Temperature dependences of the linear permittivity ε' and the third harmonic amplitude γ of composites prepared by introducing ferroelectrics SC(NH2)2 into matrices of porous aluminum oxide Al2O3 with pore sizes 60 and 100 nm are determined. It is found that temperature T c of the ferroelectric phase transition and the temperature T i of the phase transition from incommensurable phase to the paraphrase increase significantly. The transition shifts increase as pore diameters decrease.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the electrical resistance has been studied for heterostructures formed by antiferromagnetic LaMnO3 single crystals of different orientations with epitaxial films of ferroelectric Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 deposited onto them. The measured electrical resistance is compared to that exhibited by LaMnO3 single crystals without the films. It is found that, in the samples with the film, for which the axis of polarization in the ferroelectric is directed along the perpendicular to the surface of the single crystal, the electrical resistance decreases significantly with temperature, exhibiting metallic behavior below 160 K. The numerical simulations of the structural and electronic characteristics of the BaTiO3/LaMnO3 ferroelectric?antiferromagnet heterostructure has been performed. The transition to the state with two-dimensional electron gas at the interface is demonstrated.  相似文献

The dielectric and optical (optical transmission, small-angle light scattering, birefringence) properties of PMNT-0.2 single crystals and their variation induced by a dc electric field have been studied. The birefringence was found to increase anomalously at the transition from the rhombohedral ferroelectric to the inhomogeneous relaxor phase (the spontaneous ferroelectric transition temperature Tsp). Below Tsp, the dielectric and optical properties were observed to exhibit anomalies originating from reorientation and growth of domains in size. Unlike ferroelectric relaxors of the type of PbB1/3B2/3O3 and PbB1/2B1/2O3, in PMNT-0.2 neither induction of the ferroelectric phase by an electric field nor thermally stimulated destruction of the ferroelectric state occurs through the percolation mechanism (i.e., they are not accompanied by anomalously narrow maxima in small-angle light scattering). This is attributed to the inhomogeneous structure of the relaxor phase, as a result of which the phase transition does not take place simultaneously in various regions of the crystal.  相似文献

The dynamic Born charges and the frequency spectra of lattice oscillations in the crystals of ordered and disordered PbSc1/2Ta1/2O3 (PST) and PbSc1/2Nb1/2O3 (PSN) solid solutions have been calculated within the framework of the generalized Gordon-Kim model with allowance for the dipole and quadrupole polarizabilities. The phonon spectra of both compounds contain ferroelectric soft modes. The influence of various interactions on the magnitude of dynamic charges and ferroelectric instability in PSN and PST solid solutions has been studied and it is shown that both these charges and the ferroelectric instability are determined by the competition between long-range dipole-dipole interactions and short-range dipole-charge interactions, the determining role played by the interaction of Nb (Ta) cations and oxygen anions in the Nb-O (Ta-O) bond direction.  相似文献

Bi3.25La0.75Ti3-yNbyO12 (y=0.0, 0.03, 0.09, 0.15, 0.21) were synthesized using the solid-state reaction method. The effects of Nb doping on ferroelectric properties were studied through dielectric and P-E measurements. The value of Pr increases with increasing Nb content. Bi3.25La0.75Ti3-yNbyO12 ceramics exhibit a maximum remanent polarization of Pr=27 μC/cm2 at an Nb content of y=0.09. These results indicate that Nb doping can improve the ferroelectric properties of BLT ceramics. The Curie temperature, Tc, decreased with increasing Nb-content, and the ferroelectric phase transition of BLTNy is a second-order transition without thermal hysteresis. As a single-phase multiferroic material, Fe3O4 exhibits spontaneous ferroelectric polarization below 38 K. However, the nature of the ferroelectricity in Fe3O4 and effect of external disturbances such as strain on it remains ambiguous. Here, the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization of low-temperature monoclinic Fe3O4 was investigated by first-principles calculations. The pseudo-centrosymmetric FeB42–FeB43 pair has a different valence state. The noncentrosymmetric charge distribution results in ferroelectric polarization. The initial ferroelectric polarization direction is in the -x and -z directions. The ferroelectricity along the y axis is limited owing to the symmetry of the Cc space group. Both the ionic displacement and charge separation at the FeB42–FeB43 pair are affected by strain, which further influences the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization of monoclinic Fe3O4. The ferroelectric polarization along the z axis exhibits an increase of 45.3% as the strain changes from 6% to -6%.  相似文献

