In the first part of the paper we deal with a second-order evolution variational inequality involving a multivalued term generated by a Clarke subdifferential of a locally Lipschitz potential. For this problem we construct a time-semidiscrete approximation, known as the Rothe scheme. We study a sequence of solutions of the semidiscrete approximate problems and provide its weak convergence to a limit element that is a solution of the original problem. Next, we show that the solution is unique and the convergence is strong. In the second part of the paper, we consider a dynamic visco-elastic problem of contact mechanics. We assume that the contact process is governed by a normal damped response condition with a unilateral constraint and the body is non-clamped. The mechanical problem in its weak formulation reduces to a variational–hemivariational inequality that can be solved by finding a solution of a corresponding abstract problem related to one studied in the first part of the paper. Hence, we apply obtained existence result to provide the weak solvability of contact problem.  相似文献

We consider amathematical model of the spatial action of a medium on the axisymmetric rigid body whose external surface has a part that is a circular cone.We present a complete system of equations of motion under the quasistationary conditions. The dynamical part forms an independent system of the sixth order in which the independent subsystems of lower order are distinguished. We study the problem of stability with respect to the part of variables of the key regime—the spatial rectilinear translational deceleration of the body. For a particular class of bodies, we show the inertial mass characteristics under which the key regime is stable. For a plane analog of the problem, we obtain a family of phase portraits in the space of quasivelocities.  相似文献

We consider the problem of completion of a matrix with a specified lower triangular part to a unitary matrix. In this paper we obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions of existence of a unitary completion without any additional constraints and give a general formula for this completion. The paper is mainly focused on matrices with the specified lower triangular part of a special form. For such a specified part the unitary completion is a structured matrix, and we derive in this paper the formulas for its structure. Next we apply the unitary completion method to the solution of the eigenvalue problem for a class of structured matrices via structured QR iterations.

The aim of this work is to provide a mathematical and numerical tool for the analysis of the manoeuvrability capabilities of a submarine. To this end, we consider a suitable optimal control problem with constraints in both state and control variables. The state law is composed of a highly coupled and nonlinear system of twelve ordinary differential equations. Control inputs appear in linear and quadratic form and physically are linked to rudders and propeller forces and moments. We consider a nonlinear Bolza type cost function which represents a commitment between reaching a final desired state and a minimal expense of control. In a first part, following recent ideas in [F. Periago, J. Tiago, A local existence result for an optimal control problem modeling the manoeuvring of an underwater vehicle, Nonlinear Anal. RWA 11 (2010) 2573–2583], we prove a local existence result for the above mentioned optimal control problem. In a second part, we address the numerical resolution of the problem by using a descent method with projection and optimal step-size parameter. To illustrate the performance of the method proposed in this paper and to show its application in a real engineering problem we include three different numerical experiments for a standard manoeuvre.  相似文献

We deal with a Home Health Care Problem (HHCP) which objective consists in constructing the optimal routes and rosters for the health care staffs. The challenge lies in combining aspects of vehicle routing and staff rostering which are two well known hard combinatorial optimization problems. To solve this problem, we initially propose an integer linear programming formulation (ILP) and we tested this model on small instances. To deal with larger instances we develop a matheuristic based on the decomposition of the ILP formulation into two problems. The first one is a set partitioning like problem and it represents the rostering part. The second problem consists in the routing part. This latter is equivalent to a Multi-depot Traveling Salesman Problem with Time Windows (MTSPTW).  相似文献

We consider an optimal control problem posed on a domain with a highly oscillating smooth boundary where the controls are applied on the oscillating part of the boundary. There are many results on domains with oscillating boundaries where the oscillations are pillar‐type (non‐smooth) while the literature on smooth oscillating boundary is very few. In this article, we use appropriate scaling on the controls acting on the oscillating boundary leading to different limit control problems, namely, boundary optimal control and interior optimal control problem. In the last part of the article, we visualize the domains as a branched structure, and we introduce unfolding operators to get contributions from each level at every branch.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to identify a space-dependent source term in a multi-dimensional time fractional diffusion-wave equation from a part of noisy boundary data. Based on the series expression of solution for the direct problem, we improve the regularity of the weak solution for the direct problem under strong conditions. And we obtain the uniqueness of inverse space-dependent source term problem by the Titchmarsh convolution theorem and the Duhamel principle. Further, we use a non-stationary iterative Tikhonov regularization method combined with a finite dimensional approximation to find a stable source term. Numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The problem of the bending of an isotropic elastic plate, bounded by two rectangles with vertices lying on the same half-line, drawn from the common centre, is considered. The vertices of the inner rectangle are cut by convex smooth arcs (we will call the set of these arcs the unknown part of the boundary). It is assumed that normal bending moments act on each rectilinear section of the boundary contours in such a way that the angle of rotation of the midsurface of the plate is a piecewise-constant function. The unknown part of the boundary is free from external forces. The problem consists of determining the bending of the midsurface of the plate and the analytic form of the unknown part of the boundary when the tangential normal moment acting on it takes a constant value, while the shearing force and the normal bending moments and torques are equal to zero. The problem is solved by the methods of the theory of boundary-value problems of analytical functions.  相似文献

