We give a simplified construction of twist eating configurations, based on a theorem due to Frobenius. These configurations are defined through the equation:U U U + U + =exp(2in /N) withU SU(N), =1 tod andn an antisymmetric matrix with integer entries. In the (Twisted)-Eguchi-Kawai model they yield extrema some of which survive forN. Comparison is made with the Monte Carlo data of the internal energy in the small coupling region.  相似文献

For a translation invariant Gibbs measure on the configuration space X of a lattice finite spin system, we consider the set X of generic points. Using a Breiman type convergence theorem on the set X of generic points of an arbitrary translation invariant probability measure on X, we evaluate the Hausdorff dimension of the set X with respect to any metric out of a wide class of scale metrics on X (including Billingsley metrics generated by Gibbs measures).  相似文献

The triton energy of the muon capture reaction 3He t+v, where 3 He is the ground state of muonic3He, has been measured in order to investigate a possible heavy v admixture into the flavour with high sensitivity. 3 He has been formed via the pd fusion reaction by stopping in an ionization chamber (IC) filled with an H/D gas mixture of 3% D concentration at a pressure of 161 bar. In a first short experiment 650 triton events were observed yielding an upper limit for the -heavy v mixing strength of 2.3×10–3 atE 0v=60 MeV.  相似文献

We study a simple dynamical system which displays a so-called type-I intermittency bifurcation. We determine the Bowen-Ruelle measure and prove that the expectation (g) of any continuous functiong and the Kolmogoroff-Sinai entropyh() are continuous functions of the bifurcation parameter. Therefore the transition is continuous from a measure-theoretical point of view. Those results could be generalized to any similar dynamical system.  相似文献

The spectrum (H) of the tight binding Fibonacci Hamiltonian (H mn= m,n+1+ m+1,n + m,n v(n),v(n)= ((n–1)), 1/ is the golden number) is shown to coincide with the dynamical spectrum, the set on which an infinite subsequence of traces of transfer matrices is bounded. The point spectrum is absent for any , and (H) is a Cantor set for 4. We study the optimal learning capacity for neural networks withQ-state clock neurons, i.e. the states arecomplex numbers with magnitude 1 and azimuthal anglesn·2/Q, withn=0, 1, ...,Q–1. Performing a phase space analysis, the learning capacity c for given stability can be expressed by means of a double-integral with a simple geometrical interpretation, which for vanishing reduces to c (Q) = 4Q/(3Q–4), forQ3. Then we define a training algorithm, which generalizes the well-known AdaTron algorithm fromQ=2 toQ3 and converges very fast to the network with optimal stability, if the numberp of random patterns to be learned is smaller than c (Q). Finally, in the conclusions, we also give hints on applications for image recognition and in a note added in proof we generalize some results to Potts model networks.  相似文献

The vacuum line element inside an infinitely long rotating hollow cylinder is the usual flat space line element. It is fitted in a most general way to the general cylindrical vacuum field outside at the singular hypersurfaceR 0=const, representing the infinitely thin hollow cylinder. With the use of the jump conditions atR 0=const the surface densities , of which the energy-momentum-stress tensor of the shell consists, are calculated. For 2D percolation we slightly improve a result of Chayes and Chayes to the effect that the critical exponent for the percolation probability isstrictly less than 1. We consider a classical gas of particles in d interacting via a pair potential. We prove that in a given region of the (, ) plane, where is the inverse temperature, and is the chemical potential, either the Gibbs state is unique or it does not exist. Our method uses a version of the well-known Dobrushin uniqueness theorem adapted for lattice systems with a noncompact spin space and proved by Dobrushin and Pechersky. The advantage of this version is that using it one needs to check Dobrushin's contraction condition not for all boundary configurations, but only for those that have spin values in some compact subset of the spin space.  相似文献

The classical theory of the interaction of a neutral spin-1/2 Dirac field and the gravitational field is studied. For the purely gravitational part of the Lagrangian, written in terms of a vierbein and the local connection coefficient ab , (regarded as independent field variables), the usual first-order form is adopted. For the Dirac part, however, a different choice is made, in which the covariant derivative of is built with the aid of the vierbein instead of with ab . This still yields a first-order formalism, but one in which ab is related to the vierbein in the same way as it would be in the absence of. This ensures that the global connection remains symmetric in andv in the presence of. The way in which the vierbein field equation leads to a familiar Einstein equation with a symmetric and conserved stress tensor on its right side is also analyzed.  相似文献

