms. In the case of 1,3-diphenyl-5-p-toluidenomethyl-1,3,5-diazaphosphorinane complex formation with platinum and palladium is accompanied by formation of a new polydentate ligand, p-tolylbis-(1,3-di-p-tolyl-1,3,5-diazaphosphorinane-5-yl)methylamine, where the metal is also bonded to phosphorus atoms.DeceasedA. Summary DbPH, a quadridentate chelating agent, was studied as a solvent extraction reagent for Cu(II), Co(II), and Ni(II). In all cases 11 complexes were extracted; however for Cu(II) and Co(II) ion-paired species exist, while for Ni(II) only neutral complexes were extracted. In all cases an extraction efficiency of 35–60% was observed unlike the greater than 90% observed for similar mono-hydrazone derivatives. The steric hindrance probably present in the bis adduct prevented a more efficient extraction.

Summary Synthesis of MHNAMT [3-methyl-4-(2-hydroxy-1 naphthalideneamino)-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole] and its IR and NMR spectral data are reported. The high stability of the characteristically coloured chelates with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(IV) and Rh(III) has been made the basis for their efficient ascending TLC separations on silica gel G layers, when present together. Results of three different solvent systems are included to assess efficient resolution of the chelates.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 2,5-dichlorobenzoates were prepared and their compositions and solubilities in water at 295 K were determined. The IR spectra and X-ray diffractograms of the obtained complexes were recorded. The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were obtained as solids with a 1:2 molar ratio of metal to organic ligand and different degrees of hydration. When heated at a heating rate of 10 K min-1, the hydrated complexes lose some (Co, Zn) or all (Ni, Cu, Cd) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose to oxide MO (Co, Ni) or gaseous products (Cu, Zn, Cd). When heated at a heating rate of 5 K min-1, the complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) lose some (Ni) or all (Cu) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose directly to MO. Silica gel chemically bonded with aminothioamidoanthraquinone was synthesized and characterized. The metal sorption properties of modified silica were studied towards Pb(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cd(II). The determination of metal ions was carried out on FAAS. For batch method, the optimum pH ranges for Pb(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) extraction were ≥3 but for Ni(II) and Co(II) extraction were ≥4. The contact times to reach the equilibrium were less than 10 min. The adsorption isotherm fitted the Langmuir's model showed the maximum sorption capacities of 0.56, 0.30, 0.15, 0.12 and 0.067 mmol/g for Pb(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cd(II), respectively. In the flow system, a column packed modified silica at 20 mg for Pb(II) and Cu(II), 50 mg for Cd(II), 60 mg for Co(II), Ni(II) was studied at a flow rate of 4 and 2.5 mL/min for Ni(II). The sorbed metals were quantitatively eluted by 1% HNO3. No interference from Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl and SO42− at 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L was observed. The application of this modified silica gel to preconcentration of pond water, tap water and drinking water gave high accuracy and precision (%R.S.D. ≤ 9). The method detection limits were 22.5, 1.0, 2.9, 0.95, 1.1 μg/L for Pb(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cd(II), respectively.  相似文献

The complexes of 1,4-di(4-methylanilino)-anthraquinone (alizarin cyanin green) and 1-amino-2-bromo-4(2-sulpho-4-methylanilino)anthraquinone (alizarin pure blue B) with Fe(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been investigated and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, conductometric, electronic and infrared spectral studies. The values of logB * for the different complexes are determined. I. R. spectra of the ligands in the solid chelates indicate that the bonding sites in the chelates are the -imino-nitrogen and the oxygen of its neighbouring C=O group. The chelate formation leads to proton displacement.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chelates with3-phenyl-4-(p-methoxyphenylazo)-5-pyrazolone have been synthesized and were characterized by elemental and thermal analyses as well as by IR, UV-VIS, 1HNMR, conductometric and magnetic measurements. The first stage in the thermal decomposition process of these complexes shows the presence of water of hydration, the second denotes the removal of the coordinated water molecules. The final decomposition products were found to be the respective metal oxides. The data of the investigated complexes suggest octahedral geometry with respect to Co(II) 1:1, tetrahedral for Ni(II) 1:1and 2:3; square planar for Cu(II) 1:1 and 2:3; the complexes with no coordinated water molecules (2:3) Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes are tetrahedral. Two new Zn(II) and Co(II) compounds obtained by reactions of tetrafluoroborates of these metals with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic (trimesic) acid (H3Btc) and 1,3-bis(pyridyl)propane (Bpp) as an additional ligand were studied by X-ray diffraction. The formation of coordination polymers of various dimensionality, {[Zn4(Bpp)4(HBtc)3((Me)Btc)]{(Me)2HBtc} · 2H2O} n (I), 1D, and {[Co43-OH)2(Btc)2(H2O)8] · 4(H2O)} n (II), 2D (CIF files CCDC no. 1552167 (I), 1552168 (II)) was demonstrated. Since H3Btc is partially methylated during the reaction, in I, this acid is stabilized in three forms: HBtc2–, (Me)Btc2–, and (Me)2HBtc. The tetrahedral Zn(II) coordination polyhedron is formed by the N2O2 set of donor atoms: the O atoms belong to two different carboxylate ligands, HBtc2– and (Me)Btc2–, while the N atoms belong to two Bpp ligands. In II, the Bpp ligand is not incorporated in the complex and H3Btc is coordinated to five metal atoms as a triply deprotonated ligand. Two carboxyl groups are coordinated to Co atoms as bidentate bridging ligands, while the third group is monodentate. The octahedral coordination polyhedra of Co(II) atoms in II are supplemented by terminal water molecules and μ3-bridging OH groups.  相似文献