Ferroelectric and dielectric properties of bilayered ferroelectric thin films, SrBi4Ti4O15 grown on Bi4Ti3O12, were investigated. The thin films were annealed at 700°C under oxygen atmosphere. The bilayered thin films were prepared on a Pt(111)/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by a chemical solution deposition method. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the bilayered thin films were 645 and 0.09, respectively, at 100 kHz. The value of remnant polarization (2P r) measured from the ferroelectric thin film capacitors was 60.5 μC/cm2 at electric field of 200 kV/cm. The remnant polarization was reduced by 22% of the initial value after 1010 switching cycles. The results showed that the ferroelectric and dielectric properties of the SrBi4Ti4O15 on Bi4Ti3O12 ferroelectric thin films were better than those of the SrBi4Ti4O15 grown on a Pt-coated Si substrate suggesting that the improved properties may be due to the different nucleation and growth kinetics of SrBi4Ti4O15 on the c-axis-oriented Bi4Ti3O12 layer or on the Pt-coated Si substrate.  相似文献

The temperature and frequency dependencies of sound attenuation for the proper uniaxial ferroelectric Sn2P2S6, which has a strong nonlinear interaction of the polar soft optic and fully symmetrical optic modes that is related to the triple well potential, were studied by Brillouin spectroscopy. It was found that the sound velocity anomaly is described in the Landau-Khalatnikov approximation with one relaxation time. For explanation of the observed temperature and frequency dependencies of the sound attenuation in the ferroelectrric phase, the accounting of several relaxation times is needed and, for quantitative calculations, the mode Gruneisen coefficients are more appropriate as interacting parameters than are the electrostrictive coefficients. Relaxational sound attenuation by domain walls also appears in the ferroelectric phase of Sn2P2S6 crystals.  相似文献

PbIn0.5Nb0.5O3 (PIN) ferroelectric relaxer ceramics obtained by the solid-phase method is studied. Prior to sintering, the synthesized charge is subjected to mechanical action in Bridgman anvils at room temperature. The electrophysical properties of the reference sample and test samples are compared. It is concluded that mechanical treatment of the material at the stage of preparation allows one to control the physical properties of ferroelectric ceramics. Starting from a certain amount of the action, the electrophysical properties of PIN ceramics vary nonmonotonically.  相似文献

The lattice dynamics of silver niobate AgNbO3 and sodium niobate NaNbO3 is calculated from first principles. The unstable modes (i.e., tilting of oxygen octahedra and ferroelectric atomic displacements) in silver and sodium niobates are analyzed. It is shown that the existence of ferroelectric modes is associated primarily with the instability of the atomic positions of silver and sodium in the crystal lattice. The dynamic charges in the structure of silver and sodium niobates are determined. According to the first-principles calculations, both silver and sodium niobates in the ground state (T = 0) are characterized by ferroelectric atomic displacements and frozen tilting of oxygen octahedra, with the only difference being that the tilting modes of the oxygen octahedra in silver niobate correspond to the M point of the Brillouin zone, whereas those in sodium niobate are attributed to the R point of the Brillouin zone. The results of these calculations are in good agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

First-principles density functional theory is used to calculate the phonon spectrum in the paraelectric phase, the ground-state structure and polarization distribution in the polar phase, and energies of ferro- and antiferroelectrically ordered phases of free-standing (KNbO3)1(KTaO3) n ferroelectric superlattices with n = 1–7. It is established that quasi-two-dimensional ferroelectricity with polarization oriented in the layer plane, which weakly interacts with polarization in neighboring layers, appears in potassium niobate layers with a thickness of one unit cell in the superlattices. The possibility of using of such ferroelectric superlattices as a medium for three-dimensional information recording is shown.  相似文献

Temperature dependences of permittivity ε′ and third harmonic amplitude γ of nanocomposites obtained by embedding ferroelectric SC(NH2)2 in porous alumina films with pore sizes of 60 and 100 nm are studied. A substantial increase in the temperatures of ferroelectric phase transition Tc1 and Tc2 and that of phase transition Ti from incommensurate phase to paraphase are also observed. BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films with BaTiO3 (BTO) or SrTiO3 (STO) as buffer layer were epitaxially grown on SrRuO3-covered SrTiO3 substrates. X-ray diffraction measurements show that the BTO buffer causes tensile strain in the BFO films, whereas the STO buffer causes compressive strain. Different ferroelectric domain structures caused by these two strain statuses are revealed by piezoelectric force microscopy. Electrical and magnetical measurements show that the tensile-strained BFO/BTO samples have reduced leakage current and large ferroelectric polarization and magnetization, compared with compressively strained BFO/STO. These results demonstrate that the electrical and magnetical properties of BFO thin films can be artificially modified by using a buffer layer.  相似文献

