A Novel UWB Antenna with Small Side-Leakage   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A successful design for a UWB (ultra-wideband antennas) antenna based on NRD-guide (nonradiative dielectric waveguide) with small side-leakage is presented. The rule of the theoretical selection of its parameters, if NRD-guide is used as the UWB antennas, is studied firstly, then the temporal propagation characteristics of the NRD-guide and the radiation characteristics for an tapered open-ended NRD-guide are calculated by FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) method.  相似文献

A practical design of nonradiative dielectric (NRD) waveguide directional couplers is presented. The dispersion characteristics of coupled NRD-guides and the scattering coefficients of NRD-guide directional couplers are studied as well as the transitions from metal rectangular wave-guide to NRD-guide couplers. Experiments of 3-dB and 10-dB NRD-guide couplers in ka-band show that the couplers are of good performance and promise in millimeter-wave integrated circuits.  相似文献

The operating theory,design method and experimental results of the nonradiative dielectric waveguide (NRD-guide) transmitting front-end in millimeter wave band are related in details in this paper. As a kind of dielectric waveguide,the NRD-guide possesses fine transmission performances, and it can be used to fabricate the millimeter wave hyterodyne integrated circuits. The two kinds NRD-guide transmitting front-ends substantiated in the paper, the voltage controlling oscillator(VCO) and twin-Gunn-diode power-combiner,have very similar structures to each other and possess compact sizes, fine machinery and electric performances.For the VCO front-end in Ka-band, the frequency modulation band is greater than 150MHz, the output power is larger than 20mW.For the power-combiner, the output power is larger than 40mW,the combination efficiency is better than 90%,the frequency stabilization reaches 1.68×10–5. Combined with the receiving front-end reported before,the transmitter and receiver can be composed to a dielectric waveguide R/T module to be applied in some millimeter wave sub-systems.  相似文献

The analysis methods for the steady-state responses of the mm-wave band NRD-guide negative impedance oscillators based on nonlinear microwave autonomous circuits harmonic balanced method are presented in the paper in details. Firstly, the large-signal nonlinear lumped equivalent circuits of the Gunn diode are studied in mm-wave bands. Then, the performances of two kinds of NRD-guide autonomous circuits, the probe-exciting LSM 11 o-mode oscillator and the LSE 11 o-mode oscillator, are analyzed by the way of extracting the large-signal dynamic harmonic admittance (conductance) of the Gunn diode or directly configuring the harmonic balance equations for the oscillator. The input impedance of the exciting probe in the oscillator and the performances of the load-pulling and the local stability of the NRD-guide oscillator are also involved.  相似文献

The periodic and quasi-periodic steady states of the nonradiative dielectric waveguide (NRD-guide) crossbar single-balanced mixer excited by single tone or dual tones in mm-wave band are deeply researched in the paper. Based on the wideband dispersion characteristics, the mode self-contained property and the modes orthogonality and a series of modes excitation criterions of the NRD-guide, a novel mixer is designed and analyzed. Two important parameters, the local oscillator and incident wave inductive electromotive forces corresponding to the LSE/LSM mode-converter and LSM-mode probe respectively, are calculated firstly by using the wire-antenna theory and the moment method. According to the theorem of band-pass signal sampling, a kind of integrated and general quasi-periodical steady-state responses algorithm for the nonlinear microwave/mm-wave circuits excited by multiple tones, the inter-modulation balance method based on the multi-dimension discrete Fourier transformation (MDFT-IMB), is designed and then successfully applied to calculate the performances of the above NRD-guide mixer.  相似文献

We obtain an approximating formula for the low-energy impedance of a two-layer cylindrical waveguide, which allows constructing explicit expressions for the space-time functions that characterize the radiation of a charged particle in a waveguide. The general laws of the evolution of impedance and wake potentials with increasing particle energy and with the change of geometric and electrodynamical parameters of the waveguide are obtained. The settings of waveguides convenient for experimental research and having resonance properties at energies of about 20 MeV are revealed.  相似文献

 优化设计了一种220 GHz的折叠波导慢波结构的尺寸,对其冷测特性如色散、耦合阻抗和衰减进行了分析。理论分析和软件仿真结果表明设计的折叠波导慢波结构在中心频率处具有较平缓的色散关系,较高的耦合阻抗和较低的电路衰减。互作用模拟表明,在电子注电压为20 kV,电流为10 mA时,27 mm(50个周期)的折叠波导慢波结构在220 GHz具有14.5 dB的增益,3 dB带宽为16.3 GHz(211.9~228.2 GHz)。  相似文献

A coupled-mode formulation for an NRD-guide coupler is presented using the singular perturbation technique. The first-order and second-order perturbations are taken into account in the analysis and the coupled-mode equations based on the eigenmodes of each waveguide in isolation are derived. The propagation constants obtained by these equations are compared with those by the exact theory, conventional coupled-mode theory, and improved coupled-mode theory. The numerical results of present formulation are in good agreement with the exact theory and superior to those of the other formulations.  相似文献

对一种全金属慢波系统—–正弦波导的高频特性进行了理论分析.在用一系列相连矩形阶梯逼近余弦槽的基础上,对慢波结构进行了合理的区域划分,获得了各区域的场表达式.考虑槽区的高次驻波项,采用场匹配和导纳匹配相结合的方法,导出色散方程和耦合阻抗表达式.以应用于220 GHz行波管的正弦波导为例进行高频特性的数值求解,理论计算值与全三维电磁软件CST-MWS的仿真值符合良好.在此基础上,详细分析了尺寸参数变化对正弦波导高频特性的影响.  相似文献

