The usual kinetic equations for the site occupation probabilities in an external field are solved exactly in a simple one-dimensional periodic model with two kinds of atoms using a) free boundary conditions and order of limitsN, 0 needed for a proper treatment of the dc conductivity here b) boundary conditions with metallic contacts and order of limitsN, 0 and c) the same boundary conditions but reversed order of limiting processes 0,N typical of e.g. numerical and percolation treatments. (N and are the number of sites and frequency.) It is demonstrated that though the bulk dc conductivity is the same in all three cases, local bulk properties of the material are strongly dependent on the régime used. The role of the order of all three limiting processes 0,N+ andn+ (Nn+) for local shifts of the chemical potential n in the dc limit is examined (n is the number of the relevant site calculated from a boundary of the chain). It is shown especially that the rate equation treatment (régime a) on the one hand and numerical or percolation treatments (régime c) on the other hand never yield the same bulk values of r.  相似文献

In this paper the magnetic properties of ferromagnetic thin layers are studied by calculating the partition function for the magnetic system inKirkwood's approximation of the second order. The results obtained for the Curie temperature and the magnetization are in somewhat better agreement with the experiment than those obtained by Valenta.

The purpose of this article is the study of the new class of multifractal measures, which combines additive and multiplicative chaos, defined bywhere is any positive Borel measure on [0,1] and b is an integer 2. The singularities analysis of the measures , involves new results on the mass distribution of when describes large classes of multifractal measures. These results generalize ubiquity theorems associated with the Lebesgue measure.Under suitable assumptions on , the multifractal spectrum of , is linear on [0,h, ] for some critical value h, . Then is strictly concave on the right of h, , and on this part it is deduced from the multifractal spectrum of by an affine transformation. This untypical shape is the result of the combination between Dirac masses and atomless multifractal measures. These measures satisfy multifractal formalisms. Stability of a glow discharge in small currents
Two approximations of the dynamic characteristic of a glow discharge for small currents are derived. In the first approximation only the influence of the rate of rise and decay of charge carriers in the delay process is accounted for. In the second approximation, the influence of the rate of stabilization of the radial electric field in the discharge is added. On the basis of the derived equations the conditions for the simplest stability of the discharge are calculated. A comparison with experiment gives satisfactory results.

A few neutrino-induced tetramuon events have recently been reported by two experimental groups with a production rate of 10–6 for( + +)/ ( ). However, the rate for such events is not yet determined theoretically. In the present paper, we report on a detailed calculation of the rate in the framework of a heavy quark cascade mechanism, using the QCD-improved parton distribution functions parametrized by Buras and Gaemers, which have successfully fitted various experimental data. Our calculation for( + +)/ () accords well with the CDHS and FHPRW rate. The computed rate is also in accord with that obtained via the radiative charm model calculation, whereby the normal charm dimuon production is accompanied by a radiative + pair.  相似文献

A method is described for measuring the relative quantum efficiency of the internal photo-electric effect in semi-conductors by simultaneously measuring the photo-magnetoelectric and photo-conductive effect. The results of measurements on indium antimonide are given. The quantum efficiency begins to increase if the energy of the photon exceeds 0·47 eVat room temperature. The quantum efficiency as a function of the energy of the photon is analysed on the basis of the conception of impact ionization and it is shown that a study of the structure of this curve can supply information on the, band structure of a semi-conductor in the region of high energies of electrons and holes.

SR, high resolution neutron powder diffraction and heat capacity have been used to study the spin fluctuation compound UMn2. The SR spectra are dominated by muon depolarisation due to static fields from the Mn nuclei, features in the temperature dependence of the associated relaxation rate, , correlating well with the structural transitions observed at 210K. While a weak exponential relaxation ( 0.01s–1) indicates the presence of atomic spin fluctuations between 50K and 325K, SR provides little evidence of moment localisation or long range magnetic order, although an anomalous increase in below 40K is observed.  相似文献