Dielectric and Raman scattering experiments were performed on polycrystalline Pb1-xCaxTiO3 thin films (x=0.10, 0.20, 0.30, and 0.40) as a function of temperature. The results showed no shift in the dielectric constant (K) maxima, a broadening with frequency, and a linear dependence of the transition temperature on increasing Ca2+ content. On the other hand, a diffuse-type phase transition was observed upon transforming from the cubic paraelectric to the tetragonal ferroelectric phase in all thin films. The temperature dependence of Raman scattering spectra was investigated through the ferroelectric phase transition. The temperature dependence of the phonon frequencies was used to characterize the phase transitions. Raman modes persisted above the tetragonal to cubic phase transition temperature, although all optical modes should be Raman inactive. The origin of these modes was interpreted in terms of a breakdown of the local cubic symmetry due to chemical disorder. The lack of a well-defined transition temperature and the presence of broad bands in some temperature interval above the FE–PE phase transition temperature suggested a diffuse-type phase transition. This result corroborates the dielectric constant versus temperature data, which showed a broad ferroelectric phase transition in these thin films. The electric-field-induced variation of the optical properties (small-angle light scattering, birefringence) of PBSN-6 solid solutions was studied. It was found that in the absence of an electric field, the cubic nonpolar matrix contains, at temperatures below the dielectric permittivity maximum, spontaneously polarized regions of the ferroelectric phase not less than 104 Å in size. It was shown that a weak electric field (~0.4 kV/cm) is capable of inducing a kinetic phase transition to the ferroelectric state, with the temperature of this transformation depending on the sample heating rate. The destruction of the induced state was accompanied by a sharp peak in the temperature dependence of the small-angle light scattering intensity (indicating the percolation nature of the transition) and was independent of the sample heating rate. The boundaries of stability of the induced state in various modes of application of an external electric field were determined, and the E-T phase diagram was constructed.  相似文献

Highly c-axis-oriented Sr3Bi4Ti6O21 (SBTi) thin films were fabricated on Pt-coated Si substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The structures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). No peaks of SrTiO3 (STO) could be detected in the XRD pattern, indicating the existence of the SBTi single phase. Good ferroelectric hysteresis loops of the films with Pt electrodes were obtained. With an applied field of 400 kV/cm, the measured remanent polarization (Pr) and coercive field (Ec) values were 4.1 C/cm2 and 75 kV/cm respectively. The films showed little fatigue after 2.22×109 switching cycles: the nonvolatile polarizations decreased by less than 5% of the initial values. The dielectric constant and the loss tangent of the films were measured to be 363 and 0.04 at 100 kHz. These results might be advantageous for nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (NVFRAM) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM). PACS 77.84.Dy; 77.22.-d; 68.55.Jk  相似文献

Using an ordinary ceramic fabrication technique, we fabricated lead-free (1-x)(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3-xBa(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 ceramics with CuO sintering aid . Ba(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 diffuses into (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 to form a new solid solution. The ceramics with perovskite structure possess orthorhombic phase at x≤0.04 and become tetragonal phase at x≥0.06. Both the paraelectric cubic–ferroelectric tetragonal and the ferroelectric tetragonal–ferroelectric orthorhombic phase transition temperatures decrease with increasing the concentration of Ba(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3. The doping of CuO effectively promotes the densification of the ceramics. The coexistence of the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases at 0.04<x<0.06 and the improvement in sintering performances of the ceramics significantly enhance the piezoelectric and dielectric properties at room temperature. The ceramics with x=0.04–0.06 and y=0.75–1.50 possess excellent properties: d33=119–185 pC/N, kP=37–44%, kt=35–49%, ε=341–1129, cosδ=0.7–4.4% and Tc=312–346 °C. The dielectric properties of strontium-barium niobate crystals with a strontium concentration of 0.75, which corresponds to the most smeared ferroelectric phase transition, were measured. The dielectric hysteresis loops and the polarization relaxation are shown to exhibit clearly pronounced features characteristic of crystals with structural disorder and a broad distribution of a random internal electric field. The measurements were performed in dc, slowly varying (quasi-static), and pulsed electric fields. The experimental data obtained are used to construct the distribution function for the coercive field in the crystal bulk.  相似文献
