FT-Raman and photoacoustic (PA) infrared spectra of six distillation fractions derived from Syncrude heavy gas oil (HGO), which has a boiling range from 343 to 524 degrees C, were analyzed in detail in this study. Most of the information on the fingerprint region (200-1,800 cm(-1)) is provided by the FT-Raman spectra, which display approximately 30 bands that are assignable to functional groups in alkanes or aromatics. Monocyclic, bicyclic and tricyclic aromatics in the six fractions were also monitored using bands in this region. The C-H stretching region in both the FT-Raman and PA infrared spectra of the HGO distillation fractions was analyzed according to a curve-fitting algorithm used in previous investigations of samples with lower boiling points. The PA spectra of the HGO fractions were also analyzed by integration. The curve-fitting results show that the frequencies of the 11 Raman and 8 infrared bands used to model the aliphatic (approximately 2,775-3,000 cm(-1)) parts of the respective spectra are approximately constant across the entire HGO boiling range. These band positions are consistent with the results obtained in earlier studies of other distillation fractions obtained from Syncrude sweet blend. Both curve-fitting and integration show that the respective proportions of CH(2) and CH(3) groups do not vary significantly within the HGO region.  相似文献

Four techniques for the reduction or elimination of fluorescence from Raman spectra of Syncrude process samples were examined in this study. These methods are based on the retrieval of Raman bands from differential, or derivative spectra. Differential data were generated by subtracting similar spectra of a given sample obtained in three ways: (a) shifted detection utilizing an array detector and two successive spectrometer settings; (b) shifted excitation (dispersive Raman) where the two spectra are recorded using neighbouring laser lines and ordinary photon counting; (c) shifted excitation (FT-Raman) in which the laser frequency is changed in software before acquisition of the second spectrum. In addition to these differential techniques, derivative spectra were acquired directly with a dispersive Raman system by modulating the wavelength during scanning. These fluorescence rejection methods were applied to two groups of Syncrude Sweet Blend distillation fractions. For light gas oils (boiling range, 195-343 degrees C) the ratio of monocyclic and bicyclic aromatic species was determined and bands due to aliphatic CH(n) groups were characterized. Heavy gas oils (343-524 degrees C) yielded bands that allowed quantitation of monocyclic, bicyclic and total aromatic groups. Bands due to aliphatics were also identified for the heavy gas oils. These results constitute a significant advance compared to the information obtainable using conventional dispersive and FT-Raman spectroscopy for the analysis of hydrocarbon distillation fractions.  相似文献

The fingerprint (200-1800 cm(-1)) region in FT-Raman spectra of Syncrude Sweet Blend (SSB) and its three constituent distillation fractions (naphtha, light gas oil and heavy gas oil) was analyzed in detail in this study. Approximately 50 bands were observed and assigned to functional groups in saturated (alkanes) and unsaturated (aromatics) species. Characteristic bands for mono-, bi-, and tricyclic aromatics were identified and used to quantify these groups in SSB and the distillation fractions. Total aromatics content was determined using the carbon-carbon stretching bands in the 1600-cm(-1) region, and shown to agree with earlier results obtained from the C-H stretching region. The bands due to mono- and bicyclic aromatics permitted calculation of the relative abundances of these species with an accuracy equivalent to that obtained using NMR spectroscopy, a traditional method for measuring this quantity.  相似文献

The C-H stretching region in FT-Raman spectra of Syncrude sweet blend (SSB) and three distillation fractions (naphtha, light gas oil and heavy gas oil) was analyzed in detail in this investigation. The frequencies and intensities of the 11 aliphatic and three aromatic C-H bands used to fit the spectrum of SSB were equal to the averages (weighted sums) of the corresponding quantities in the spectra of the fractions. The additivity of the spectra, thought to be a consequence of the large number of discrete compounds contained in each fraction, makes it possible to estimate the composition of other SSB samples using the spectra of the fractions reported in this work. In the aromatic C-H region, total intensities can be used to calculate the distribution of aromatics among the distillation fractions; these data also permit calculation of the fractional aromaticity (per cent aromatic carbon) for SSB and each fraction, with accuracies comparable to those obtained using NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

