A lower closure theorem for an abstract control problem is proved. The functional isJ(,u)= G f 0(t, (M)(t),u(t))dt and the state equations areN(t)=f(t, (M)(t),u(t)). It is shown that, if {( k ,u k)} is a sequence of admissible controlsu k and corre-sponding trajectories k such that lim infJ( k ,u k)<+ and such that k weakly,M k M strongly,N k N weakly, and {u k} is bounded in someL p norm, then there is a controlu such that (,u) is admissible and lim infJ( k ,u k)J(,u).Dedicated to Professor M. We extend a recent method of proof of a theorem by Kolmogorov on the conservation of quasi-periodic motion in Hamiltonian systems so as to prove existence of (uncountably many) real-analytic quasi-periodic solutions for elliptic systems u=f x (u, y), whereu y M u(y) N ,f=f(x, y) is a real-analytic periodic function and is a small parameter. Kolmogorov's theorem is obtained (in a special case) whenM=1 while the caseN=1 is (a special case of) a theorem by J. Moser on minimal foliations of codimension 1 on a torusT M +1. In the autonomous case,f=f(x), the above result holds for any .  相似文献

Let M be a closed connected smooth manifold with dim M=n6, and : 1(M) Z be an epimorphism. Denote by the group ring of 1(M) and let be its Novikov completion. Let D * be a free-based finitely generated chain complex over . Assume that D ii=0 for i1 and in–1 and that D * has the same simple homotopy type as the Novikov-completed simplicial chain complex of the universal covering M. Let N be an integer. We prove that D * can be realized, up to the terms of of degree N as the Novikov complex of a Morse map : M S 1, belonging to . Applications to Arnold's conjectures and to the theory of fibering of M over S 1 are given.  相似文献

Let X n1 * , ... X nn * be a sequence of n independent random variables which have a geometric distribution with the parameter p n = 1/n, and M n * = \max\{X n1 * , ... X nn * }. Let Z 1, Z2, Z3, ... be a sequence of independent random variables with the uniform distribution over the set N n = {1, 2, ... n}. For each j N n let us denote X nj = min{k : Zk = j}, M n = max{Xn1, ... Xnn}, and let S n be the 2nd largest among X n1, Xn2, ... Xnn. Using the methodology of verifying D(un) and D'(un) mixing conditions we prove herein that the maximum M n has the same type I limiting distribution as the maximum M n * and estimate the rate of convergence. The limiting bivariate distribution of (Sn, Mn) is also obtained. Let n, n Nn, , and T n = min{M(An), M(Bn)}. We determine herein the limiting distribution of random variable T n in the case n , n/n > 0, as n .  相似文献

Based on our analysis of the hopcount of the shortest path between two arbitrary nodes in the class G p (N) of random graphs, the corresponding flooding time is investigated. The flooding time T N (p) is the minimum time needed to reach all other nodes from one node. We show that, after scaling, the flooding time T N (p) converges in distribution to the two-fold convolution (2*) of the Gumbel distribution function (z)=exp (–e z ), when the link density p N satisfies Np N /(log N)3 if N .  相似文献

Let {W(s)} s 0 be a standard Wiener process. The supremum of the squared Euclidian norm Y (t)2, of the R2-valued process Y(t)=(1/t W(t), {12/t 3 int0 t s dW (s)– {3/t} W(t)), t [, 1], is the asymptotic, large sample distribution, of a test statistic for a change point detection problem, of appearance of linear trend. We determine the asymptotic behavior P {sup t [, 1] Y(t)2 > u as u , of this statistic, for a fixed (0,1), and for a moving = (u) 0 at a suitable rate as u . The statistical interest of our results lie in their use as approximate test levels.  相似文献

Summary Consider a random walk of law on a locally compact second countable groupG. Let the starting measure be equivalent to the Haar measure and denote byQ the corresponding Markov measure on the space of pathsG . We study the relation between the spacesL (G , a ,Q) andL (G , i ,Q) where a and i stand for the asymptotic and invariant -algebras, respectively. We obtain a factorizationL (G , a ,Q) L (G , i ,Q)L (C) whereC is a cyclic group whose order (finite or infinite) coincides with the period of the Markov shift and is determined by the asymptotic behaviour of the convolution powers n.  相似文献