The C -extended oscillator algebra is generated by {1, a, a , N, T}, where T is the generator of the cyclic group C of order . It can be realized as a generalized deformed oscillator algebra (GDOA). Its unirreps can thus be easily exhibited using the representation theory of GDOAs and their carrier spaces show a Z-grading structure. Slow production via dd-CF using a two-layer arrangement is investigated. To determine its feasibility, experimental measurements are now in progress using the muonic X-ray detection method. The following experimental steps are being considered: (1) measurement of the number of stopped inside a solid H2/D2 layer by detecting p K X-rays, (2) hot d emission detection by placing a secondary target at a distance of 10–30 mm from the layer and by detecting specific delayed X-rays, (3) measurement of the disappearance of d emission as the added D2 layer is increased, (4) dd-CF measurement by detecting fusion protons, and (5) slow emission detection. Results of the initial test experiment are presented.  相似文献

Some of the most frequent misconceptions about axiomatic quantum physics are discussed with the aim of clarifying their true significance, taking Piron's approach as conceptual framework. In particular, we deal with the following topics: the wrong identification of Piron's questions and Mackey's questions, and some curious alleged empirical consequences; the role of propositions as suitable equivalence classes of questions, their partial order structure, and the paradoxical consequences of the erroneous assignment to questions of some lattice properties involving propositions; the logical and the empirical purport of some negative theorems; the standard Hilbert space model of the theory and the consequent metaphysical disasters related to some identifications, which are peculiar of this model. A controversy between Foulis-Piron-Randall and Hadjisavvas-Thieffine-Mugur-Schächter is analyzed on the basis of the proposed Hilbert space model (in which Piron's questions are realized by Hilbertian effects, i.e., linear bounded operatorsF such that which clarify the different point of views. Three-dimensional differential calculus on quantum spheres S infc sup2 ,]–1, 1[{0}, c[0, ], is introduced and investigated. Spectra of generalized Laplacians are found. These operators are expressed by generalized directional derivatives. Conductance fluctuations are studied in twodimensional mesoscopic electron system with a two-hold valley degeneracy (n v =2), which corresponds to the inversion layer of Si-MOSFET formed in (1,0,0) plane. It is shown that the intervalley scattering modifies conductance fluctuations depending on the ratio, Min { c , T }/ v , where v = ( – 2)/2 and c , T , and are, respectively, system traversal time, thermal diffusion time, intervalley scattering time and total life time of electrons. Conductance fluctuations are no longer universal and vary from G univ 0.862·e 2/h to {ie223-5} at low temperatures even for isotropic systems. The conductance fluctuations increase with decreasing system size, increasing electron density and increasing intervalley scattering time. The effect of intervalley scattering is essentially the same as that of intersubband scattering as previously reported. At finite temperatures where T c , the intervalley scattering modifies the fluctuations through the change in the energy correlation range to results in the reduction of the conductance fluctuations. In Si-MOSFET formed in (1, 1, 1) plane, wheren v =6, more enhanced fluctuations are expected. Experimental studies are desired on theoretically predicted points.  相似文献

A projection-valued state is defined to be a completely orthoadditive map from the projections on one Hilbert space into the projections on another Hilbert space, which preserves the unit. Any such mapping is shown to have the formP U 1(P 11)U 1 –1 U 2(P 12)U 2 –1 , whereU 1 is unitary andU 2 is antiunitary, generalizing Wigner's theorem on symmetry transformations. Inelastic neutron scattering experiments have been performed on CH3I under pressure. The tunnel splitting of the methyl librational groundstate decreases almost exponentially with increasing hydrostatic pressure: t (p)=2.48 eV·exp (–0.138·p[kbar]), the librational energy increases asE 01 (p)=13.2 meV (1+0.050p[kbar]). Both relations can be explained by a rotational potentialV which depends on the interatomic distancer asVr –9.6 . This large exponent shows the importance of valence forces. The shape of the rotational potential is almost unaffected by pressure. The coupling of the methyl group to phonons via a shaking and a breathing term which was observed at atmospheric pressure is also found at high pressure. The effect appears at higher temperature as expected for the stronger potential.  相似文献