A partial least squares (PLS-1) calibration model based on kinetic—spectrophotometric measurement, for the simultaneous determination of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) ions is described. The method was based on the difference in the rate of the reaction between Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions with 1-(2-pyridylazo)2-naphthol in a pH 5.8 buffer solution and in micellar media at 25°C. The absorption kinetic profiles of the solutions were monitored by measuring the absorbance at 570 nm at 2 s intervals during the time range of 0–10 min after initiation of the reaction. The experimental calibration matrix for the partial least squares (PLS-1) model was designed with 30 samples. The cross-validation method was used for selecting the number of factors. The results showed that simultaneous determination could be performed in the range 0.1-2 μg mL−1 for each cation. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) ions in water and in synthetic alloy samples.   相似文献

The 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) orotates were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, spectral methods (UV-vis and FTIR) and thermal analysis techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions in diaquabis(1,10-phenanthroline)metal(II) diorotate octahedral complexes [M(H2O)2(phen)2](H2Or)2·nH2O (M=Co(II), n=2.25; Ni(II), n=3; Cu(II) and Cd(II), n=2) are coordinated by two aqua ligands and two moles of phen molecules as chelating ligands through their two nitrogen atoms. The monoanionic orotate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. On the basis of the first DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows the order: Cd(II), 68°C 68°C  相似文献

A series of new 3d metal complexes based on dimethyl pyridin-2-ylcarbamoylphosphoramidate (HL) was synthesized. The compounds with general formula M(HL)2Cl2·nH2O and M(L)2·nH2O (M=Co2+, Cu2+, Ni2+) were characterized by means of single-crystal X-ray analysis and IR spectroscopy. The organic ligands in all complexes are coordinated via oxygen atom of the carbonyl group and nitrogen atom of the heterocycle. The coordination environment of the central atoms is a distorted octahedron. The axial positions in the Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes with deprotonated ligands are occupied by water molecules. The Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes with phosphoryl ligands in a neutral form have different ligands in the axial positions: in the Co(II) complex, the positions are occupied by two water molecules, whereas in the Cu(II) complex, the positions are occupied by two chlorine anions. The structure of HL was experimentally and theoretically obtained by utilizing single-crystal X-ray analysis and DFT calculations. The computationally optimized geometric parameters for HL show a good agreement with the experimental results.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc atoms in bis(1,10-phenanthroline)bis(salicylato-O)metal(II) monomeric octahedral complexes [M(Hsal)2(phen)2nH2O, (M: Co(II), n=1; Cu(II), n=1.5 and Ni(II), Zn(II), n=2) are coordinated by the salicylato monoanion (Hsal) through the carboxyl oxygen in a monodentate fashion and by the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) molecule through the two amine nitrogen atoms in a bidentate chelating manner. On the basis of the DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows order: Ni(II) (149°C)>Co(II) (134°C)>Zn(II) (132°C)>Cu(II) (68°C) in static air atmosphere. In the second stage, the pyrolysis of the anhydrous complexes takes place. The third stage of decomposition is associated with a strong exothermic oxidation process (DTA curves: 410, 453, 500 and 450°C for the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes, respectively). The final decomposition products, namely CoO, NiO, CuO and ZnO, were identified by IR spectroscopy. New metal complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with salicylidine-2-aminobenzimidazole (SABI) are synthesized and their physicochemical properties are investigated using elemental and thermal analyses, IR, conductometric, solid reflectance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The base reacts with these metal ions to give 1:1 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in cases of Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions; and 1:2 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in case of Ni(II) ion. The conductance data reveal that Fe(III) complex is 2:1 electrolyte, Co(II) is 1:2 electrolyte, Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes while Ni(II) is non-electrolyte. IR spectra showed that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate mannar with O, N, N donor sites of the phenloic -OH, azomethine -N and benzimidazole -N3. Magnetic and solid reflectance spectra are used to infer the coordinating capacity of the ligand and the geometrical structure of these complexes. The thermal decomposition of the complexes is studied and indicates that not only the coordinated and/or crystallization water is lost but also that the decomposition of the ligand from the complexes is necessary to interpret the successive mass loss. Different thermodynamic activation parameters are also reported, using Coats-Redfern method. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

This paper presents examples of mixed-ligand Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II) complexes, with a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, with 2,2′-dipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline and phosphortriamide ligands. The complexes of the general type ML2·Lig (where M = Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II); L = {Cl3C(O)NP(O)R2} (R = NHBz, NHCH2CHCH2, NEt2); Lig = 2,2′-dipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesised and characterised by means of X-ray diffraction, IR and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The phosphortriamide ligands are coordinated via oxygen atoms of phosphoryl and carbonyl groups involved in six-membered metal cycles. The additional ligands 2,2′-dipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline are coordinated to the central atom, forming five-membered cycles.  相似文献
