We have developed the extraction method of rhodium(III) from malonate media with 2‐octylaminopyridine (2‐OAP) in xylene at pH 8.0. The quantitative extraction of rhodium(III) with extractant was found by screening of different physicochemical parameters like malonate concentration, extractant concentration, pH, diluents, effect of temperature, aq: org phase ratio, loading capacity of 2‐OAP. The optimum condition was malonate=0.025 M, pH=8.0, 2‐OAP=0.05 M in xylene. The complete stripping of rhodium(III) from the loaded organic phase was carried out with 2 M HCl. Log‐log plot was investigated to determine the stoichiometry of the extracted species and it was found to be 1 : 2 : 1 (metal : acid :extractant). The versatility of the proposed method was checked for extraction and separation of rhodium(III) from binary, ternary mixture of associated metal ions as well as platinum group metals and from the synthetic solution of rhodium minerals and alloys.  相似文献

A selective method has been developed for extraction chromatographic studies of aluminium(III) and its separation from several metal ions with a chromatographic column containing N-n-octylaniline (liquid anion exchanger) coated on silanized silica gel as a stationary phase. The aluminium(III) was quantitatively extracted with the 0.065 mol/L N-n-octylaninine from 0.013 to 0.05 mol/L sodium succinate at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The extracted metal ion has been recovered by eluting with 25.0 mL of 0.05 mol/L hydrochloric acid and estimated spectrophotometrically with aurintricarboxylic acid. The effects of the acid concentration, the reagent concentration, the flow rate and the eluting agents have been investigated. The log-log plots of distribution coefficient (KdAl(III)) versus N-n-octylaniline concentrationin 0.005 and 0.007 mol/L sodium succinate gave theslopes 0.5 and 0.7 respectively and showed theprobable composition of theextracted species was 1:1 (metal to amine ratio) and the nature of extracted species is [RR''NH2+ Al succinate2-] org. .The extraction of aluminium(III) was carried out in the presence of various ions to ascertain the tolerance limit of individual ions. Aluminium(III) has been separated from multicomponent mixtures, pharmaceutical samples and synthetic mixtures corresponding to alloys. A scheme for mutual separation of aluminium(III), indium(III), gallium(III) and thallium(III) has been developed by using suitable masking agents. The method is fast, accurate and precise.  相似文献

The use ofN-n-octylaniline for the extraction of iridium(III) from malonate media is studied at pH 8.5. Iridium(III) extracted in the organic phase was stripped with 2.0 M hydrochloric acid and was determined spectrophotometrically by the stannous chloride–hydrobromic acid method at 385 nm. The extraction system is studied as a function of the equilibration time, diluent, reagent concentration and diverse ions. Experimental data have been analyzed graphically to determine the stoichiometry of the extracted species. It was found that the extraction of iridium(III) proceeds by an anion exchange mechanism and transforms into the extracted species [RR"NH2 +Ir(C3H2O4)2 ]org. The method is simple, rapid, and selective and has been devised for the sequential separation of iridium(III) from rhodium(III), not only from each other, but also from other accompanying Platinum Group Metals (PGMs), Au(III), and base metals.  相似文献

The extraction behavior of platinum(IV) was studied with N-n-octylaniline as a function of different parameters, such as pH, concentrations of weak acids, mineral acids, reagents and elution time. A selective method was developed for the extraction chromatographic studies of platinum(IV) and its separation from several metal ions with N-n-octylaniline (liquid anion exchanger) as a stationary phase on silica gel. The quantitative extraction of platinum(IV) was observed with 0.067 mol/L N-n-octylaniline and 0.015 mol/L ascorbic acid at pH 1.0. Metal ion was stripped from the column with water and determined spectrophotometrically with stannous chloride method. The proposed method is free from the interference of a large number of cations and anions. Platinum(IV) was separated from pharmaceutical preparations, alloys and synthetic mixtures. Mutual separation scheme was developed for platinum(IV), palladium(II) and gold(III). The log-log plot of N-n-octylaniline concentration versus the distribution ratio indicates that the probable extracted species is [RR′NH+2 ]· Pt(C6H7O6)-3.  相似文献