In order to be able to fully understand the vibrational dynamics of monosaccharide sugars, we started with hydroxyacetone CH2OHCOCH3, and glycolaldehyde CH2OHCOH, which are among the smallest molecules that contain hydroxyl and carbonyl group on neighboring carbon atoms. This sterical configuration is characteristic for saccharides and determines their biochemical activity. In this work vibrational analysis of hydroxyacetone was undertaken by performing the normal coordinate analysis for glycolaldehyde first, and transferring these force constants to hydroxyacetone. The observed Raman and infrared bands for 90 wt.% solution of hydroxyacetone in water (acetol) were used as a first approximation for the bands of free hydroxyacetone. The number of observed Raman and infrared bands for acetol exceeds the number of calculated values for the most stable hydroxyacetone conformer with Cs symmetry, which suggests more than one conformer of hydroxyacetone in water solution. In particular, there are two bands both in infrared (1083 and 1057 cm(-1)) and in Raman spectrum (1086.5 and 1053 cm(-1)) that are assigned to the CO stretching mode and this is one of the indicators of several hydroxyacetone conformers in the solution. Additional information was obtained from low temperature Raman spectra: at 240 K a broad asymmetric band centered around 280 cm(-1) appears, suggesting a disorder in the orientation of hydroxyl groups. Glassy state forms at approximately 150K. The broad band at 80 cm(-1) is assigned to frozen torsions of hydroxymethyl groups.  相似文献

Rapid- and step-scan photoacoustic (PA) infrared spectra of three fractions of a Syncrude post-extraction oil sand were analyzed in detail in this work. The rapid-scan spectra showed that the samples were comprised primarily of kaolinite, quartz, silica, siderite, and residual hydrocarbons, and that the proportions of these constituents were different for each fraction. Depth profiling of the three post-extraction oil sands was accomplished using both rapid- and step-scan PA infrared spectroscopy. The results confirmed that kaolinite is more abundant in the near-surface region, whereas quartz and hydrocarbons are concentrated at greater depths. The modulation frequency dependence of the PA intensities for all three fractions was consistent with a model in which the samples are thermally thick; in other words, the thermal diffusion length (roughly equal to the sampling depth) was less than the particle sizes of all three samples. The results of this study are consistent with published reports on the PA infrared spectra of fine tailings generated during bitumen extraction and the spectroscopic and thermophysical characterization of clay soils and an appropriate model clay.  相似文献

The Fourier-transform Raman (FT-Raman), infrared (FT-IR), and UV-visible absorption spectra of four dipyrrinones and two mesobilirubins have been investigated in the solid state and in CH2Cl2 solutions. A detailed spectral analysis, assignment and discussion of these spectra are presented. The bands at 1735-1738, 1691-1707 and 1359-1377 cm(-1) which were assigned to the stretching vibrations of the C-O-C and C-O-H and symmetric deformation of C-H bonds, respectively, can act as a marker to distinguish the compounds of this class. The striking differences between the spectra of the compounds suggest that mesobilirubin XIIIalpha is tending to adopt as ridge-tile conformation, rather than linear conformation.  相似文献

The Raman and IR spectra of NH3(CH2)5NH3SnCl6 have been measured at ambient temperature. It is shown that the cations in the compound assume a symmetry lower than C2v. Combination bands observed in the 2100-1800 cm(-1) region in the IR spectrum of NH3(CH2)5NH3SnCl6 indicate that the compound contains the C-NH3 grouping, the bands are discussed and their assignment are suggested. No evidence of existence of hydrogen bonding is found from the infrared spectrum in the region of 2800-3200 cm(-1); anions and cations are found not connected by hydrogen bonding and are therfore isolated. The Raman spectrum of anions can be interpreted in terms of disordered groups, not clearly showing the predicted splitting of bands.  相似文献

