Summary Manganese(II) complexes of bis(2-benzimidazolylmethyl) ether (DGB), bis(2-benzimidazolylmethyl) sulphide (TGB) and the n-butyl derivative of DGB (BDGB) were prepared and characterised. The solution e.p.r. spectrum of [Mn(TGB)Cl2] in DMF at 143 K is commensurate with an axially distorted monomeric manganese(II) complex, room temperature magnetic moment (6.04 B.M.) per manganese(II) atom being in the range found for other d5 monomeric manganese(II) complexes. The solution e.p.r. spectrum of [Mn(BDGB)Cl2]-2H2O in DMF at 143 K indicates the presence of two equivalent manganese(II) ions coupled by an exchange interaction, fostered by bridging chlorides. Evidence for this is provided by a nearly isotropic 11 line hyperfine structure of 55Mn, with a coupling constant 45 ± 5G. Contact-shifted 1H n.m.r. data also supports an exchange coupled dimeric manganese complex. The room temperature magnetic moment, 5.64 B.M., per manganese(II) indicates quenching of the magnetic moment below that of monomeric manganese(II) ion. The [Mn(DGB)Cl2]·H2O complex exhibits a magnetic moment of 6.02 B.M. per manganese, indicating a monomeric manganese complex. E.p.r. data of the complex diluted in an analogous Zn-DGB complex (1∶20) correlates well for D = 0.22cm−1 and λ ∼- 0.267. The [Mn(DGB)-(C1O4)2] and [Mn(BDGB)(ClO4)2] complexes, diluted in analogous Zn-DGB and Zn-BDGB complexes (1∶20), show a strong single e.p.r. line at g eff ∼- 2. The complexes have low magnetic moments; 4.44 B.M./Mn and 4.39 B.M./Mn, at room temperature.  相似文献

Three novel unsymmetric tridentate ligands, namely, ptmi (ptmi = 3-(1,10-phenanthroline-2-yl)-as-triazino[5,6-f]-5-methoxyisatin), pti (pti = 3-(1,10-phenanthroline-2-yl)-as-triazino-[5,6-f]isatin), ptni (ptni = 3-(1,10-phenanthroline-2-yl)-as-triazino[5,6-f]-5-nitroisatin), and their complexes [Ru(tpy)(ptmi)](ClO4)2 (tpy = 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine) (1), [Ru(tpy)(pti)](ClO4)2 (2), and [Ru(tpy)(ptni)](ClO4)2 (3) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, ES–MS. The electrochemical behaviors were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The DNA-binding properties of these complexes were investigated by the spectroscopic method, viscosity measurements, and thermal denaturation. Theoretical studies on these complexes were also performed with the density functional theory (DFT) method. The experimental results showed that these complexes bind to calf thymus (CT-DNA) in an intercalative mode. The order of DNA-binding affinities (A) of these complexes is A(1) < A(2) < A(3). The trend in the DNA-binding affinities of this series of complexes can be reasonably explained by the DFT calculations.  相似文献

The previously synthesised Schiff-base ligands 2-(2-Ph(2)PC(6)H(4)N[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-R'-C(6)H(3)OH (R'= 3-OCH(3), HL(1); 5-OCH(3), HL(2); 5-Br, HL(3); 5-Cl, HL(4)) were prepared by a faster, more efficient route involving a microwave assisted co-condensation of 2-(diphenylphosphino)aniline with the appropriate substituted salicylaldehyde. HL(1-4) react directly with M(II)Cl(2)(M = Pd, Pt) or Pt(II)I(2)(cod) affording neutral square-planar complexes of general formula [M(II)Cl(eta(3)-L(1-4))](M = Pd, Pt, 1-8) and [Pt(II)I(eta(3)-L(1-4))](M = Pd, Pt, 9-12). Reaction of complexes 1-4 with the triarylphosphines PR(3)(R = Ph, p-tolyl) gave the novel ionic complexes [Pd(II)(PR(3))(eta(3)-L(1-4))]ClO(4)(13-20). Substituted platinum complexes of the type [Pt(II)(PR(3))(eta(3)-L(1-4))]ClO(4)(R = P(CH(2)CH(2)CN)(3)21-24) and [Pt(II)(P(p-tolyl)(3))(eta(3)-L(3,4))]ClO(4)( 25 and 26 ) were synthesised from the appropriate [Pt(II)Cl(eta(3)-L(1-4))] complex (5-8) and PR(3). The complexes are characterised by microanalytical and spectroscopic techniques. The crystal structures of 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 26 were determined and revealed the metal to be in a square-planar four-coordinate environment containing a planar tridentate ligand with an O,N,P donor set together with one further atom which is trans to the central nitrogen atom.  相似文献