In a nongeometrical interpretation of gravity,the metric g(x) = + (x)is interpreted as an effective metric, whereas(x) is interpreted as afundamental gravitational field, propagated in spacetime which isactually flat. Zero field SR spectra from Cr85Mo15 are well described by the sum of a lightly damped (0.02s–1<1<0.2s–1) and a heavily damped (2s–1<2<15s–1) exponential. The temperature dependence of these components is discussed in relation to the condensation of the incommensurate spin density wave and the onset of the antiferromagnetic state in this Cr-like alloy below TN=120K. Evidence is presented for the nucleation of the spin density wave at temperatures greater than 1.5TN.  相似文献

We use the algorithm recently introduce by A. Berretti and A. D. Sokal to compute numerically the critical exponents for the self-avoiding random walk on the hexagonal lattice. We find=1.3509±0.0057±0.0023v=0.7580±0.0049±0.0046=0.519±0.082±0.077 where the first error is the systematic one due to corrections to scaling and the second is the statistical error. For the effective coordination number we find=1.84779±0.00006±0.0017 The results support the Nienhuis conjecture=43/32 and provide a rough numerical check of the hyperscaling relationdv=2–. An additional analysis, taking the Nienhuis value of=(2+21/2)1/2 for granted, gives=1.3459±0.0040±0.0008  相似文献

The neutron density in the vicinity of a black cylindrical rod partly inserted in a bare reactor is calculated and illustrated by a numerical example. The starting point is a two-group diffusion theory approximation. While the dependence of the effect of the rod on the insertion depth can be calculated simply by means of perturbation theory, the question of the neutron density estimate in the vicinity of the rod is considerably more difficult and in some considerations the estimate of the neutron density caused by the presence of the rod is indispensable. The method makes it possible to determine the reactivity value of the rod in dependence on the insertion depth and especially the neutron density deformation in the vicinity of the rod.

Muon catalyzed fusion of deuterium and tritium (CF) yields the same energy gain per reaction as fusion with magnetic or inertial confinement (17.6 MeV). The crucial points of Cf are, however, very different, namely (a) the energy costW () for production of one and (b) the numbern of reactions a single muon can catalyze on the average. (b) is ultimately limited by theeffective sticking probability f :n1/ f. With standard methods one hasW ()5 GeV, f=0.5%. Hence a standard CF reactor can never reach a net energy gain. To solve this problem, ways discussed since about a decade are to increase the efficiency by both (i) energy multiplication using a fissionable blanket and (ii) breeding. A new way to increase the safety of fission devices mostly due to Yu. Petrov is outlined. On the other hand there is a hope to lowerW () slightly and f drastically, the latter by artificial reactivation. New theoretical results for beam cooling in an omegatron type driven integrated CF reactor, important forW () and, in particular, f, is presented.  相似文献

The paper considers the wave equation, with constant or variable coefficients in n , with odd n3. We study the asymptotics of the distribution t of the random solution at time t as t . It is assumed that the initial measure 0 has zero mean, translation-invariant covariance matrices, and finite expected energy density. We also assume that 0 satisfies a Rosenblatt- or Ibragimov–Linnik-type space mixing condition. The main result is the convergence of t to a Gaussian measure as t , which gives a Central Limit Theorem (CLT) for the wave equation. The proof for the case of constant coefficients is based on an analysis of long-time asymptotics of the solution in the Fourier representation and Bernstein's room-corridor argument. The case of variable coefficients is treated by using a version of the scattering theory for infinite energy solutions, based on Vainberg's results on local energy decay.  相似文献

The paper gives an analysis of the conditions in the primary circuit of equipment for measuring the magnetization curves of ferromagnets by the ballistic method. It investigates the influence of transitional current states caused by sudden changes in the circuit parameters (commutation, switching off and on of circuit), on the magnetic state of the ferromagnet. In this connection it points out the disadvantages of using the commutational ballistic method compared with the summation ballistic method for measuring the magnetization curves of ferromagnets with rectangular hysteresis loop and very short magnetization reversal time.

The paramagnetic spectrum of the Fe3+ ion in a CdWO4 monocrystal was measured on a frequency of 9600 kMHz at 290°K. The spin-Hamiltonian of the Fe3+ ion was determined and had the form of (1). The constants derived for the spin-Hamiltonian areE/D=0·144±0·002,D=23·8 kMHz.
