证明了有偏压的光伏光折变晶体中存在着明、暗稳态的空间孤子.它源于对外电场的非均匀空间屏蔽和光伏效应.与已报道的稳态光折变空间孤子相比,它具有不同的特性.当外电场为某一特定值时,用改变外电场的极性和旋转光的偏振方向可以实现明孤子与暗孤子的相互转换.当外电场足够强可以忽略光伏效应时,它类似于屏蔽孤子;当不存在外电场时,它类似于开路条件下的光伏孤子. 关键词:  相似文献

We consider a quantum particle in a periodic structure submitted to a constant external electromotive force. The periodic background is given by a smooth potential plus singular point interactions and has the property that the gaps between its bands are growing with the band index. We prove that the spectrum is pure point—i.e., trajectories of wave packets lie in compact sets in Hilbert space—if the Bloch frequency is nonresonant with the frequency of the system and satisfies a Diophantine-type estimate, or if it is resonant. Furthermore, we show that the KAM method employed in the nonresonant case produces uniform bounds on the growth of energy for driven systems.  相似文献

修正和完善了有偏压的光伏光折变晶体中空间孤子的非线性波动方程的理论.当光伏效应可忽略时,它转化为屏蔽孤子的非线性波动方程;当外电场为零时,它转化为闭路和开路光伏孤子的非线性波动方程.证明了有偏压的光伏光折变晶体中存在着空间灰孤子.它起源于对外电场的非均匀空间屏蔽和光伏效应.当光伏效应可忽略时,它转化为屏蔽灰孤子;当外电场为零闭路时,它预言了在光伏光折变晶体中存在着光伏灰孤子.  相似文献

New types of spatially non-uniform excitations in icosahedral quasicrystalline lattices — solitons and coreless defects — are studied by the projection and topology techniques. The topological charges of particle-like solitons are revealed, each represents the set (z 1,z 2) of integers. The coreless defects are found to be topologically unstable excitations.  相似文献

We study the collision of two fast solitons for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the presence of a slowly varying external potential. For a high initial relative speed ||v|| of the solitons, we show that, up to times of order ||v|| after the collision, the solitons preserve their shape (in L 2-norm), and the dynamics of the centers of mass of the solitons is approximately determined by the external potential, plus error terms due to radiation damping and the extended nature of the solitons. We remark on how to obtain longer time scales under stronger assumptions on the initial condition and the external potential.  相似文献

Two exemples of pure states of Van Hove's Universal Receptacle in the boson case are presented with are not unitarily equivalent to any quasi-free state. An investigation is made of the properties of quasioptical electromagnetic beams that propagate in anisotropic media in a special direction — the direction of conical refraction — and are formed by plane waves that are concentrated near the surface of the cone of external conical refraction. We consider properties of solitons in general orbifolds in the algebraic quantum field theory framework and constructions of solitons in affine and permutation orbifolds. Under general conditions we show that our construction gives all the twisted representations of the fixed point subnet. This allows us to prove a number of conjectures: in the affine orbifold case we clarify the issue of fixed point resolutions; in the permutation orbifold case we determine all irreducible representations of the orbifold, and we also determine the fusion rules in a nontrivial case, which imply an integral property of chiral data for any completely rational conformal net.Supported in part by NSF.Supported in part by GNAMPA-INDAM and MIUR.Supported in part by NSF.  相似文献

This paper investigates the temporal behavior of two-photon screening spatial solitons using a numerical technique. An expression for the time-dependent dynamical evolution is obtained. The results show that the width of bright solitons decreases monotonically to a minimum toward steady state value when the intensity ratio of the solitons is small, which is in low-amplitude regime. Within the same propagation time, the intensity width of solitons decreases with increase in soliton intensity ratio and with increase in external electric field. The formation time of solitons is independent of the intensity ratio of the solitons or the external electric field and is close to a constant determined by the dielectric relaxation time. The temporal properties of dark solitons are similar to those of the bright solitons.  相似文献

The principal of passively mode-locked fiber soliton ring lasers is summarized, including its three output operation states: normal soliton, bound–solitons and noise-like pulse. The experimental results of the passively mode-locked fiber soliton ring lasers developed by us are given. Bound–solitons with different discrete separations and three-bound–solitons state have been observed in our fiber laser for the first time. The relationship among three operation states in fiber soliton laser is analyzed.  相似文献