Four asymmetric cobalt(III) complexes, [Co(bpy)2(aip)]3+, [Co(bpy)2(pyip)]3+, [Co(phen)2(aip)]3+, and [Co(phen)2(pyip)]3+ (bpy = 2,2,bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenathroline), (pyip = 2-(1-pyrenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][phen], (aip = 2-(9-anthryl)-1H-imidazo[4,5,-f][phen], have been synthesized and characterized. Their interaction with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was investigated by physico-chemical methods and photocleavage. The size and shape of the ligands have a marked effect on the DNA-binding affinity of the complexes. Irradiation of pBR322 DNA with these novel cobalt(III) complexes results in nicking of the plasmid DNA. Toxicity and induced cell death investigations revealed that the complexes of pyip had higher toxicity than those of aip. A series of Fe(II), Mn(II), Co(II) and Ru(II) complexes containing bis(imino)pyridine or bis(amino)pyridine ligands and weakly coordinating triflate (OTf-) or non-coordinating SbF6- anions have been prepared. The complexes have been fully characterized including several solid-state structure analyses. Two unusual mono-chelate six-coordinate bis(imino)pyridine Fe(II) and Mn(II) complexes have been observed. The catalytic properties of the complexes for the oxidation of cyclohexane with H2O2 have been evaluated. Only the Fe(II) complexes have shown catalytic activity, which is mainly due to Fenton-type free radical auto-oxidation.  相似文献

Synthesis of four different types of ligands Ar[COC(NOH)R] n (Ar = biphenyl, n = 1, HL1; Ar = biphenyl, n = 2, H2L2; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 1, HL3; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 2, H2L4; R = furfurylamine in all ligands) and their dinuclear Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ complexes is reported herein. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, ICP-OES, FT-IR spectra, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The ligands were further characterized by 1H NMR. The results suggest that dinuclear complexes of HL1 and HL3 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 2 and dinuclear complexes H2L2 and H2L4 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 1. Square pyramidal or octahedral structures are proposed for complexes of oxime ligands. Furthermore, extraction abilities of the four ligands were also evaluated in chloroform using selected transition metal picrates such as Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+. The ligands show strong binding ability towards Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions.  相似文献

Cobalt bis-(N-arylimino)isoindolinates undergo electrostatic interactions with DNA or react with alkyl hydroperoxides to form ketones and alcohols. Redox behavior of the metal center should affect such reactivities; therefore, six neutral CoII(L)2 complexes with L = bis-(N-arylimino)isoindolinates have been synthesized to elucidate the effect of the aryl substituents on the redox potential of the metal center. Redox properties of various MII(L)2 complexes (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) are compared. Moreover, data are presented on the dismutation rates of superoxide radical anion (a knowingly sensitive reagent on the redox properties of the metal center) in the presence of the various CoII(L)2 complexes among identical conditions.  相似文献

Four complexes of the general formula Ru(NNN)2+2 (N NN = tridentate N-heterocyclic ligand) were synthesized and studied spectroscopically. All exhibit visible absorption spectra that are charge-transfer-to-ligand in origin, are luminescent in glasses at 77 K, and display emission spectra that possess energies, structures, and decay tines that label them as charge transfer.  相似文献