A new an innovative separation method has been developed using N-n-octylaniline (liquid anion exchanger) coated on silica gel. Ruthenium(III) has been extracted quantitatively from 0.05 M hydrochloric acid, striped with aqueous solution of various acids and then determined by spectrophotometric method. Mutual separation scheme for ruthenium(III), iridium(III) and osmium(VIII) has been developed. Ruthenium(III) has been separated from commonly associated elements. Different parameter are studied viz effect of acid concentration, reagent concentration, striping agent, flow rate, foreign ion and synthetic mixture corresponding to alloys. Validity of method has been verified by separation of ruthenium(III) from fissium alloy.  相似文献

The extraction of rhodium(III) with a bisacylated diethylenetriamine derivative from hydrochloric acid solutions was studied. Optimum conditions for rhodium(III) extraction were determined. It was found that, at a contact time to 10 min, the extraction occurred by an ion-association mechanism. At a contact time longer than 10 min, rhodium(III) was extracted by a mixed mechanism with the insertion of an extractant molecule into the inner coordination sphere of the rhodium(III) ion. The composition of the extracted compound was determined using electronic, 1H and 13C NMR, and IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and the structure of this compound was proposed.  相似文献

A new method for the quantitative extraction and separation of trace amounts of rhodium from nitric acid and sodium trichloroacetate media has been established based on the formation of an ion-association complex of hexahydrated rhodium cation Rh(H2O)6 3+ and the trichloroacetate (TCA) anion in tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP). The effect of various factors (solvent, pH, sodium trichloroacetate, shaking time, phase volume ratio, composition of the extracted species, foreign ions, transformation of rhodium chlorocomplexes into hexahydrated cation, etc.) on the extraction and back-extraction of rhodium has been investigated. The method can be combined with subsequent FAAS determination of rhodium. The procedure was applied to determine rhodium traces in chloroplatinic acid and palladium chloride. The extraction of rhodium(III) with 1,3-diamyl-2-imidazolidinethione from hydrochloric acid solutions was studied. Optimum conditions for rhodium(III) extraction were determined. It was found that rhodium(III) was extracted from a 0.5 M solution of HCl at a phase contact time of 3 h by a coordination mechanism. The composition of the extracted compound was determined using electronic, 1H and 13C NMR, and IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. It was demonstrated that the extracting agent coordinated to the rhodium(III) ion through the sulfur atom.  相似文献

Iridium and rhodium are among the platinum group metals. The properties, production processes, and aqueous chemistry of both metals are reviewed. The separation of Ir(IV) and Rh(III) from hydrochloric acid solution is dependent on the characteristics of the solvent extraction systems. In most of the extraction conditions, Ir(IV) is selectively extracted over Rh(III) by either amines or neutral extractants. Rh(I) can be selectively extracted over Ir(III) by neutral extractants after Rh(III) is reduced in the presence of a reducing agent. The separation of these two metals using cationic extractants has also been reported. Although selective extraction of one metal over the other is possible, more efficient solvent extraction systems need to be developed.  相似文献

Conditions have been developed for the extraction of chromium(III) and rhodium(III) as their 8-hydroxyquinolinates into molten naphthalene. The naphthalene is allowed to solidify, separated by filtration, dried with filter paper and dissolved in chloroform. The solution is diluted to 10 ml and its absorbance measured at 410 nm for chromium and 425 nm for rhodium, against a reagent blank. In both cases the solution is stable for 24-36 hr. Beer's law is obeyed over the range of 2.7-48.6 mug of chromium or 2.7-57.5 mug of rhodium in 10 ml of the chloroform solution. The molar absorptivity is 3 x 10(3) l. mole(-1) . cm(-1) for chromium and 3.6 x 10(4) for rhodium. Solutions containing 27.0 mug of chromium or 10.95 mug of rhodium give a mean absorbance of 0.140 and 0.395 respectively, with standard deviations of 0.002(2) and 0.004(7). Most metal ions that form oxinates may interfere, but can be removed beforehand by normal liquid-liquid extraction.  相似文献