Raman and infrared spectroscopy has been used to study the structure of selected vanadates including pascoite, huemulite, barnesite, hewettite, metahewettite, hummerite. Pascoite, rauvite and huemulite are examples of simple salts involving the decavanadates anion (V10O28)6-. Decavanadate consists of four distinct VO6 units which are reflected in Raman bands at the higher wavenumbers. The Raman spectra of these minerals are characterised by two intense bands at 991 and 965 cm(-1). Four pascoite Raman bands are observed at 991, 965, 958 and 905 cm(-1) and originate from four distinct VO6 sites. The other minerals namely barnesite, hewettite, metahewettite and hummerite have similar layered structures to the decavanadates but are based upon (V5O14)3- units. Barnesite is characterised by a single Raman band at 1010 cm(-1), whilst hummerite has Raman bands at 999 and 962 cm(-1). The absence of four distinct bands indicates the overlap of the vibrational modes from two of the VO6 sites. Metarossite is characterised by a strong band at 953 cm(-1). These bands are assigned to nu1 symmetric stretching modes of (V6O16)2- units and terminal VO3 units. In the infrared spectra of these minerals, bands are observed in the 837-860 cm(-1) and in the 803-833 cm(-1) region. In some of the Raman spectra bands are observed for pascoite, hummerite and metahewettite in similar positions. These bands are assigned to nu3 antisymmetric stretching of (V10O28)6- units or (V5O14)3- units. Because of the complexity of the spectra in the low wavenumber region assignment of bands is difficult. Bands are observed in the 404-458 cm(-1) region and are assigned to the nu2 bending modes of (V10O28)6- units or (V5O14)3- units. Raman bands are observed in the 530-620 cm(-1) region and are assigned to the nu4 bending modes of (V10O28)6- units or (V5O14)3- units. The Raman spectra of the vanadates in the low wavenumber region are complex with multiple overlapping bands which are probably due to VO subunits and MO bonds.  相似文献

Zinc phosphates are important in the study of the phosphatisation of metals. Raman spectroscopy in combination with infrared spectroscopy has been used to characterise the zinc phosphate minerals. The minerals may be characterised by the patterns of the hydroxyl stretching vibrations in both the Raman and infrared spectra. Spencerite is characterised by a sharp Raman band at 3516 cm(-1) and tarbuttite by a single band at 3446 cm(-1). The patterns of the Raman spectra of the hydroxyl stretching region of hopeite and parahopeite are different in line with their differing crystal structures. The Raman spectrum of the PO4 stretching region shows better band separated peaks than the infrared spectra which consist of a complex set of overlapping bands. The position of the PO4 symmetric stretching mode can be used to identify the zinc phosphate mineral. It is apparent that Raman spectroscopy lends itself to the fundamental study of the evolution of zinc phosphate films.  相似文献

Hydrogen bonding and interchain interactions in phytantriol, 3,7,11,15-tetramethyl-1,2,3-hexadecanetriol, have been studied by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopies. Assignments of the bands were performed based on the OH/OD isotopic substitution, molecular modeling, and measurements of polarized Raman spectra. Marker bands were evaluated from the temperature-dependent spectral changes. It is shown that Raman spectroscopy provides sensitive markers, namely I(delta(CH2))/I(deltas(CH3)), tau(CH)2, I(nus(CH3)(FR))/I(nus(CH2)), and nus(CH2) for probing the interactions between the hydrocarbon chains. Hydrogen bonding interaction might be studied through the difference Raman spectroscopy by the analysis of polarized band at 811 cm-1. Relationship is found between the frequencies of IR bands at 883-873 and 1097-1086 cm-1, associated with the vibrations localized at the primary COH site, and the frequencies of OH stretching mode, making these bands specific markers in the analysis of hydrogen bonding. Evaluated marker bands may be of utility to probe the interchain and hydrogen bonding interaction of phytantriol with guest molecules in the practically important aqueous liquid-crystalline phases of this lipid.  相似文献

A structural analysis for dibutoxyphosphoryl benzylisothiourea (DBBT) was carried out by mass spectrometry, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, infrared and Raman spectroscopy. The Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectra of liquid of DBBT were carried out with the purpose of studying the tautomerism (structures I and II) and the behavior of the more polar absorption's bands in different solvents, i.e., absorption's of the P=O and C=N bands. The results suggest the existence of tautomerism in the pure (liquid) compound and in solution of CHCl(3), CH(2)Cl(2), CHBr(3), and THF, C(2)H(4)Cl(2) and C(2)H(4)Br(2). The solvent interaction with the P=O band was characterized by the presence of a new band in the region of the O-H absorption. A vibrational assignment of the IR bands and Raman shifts was done and is proposed in this paper.  相似文献

