Fixed point theorems for the sum of two weakly sequentially continuous mappings

In the present paper, we prove some Krasnosel’skii-Leray-Schauder type fixed point theorems for weak topology. Some fixed point theorems for the sum of two weakly sequentially continuous mappings are also presented. Our results extend and improve on ones from several earlier works.

Some new results and generalizations in metric fixed point theory

The main purpose of this paper is the study of the generalization of some results given in [M. Berinde, V. Berinde, On a general class of multi-valued weakly Picard mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 326 (2007) 772-782] and references therein. Some generalizations of the Mizoguchi-Takahashi fixed point theorem, Kannan’s fixed point theorems and Chatterjea’s fixed point theorems are established by using our new fixed point theorems.     

Multiple solutions for nonlinear operators and applications

In this paper, some new multiple solutions theorems are obtained by introducing some new concepts such as the O-bounded cone. The abstract results obtained here are applied to ordinary differential equations and nonlinear systems of differential equations.     

A local strict comparison theorem and converse comparison theorems for reflected backward stochastic differential equations

A local strict comparison theorem and some converse comparison theorems are proved for reflected backward stochastic differential equations under suitable conditions.     

Towards Lim

The paper contains an elegant extension of the Nadler fixed point theorem for multivalued contractions (see Theorem 21). It is based on a new idea of the α-step mappings (see Definition 17) being more efficient than α-contractions. In the present paper this theorem is a tool in proving some fixed point theorems for “nonexpansive” mappings in the bead spaces (metric spaces that, roughly speaking, are modelled after convex sets in uniformly convex spaces). More precisely the mappings are nonexpansive on a set with respect to only one point - the centre of this set (see condition (4)). The results are pretty general. At first we assume that the value of the mapping under consideration at this central point looks “sharp” (see Definition 6). This idea leads to a group of theorems (based on Theorem 7). Their proofs are compact and the theorems, in particular, are natural extensions of the classical results for (usual) nonexpansive mappings. In the second part we apply the idea of Lim to investigate the regular sequences and here the proofs are based on our extension of Nadler's Theorem. In consequence we obtain some fixed point theorems that generalise the classical Lim Theorem for multivalued nonexpansive mappings (see e.g. Theorem 26).     

Coupled fixed points in partially ordered metric spaces and application

In this paper, we prove some coupled fixed point theorems for mappings having a mixed monotone property in partially ordered metric spaces. The main results of this paper are generalizations of the main results of Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham [T. Gnana Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 65 (2006) 1379-1393]. As an application, we discuss the existence and uniqueness for a solution of a nonlinear integral equation.

Multiplicity results for semilinear resonant elliptic problems with discontinuous nonlinearities

In the present paper, some generalized critical points theorems for locally Lipschitz functions are given; as applications, some multiplicity results for zero-boundary-value elliptic resonant problems are obtained. Two classical important theorems are improved.     

Coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces

In this paper, we establish two coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. The theorems presented extend some results due to ?iri? (2009) [3]. An example is given to illustrate the usability of our results.     

Fixed points for non-self operators and domain invariance theorems

The purpose of this paper is to discuss some basic problems of the fixed point theory for non-self (single-valued and multivalued) generalized contractions. As consequences, new open operator principles and domain invariance theorems are obtained. The results complement and extend some known results in the literature.

Monotone generalized contractions in partially ordered probabilistic metric spaces

In this paper, a concept of monotone generalized contraction in partially ordered probabilistic metric spaces is introduced and some fixed and common fixed point theorems are proved. Presented theorems extend the results in partially ordered metric spaces of Nieto and Rodriguez-Lopez [Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239; Existence and uniqueness of fixed point in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.) 23 (2007) 2205-2212], Ran and Reurings [A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443] to a more general class of contractive type mappings in partially ordered probabilistic metric spaces and include several recent developments.     

A note on cone metric fixed point theory and its equivalence

The main aim of this paper is to investigate the equivalence of vectorial versions of fixed point theorems in generalized cone metric spaces and scalar versions of fixed point theorems in (general) metric spaces (in usual sense). We show that the Banach contraction principles in general metric spaces and in TVS-cone metric spaces are equivalent. Our theorems also extend some results in Huang and Zhang (2007) [L.-G. Huang, X. Zhang, Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 332 (2007) 1468-1476], Rezapour and Hamlbarani (2008) [Sh. Rezapour, R. Hamlbarani, Some notes on the paper Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 345 (2008) 719-724] and others.

Nonlinear mean ergodic theorems for nonexpansive semigroups in Banach spaces

We prove two nonlinear ergodic theorems for noncommutative semigroups of nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. Using these results, we obtain some nonlinear ergodic theorems for discrete and one-parameter semigroups of nonexpansive mappings. Dedicated to Professors Albrecht Dold and Ed Fadell
