A minimal permutation representation of a group is a faithful permutation representation of least degree. Well-studied to date are the minimal permutation representations of finite sporadic and classical groups for which degrees, point stabilizers, as well as ranks, subdegrees, and double stabilizers, have been found. Here we attempt to provide a similar account for finite simple ezceptional groups of types G2 and F4. A minimal permutation representation of a group is its faithful permutation representation of least degree. Here the minimal permutation representations of finite simple exceptional twisted groups are studied: their degrees and point stabilizers, as well as ranks, subdegrees, and double stabilizers, are found. We can thus assert that, modulo the classification of finite simple groups, the aforesaid parameters are known for all finite simple groups. A connected solvable algebraic group is called minimal if its center is trivial and it has no proper connected subgroups with trivial center. We show that abstract isomorphisms of minimal groups defined over fields of characteristic zero are standard. The article contains two characterizations of projective linear groups PGL2(P) over a locally finite field P of characteristic 2: the first is defined in terms of permutation groups, and the second, in terms of a structure of involution centralizers. One of the two is used to prove the existence of infinite groups which are recognizable by the set of their element orders. In memory of Viktor A. Gorbunov Supported by RFFR grant No. 99-01-00550. The interpolation property in extensions of Johansson’s minimal logic is investigated. The construction of a matched product of models is proposed, which allows us to prove the interpolation property in a number of known extensions of the minimal logic. It is shown that, unlike superintuitionistic, positive, and negative logics, a sum of J-logics with the interpolation property CIP may fail to possess CIP, nor even the restricted interpolation property. In this paper, for an arbitrary regular biordered set E, by using biorder-isomorphisms between the w-ideals of E, we construct a fundamental regular semigroup WE called NH-semigroup of E, whose idempotent biordered set is isomorphic to E. We prove further that WE can be used to give a new representation of general regular semigroups in the sense that, for any regular semigroup S with the idempotent biordered set isomorphic to E, there exists a homomorphism from S to WE whose kernel is the greatest idempotent-separating congruence on S and the image is a full symmetric subsemigroup of WE. Moreover, when E is a biordered set of a semilattice Eo, WE is isomorphic to the Munn-semigroup TEo; and when E is the biordered set of a band B, WE is isomorphic to the Hall-semigroup WB.  相似文献

Every group that is finitely presented in the varietyA n of solvable groups. and is universally equivalent to a free group Fr(A n) in this variety, is embedded in the Cartesian degree of F2(A n). All subgroups on a set of two generators in that Cartesian degree which are universally equivalent to F2(A n) are determined. Free solvable and nilpotent groups are proved universally equivalent. It is proved that the permutation wreath product H of a simple Suzuki group Sz(27) and a subgroup fo a symmetric group of degree 23, isomorphic to a Frobenius group of order 253, is (up to isomorphism) distinguished among all finite groups by the set of orders of its elements. Since H possesses a minimal normal subgroup N that contains an element of order equal to the exponent of N, this result furnishes a counterexample to one of the conjectures set forth by Shi [1]. In addition, we show that the direct square of a group Sz(27) is also distinguished by the set of orders of its elements. Supported by RFFR grant No. 96-01-01893. It is proved that, for any n ∈ ω, there exist countable linear orderings Ln whose Δ 2 0 -spectrum consists of exactly all non n-low Δ 2 0 -degrees. Properties of such orderings are examined, for n = 1 and n = 2. It is proved that a finite group isomorphic to a simple non-Abelian group L3(2m) or U3(2m) is, up to isomorphism, recognizable by a set of its element orders. On the other hand, for every simple group S=S4(2m), there exist infinitely many pairwise non-isomorphic groups G with w(G)=w(S). As a consequence, we present a list of all recognizable finite simple groups G, for which 4t ∉ ω(G) with t>1. Let denote the eigenspace decomposition of a twisted affine Kac–Moody algebra with respect to an involution , where is a twisted loop algebra, is the center and d is the scaling element of . We endow with the standard bilinear symmetrical form. Then with and carries a Lorentzian signature. Let denote the group that corresponds to , then the adjoint representation of on can be restricted to and this submanifold is isometrical to the Hilbert space E ε, where is the decomposition of the twisted loop algebra with respect to the induced involutionρ0.We thus obtain an affine representation on E ε and we show that this representation is polar, i. e., there exists a submanifold that intersects all orbits, and intersects them orthogonally. This study focuses on vector-valued anisotropic Sobolev-Lions spaces associated with Banach spaces E0, E. Several conditions are found that ensure the continuity and compactness of embedding operators that are optimal regular in these spaces in terms of interpolations of spaces E0 and E. In particular, the most regular class of interpolation spaces Eα between E0, E depending on α and the order of space are found and the boundedness of differential operators D^α from this space to Eα-valued Lp,γ spaces is proved. These results are applied to partial differential-operator equations with parameters to obtain conditions that guarantee the maximal Lp,γ regularity and R-positivity uniformly with respect to these parameters.  相似文献

We present the construction for a u-product G1 ○ G2 of two u-groups G1 and G2, and prove that G1 ○ G2 is also a u-group and that every u-group, which contains G1 and G2 as subgroups and is generated by these, is a homomorphic image of G1 ○ G2. It is stated that if G is a u-group then the coordinate group of an affine space Gn is equal to G ○ Fn, where Fn is a free metabelian group of rank n. Irreducible algebraic sets in G are treated for the case where G is a free metabelian group or wreath product of two free Abelian groups of finite ranks. __________ Translated from Algebra i Logika, Vol. 44, No. 5, pp. 601–621, September–October, 2005. Let B be a class of groups A which are soluble, equationally Noetherian, and have a central series A = A1 ⩾ A2 ⩾ … An ⩾ … such that ⋂An = 1 and all factors An/An+1 are torsion-free groups; D is a direct product of finitely many cyclic groups of infinite or prime orders. We prove that the wreath product D ≀ A is an equationally Noetherian group. As a consequence we show that free soluble groups of arbitrary derived lengths and ranks are equationally Noetherian. Δ-spaces
We introduce the notion of a Δ-space and argue that a complete subcategory of the categoryTOP 0of all topological T0-spaces, defined by Δ-spaces, is a subdirectly closed subcategory ofTOP 0that contains many of the known denotational semantic categories of topological spaces as subdirectly closed subcategories. As a consequence, the affirmative answer is given to Scott’s question which inquires whether the category of bifinite domains is a complete subdirectly closed subcategory ofEQU. Characterizations of finite groups by sets of orders of their elements   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
For a finite group G, ω(G) denotes the set of orders of its elements. If ω is a subset of the set of natural numbers, h(ω) stands for the number of pairwise nonisomorphic finite groups G for which ω(G)=ɛ. We prove that h(ω(G))=1, if G is isomorphic to S9, S11, S12, S13, or A12, and h(ω(G))=2 if G is isomorphic to S2(6) or to O 8 + (2). 01 Supported by RFFR grant No. 96-01-01893.