The ligands D((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2) (D = NH 1, S 2) react with (dme)NiCl(2) or (PhCN)(2)MCl(2) (M = Pd, Pt) to give complexes of the form [D((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MX]X (X = Cl, I; M = Ni, Pd, Pt) which were converted to corresponding iodide derivatives by reaction with Me(3)SiI. Reaction of 1 or 2 with (COD)PdMeCl affords facile routes to [κ(3)P,N,P-NH((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)PdMe]Cl (8a) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)PdMe]Cl (9a) in high yields. An alternative synthetic approach involves oxidative addition of MeI to a M(0) precursor yielding [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)NiMe]I (10), [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MMe]I (M = Pd 8b Pt 11) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MMe]I (M = Pd 9b, Pt 12). Alternatively, use of NEt(3)HCl in place of MeI produces the species [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MH]X (X = Cl, M = Ni 13a, Pd 14a, Pt 16a). The analogs containing 2; [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MH]X (M = Pd, X = PF(6)15: M = Pt, X = Br, 17a, PF(6)17b) were also prepared in yields ranging from 74-93%. In addition, aryl halide oxidative addition was also employed to prepare [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MC(6)H(4)F]Cl (M = Ni 18, Pd 19) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)Pd(C(6)H(4)F)]Cl (20). Crystal structures of 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, 8a, 9a, 14b and 16b are reported.  相似文献

Summary The Schiff bases a-(C5H4N)CMe=NNHCOR (R = Ph, 2-thienyl or Me), prepared by condensation of 2-acetylpyridine with the acylhydrazines RCONHNH2, coordinate in the deprotonated iminol form to yield the octahedral complexes, M[NNO]2 M = Co or Ni; [NNOH] = Schiff base and the square-planar complexes, Pd[NNO]Cl. The Schiff bases also coordinate in the neutral keto form yielding the octahedral complexes (M[NNOH]2)Z2 (M = Ni, Co or Fe; Z = C104, BF4 or N03) and complexes of the type M[NNOH]X2 (M = Ni, Co, Fe or Cu; X = Cl, Br or NCS). Spectral and x-ray diffraction data indicate that the complexes M[NNOH]X2 (M = Ni or Fe) are polymeric octahedral, as are the corresponding cobalt complexes having R = 2-thienyl. However, the cobalt complexes Co[NNOH]X2 (X = CI or Br; R = Ph or Me) and the copper complexes Cu[NNOH]CI2 (R = Ph, 2-thienyl or Me) are five-coordinate, while the thiocyanato complex Co[NNOH](NCS)2 (R = 2-thienyl) is tetrahedral.  相似文献

Two copper(II) complexes [CuL1Cl]n (1) and [CuL2Cl] (2) with singly condensed tridentate Schiff-base ligands [HL1 = 6-amino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4-azahex-3-en-1-one and HL2 = 6-diethylamino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4-azahex-3-en-1-one] have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. Complex 1 is a single-chloro-bridged one-dimensional polymer, whereas 2 is a monomeric square-planar complex. The H-bonding interactions of the amine hydrogen and the non-bonding interactions of phenyl groups in the Schiff base play important roles for the structural variations.  相似文献

Two picolinate-containing nickel(II) complexes [Ni(bbma)(pic)(H2O)]ClO4 · CH3OH (1) and [Ni(ntb)(pic)]Cl · CH3OH · 3H2O (2) were synthesized and characterized by infrared, elemental analysis, UV-Vis, and X-ray diffraction analyses, where bbma is bis(benzimidazol-2-yl-methyl)amine, ntb is tris(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)amine, pic is the anion of picolinic acid. X-ray analysis shows that both complexes are mononuclear with picolinate coordinated to Ni(II) in a μ2-N,O chelating mode. Both complexes adopt distorted octahedral geometry. Intermolecular N–H ··· O and O–H ··· O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions in 1 and 2 are important in stabilization of the crystal structures.  相似文献

Summary A series of metal complexes with new tridentate Schiff base derived from salicylaldehyde and furfuraldehyde with o-phenyldiamine have been prepared and characterised by physical and chemical methods. Electronic spectra, room temperature magnetic moment values, e.p.r. and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes, where low molar conductance values are in accord with their non-electrolytic nature. The thermal stability of the complexes is discussed and the ligand-to-metal bonding modes discussed.  相似文献

The chemical and spectroscopic properties of the complexes are presented and the stoichiometry and mechanism of the carbonylation reaction discussed.  相似文献

Synthesis and characterisation of chelate complexes of the type [MoL(LH)], [Mo(Cys)3], [Mo en(BigH+)2(NCS)2]NCS and [Mo (pzn(BigH+)2(NCS)2]NCS, [LH2 = salicylidinethiosemicarbazone, Cys = L-cysteine, en(BigH+)2 = ethylenedibiguanide and pzn(BigH+)2 = piperazine dibiguanide] are described. Their μeff values at room temperature lie between 3.61 and 3.73 B.M.