Diffraction of a plane sound wave by the open end of an impedance-wall waveguide connected to an opening in an impedance screen is considered. The plane wave is incident on the waveguide from a free half-space. Two versions of the problem are considered: for a semi-infinite waveguide and for a finite-length waveguide with a specified bottom impedance; the impedances of the walls, screen, and waveguide bottom can be different. The finite-length waveguide can be treated as an open cavity in the impedance screen. For the cavity of zero length, the problem is reduced to the diffraction by an impedance insert in the impedance screen. The solution in the external region determines the scattered field; the solution in the internal region allows one to determine the directional pattern of an array of receivers located in the cavity. The problem is solved using the integral Helmholtz equation with a specially selected Green’s function that provides the fulfillment of the boundary conditions. Formally, the problem is reduced to an infinite system of algebraic equations. The computational results obtained for bistatic and monostatic scattering patterns are presented.  相似文献

Expressions for calculating the directional characteristics of an array of sound receivers positioned in a waveguide with impedance walls are obtained from the solution to the problem on the diffraction of a plane sound wave by the waveguide open end with impedance flanges. The waveguide can be of a finite length, and, in this case, it can be considered as an open cavity in an impedance screen. The solution of the integral equation for the sound pressure distribution over the opening area is reduced to the solution of an infinite system of algebraic equations for the coefficients of the field expansion in normal waveguide waves. Examples of calculated directional characteristics are presented for arrays with receivers positioned at different distances from the opening and for different values of the impedances of the waveguide walls and flanges.  相似文献

A new type millimeter-wave receiving frond-end using NRD-guide as internal transmission line is presented in this paper. The receiving frond-end consists of a NRD-guide crossbar balanced mixer, a NRD-guide LSE mode local oscillator and two impedance-converters at two input ports of the mixer circuit. Firstly, the propagation characteristics of some transmission modes often used in NRD-guide are given, and the conditions which these modes are applied as the operating modes are discussed. Secondly, the principle of the balanced mixed which is regarded as the key circuit unit in the receiving frond-end is analysed by using vector Green's function, and the conversion loss of the mixer is computed with an equivalent circuit in Ka-band. And then, from the view of obtaining the optimum performances of the whole receiving frond-end, some methods of designing local oscillator are expound. Some experimental results of the receiving frond-end at Kaband are given in the paper lastly. Because the frond-end have the impedance matching and converting circuits, it possesses better electrical performance. The integrated frond-end which have compact size and excellent shock strength is suitable for varied millimeter-wave system.  相似文献

We report results from measurements of a scale mixer model, built to investigate the embedding impedance presented to a superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS) tunnel junction detector in a full height waveguide with two tuning elements. The embedding impedance is measured as a function of junction position across the waveguide channel. The results are compared to i) computer simulations of the embedding impedance using waveguide theory, ii) a lumped element circuit derived from the theory, iii) an SIS receiver operating between 200 and 280 GHz.  相似文献

The Helmholtz equation solutions corresponding to multiple roots of the dispersion equation are considered for a waveguide with impedance walls. It is shown that in this case the eigenfunctions are determined by expressions that cannot be obtained by the separation of variables. In addition to exponential or trigonometric factors, such functions involve factors linear in coordinates. Equations for calculating the multiple roots are obtained, and the relationships that determine the impedance values at which the multiple roots appear are presented. The Green’s function is constructed for the case of the appearance of multiple roots. A plane waveguide and a circular waveguide with axially symmetric modes are considered.  相似文献

Using the induced magnetomotive force method, we obtain an approximate analytical solution of the problem of diffraction of the H10 mode by a narrow slot which is cut in the impedance finite-thickness wall on the end of a semi-infinite rectangular waveguide and radiates into free half-space over an infinite, perfectly conducting screen. The scattering-matrix coefficients of a slotted waveguide radiator are studied numerically for the values of the complex surface impedance which correspond to some particular types of a thin-film coating of the waveguide end wall.  相似文献

The effect of an inhomogeneity in the form of a circular cylinder the properties of whose base are described by a certain impedance and whose lateral surface is ideally conducting on the field of a point source in a plane impedance waveguide is studied. In a scalar approximation, the problem is reduced to a two-dimensional integral equation over the surface of the inhomogeneity. A solution is constructed by the method of successive approximations; the solution of the problem for a regular impedance waveguide is used as an initial approximation. Dispersions, attenuation and characteristic impedance of shielded conductor-backed coplanar waveguide(CBCPW) and shielded three-layer coplanar waveguide (CPW) with finite conductor thickness as well as their superconducting applications are calculated. The method of lines(MoL) is employed to analyze these coplanar waveguides. The analysis is validated by a comparison of the calculated results with those published previously. Effects of finite width of grounded strip for a CPW are considered. Extensive investigation of the numerical convergence for calculation of the characteristic impedance is also described.  相似文献

We study numerically rigorous dispersion relations for a plane-parallel waveguide in which the impedance of the walls is determined as either the impedance of a multilayer magneto-dielectric wall having a finite thickness, or as the impedance of a corresponding finite or infinite layer. Solutions for complex waves are obtained on the basis of the numerical iterative method. The corresponding analytical relationships are found in some limiting cases.  相似文献

The author investigates effect on the field of a point source in a plane impedance waveguide of an irregularity in the form of spherical surface that projects from (or is embedded into) the plane of the, ionospheric wall of the waveguide.