N-n-octylaniline in xylene is used for the extractive separation of gold(III) from halide media. Gold(III) was extracted quantitatively with 10 ml of 2% reagent in xylene from 0.5-10 M and 0.5-8 M hydrochloric acid and hydrobromic acid, respectively. It was stripped from the organic phase with ammonia buffer solution (pH 10.1) and estimated spectrophotometrically with stannous chloride. The effect of metal ion, acids, reagent concentration and of various foreign ions has been investigated. Method is applicable to the analysis of synthetic mixtures containing platinum metals and alloy samples. The method is fast, accurate and precise.  相似文献

Liquid-liquid extraction of rhodium(III) from hydrochloric acid solutions with a 1,2,4-triazole derivative was studied. Optimal conditions for its recovery were found. Rhodium(III) was shown to be recovered in extraction system by ion-exchange reaction at the time of phase contact not longer than 5 min. When phase contact time increased, rhodium(III) is extracted by a mixed mechanism with simultaneous insertion of two extractant molecules into the inner coordination sphere of rhodium(III) ion. Composition of coordination species of recovered compounds was established by electronic, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and functional analysis, the structure of the coordination species is proposed.  相似文献

The distribution of rhodium(III) between polyether-type polyurethane foam and 0.5–5.0 mol dm?3 hydrochloric acid in the presence of small amounts of tin(II) chloride is described. The distribution of rhodium is affected by the extraction temperature, acid concentration and the Sn(II):Rh ratio. The capacity of the polyurethane foam for rhodium is in excess of 0.5 mmol g?1. Rhodium is presumably sorbed in the form of a chloro(trichlorostannato)rhodium(III/I) complex anion. Iridium is not extracted by the foam under corresponding conditions and can be separated quantitatively from rhodium.  相似文献

A procedure was developed for recovery and concentration of residual palladium(II) from a “lean” refining solution by extraction with 1Н-1,2,4-triazole derivatives. Palladium(II) is extracted quantitatively from 1 M hydrochloric acid solutions and under optimum conditions is selectively separated from platinum(IV) and rhodium(III).  相似文献

In the present work, an electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric method has been developed for the determination of ultra‐trace amounts of rhodium after adsorption of its 2‐(5‐bromo‐2‐pyridylazo)‐5‐diethylaminophenol/tetraphenylborate ion associated complex at the surface of alumina. Several factors affecting the extraction efficiency such as the pH, type of eluent, sample and eluent flow rates, sorption capacity of alumina and sample volume were investigated and optimized. The relative standard deviation for eight measurements of 0.1 ng/mL of rhodium was ±6.3%. In this method, the detection limit was 0.003 ng/mL in the original solution. The sorption capacity of alumina and the linear range for Rh(III) were evaluated as 0.8 mg/g and 0.015–0.45 ng/mL in the original solution, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for the extraction and determination of rhodium content in some food and standard samples with high recovery values.  相似文献

The addition of Barton's base has a dramatic effect on the classic rhodium(III)‐mediated hydrogenations promoted by Wilkinson′s catalyst. Following the initial oxidative addition, a barrierless reductive elimination of HCl from the traditional rhodium(III) intermediates instantly produces a rhodium(I) monohydride species, which is remarkably reactive in the hydrogenation of several internal alkynes and functionalized trisubstituted alkenes. The direct formation of this species is unprecedented upon addition of molecular hydrogen and its catalytic potential has been hitherto barely explored.  相似文献

The distribution of Th(IV) between aqueous sulphuric acid and organic phases of N-n-octylaniline in xylene is described. The dependence of the metal extraction on acidity and extractant concentration is investigated. Based on the results obtained, the possible extraction mechanism is discussed. The determination of Th(IV) and its separation from synthetic mixtures is suggested. The method is extended to the analysis of thorium in monazite and gas mantles.  相似文献

A complete change of the traditional Ugi adducts framework has been obtained using new radical cascades as Ugi post-condensation reactions. Indanes and delta-amidomalonates were thus obtained in a one-pot procedure from aromatic aldehydes under a sequence involving Ugi addition followed by treatment of the adducts with Mn(III) and malonate or beta-ketoester. The radical step probably involves an intramolecular aryl transfer followed by an oxidative cleavage and final cyclization to indanes.  相似文献