The evolution of two-frequency solitons in an optical fiber, as well as the practically important special case of absence of the second-harmonic wave, in the presence of a longitudinal nonuniformity of the coefficients characterizing the propagation nonlinearity are considered. The solitons found for media with constant values of the nonlinearity coefficients are used as initial distributions for media with a periodic dependence of the nonlinearity coefficients on the longitudinal coordinate. Modulation of the coefficient of cubic or quadratic nonlinearity is shown to result in oscillations of the peak intensity of the solitons (in both their components if two-color solitons are considered). In the case of a weak modulation of the nonlinearity coefficients, oscillations of the peak intensity occur at the frequency coinciding with the frequency of modulation of the nonlinearity coefficients. Under the weak influence of a periodically modulated cubic nonlinearity, parameters of quadratic solitons also oscillate upon the propagation. Regions of stability of solitons in the space of the modulation parameters are established.  相似文献

This paper shows under what condition the well-knownABCD law — which can be applied to describe the propagation of one-dimensional Gaussian light through first-order optical systems (orABCD systems) — can be extended to more than one dimension. It is shown that in the two-dimensional (or higher-dimensional) case anABCD law only holds for partially coherent Gaussian light for which the matrix of second-order moments of the Wigner distribution function is proportional to a symplectic matrix. Moreover, it is shown that this is the case if we are dealing with a special kind of Gaussian Schell model light, for which the real parts of the quadratic forms that arise in the exponents of the Gaussians are described by the same real, positive-definite symmetric matrix.  相似文献

We present new types of compacton-like solutions for modified KdV and nonlinear Schrödinger equation with external sources, using a recently developed fractional transformation. In particular, we explicate these novel compactons for the trigonometric case, and compare their properties with those of the compactons and solitons in the case of modified KdV equation. Keeping in mind the significance of nonlinear Schrödinger equation with external source, for pulse propagation through asymmetric twin-core fibres, we hope that the newly found compacton may be launched in a long-haul telecommunication network utilizing asymmetric twin-core fibres.  相似文献

Considering time-dependence of both interactions and external potential, we analytically study the collisional behaviors of two bright solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates by using Darboux transformation. It is found that for a closed external potential, the soliton-soliton distance is decreased with nonlinearly increased interactions, while the amplitude of each soliton increases and its width decreases. For linearly increased interactions but nonlinearly decreased external potential, especially, the atom transfer between two solitons is observed, different from previous theory of no atom transfer in solitons collision in a fixed external potential. In addition, it is shown that the collisional type, such as head-on,"chase", or collision period between two solitons, can be controlled by tuning both interactions and external potential. The predicted phenomena can be observed under the condition of the current experiments and open possibilities for future application in atoms transport.  相似文献

In continuum limit, the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam lattice is modeled by a Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. It is shown that the long-time behavior of a KdV soliton train emerging from a harmonic excitation has a regular periodicity of right- and left-going trajectories. In a soliton train not all the solitons are visible, the solitons with smaller amplitude are hidden and their influence is seen through the changes of phase shifts of larger solitons. In the case of an external harmonic force several resonance schemes are revealed where both visible and hidden solitons have important roles. The weak, moderate, strong, and dominating fields are distinguished and the corresponding solution types presented.  相似文献

We show that an even-number sequence of multiple incoherent gray photorefractive spatial screening solitons is possible. When the external voltage is small, only an incoherent Y-junction photorefractive spatial screening soliton is generated, corresponding to the lowest order in the even-number incoherent soliton sequence. When the external voltage is increased, the incoherent gray soliton beam splits into an even-number sequence of multiple incoherent gray photorefractive spatial screening solitons. For a given physical system such an even-number sequence of multiple incoherent gray photorefractive spatial screening solitons is obtained by either increasing the external voltage and decreasing the full width half maximum (FWHM) of the beam’s intensity or increasing the external voltage and decreasing the beam’s grayness.  相似文献

We prove that the asymptotic field of a Skyrme soliton of any degree has a non-trivial multipole expansion. It follows that every Skyrme soliton has a well-defined leading multipole moment. We derive an expression for the linear interaction energy of well-separated Skyrme solitons in terms of their leading multipole moments. This expression can always be made negative by suitable rotations of one of the Skyrme solitons in space and iso-space. We show that the linear interaction energy dominates for large separation if the orders of the Skyrme solitons multipole moments differ by at most two. In that case there are therefore always attractive forces between the Skyrme solitons.  相似文献