The infrared, the Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectra of p-chlorobenzoic acid (p-CBA) has been recorded in the region 4000-600 cm(-1), 4000-400 cm(-1) and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The optimized geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of p-CBA were obtained by the ab initio HF and DFT (B3LYP) methods with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. The harmonic-vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The experimental spectra also coincide satisfactorily with those of theoretically constructed bar type spectrograms.  相似文献

The infrared (3100-40 cm(-1)) spectra of gaseous and solid and Raman (3200-20 cm(-1)) spectra of liquid with qualitative depolarization values and solid n-propyltrifluorosilane, CH(3)CH(2)CH(2)SiF(3), have been recorded. Additionally the infrared spectra of the sample in nitrogen and argon matrices have been recorded. Both the anti and gauche conformers have been identified in the fluid phases but only the anti conformer remains in the solid. Variable temperature (-105 to -150 degrees C) studies of the infrared spectra of the sample dissolved in liquid krypton have been recorded and the enthalpy difference has been determined to be 135+/-14 cm(-1) (1.62+/-0.17 kJ mol(-1)) with the anti conformer the more stable form. At ambient temperature it is estimated that there is 51+/-2% of the gauche conformer present. Also the enthalpy difference in the liquid was obtained from variable temperature studies of the Raman spectra and from three conformer pairs an average value of 179+/-18 cm(-1) (2.14+/-0.22 kJ mol(-1)) was obtained again with the anti form the more stable conformer. Relatively complete vibrational assignments are proposed for both conformers based on the relative infrared and Raman spectral intensities, infrared band contours, depolarization ratios which are supported by normal coordinate calculations. The geometrical parameters, harmonic force constants, vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities, Raman activities, depolarization ratios, and energy differences have been obtained for the anti and gauche conformers from ab initio MP2/6-31G(d) calculations. Structural parameters and energy differences have also been obtained utilizing the larger 6-311+G(d, p) and 6-311+G(2d, 2p) basis sets. By utilizing the previously reported microwave rotational constants for five isotopomers of CH(3)SiF(3) along with ab initio predicted structural values, r(0) parameters have been obtained for methyltrifluorosilane. Similarly, from the ab initio predicted parameters "adjusted r(0)" parameters have been estimated for both conformers of n-propyltrifluorosilane. The results are discussed and compared with those obtained for some similar molecules.  相似文献

The ultraviolet absorption spectrum in the range 340-185 nm in the vapour and solution phase has been measured for 2-fluoro-5-bromopyridine. Three fairly intense band systems identified as the pi* <-- pi transitions II, III and IV have been observed. A detailed vibronic analysis of the vapor and solution spectra is presented. The first system of bands is resolved into about sixty-two distinct vibronic bands in the vapour-phase spectrum. The 0,0 band is located at 35944 cm(-1). Two well-developed progressions, in which the excited state frequencies nu'25 (283 cm(-1)) and nu'19 (550 cm(-1)) are excited by several quanta, have been observed. The corresponding excited state vibrational and anharmonicity constants are found to be omega'i = 292 cm(-1), x'ii = 4.5 cm(-1) (i = 25) and omega'i = 563.8 cm(-1), x'ii = 6.9 cm(-1) (i = 19). The other two band systems show no vibronic structure, the band maxima being located at 48346 and 52701 cm(-1), respectively. The oscillator strength of the band systems in different solutions and the excited state dipole moments associated with the first two transitions have been determined by the solvent-shift method. The infrared spectrum in the region 4000-130 cm(-1) and the laser Raman spectrum of the molecule in the liquid state have been measured and a complete vibrational assignment of the observed frequencies is given. A correlation of the ground and excited state fundamental frequencies observed in the UV absorption spectrum with the Raman or infrared frequencies is presented.  相似文献