We consider a coupled system of parabolic/ODE equations describing solid combustion. For a given rescaling of the reaction term (the high activation energy limit), we show that the limit solution solves a free boundary problem which is to our knowledge new.In the time-increasing case, the limit coincides with the Stefan problem with spatially inhomogeneous coefficients. In general it is a parabolic equation with a memory term.In the first part of our paper we give a characterization of the limit problem in one space dimension. In the second part of the paper, we construct a family of pulsating traveling waves for the limit one phase Stefan problem with periodic coefficients. This corresponds to the assumption of periodic initial concentration of reactant.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a mixed boundary value problem to a class of nonlinear operators containing $p(\cdot )$-Laplacian. More precisely, we are concerned with the problem with the Dirichlet condition on a part of the boundary and the Steklov boundary condition on an another part of the boundary. We show the existence of at least three weak solutions under some hypotheses on given functions and the values of parameters.  相似文献

For the Gellerstedt equation, we study a problem with shift in a domain whose elliptic part is an infinite half-strip. By using generalized fractional differentiation operators, we specify a linear combination that relates the value of the solution on characteristics of the equation with the value of the solution and its derivative on the parabolic degeneration line. We prove the unique solvability of this problem.  相似文献

We consider an inverse source problem for an inhomogeneous wave equation with discrete-in-time sources, modeling a seismic rupture. The inverse source problem, with an arbitrary source term on the right-hand side of the wave equation, is not uniquely solvable. Here we formulate conditions on the source term that allow us to show uniqueness and that provide a reasonable model for the application of interest. We assume that the source term is supported on a finite set of times and that the support in space moves with subsonic velocity. Moreover, we assume that the spatial part of the source is singular on a hypersurface, an application being a seismic rupture along a fault plane. Given data collected over time on a detection surface that encloses the spatial projection of the support of the source, we show how to recover the times and locations of sources microlocally and then reconstruct the smooth part of the source assuming that it is the same at each source location.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of reconstructing solutions to a generalized Moisil-Theodorescu system in a spatial domain from their values on a part of the domain boundary, i.e., the Cauchy problem. We construct an approximate solution to this problem with the help of the Carleman matrix method.  相似文献

In this work, we investigate a boundary problem with non‐local conditions for mixed parabolic–hyperbolic‐type equation with three lines of type changing with Caputo fractional derivative in the parabolic part. We equivalently reduce considered problem to the system of second kind Volterra integral equations. In the parabolic part, we use solution of the first boundary problem with appropriate Green's function, and in hyperbolic parts, we use corresponding solutions of the Cauchy problem. We consider two simultaneous Sturm-Liouville systems coupled by two spectral parameters. However, unlike the standard multiparameter problem, we now suppose that the principal part of each of the differential operators is multiplied by a different parameter. In a recent paper, Faierman and Mennicken derived various results concerning the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, and in particular, they established the oscillation theory for this system. Here we continue this investigation focusing on the completeness of the set of eigenfunctions in a suitable function space. If either one of the potentials is identically zero, the completeness of the eigenfunctions is established, whereas, if this condition fails, then we show the existence of an essential spectrum having non-zero points. The completeness problem for this latter case will be left for a later work. M?ller and Watson supported in part by the John Knopfmacher Centre for Applicable Analysis and Number Theory.  相似文献

We consider a boundary-value problem for a mixed-type equation with two perpendicular singularity lines given in a domain whose elliptic part is a rectangle, while the hyperbolic one is a vertical half-strip. This problem differs from the Dirichlet one by the fact that at the left boundary of the rectangle and the half-strip we specify the vanishing order of the desired function rather than its value. We find a solution to the problem by a spectral method with the use of the Fourier–Bessel series and prove the uniqueness of the solution. We substantiate the uniform convergence of the corresponding series under certain requirements to the problem statement.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for the Navier-Stokes system of equations in a three-dimensional space rotating uniformly about the vertical axis with the periodicity condition with respect to the spatial variables. Studying this problem is based on expanding given and sought vector functions in Fourier series in terms of the eigenfunctions of the curl and Stokes operators. Using the Galerkin method, we reduce the problem to the Cauchy problem for the system of ordinary differential equations, which has a simple explicit form in the basis under consideration. Its linear part is diagonal, which allows writing explicit solutions of the linear Stokes-Sobolev system, to which fluid flows with a nonzero vorticity correspond. Based on the study of the nonlinear interaction of vortical flows, we find an approach that we can use to obtain families of explicit global solutions of the nonlinear problem.  相似文献

The solution of the Gellerstedt problem for the Lavrent’ev-Bitsadze equation was earlier obtained in the form of a series for the case of a half-strip in the elliptic part of the domain and of nonzero boundary data on the characteristics in the hyperbolic part of the domain. In the present paper, we give an integral representation of the solutions of this problem as well as some related problems.  相似文献

We consider the integrodifferential system of equations of electrodynamics which corresponds to a dispersive nonmagnetic medium. For this system we study the problem of determining the spatial part of the kernel of the integral term. This corresponds to finding the part of dielectric permittivity depending nonlinearly on the frequency of the electromagnetic wave. We assume that the support of dielectric permittivity lies in some compact domain Ω ⊂ ℝ3. In order to find it inside Ω we start with known data about the solution to the corresponding direct problem for the equations of electrodynamics on the whole boundary of Ω for some finite time interval. On assuming that the time interval is sufficiently large we estimate the conditional stability of the solution to this inverse problem.  相似文献