Let x: M A n + 1 be a locally strongly convex hypersurface, given as a graph of a locally strongly convexfunction x n + 1 =f(x 1, ..., x n )defined in a domain A n . We introduce a Riemannian metricG # = (2 f/x i x j )dx i dx j on M. In this paper, we investigate the affine maximalhypersurfaces which are complete with respect to the metricG # and prove a Bernstein property for the affine maximalhypersurfaces.  相似文献

The Navier-Stokes equations for compressible barotropic fluid in 1D with the mass force under zero velocity boundary conditions are studied. We prove the uniform upper and lower bounds for the density as well as the uniform in time L 2()-estimates for x and u x (u is the velocity). Moreover, a collection of the decay rate estimates for - (with being the stationary density) and u in 2()-norm and H 1()-norm as time t are established. The results are given for general state function p() (but mainly monotone) and viscosity coefficient µ() of arbitrarily fast (or slow) growth as well as for the large data.  相似文献

LetG be a (not necessarily connected) real Lie group with reductive Lie algebra. We consider representations ofG which some call admissible but we call them of Harish-Chandra type. We show that any nontempered irreducible Harish-Chandra type representation ofG is infinitesimally equivalent to the Langlands quotient obtained from an essentially unique triple (M, V, ) of Langlands data; while for tempered irreducible Harish-Chandra type representations we prove they are infinitesimally subrepresentations of some induced representations UV, with imaginary and withV from the quasi-discrete series of a suitableM (perhapsG=M; we define the quasi-discrete series in Definition 4.5 of this paper. We show that irreducible continuous unitary representations of really reductive groups are of Harish-Chandra type. Then the results above yield the canonical decomposition of the unitary spectrum>G for any really reductiveG. In particular, this holds ifG/G 0 is finite, so the center of the connected semi-simple subgroup with Lie algebra [g, g] may be infinite!Research supported, in part, by the Hungarian National Fund for Scientific Research (grant Nos. 1900 and 2648).  相似文献

LetA, M, N ben × n real matrices, letA=M–N, letA andM be nonsingular. LetMy0 implyNy0 (where the prime denotes the transpose). ThenAy0 impliesNy0 if and only if the spectral radius (M –1 N) ofM –1 N is less than one. This complements a result of Mangasarian, given in [1]. The same conclusions are true ifA, M, andN are replaced byA, M, andN respectively. The proof given here does not make use of the Perron-Frobenius theorem.

LetA be a von Neumann algebra and a faithful normal state. ThenO = { ºAd(g 1) :g G A }andU = { ºAd(u *) :u U A are homogeneous reductive spaces. IfA is aC * algebra,e the Jones projection of the faithful state viewed as a conditional expectation, then we prove that the similarity orbit ofe by invertible elements ofA can be imbedded inAA in such a way thate is carried to 1 1 and the orbit ofe to a homogeneous reductive space and an analytic submanifold ofAA.  相似文献

Let be a bounded domain in n (n3) having a smooth boundary, let be an essentially bounded real-valued function defined on × h, and let be a continuous real-valued function defined on a given subset Y of Y h. In this paper, the existence of strong solutions u W 2,p (, h) W o 1,p (n/2<p<+) to the implicit elliptic equation (–u)=(x,u), with u=(u1, u2, ..., uh) and u=(u 1, u 2, ..., u h), is established. The abstract framework where the problem is placed is that of set-valued analysis.  相似文献

Circular Chromatic Number and Mycielski Graphs   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
As a natural generalization of graph coloring, Vince introduced the star chromatic number of a graph G and denoted it by *(G). Later, Zhu called it circular chromatic number and denoted it by c(G). Let (G) be the chromatic number of G. In this paper, it is shown that if the complement of G is non-hamiltonian, then c(G)=(G). Denote by M(G) the Mycielski graph of G. Recursively define Mm(G)=M(Mm–1(G)). It was conjectured that if mn–2, then c(Mm(Kn))=(Mm(Kn)). Suppose that G is a graph on n vertices. We prove that if , then c(M(G))=(M(G)). Let S be the set of vertices of degree n–1 in G. It is proved that if |S| 3, then c(M(G))=(M(G)), and if |S| 5, then c(M2(G))=(M2(G)), which implies the known results of Chang, Huang, and Zhu that if n3, c(M(Kn))=(M(Kn)), and if n5, then c(M2(Kn))=(M2(Kn)).* Research supported by Grants from National Science Foundation of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences.  相似文献