Fourier-transform (FF) Raman spectroscopy and chemometrics were used for nondestructive analysis of ivories. The discrimination of five kinds of ivories, two subspecies of African elephant, mammoth, hippopotamus, and sperm whale, was investigated, and a calibration model for predicting their specific gravity was developed. FT-Raman spectra were measured in situ for them and chemometrics analyses were carried out for the 3050-350 cm(-1) region. The five kinds of ivories were clearly discriminated from each other on the scores plots of two or three principal components (PCs) obtained by principal component analysis (PCA). The loadings plot for PC 1 shows that the discrimination relies on the content ratio of organic collagenous protein and inorganic hydroxyapatite of ivories. The loadings plot for PC 2 shows that bands due to the CH3 and CH2 stretching modes of the protein also play a role in the discrimination. Using partial least squares regression (PLSR), we developed a calibration model that predicts the specific gravity of the ivories from the FT-Raman spectra. The correlation coefficient and root mean square error of cross validation (RMSECV) of this model were 0.980 and 0.024, respectively.  相似文献

Infrared spectra of 3,3,3-trifluoropropyltrichlorosilane (CF3CH2CH2SiCl3) were obtained in the vapour, amorphous and crystalline solid phases in the range 4000-50 cm-1. Additional spectra in argon matrices at 5.0 K were recorded before and after annealing to 20-36 K. Raman spectra of the compound as a liquid were recorded at various temperatures between 298 and 210 K and spectra of the amorphous and crystalline solids were obtained. The spectra suggested the existence of two conformers (anti and gauche) in the fluid phases and in the matrix. When the vapour was shock-frozen on a cold finger at 80 K and subsequently annealed to 120-150 K, six weak or very weak Raman bands vanished in the crystal. Similar variations were observed in the corresponding infrared spectra after annealing and four very weak IR bands disappeared after crystallization. From intensity variations between 298 and 210 K of three Raman band pairs an average value Delta(conf)H degrees (gauche-anti)=6.1+/-0.5 kJmol-1 was obtained in the liquid. Annealing experiments indicate that the anti conformer also has a lower energy in the argon matrices. The conformational equilibrium is highly shifted towards anti in the liquid, and the low energy conformer also forms the crystal. The spectra of the abundant anti conformer and the few bands ascribed to the gauche conformer have been interpreted. Ab initio calculations at the HF/6-311G(**) and B3LYP/6-311G(**) gave optimized geometries, infrared and Raman intensities and vibrational frequencies for the anti and gauche conformers. The conformational energy differences derived were 11.8 and 9.2 kJmol-1 from the HF and the B3LYP calculations, respectively.  相似文献

FT-Raman spectra were obtained from the natural hydrocarbon mixtures ozokerite and hatchettite as well as from the terpenoid minerals fichtelite (norabietane) and hartite (alpha-phyllocladane). Some of these hydrocarbons occur in soil and peat environments of Holocene age. However, hartite occurs in lignite, in fossilised Glyptostrobus (Taxodiaceae) trees and in pelosiderites of the Bílina Miocene series (about 20 Ma); it represents the accumulated and crystallised product of diagenetic transformation of precursor biogenic terpenoids. Raman spectra of earth waxes investigated confirm their dominantly aliphatic character and oxidative degradation (related to weathering and/or subaerial alteration in museum cabinets). Vibrational assignments are proposed and differences in Raman spectra of fichtelite and hartite discussed. Some of the individual features can be used for discrimination (e.g., hartite bands at 1480, 1310, 1287, 1041, 729 and 693 cm(-1) and fichtelite bands at 1302, 836, 717 and 533 cm(-1)).  相似文献

The vibrational spectroscopy of novel biliverdin compounds were studied by Fourier-transform Raman (FT-Raman) and infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The effects of type, length and position of substituents at C(8) and C(12) or C(1) and C(19) of tetrapyrroles on FT-Raman and FT-IR spectra of these compounds, are discussed. The marker bands are developed in order to distinguish between etiobiliverdin and mesobiliverdin.  相似文献

Raman and infrared spectra of four substituted 3,5-diamino-6-(ortho-substituted phenyl)-1,2,4-triazines, having ortho-fluoro, -chloro, -bromo and -methyl groups on the phenyl ring, are reported and discussed. Bands due to substituent sensitive phenyl vibrations are observed in both the Raman and infrared spectra. The Raman spectra of all four compounds have strong bands near 770 and 1330 cm(-1) which are assigned to the ring breathing vibration of the 1,2,4-triazine ring and an asymmetric triazine C-NH2 stretching vibration, respectively. A medium/strong band near 800 cm(-1) in the infrared spectra is attributed to an out-of-plane bending vibration of the substituted 1,2,4-triazine ring.  相似文献
