As the light source of the coherent Doppler LIDAR, a single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) with narrow linewidth and high frequency stability are typically required as the seed laser of the injection locking systems. Many scholars make point on the research about SLM selection in laser diode pumped all solid states lasers on theoretically and experimentally. In this paper, we will introduce and discuss the SLM selection work on 2 μm SLM lasers. SLM selection methods mainly include micro-cavity, double cavities, ring laser, inserting F-P etalons into the cavity, inserting birefringent filter into the cavity and so on. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods will be generalized and discussed.  相似文献

We propose a versatile arrangement for the trapping and manipulation of single atoms in optical tweezers formed by the direct image of a spatial light modulator (SLM). The scheme incorporates a high numerical aperture microscope to map the intensity distribution of a SLM onto a cloud of cold atoms. The regions of high intensity act as optical dipole-force traps. With a SLM fast enough to modify the trapping potential in real time, this technique is well suited for the controlled addressing and manipulation of arbitrarily selected atoms.  相似文献

This paper investigates the performance of hybrid radio frequency/millimeter wave (RF/mmWave) satellite–terrestrial relay network with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme. In particular, the satellite network operates at the Ka-band while the mmWave band is adopted at decode-and-forward (DF) relay–destination link. The blockage effect in mmWave communication is considered to deduce the ordered probability density function (PDF) of the user equipment (UE) distance. However, the randomness of the UEs’ location and the random beamforming design cause the difficulty of the performance analysis. Herein, we provide a closed-form approximation for the outage probability. Moreover, the system diversity order is derived from the asymptotic expressions of the outage probability at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) slopes. Besides, approximate ergodic capacity performances of the multi-UEs are evaluated with numerical integration. Simulations are applied to demonstrate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and show that the performance of the ordered selection NOMA scheme outperforms the orthogonal multiple access scheme and random selection scheme.  相似文献

A tunable single-longitudinal-mode(SLM) semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA)-based fiber laser based on a dispersion-shifted fiber(DSF) is proposed and successfully demonstrated. SLM operation is obtained due to the spectral narrowing effect resulting from inverse four-wave mixing in a DSF. A tunable optical filter performs wavelength selection function. By inserting a length of DSF in the laser cavity, SLM lasing can possibly be obtained when laser oscillation is stably established after traveling through the DSF many roundtrips. Stable tunable SLM oscillation with a signal-to-noise ratio as high as 65 dB over a wavelength range of about 35 nm is achieved experimentally, and each spectral linewidth is less than 6.5 kHz.  相似文献

In this demonstration, we propose and experimentally investigate a wavelength-selection erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser in single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) by using simple fiber ring scheme design. We use a tunable bandpass filter (TBF) inside the gain cavity to restrict the lasing frequency. The proposed ring cavities can also serve as the mode filters for side mode suppression. Based on the simple ring cavity design, the mode hopping can be avoided to achieve SLM output. The TBF inside the laser scheme also obtains the wavelength tuning in the range of 1520.02 to 1562.02 nm. In addition, the output performance of the proposed fiber laser has also been discussed.  相似文献

提出了产生三光学势阱的新方案, 在该方案中用液晶空间光调制器制作相位型闪耀光栅, 单色相干光照明, 产生按等边三角形分布的三个光学势阱, 三个光阱光强大小分布相同, 调节空间光调制器的相位分布, 可以改变光阱的相对位置, 实现三光阱到单个光阱、两光阱合并为一个光阱等演变及其反向演变, 调节过程简单、方便. 根据现有空间光调制器性能和尺寸, 模拟设计光栅, 计算三光阱的光强分布和调控过程中光强的变化, 结果表明: 用一般功率的激光照明, 能够得到具有较大峰值光强和较高光强梯度的可调三光阱, 在原子和分子光学实验研究中有多种重要的应用. 关键词: 原子和分子光学 可调三光学势阱 空间光调制器  相似文献

In this paper, we experimentally investigate a single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) S-band erbiumdoped fiber (EDF) laser with dualring scheme using a S-band fiber Bragg grating (FBG) inside the gain cavity to restrict the lasing mode. The proposed laser is constructed by two-ring cavities serving as the mode filters. The FBG inside the proposed laser scheme can retrieve the SLM operation. A selection problem that appears in the Lifshitz-Slyozov (LS) theory of Ostwald ripening is reexamined. The problem concerns selection of a self-similar distribution function (DF) of the minority domains with respect to their sizes from a whole one-parameter family of solutions. A strong selection rule is found via an account of fluctuations. Fluctuations produce an infinite tail in the DF and drive the DF towards the "limiting solution" of LS or its analogs for other growth mechanisms.  相似文献

The structure of a starlike molecule (SLM) fluid with four arms of different length is studied by applying the associative Percus–Yevick integral equation (IE) theory and canonical Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. In the IE study the SLM fluid is modelled by a fluid of hard spheres with four associative sites on each sphere while the MC has been performed for a freely-joined tangent hard sphere fluid. The total radial distribution functions have been calculated in both approaches for different volume fraction regimes and different arm lengths. It is shown that the associative IE theory predicts the structure of SLM fluid best for relatively long arms and at high densities. Additionally, the dependence of the SLM centre–centre correlations on the functionality and fluid particle density has been analysed using the MC results.  相似文献

We present a stable linear-cavity single longitudinal mode (SLM) erbium-doped silica fiber laser. It consists of four fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) directly written in a section of photosensitive erbium-doped fiber (EDF) to form an asymmetric three-cavity structure. The stable SLM operation at a wavelength of 1545.112 nm with a 3-dB bandwidth of 0.012 nm and an optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) of about 60 dB is verified experimentally. Under laboratory conditions, the performance of a power fluctuation of less than 0.05 dB observed from the power meter for 6 h and a wavelength variation of less than 0.01 nm obtained from the optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) for about 1.5 h are demonstrated. The gain fiber length is no longer limited to only several centimeters for SLM operation because of the excellent mode-selecting ability of the asymmetric three-cavity structure. The proposed scheme provides a simple and cost-effective approach to realizing a stable SLM fiber laser.  相似文献
